Two requests for some Psychogun loving
Cobra: Kokuryuu-ou no Densetsu

Also Cosmic Fantasy 4: Ginga Shonen Densetsu (Totsunyuu-hen/Gekitou-hen)

All are PC Engine. Ruiner I think you should see Cobra. Its a really REALLY good anime.

MINOR EDIT:
I did some investigation into the Star Ocean 2 PSF rip and found that there are four unused tracks, one being from Dragon Quest III. I'm requesting an MP3 conversion of that game including the hidden tracks for some analysis. It might be the only time we hear Sakuraba working with Sugiyama's music. A good opportunity don'tcha think ruiner?

So after these three I have two you might want for yourself:
STAR OCEAN: The Second Story
Valkyrie Profile

OK, well you already have 3 games in the queue. I've said this SEVERAL times to you, PLEASE wait until I've filled your requests before you request more. I've given you several chances and I don't want to revoke your requests.

Try doing all the Pac arcade games (Attack, Mania, Ms., etc.) and Mr. Do.

Please try to do your own Hey You Pikachu project!

Can you do Pokmon Puzzle League on the N64?

If these are too much, take as long as you need.

Assuming that every Final Fantasy game that could be done is finished.

Yo! I am making a complete version of (as I call it) "City Adventure Series" music for possible share and I have only one request.

- Imitation City - NEC PC-8801
An adventure game penned by Ishii Jirou, who has also written games like 428 -Fuusa-sareta Shibuya de- and TIME TRAVELERS.

"CAS" consists of:

Imitation City
Machi
428 -Fuusa-sareta Shibuya de-
TIME TRAVELERS

I have OSTs and gamerips for all games besides IC.

It was pretty awesome waking up and seeing the first happy birthday wish on my Facebook account was from Alberto Jose Gonzalez! :D I could've just gone back to bed after that and called it an awesome day!

Anyways, Populous (SNES) is new. I rented this once when I was a kid. I remember not liking the game too much but really liking the title screen music.

Also new is Battle Royale (TG16), which is very chip-rock and pretty fun!

I can't rip Shin Nihon Pro Wrestling 94: Battlefield in Tokyo Dome (PCE-CD) simply because I can't find the ISO. :(

Okay, here are a few request if it's possible to do them

Soldiers of Fortune (Genesis) - action shmup, so ya. :)
Fantasy Zone Gear (Game Gear) - Not sure what the differences may be between this and the regular Fantasy Zone released on the original SMS. Curious to evaluate as there are some very fun themes full of nostalgia here.
Syd of Valis (Genesis) - I've always loved this dumb series for some reason, and it had cool music. Would like to hear this version for sure.

Thanks again! :)

The new ones we have today are:

Beast Shooter: Mezase Beast King (GBA)
Get Ride! Amdriver: Senkou no Hero Tanjou (GBA)

^As always, you have my gratitude for taking care of my requests, Ruiner! Now, if I may be so bold, I have another trio of GBA rips in mind (again, I'm not picky about whether or not they're "clean"):

-Hachiemon (Natsume. Iku Mizutani. 'Nuff said.)
-Bakuten Shoot Beyblade 2002: Ikuze! Gekitou! Chou Jiryoku Battle!
-Bakuten Shoot Beyblade 2002: Gekisen! Team Battle!! Kouryuu no Shou Daichi-hen (Did I mention that both these Beyblade games were scored by the legendary Yuzo Koshiro? ;))

As always, thanks in advance for looking into them!

If not I think their wiki could use your particular expertise.

I use VGMPF a bit here and there, but I've honestly found MobyGames to be the greatest resource for composer information.

Anyways, on to the new stuff!

New Rally X, Sky Kid, Metro Cross (Arcade) - Three classic Namco titles with very short but catchy tunes.

Space Adventure Cobra Koku Ryuu Ou no Densetsu, Space Adventure Cobra II Densetsu no Otoko, Cosmic Fantasy 4 - Ginga Shounen Densetsu (PCE-CD) - A few Turbo CD games with mixtures of redbook and chiptunes.

Fantasy Zone Gear (Game Gear) - The portable version with a different soundtrack than the Master System one.

Syd of Valis (Genesis) - I normally expect better quality music from Renovation titles... this one is pretty screechy in places with very minimalistic sound. the synth in Stage 3 is particularly irritating.

Sadly, there's a bunch I can't rip:

Spiderman Movie - The Game (encryption issues)
Spiderman 2 Movie - The Game (format compatibility issues)
Dragonball Z Taiketsu (doesn't use a compatible GBA sound engine for any ripping method)
Soldiers of Fortune (no VGM set available)

And lefance, you may want to ask nx666 about Imitation City. There's no HOOT set for it, but he seems to be pretty good at making them himself from the games. I may learn how to do that myself once I have more time.

