Seconded. I think this soundtrack absolutely marvellous. A masterpiece of mix between chiptune and modern rythmics.

By the way, I'm currently looking for the Bionic Commando OST (http://vgmdb.net/album/14668) in FLAC version... If anyone have it by here, I'll be greatly grateful :)

Heh, I didn't like the Bionic Commando Rearmed music at all, and thought they were really poor remixes of the awesome old NES songs.

Everyone has a different taste, but at least it isn't as bad as the remixed soundtrack from Star Fox 64 3D. Aside from maybe one or two tracks, all of the new versions are worse than the originals from the Nintendo 64 version.

In terms of the links going down, I'd advise you guys against wasting any time with URL protection, weird file names, extra long passwords for strong crypto etc etc because it does nothing to stop links getting reported, and instead tends to make it a hassle for anyone who's actually just after the files. When one of these locker companies get issued with a takedown request they take down the content. It's that simple. After MegaUpload absolutely none of them are in the mood to be arguing the toss over a report of copyright infringement. They do not stroke their chins whilst examining the merits of each individual legal complaint. They certainly don't employ some super-secret RSA codebreaking technique to examine the contents of an encrypted RAR file. They just take that shit down.

Ok, so i moved the other stuff to the discussion thread to clean things up a bit, if people want to continue the previous conversation, head over there. Might have to seriously consider closing this thread and starting a new one if all this stuff keeps happening.

Anyone willing to take over and continue to add links to the first page of a new thread can pm me and get things started. If nobody wants to do that, i guess this thread will continue as is, until i get the will to start things myself.

I think we should keep the thread as it is now and if any discussion starts, ignore it, we all can avoid to get Jesse to take extreme measures. Like I said before, let's move on and pretend this never happened.

Maybe we should not even keep track of the Links on Page 1, since they expire very fast.
If looking for something, you always can use "search this thread"
But we should place a very good Tutorial there (Vegetas ?) on how to RIP a Disc correct with EAC.
And why not using crap stuff like Medieval CUE Splitter (PC) (http://www.medieval.it/cuesplitter-pc/menu-id-71.html) but give tips on how using cueTOOLS
And post which Filehosts are recommend and wich not.(Everbody will scream Mediafire)

Just my opinion.

But we should place a very good Tutorial there (Vegetas ?) on how to RIP a Disc correct with EAC.

Just gonna chime in with some info (no trolling or flaming): every tutorial out there right now is getting the offset wrong. Andre offset everything by +30 when he created EAC, so many Plextor drives should be 0 not +30, many Optiarc drives should be +18 not +48, etc. A user named IpseDixit did tests analyzing the pits and lands of a CD with special equipment and contacted Plextor about his results and confirmed that many Plextor drives have a 0 read and 0 write offset.

@Andre Wiethoff and who feels to have a say on offsets. (http://www.digital-inn.de/exact-audio-copy-english/28787-andre-wiethoff-who-feels-have-say-offsets.html)

Furthermore, nobody takes into account that not only do consumer drives have offsets, but so do pressing plant equipment. So, for instance, with the Atelier Iris ETERNAL MANA Original Soundtrack, (using a Plextor PX-716A, 0 offset in itself) you actually have to rip the first disc at -642 offset and the second disc with a +17 offset to grab all the samples on the disc. Otherwise, you lose samples, and there is nothing lossless about losing samples (hence the term lossless: you're not supposed to lose anything). Of course, you need a drive that can overread into the lead-in and lead-out for this to be possible. The problem is that people don't want their precious Accuraterip results to have to start all over, so rather than achieve actually accurate results, they'd rather be exactly as inaccurate as everyone else just so that all their inaccuracies will match up.

Andre has actually admitted that he didn't know what offset should be the reference offset for every drive, and just based his findings on CDs he tested. He says so in his first response in that thread.