That's it! See ya later!

Hello, ruiner. Going to a wrestling show in Vancouver tomorrow night with my brother, but the second of my final requests to you do NOT involving wrestling, lol. Instead, these request are three Compile Aleste games that I haven't seen in your OST listings and deserve to be in...

- GG Aleste (Sega Game Gear - The first Aleste game for the Game Gear. Played this bunch of times and never gets old for me.)
- GG Aleste 2: Lance Bird (Sega Game Gear - The second Game Gear Aleste game. Don't think I've played this, but it's different from the first game music, enemies, and stage wise.)
- Power Strike (Sega Master System - AKA Aleste. I wonder if you can do both the FM and PSG versions of this into one file.)

Have a great remainder of the week ahead, ruiner!! :D

Thanks so much for the Namco tunes!

I've recently been attempting to learn how to rip myself, mostly so that I can rip those pesky licenced OST's that are a no go with you. Redbook is cake, but I haven't learnt how to rip the other formats yet. So for now, I would like to request a couple of games:

I would first like to request Tokyo Highway Battle (PS1). From ripping my own copy I can say there are six Redbook audio songs, but I wondered if any of the other music is rippable like the menu songs.

Also, is Ridge Racer Type 4 rippable or not? It's the only PS1 Ridge Racer that doesn't have Redbook audio. I know it has an OST, but I'm still after a game rip as a few songs are different sounding on the soundtrack.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks a million for these uploads. Some of these rips I've been unable to find anywhere else, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate them.

I dunno if anyone's mentioned this before -- I tried a search and found nothing -- but I've noticed a few of the Game Boy Wario jingles fade out when they're not supposed to. Tracks like the "Lose Life" jingle in Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, "Nintendo Presents" and "Chapter Start" in Wario Land II, and others. I haven't downloaded the whole series yet so I don't know how far the problem extends, but does this have anything to do with the software you use?

"Lose Life" maaaaybe sounds like it fades off at the last note, but I don't know what the original sounds like. The other two tracks you mention sound totally fine to me. Is your player maybe auto-fading tracks at the end? I sometimes cut the end of the track right at the last note, and some players will quickly fade mp3's for a smoother transition to the next song. I'm using VLC player for PC and I'm not noticing any issues.

OK, things are working now! Here's the new stuff:

Super Back to the Future II (SNES) - Hitoshi Sakimoto really knocked Alan Silvestri's original music score out of the park.

Back to the Future and Back to the Future II & III (NES) - Sub-par renderings of mostly 50's music from these LJN stinkers.

Bakuten Shoot Beyblade 2002 Ikuze! Gekitou! Chou Jiryoku Battle! and Bakuten Shoot Beyblade 2002 Team Battle! Daichi Hen (GBA) - Well, looks like even Yuzo Koshiro can't save the awful GBA sound hardware from sounding mediocre. :-/

Hachiemon (GBA) - I couldn't do a clean rip of this, but a lot of the music relies on GB soundchips for the leads, so it still sounds pretty good.

Ax Battler - A Legend of Golden Axe (GG) - A pretty bad offshoot of the Golden Axe series. The music doesn't make it any more endearing.

Power Strike (SMS) - Both the PSG and FM versions of this are pretty good. I can't tell which one I like better, in fact.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (PSX) - 90's electro-rock. Sounds a bit dated but I still enjoy it. Couldn't find a composer for this one, though.

...And that's it! Hope you enjoy!

KingTengu has tagged and ordered the Ultimate Fighting Championsip (PSX) album. Thanks!

New Stuff:

Youkai Douchuuki (NES) - A very solid selection of Asian-influenced action songs.

Guardian Heroes (Saturn) - One of my favorite games on the system, I'm happy to still own my original copy because it's REALLY expensive now! The music is mostly a blend of orchestral and electronics.

Wonder Boy III: the Dragon's Trap (SMS) - I got both the PSG and FM versions of this lighthearted soundtrack.

There's a whole bunch of stuff I can't rip. Sadly, all of KingTengu's Requests are impossible, as well as Mr. Muay Thai's. Sorry, guys!

Ugh... Sucks, lol. :P

But fret not!! I came up with some suitable replacements requests (it's still the third of my final requests, just switched it up this time).

- Halley Wars (Sega Game Gear - Based on the arcade version, but features new music along with rearranged ones from the arcade original.)
- WCW vs. The World (Sony PlayStation - The start of bigger and better things for AKI's later wrestling games for the N64. Not sure if it's included, but can you also include the intro song for the Japanese version, Virtual Pro Wrestling, just for completion's sake?)
- WWF Wrestlemania Steel Cage Challenge (Sega Master System - This version has a few different wrestlers from the NES version, like Ric Flair.)

Hope these replacements will do.

I thought I responded to that? I think it was a merged post. I said there's not HOOT set available, but nx666 is pretty good at finding ways to get around that, so you may want to ask him.

New today is Yo-Kai Watch for the 3DS. It's based on an anime or... something. I don't know, I don't watch anime at all. Anyways, the music visits all sorts of moods, from goofy to sad. It's semi-tagged based on the filenames from the game itself, but could use a cleanup if possible.

That's all for now!

Oh, OK! I didn't see your answer so I thought you ignored it. Anyways, if there is no HOOT-hoot (you know, that Pokmon) set file available, can't help it then.

Youkai Watch is Level-5's newest mixed media project, with games, anime, manga and so on. The composer is Saigou Ken'ichirou. I have upped the full 3CD OST (covers music from YW and YW2) here:
Thread 195546 - maybe it helps.

Both have been ripped already. The latter is under "The Contra Adventure," it's technical real name. Also, try a "please" and "thank you" every once in a while, please? I just ripped over 1gb of music for you and see no gratitude.

Well if you were to ever watch any anime, you should watch Neon Genesis Evangelion. Its such a deep, psychological experience. It teaches you a thing or two about where you need to be mentally, and where you find happiness. Of course to anyone who already knows this and applies it to their life its still worth a watch, more than that actually, and is a great show nevertheless.
Because when you are at my age (15 years old), really any age to the point to where you can understand it, its a great use to know. And the music, composed by Shiro Sagisu, is amazing also.

Edit: Here is the cover for Jaws I said I would post!

Alrighty, here's more tunes:

Puyo Pop Fever (GC) - Some fun tunes in the style of all of the other Puyo Puyo games.

Halley Wars (GG) - This was a tough one to track down! Pretty nice Japanese action tunes, though.

WCW vs. The World (PSX) - Rock track and synth tracks in a multitude of styles. Anyone know the composers for this one?

Mister Mosquito (PS2) - Some jazz, some rock, some funk... I'm kind of reminded of a more serious-sounding Katamari soundtrack. Quite good. Tracks are named as they were found on the disc.

I couldn't rip WWF Wrestlemania Steel Cage Challenge (Sega Master System) because no source files exist at this point.

Hey Ruiner,

I had two requests. First, the original Donkey Kong Country for SNES. I figured it would've already been requested, but I don't see it under the SNES section (I'm having to redownload a bunch of things due to a computer issue). The other is a PS1 game, Sentinel Returns (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9I7p1ANu_j8). It's an obscure and pretty weird puzzle game, but it's notable because the soundtrack was at least partially composed by director/composer John Carpenter.

London Racer (PS1) - Even as a kid I knew this game wasn't exactly great, but the OST is pretty decent (and nostalgic for me).

Dragon Warrior 1 + 2 (GBC)

Dragon Warrior 3 (GBC) - I'm hunting these two games down as it's the closest a PAL user can get to the NES Dragon Quest 1-3, and having the OST too would be great.

Thanks in advance! Once I get through the assignment I'm working on i'll tag Type 4.

There's a bunch of new soundtracks here, so off we go:

Donkey Kong Country (SNES) - Like I need a description fr this one.

Sentinel Returns (PSX) - Check out PixelTunes Radio episode 40 for a pretty educational discussion about this game. It's quite unique.

Chrono Cross (PSX) - Not much here that isn't in the retail soundtrack... actually the gamerip source files include music from the OST discs when they couldn't be ripped from the game.

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon (GB) - Can't say I'm a big fan of this one, but it's not the worst I've ever heard.

Wonder Boy in Monster World (Genesis) - Quite surprisingly good! I don't care for any of the other WOnder Boy soundtracks, but this one has some great melodies and percussion.

Wonder Boy in Monster Land (SMS) and (Arcade) - Three flavors: SMS PSG, SMS FM, and Arcade PSG. Hooray!

Finally, a batch where I didn't have to list a ton of unrippable games! Haha!

No I'm gonna go steal all of my kids' Halloween candy.... :D

KingTengu retagged and ordered Halley Wars (GG)! Thank you, sir!

Here's what I've worked on this weekend:

Dragon Warrior 1 & 2 and Dragon Warrior 3 (GB) - GB-styled remakes of the DW series' music.

London Racer (PSX) - Not sure about this one. The music isn't bad, but it's really short and fades out quite awkwardly. Three different game images did this, so I guess this is how the soundtrack is.