I had (and have) only limited instruments for measuring the real read offset. Anyway, the vast majority of CDs I measured at that time had the exact same offset (and most of them were from different studios and manufacturers!). So if around 6/10 CDs have the exact same offset, I must have come to the conclusion that this is the most valid offset. (And I did find some other offsets on CDs doing these tests...) Therefore I never have stated that my offset is the absolute correct and only possible (zero) offset.

Another thing you have to do is that when you have a hidden track (track 0), you need to rip with a -88,200 offset to actually catch the whole thing because of the pregap. I personally found this out myself, and then confirmed it with a post that pio2000 made a long time ago (this knowledge is actually really old and just nobody knows).
Offset question in EAC - Hydrogenaudio Forums (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=15110&st=0&p=175984&#entry175984)

the two "hidden tracks" that I've seen (Elegia - From within and another one that I don't remember of) fill all the track 1 index 0, thus can't be fully played rewinding from track 1 index 1, and can't be ripped by range, nor setting an offset correction (value out of range). The 2 first seconds are always missing. They can be ripped hacking the registry setting for read offset correction and setting it to -88,200, plus your usual read offset correction.
If we want to talk about truly being as lossless as possible, we need to stop ripping everything at a guessed-at standard and instead start catching every sample that's possible to catch (although sometimes it's actually not possible to catch every sample, which you probably also didn't know). Of course people won't want to change the way they rip and will rather be, again, as incorrect as everybody else. Personally, I'm not ripping that way anymore. I'm done being a sheep in a flock of paranoid sheep that don't understand what the settings they're using actually do, like disabling the cache really does and when it's necessary, C2 errors and what they really do, and offsets and how to actually use them, not just rip everything at the same offset and assume it's going to be correct every time. It's not that simple. Of course, most people would go "waaaah -642 offset this is WRONG" so I don't bother posting stuff anymore.

Yet another thing: are you all detecting ISRCs? Are you all adding CD-Text to your CUE sheets? CD-Text is a real attribute of CDs, not something you can just add. Your CUE sheet is a physical representation of what is on the original disc: pregaps, CATALOG/ISRCs, and CD-Text. When you add stuff like Title and Performer to each song's index, you are giving the impression that this data was present on the CD itself. Unless the CD actually had that information on it itself, you have given incorrect information in your CUE sheet by saying that the information was there when it wasn't. Anybody that owns, for example, the Perfect Dark Zero Original Soundtrack knows that when they put the CD in the drive, it comes up with information already there. That is the information you write to a CUE sheet; otherwise, you leave that stuff out, because it's not there. You don't ever add anything to a CUE sheet that's not present on the original CD because then you're not representing what's on the original CD. Of course people will just reject this information, they don't want to change the way they do things, nor can they understand that the way they're doing something is wrong because again, everyone else does it that way.

Just saying, what we think is the "best" way to rip right now could really change, people could become more aware of what the settings really do.
- Discs were found that need a +44 offset rather than a +30 offset as far back as 2006 (and probably further). Andre just didn't come across any of these discs, the furthest he found was +30, so he used that.
- The real offset is -30 from everything.
- Pressing plants have offsets too, and offset correction is useful for catching samples that would normally be lost because of the offset their equipment had.
All outlined here: Andre's EAC Offset Calculation - Hydrogenaudio Forums (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=50301&st=25&p=451726&#entry451726)

More about the actual offset: Andre's EAC Offset Calculation - Hydrogenaudio Forums (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=50301&st=0&p=450772&#entry450772)

By the way this post really is meant to inform, maybe people will read some of this stuff and learn some stuff. This isn't meant to flame people that don't know, but it is a shame when people read this information and either ignore it, or reject it and post back in anger. If you don't want to change the way you rip: totally fine. People rip with no LOG and CUE all the time, and just have the tracks. But don't force your method of ripping as the "correct" method and set tutorials up based on that method when it will achieve less-accurate results then someone else's. If we want to be as accurate as possible, let's use all the information that's come to light over the years, not just the information we like because it's the way we do it right now.