Custom Robo GX (GBA) - A fun collection of music written by Shinji Hosoe and other members of Namco's Sampling Masters team.

Bomberman Jetters (GBA) - Good stuff! I'm happy to report that thanks to my bilingual friend Bryan from the Pixelated Audio VGM podcast, I was able to list the composers for this game (Aya Tanaka and Tohei Bandou). That info doesn't appear anywhere else in the English web.

Sengoku Kakumei Gaiden (GBA) - For a feudal Japanese action RPG, this has some groovy tunes. I couldn't find any composer listings for this one in English or Japanese, though.

Queen's Blade - Spiral Chaos (PSP) - Well-produced music that sounds like it's straight out of an anime.

OK, that's it for now! Enjoy!

Thanks so much for Dragon Warrior 1-3, they all sound fantastic as always! And yeah, London Racer's music is really short, but it does loop in game. I can't remember how, though.

I'll tag London Racer with it's PC song file names right now, but when you retag the soundtrack could you possibly remove the two seconds of silence at the start of the tracks? I've found out it is your PS1 ripping method that causes this, as I ripped a few games I have requested before myself and the resulting songs didn't have the silence.

- E-Swat (Sega Master System - An adaptation of the arcade version. Has some tracks from said version as well.)
- Hydlide 3: The Space Memories (MSX - The sole exception to the MSM request. I've requested this game from other systems (PC-88, Genesis, and Sharp X68000), but I've missed out on requesting the MSX version... until now.)

Here is my final offer for you guys to keep my site alive for another year:

An Important Announcement

My MEGA expanded account expires on November 22. At that time, I will be retiring from soundtrack requests. I need to give more time to my podcast, which is getting more popular with every episode, and my family.

So what happens next? That's up to you guys! I'm willing to keep the site alive for another year with your donations, so you have access to the thousands of hand-made soundtracks I've made, plus I promise to update it regularly with soundtracks of my own choosing, plus take *suggestions* from visitors, but those will be at my own discretion.

It's roughly $100 USD to maintain the MEGA account for a year, so donations can be made to:

https://www.paypal.me/ruiner9

All donators will get one last round of 5 filled requests, meaning you request 5 albums, and if I can't do it, you can request another one until I can fill 5 requests.

Please PM me if you have questions, I don't want to clog the thread with discussions about this, seeing as it will still be business-as-usual for a couple more weeks. :)

Thanks again, guys! :)

Threads of Fate (PSX) - An RPG soundtrack with more of medieval feel, as opposed to the usual orchestral stuff.

Away - Shuffle Dungeons (DS) - It's Uematsu! You should know what to expect. Or do you? :)

Calling (Wii) - This game is all about learning to use a telephone. NO! It's a horror game with a soundtrack reminiscent of both Silent Hill and John Carpenter.

Hydlide 3 - The Space Memories (MSX) - Simple and fun tunes.

E-SWAT (SMS) - That level 1 music has a crazy lil' groove to it, no? Nice.

Batman Returns (SMS) - Koshiro's at the helm, arranging some of the original tunes and adding some of his own flair.

Tak 2 - The Staff of Dreams (GC) - Jungle-inspired platformer music. It feels like the logical progression the music would have taken if the Joe & Mac games on the SNES were still being made today.

And that's that. Peace out!

Awesome, thanks ruiner!! And I believe John Cleland of Mai Tai Studio is the composer for Tak 2, according to the game credits.

You probably mean Kevin Cleland. Mai Tai Studio were responsible for the voice talent in the game. He was credited as "sound studio" because he was an engineer for the VO. He was credited more specifically for this on TMNT and Scooby Doo! Unmasked. I'm sure the composer is lumped in with all of the other Avalanche employees in the credits, but since they don't say which member had which role, it's impossible for me to tell.

Game developer and publisher Jaleco was the underdog, struggling for a foothold in the gaming industry alongside giants like Capcom and Konami. While they may not have been as successful as their competitors, they released quite a few gems, and with those gems came some amazing music, In-house composers like Yasuyuki Suzuki wrote some amazing pieces for Jaleco, and we’ve dug up a bunch of his best works and more!

Tak 2 - The Staff of Dreams (GC) - Jungle-inspired platformer music. It feels like the logical progression the music would have taken if the Joe & Mac games on the SNES were still being made today.

And that's that. Peace out!

Whoot! Thank you!

Queen's Gate: Spiral Chaos (http://www.gamefaqs.com/psp/616019-queens-gate-spiral-chaos) is actually the request you granted's sequel. The Queen's Blade series itself is based on a series of tabletop character books known for their...art. The question of the game is: Is it rippable?

Also I sent a PM to you regarding donations.

Hello, ruiner. Got some more Master System/Game Gear requests for you!!

- Aerial Assault (Sega Master System - A basic shmup game developed and released by Sega.)
- Captain America and the Avengers (Sega Game Gear - A small-sized port of the Arcader version. Music is "not up to par", so to speak, but requesting it anyways, lol.)
- Chakan: The Forever Man (Sega Game Gear - A downsized Genesis port and graphics and music.)

Have a great Wednesday, ruiner!!

A bit late for this, but thanks again for the GBA uploads, Ruiner! :) But regarding the Bomberman Jetters soundtrack, are you sure that one of the composer names isn't Shohei Bando, rather than Tohei? Because incidentally, that's also the name of one of the composers for the couple of DS Bomberman soundtracks I uploaded quite recently.

Anyways, I have a single request this time around, and surprisingly, it's NOT for a GBA game! I was wondering if it's possible for you to grab a rip for Kidou Senshi Gundam Seed for the PS2? Note that I'm not talking about Battle Assault 3 here (which I already uploaded to my own thread), but this title. (http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/561947-mobile-suit-gundam-seed) As always, thanks in advance for looking into it!

This was the name given to me by a person who translated the Kanji at the end of the game. It's possible the name can be translated two ways. His wife is a native speaker, though, so I'm fairly sure it's accurate in terms of the translation... though it may actually be the same person regardless.

It's the first donation! Thank you! I'm taking it year-by-year at this point. If this year's donations succeed, it's a successful 2016, and it's not taking too much of a toil on my personal life, I'll keep it going.

Also, I'll add this to the OP too... KusanagiShiro has graciously offered to match every donation! That means he'll match Marigio300's $5, making it $10 so far. With his help, we only need to raise $50 total from other donators! Also, if I don't meet funding, I will refund you guys. I'm not gonna run off with the money or anything. :)

It happens to the best of us! To your credit, the guitars make it sound quite a bit different. They used this song a lot on Tallarico's TV show, too... it must be a favorite of his.

What MEGA plan are you using? Another question, how much space will you use for all your stuff (or some)?

ruiner9
11-08-2015, 01:07 PM
Important! Please Read:

Yesterday was kind of a roller coaster, and I have to retract some stuff I wrote. When user Althegamefreak made his donation, it came through as a whopping $155! I was shocked, and immediately PM'd him to make sure he really wanted to donate that much. He said yes, and so I made a post here announcing we were funded for the next two years. About 5 or 6 hours later, he realized that he had meant to only send $15! He contacted me about it, and I refunded him his money, so he can send the correct amount.

So, what does this mean? It means that technically, with Althegamefreak's pending $15 and KusanagiShiro's promised pending contribution, we are funded for 2016! So that doesn't change. The obvious correction is that 2017 isn't funded, so anyone that donates on top of what's pending/ promised will go towards 2 years from now. Otherwise, I'll have a donation drive just the same as I did this year.

So, that being said, sorry for the confusion and I'm looking forward to supplying you guys with a bunch more great music over the next year! And don't worry, I'm not just going to post the stuff that I listen to... you can expect RPG and symphonic soundtracks, too. :)

---------- Post added at 07:07 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:03 AM ----------

What MEGA plan are you using? Another question, how much space will you use for all your stuff (or some)?

I'm using the PRO I plan from Mega, it's about $100 USD per year for 500gb of space. At this time, I'm using 209gb of it. Their next tier down (the free plan) only provides 50GB so that's obviously not an option. The account is strictly used for VGM and podcast-related activities, I don't store anything personal on that account. I use my Dropbox for that.

Shadowrun for SNES (every rip I've found for this game is missing a crucial track...Maria Mercurial's hard rock!)

Hmm, yeah, the SPC set is missing that track. I think it's because (if I remember correctly) you can't actually start that track normally. You hear it muffled outside of the club and then it continues at a louder volume when you finally get in. That kind of stinks. I can still rip the rest if you want.... up to you. SNES rips are very easy.

EDIT: Scratch that! Found it! :) It's called "The Cage," which is the name of the club Maria's band is playing at. It's in queue!

Cho Aniki Zero (PSP) - Some "pump-you-up" music. The audio on the disc is very low quality so it sounds a bit tinny.

Burning Rangers (Saturn) - I love the game, but was never a fan of the soundtrack. I feel like it's not intense enough.

Game & Watch Gallery 4 (GBA) - A selection of nice enhanced Game Boy style tunes.

Mario Tennis (N64) - Kind of like Mario Golf, but a bit more upbeat.

02_Trackname
etc...

You don't need to include the .mp3 at the end. :)

Is there an easy way to tell which soundtracks you've updated?