EDIT: And please don't move this to another thread, this is meant for everyone to see it in here. If it's moved to the other thread, nobody will read it because nobody checks that thread. We all just come here for lossless music, so at least let this information get as many views as possible.

WAY LATER EDIT: Thanks to anybody who's liked my posts thus far and anybody that does so in the future. Obviously I don't write to get likes, but it lets me know that people appreciate the information, which makes me feel like it was worth writing. I really do appreciate it.

There definitely are. I can't give you specific page numbers, but I know ow a FF9 and 12 OST within the past 30 pages. However BakaBT has a FF collection torrent that has several times more FF content than this thread, and is als much easier and faster.

Yes, that's the one. It sounds better than the Japanese one, though it does have it's flaws (mainly the noise on 2:17 in Rebellion). I had this one, but I deleted it after downloading the japanese soundtrack, and i can't seem to find a working link for it anymore.

I wonder if this bad news had reached here a day or two before, but all 115 accounts now have to be bound with a mobile phone number in order to share the uploaded files, which applies to both uploaders and downloaders over there.

Almost the entire Chinese userbase raged over this, but it still can't be helped. The company have "issues" to deal with after all.

Worry not, as most people will be simply ditching 115 and move over somewhere else. kuai.xunlei.com is an ok and rather popular alternative, for instance.

Shame about 115 biting the dust. I still had a few files to grab on my list... but they weren't overly important albums - certainly won't be losing any sleep over them.

Speaking of which, since I was planning on moving my files over from 115 to HowFile, is kuai the better choice? Also, I noticed that railgun/jsharer seems to be inflicted by "amnesia" (referencing the "dusk maiden of amnesia" anime logo). So is it done for good, or are they cleaning again the database?

1. Xunlei Kuai is a good choice in China partially due to the overwhelming popularity of the Xunlei/Thunder download manager. Not sure if it works well with foreign connections though.
2. Usual maintenance and stuff.

Actually, I don't really know. My guess is that it is going to be released at Comiket, and then we can find it on a webshop or something (maybe). But, that's just a guess.

I hope that we can buy it somewhere else after Comiket.

Actually, I don't really know. My guess is that it is going to be released at Comiket, and then we can find it on a webshop or something (maybe). But, that's just a guess.

I hope that we can buy it somewhere else after Comiket.

That's what I was hoping as well.

The best audio splitter is GoldWave. Just get a torrent of the latest version and you'll be alright.
I've got a lot of albums where people have ripped the entire album into a single .FLAC file... luckily, the .CUE file can be opened with GoldWave. My only beef with that is no ID-tagging is present and it takes a shitload of time to spend updating the tags of each song.

lmao Thanks guys, I swear, I've been looking for any damn alternative as far as something to split cues with but google just throws tons of ads and other garbage amongst Medieval so I just didn't bother and dealt with using the shitty app.

EDIT: Chokes in CueTools as well. lol I actually already fixed the issue and got Medieval to rip it with proper timings and tags but I wanted to see if CueTools would get the job done without having to mess with the errors found in the cue file itself.

Please tell me that by "converting" you dont mean transcoding, right?

Spyro 1-3 was ripped and "remastered" in a thread by Raziel awhile back, I only kept them for 1 and 2 myself. Apparently the original files were in only normal PSF quality, and while different, I'd highly recommend Raziel's version.

By every soundtrack released, do you mean just the main OST 1-13? Or do you mean every official Square-released album thats Final Fantasy related, because I highly doubt that 2nd one even exists. There are some albums, particularly the ones printed on Vynyl that are pretty much impossible to find online as loss less. I'd believe any collection torrent you have may have atleast 80-90% of all the albums, but not 100%.

And if your torrent is from BakaBT, perhaps you exceeded your ratio, or perhaps they require a login to work. I know that I can't download anything from BakaBT anymore. Its hard to seed anything when you choose to download only rare stuff no one cares about.

Also, the official Rockman 7 OST is full of SFX and looping errors. You want the emulator rip labeled as "Mega Man 7".

Welcome back, Dopp! Seems like the link is already down... must be some kind of a record.