When you enter the Mega folders, you can sort by date, so you can put the most recent additions at the top. Just click on "Date Created" at the top of the list.

I don't have enough time, so I'm just gonna list the new stuff before I go to work:

Yoshi's Island (SNES)
Thunderbirds (NES)
Batman Forever (GEN)
Mobile Suit Gundam Encounters in Space (PS2)
Mobile Suit Gundam - Journey to Jaburo (PS2)
Fighter & Attacker (Arcade)

I couldn't rip Zeonic Front: Mobile Suit Gundam (PS2) and I'm still working on Alien Syndrome (Arcade) since it's a manual recording. Also, Queen's Blade - Spiral Chaos (PSP) and the Queen's Gate game were accidentally the same OST! I corrected it, and now Queen's Gate - Spiral Chaos (PSP) is correct.

I've confirmed KusanagiShiro's donation will be arriving within the week, and I've sent a PM to Althegamer since I haven't received the correct $15 donation from him after I refunded his erroneous amount. I feel like a businessman over here! LOL

PLEASE NOTE:

This Sunday, 11/15/15, will be the last day for requests! After that, I will finish up the queue and start with personal uploads/ retags/ corrections only from that point forward. :)

The new stuff:

Alien Syndrome (Arcade) - A creepy collection of action tunes.

Galaga '88 (Arcade) - So many versions of Galactic Dancing!

Game Boy Camera (Game Boy) - Tons of quirky music from Hip Tanaka and Minako Hamano.

Thousand Arms (PSX) - Sequenced music, and a LOT of it. The title track is pretty J-Pop, though.

Shadowrun (SNES) - One of my favorite SNES games. The music is gritty and the game is even grittier.

Shiki Eiyuu Den (SNES) - A mid-tier RPG soundtrack. Not mind-blowing, but still pretty good.

Star Trek - The Next Generation - Future's Past (SNES) - After a markedly thin rendition of the show's theme, it embarks on some pretty nice light rock tunes.

Star Trek - Starfleet Academy (SNES) - Ken Allen opted for more of a symphonic soundtrack for this one. Play it in your car and pretend you're piloting a runabout!

And BOOM. Quite a haul. Until next time, see ya!

OK, AlTheGamer came through with his $15! So that's $95, and I told KusanagiShiro he'd only need to send me $25 because I'm not greedy.

Once that's in, we'll be at $120. Because the USD to Euro exchange rate has changed, and the VAT is a whopping 18.99 Euro, it's about $130 for the next year. I have no problem with chipping in the last $10, but *if* there's anyone who wants to get in a last round of requests, you can donate it and I won't say no. :)

Anyways, thanks to everyone, again, who's helped this thread out... whether it's by donations, tagging, or error checking!

Man, two days until the final requests, huh? Hmmmm...

Well, I was going to make my final request tomorrow, but when I saw the 11/15/15 part, I decided "what the heck? I'll just make my final request right now instead!" So, to thank you for posting such wonderful VGM, here is my final request to you, ruiner...

- Kabuki Rocks (Super NES - Another Tsukasa Masuko composed soundtrack. Masuko sure did some excellent music in the video game world, right there with Yuzo Koshiro, Motoi Sakuraba, Michiru Yamane, David Whittaker, Chris Hulsbeck, and many others.)
- Metal Slader Glory: Director's Cut (Super NES - A remake of the NES sci-fi adventure game with redone music.)
- Sengoku no Hasha: Tenka Fubu he no Michi (Super NES - A version of the PC-88 game by Game Arts, and released by Banpresto.)

Aaaaaaaand, that's it! My final ever request to you, ruiner! Wow, it's been a few years since I discovered this topic on the forum and enjoyed all the stuff you've posted here (and requested, too). I will, of course, continue to follow this board and listen to your podcast as always, and I want to say once again, thank you for all the wonderful VGM, Ed (wow, this is the first time I ever said your first name, lol)

Until then, take care and stay gold!! :D

Thanks, KingTengu! Over the coming year, I'll probably still ask for suggestions once in a while to fill out certain consoles that don't have big collections. So look at the smaller folders and think of some good ones! :)

There's a few more I've just ripped (that's all for the day... promise!)

First off, I've reripped Super Mario Land and Kirby's Dream Land for the Game Boy. Great soundtracks sound better now!

Also, the NDS remake of Chrono Trigger is new. It's an enhanced version of the original SNES music. Is it better? Hmmm. It might be!

Lastly, Chō Aniki Seinaru Protein Densetsu (PS2). Expect the usual weird male chanting and powerful music. What a weird (but fun!) series.

Okay, ruiner, since I most likely won't be on the computer tomorrow or Sunday (for multiple reasons), this may be my last chance to make a request. So, how about trying The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night for PS2 and Wii? The game never got a soundtrack release like A New Beginning did, and it's got some awesome orchestral music.

Thanks so much for all these rips from the past year! I hope I can come up with just one or two final ones before tomorrow.

I've actually started getting the hang of ripping music myself now, currently I've managed to successfully rip Non Redbook PS1 & PS2 games. I have to ask though, are there any quirky formats that PS1 music can come in that requires a specific technique? I'm hoping to be able to rip the Menu themes from the old UK PS1 Demos that came with Official PlayStation Magazine, of which I have recently acquired in a large quantity, but so far I haven't been able to. They aren't XA audio for sure, maybe they can't be ripped.

If they are just menu themes, why don't you try to record them directly from an emulator or a real ps1?

If they are just menu themes, why don't you try to record them directly from an emulator or a real ps1?

That's an option. Sometimes just doing a google search on the file extension will yield some result, or browsing the HCS forums. I use a fantastic piece of software for the PSX called jPSXdec which essentially analyzes a game image and gives you a file tree, breaking multi-track XA and STR files into individually exportable wav files. It's been invaluable.

MOV_Games
11-14-2015, 08:14 PM
Recording them through an emulator would be a final resort. And I actually already have jPSXdec, but haven't been very successful at using it. I guess it only works on ISO's, not Discs?

ruiner9
11-14-2015, 08:26 PM
Correct. You can always make an ISO from the disc using ImgBurn or something similar.

Geez, I'm gone for a few days, and not only do I find out the MEGA donation drive is over (was gonna throw in a couple bucks myself), but today is also gonna be the last day for requests? Well, might as well make my last ones, then:

-Kidou Senshi Gundam Seed (PS2) (Brought this up before, but it might have been forgotten under the piles of other requests, heh.)
-Blender Bros. (GBA) (Final GBA request! As always, whether it's a clean rip or not is your call, not mine.)
-Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson (3DS) (Personally, I'm more interested in getting a rip of SK Burst (the first game in the series), but it looks like the sequel's the only one ripped so far, so I'll just go for that instead.)

And that's it from me. Thanks in advance, and good luck in your future endeavors! :)

Rayman Revolution (PS2) - Rayman 2 but with even more music.
Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc (PS2)
Rayman M (Arena in the US) (PS2)

I would make some last requests....but truthfully, I ran out of requests for awhile. Though, that wasn't entirely the reason I remained quiet; it's mainly due to entering a phase of not feeling like downloading VGM for awhile and that kind of tied in with the whole retagging as well somehow. I think I'll try to get back into doing retags, though.

With that said, I have to thank you for taking your time in making and posting these rips, ruiner! Because of this thread, I managed to gain a lot of VGM: plenty were new that I never heard before prior from entering here and then some. That's what I liked about it from the start; it gave me something to look forward to every day.

New Stuff:

SNES

Sengo Kuno Hasha - Traditional Japanese music mixed with war tunes. Sounds very much like a lot of the Nobunaga's Ambition series music.

Metal Slader Gloy - Director's Cut - Hmm. An acoustic soundtrack on the SNES. Interesting.

Kabuki Rocks - Nothing really special about this RPG-sounding soundtrack, but it's certainly not awful.

Saturn

Necromicon - Digital Pinball - I was just watching a review of this on Game Sack. It's a mediocre pinball game with an 80's metal soundtrack, complete with vocals and story narration.

Kidou Senshi Gundam Gaiden I - Senritsu no Blue - Oh, Gundam games. There are way too many of them lol.

Unrippable

Mobile Suit Gundam: Lost War Chronicles (PS2)
Gundam Side Story 0079: Rise from the Ashes (Dreamcast)

hey that's strange. most reviews says it's kinda really good videogame pinball. That developer also did nice pinballs for SNES before.

as for Game Sack, they are excellent guys but PLEASE PLEASE dont watch them for opinions. Watch them for LEARN new games! Coz their thoughts can be pretty strange and awkward yet those guys shows many interesting games you have never played or even heard.

Lights! Camera! VGM! Video games based on movies have generally garnered themselves a bad reputation. While it does seem that most of them were rushed out the door by their publishers, many of those games’ composers made sure to provide excellent soundtracks to make up for it. Talented folks like Jonathan Dunn, Barry Leitch, and Hitoshi Sakimoto have all lent their skills to these licensed titles at one point or another, and Mike and Ed share some of their favorite tunes from games based on films. Grab some overpriced popcorn, pick your seat, and enjoy!

Legend of Spyro - The Eternal Night (PS2) - A very long and very cool soundtrack featuring alternate versions of many of the tunes found in the game.