Fastest kill I've seen. Thanks anyway, man.

Looks to me as if 4shared (http://www.4shared.com/) is the best atm. The user, Api-Vat (who predominantly uses 4shared) is about the only user whose files are still up (some I think since last year)

Good download speeds and you can grab multiple files at a time without a premium account. Just can't use Jdowloader to get the files...

Regarding PeejeShare: that host is currently having problem with its servers... Files may pretty well be there, but because of what I believe is some kind of "desynchronization" between servers and system, the host is unable to "give" you access to the file. Of course, it stands to reason that always because of this crappy problem there's a chance you haven't actually uploaded anything on there.

I advise to drop Peeje, for the moment.

I'm amazed how few of you use multiupload. It's obviously the case that no one site is going to be bulletproof so making multiple mirrors at once is the sensible solution. You want to make it hard for whoever's reporting these links? Make more links in the first place.

Multiupload has been dead for a while, trust me i know, it was my primary host for a while.
The only reasonable multi-uploads site i know of still working is mirrorcreator, and in my case it's not much of an option, most people who ask me for uploads want it uploaded to mediafire.

Why does nobody use sendspace?

With the exception of MediaFire's free 200MB limit, its better than Sendspace for free users. Speeds and storage are superb for what Free users get to have, and files that go over a month without activity don't get removed/go dead, and its one of the few, if not only, free high-storage-high-speed service that also allows for many simultaneous downloads at once. Seriously download like 15 active mediafire downloads at once using J-downloader. MediaFire's free service is pretty much at par with many of it's competitors.

Course people rarely use Sendspace so I don't know for myself if it allows 15 simultaneous downloads for free users.

You want to make it hard for whoever's reporting these links? Make more links in the first place. You're so smart. and funny. and cool. But remember when MegaUpload fell? Well that prompted a chain reaction that led most sites in the related category to do what they can to cover their ass. If you're amazed that Multiupload has been used less and less since almost a year ago, then I'd say that its almost directly related to the fact that MultiUpload blocked itself from US users a long time ago. The site itself is displayed as just a white screen for me/us/them.

Though I don't see how multiupload's service of using other services would get them into trouble, but there seems to be no other explanation I can think of to why they blocked themselves.

Yes, it was from BakaBT.

Also what do you mean the "2nd one"? I only asked for one.

It's called "All Sounds from Final Fantasy I . II"
2nd one as in the 2nd option.

That there is no place on the internet where the complete FF music collection released by square exists (In lossless). I mean they get pretty damn close, like 85, 90, hell maybe even over 95% completion, but theres no 100% complete collection out there. CD isn't the only medium, square has released collector's edition stuff that no one has yet bothered, or able to rip lossless. Mind you its not impossible to rip lossless vinyl record, but not many internet sharers know, or even able, or even own limited release vinyl albums. I myself can't even find lossy rips of the two unique tracks from SQ TRAX.

But all of that information is useless to your plight. I was just correcting you for saying that you have a torrent that has every album when I know that all archives everywhere are missing some albums. In addition The person who originally uploaded that torrent hasn't updated his collection in some time. He's missing a handful of 2012 albums, and I even bought and sent him a copy of that DL only FF14 medly in 88.2hz lossless months ago and he hasn't put it in yet.

ANYWAYS less of me being a correcting kelly and more being a helpful heather. If you can't use BakaBT, its likely you're over-leeched or don't have an account. If you can't fix the problem youself, an alternate solution is thanks to the effort of Chn Ma Lang Qun from VNS: [Mp3] [Flac] [Sheet] All Sounds of Final Fantasy I (http://vnsharing.net/forum/showthread.php?t=262886)

The Mirror links are still active. You can either download each track one-by-one, or you can use J-downloader and copy this:

The best audio splitter is GoldWave. Just get a torrent of the latest version and you'll be alright.
I've got a lot of albums where people have ripped the entire album into a single .FLAC file... luckily, the .CUE file can be opened with GoldWave. My only beef with that is no ID-tagging is present and it takes a shitload of time to spend updating the tags of each song.