Thanks for ripping this! Honestly, I loved the direction that Sierra took with this trilogy. It was vastly different from the more nonlinear platforming Spyro titles, but the mature setting still felt suitable for a purple dragon that originally came off as "cutesy". And of course the music is worth bringing up.

I made a thread for the Legend of Spyro soundtracks, but it's severely lacking compared to all of the in-game cues. Perhaps there'll one day be a project to present the full thing in a detailed and tagged package...

You guys want some 16-bit goodies?

SNES

Smart Ball - Some decent action game music.

Spanky's Quest - Jazzy, funky tunes keep Spanky's quest fresh and energetic.

Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow - Here's a martial arts game starring Donald Duck. IDK. The music is cinematic and well written.

Daffy Duck - The Marvin Missions - (SNES) - I don't think Jim Hedges composed any other SNES soundtracks besides this one. That's probably a good thing.

Garfield - Caught in the Act - And rounding out our cartoon corner today is Garfield. Thankfully, this one has some great tracks!

You probably missed the post. Althegamer accidentally sent me $155 instead of $15, so I had to refund him. :(

Ruiner,

If KusanagiShiro doesn't come through to send you the $25 that originally was "pledged" to you, let me know.

My offer: I'll kick in another $12.50 if you'll cover the rest Ruiner (the other $12.50).

It's looking like that will be the option we'll have to use, Cyquest, since it's 11pm here and he hasn't answered my PMs. I can convince my wife to let me kick in the $12.50, the full $25 would be harder for her to accept. Thank you!

Done.

Update on the Mega account situation for the sake of transparency: It expires tomorrow, and KusanagiShiro said he'd have $25 for me on the 18th, which I still haven't received. Hopefully he'll come through!

I have the money and can make it to an ATM in the morning and ruiner's PayPal is bookmarked on my iPhone, so it will be made. I've been posting from my phone.

The reason I failed to make it before the 22nd was actually illness; when I get sick, I get REALLY sick. I threw up at work on Weds, forcing me to leave early, and that turned out to be the precursor to an apparent case of bronchitis that has kept me semi-bedridden since Thursday. Recovering or not, sick or not, I'm transferring it tomorrow.

I tired to buy a voucher for the MEGA account and my bank put my entire checking account on hold for "suspicious activity" due to the international transaction! (And no, there aren't any US-based MEGA voucher sellers.) So I'm waiting for it to get cleared up. Links may go down temporarily if the account expires before the voucher comes through (The account expires about 2 hours from the time of this posting) but hopefully it can be restored once payment goes though.

Nothing's ever easy, is it? :(

Oh, by the way, Sonic Rush (DS) and Senran Kagura 2 - Deep Crimson (3DS) were uploaded over the weekend. :)

Can ruiner9 please send me the rest of the DDR Konamix set that was cut off? AM-3P 303 Bass Mix was the one song missing from the play, and there are some other tracks such as the Options screen. Thank you!

That's it! See ya!

It's been a Two hell of a great years here on this lovely PixelTunes Forum! Indeed all of the wonderful people that I've meet on this forum is staggering and the sheer dedication that Mr.Wilson has put in ripping VGM without having to beg or pled for a single penny is truly admirable!

I have since stumbling across this Forum moved on to do my own rips with out any assistance though I would not be in the piston that I'm currently if it wasn't for Mr.Wilson! So let's t̶a̶k̶e̶ give a moment of silence to honor the legacy Mr.Wilson has left behind and cherish it for all it's

worth!

Now to the contrary will you still be on the Pixel Tunes Fourms, and if so would you ever listen to anyone's suggestions for vgm music?

Other wise we would all like to Thank You dearly for you're contributions to the VGM community and would like to wish You & Mr.Levy Good Luck to whatever you guys plan on doing with the PixelTunes name!

I ripped what was rippable on that disc. That's all I can do. Mega is down until the money situation gets sorted anyways.

I'm not retiring the thread! I'll still be here to talk games, make corrections to existing titles, and adding new soundtracks of my choice. The podcast will still go on, and I have another chiptune-based podcast in the works as well. :)

That's Fantastic! Speaking of obscure Japanese Computers the X68000 is fantastic though have you ever used hoot Sound Emulator? For those who don't know hoot is a Sound Emulator that can replicate many of the Soundchip that are usually found in many of the obscure Japanese computers such as the X68000 and PC88! However for some reason the audio quality is quite poor and it is the only program that I'm able to abstract soundtrack from the X68000 port of Fantasy Zone with the Wicked Awesome rearrangements of Classic Fantasy Zone Tracks! Though if you have had any experience with hoot then please let me so I am aware of what is need! Other then that have a wonderful day Sir Wilson! :)