If the track times are the same, then just use VGMdb's freedb database to tag. It doesn't do individual artist tracks yet, but those are easy to do.

HF wasn't that popular, and the 115 private block started yesterday according to the article (which would be consistent with the DL I tried to DL last night). How recent have you tried a public 115 link?

And I've never encountered hotfile on ASTOST O.o
Most of them on FFshrine are dead too. And I don't think I've ever downloaded a flac collection from in almost a year. :o

Recently. The only change is that I had to transfer it to my own account and then create a DL link from there. No problem at all. As for myself, I still have to migrate from 115 to another service.

Not everyone in the thread uses ASTOST, and even less people actually have the the 6 points necessary to spare to unlock the DL link you're wanting. There is maybe only 1 to 3 people who watch this thread that are able to help you, and they probably haven't even signed on in the last 12 hours.

@Ivalice2 I'll wait then. But I would be interessed to know how it works. I don't know Chinese at all.ASTOST has a currency-like system. Members who provide music can choose to hide their download links at the cost of 0 or more points which leeching members must spend to unlock. Obviously 0 means free, and anything above costs points. The album you want costs 6, and a little more than half the links cost 1-3. Supposedly providing unique content or your own rips is what gets you points.

Not knowing chinese myself, I've mostly just stumbled through the sign up page and through most of the threads. Its mostly common sense to gather that doing nothing on the threads gets you nothing, so you can only download albums that cost nothing. Now I personally only seen one FFShriner thats actively sharing over in ASTOST's vgm section so as far as I know he's the only one on the top of my head that has the points necessary to help you, if he has any. His threads often charge 0 points, so I don't know if has any points at all. I don't know if doppler is willing to help you or not though. As much as my non-chinese can gather, ASTOST is a place that wants to remain private/exclusive, that sharing links outside the forums isn't allowed, though I don't know if the members actually respect that rule or not. I think they do, otherwise I'd see alot more favorable results when using google.

If you want an ASTOST account yourself, most of the registration is common sense. Theres a security question that Google struggles to translate which basically is asking whats the english name of the site, which is astost. thats as much as my astost knowledge will allow me to tell you. Other people most likely know more.

I would love to share but I'm pretty sure that what I got, it's already on there. That's what annoys me. On top of that, I'm not one to use EAC. I love lossless, but I'm not anal about how the rip is accurate to the CD. As long as it was ripped in lossless, one-track+cue or separate files, I'm happy. That's what annoys me the most because, I would share. There's also another problem : what I have. I don't have any "rare" or "exclusive" video game music or any music they might be intererssed in.

I've searched high and low for this album. Nothing comes out. Only that same V0 rip over and over again. Perfect Dark and Share return nothing. I know how to purchase the album but that would cost me AT LEAST 70$ CAD (item price + shipping in japan+ commission + shipping to Canada + other fees). So, yeah.

If anyone can help me out with this request, I'll be highly grateful.

ASTOST has a currency-like system.

Not quite true. I've been having my astost account for years without actually doing anything more than simply logging in and out and posting rather few replies, yet by just these means I can still receive enough points to purchase stuff!

And even if you don't share a lot of stuff, you quickly accumulate a shitload of (standard) points. I've got around 1800 points ATM, which I honestly don't know what to spend them on. OK, if you're one of those people who just downloads lossless rips for the lulz and to masturbate about them, well... then you might've a purpose for them. Sadly I'm the type who actually listens to the albums :)

Not quite true. I've been having my astost account for years without actually doing anything more than simply logging in and out and posting rather few replies, yet by just these means I can still receive enough points to purchase stuff!

My account is over a year old, I log in many times a month, I've posted around 40 times. I have no points, nor have I ever recieved a point. I can't read Chinese so my understanding of the site and their system is limited. I thought there was only one way to get points because simply logging in a few times a month and posting a thank you doesn't seem to be enough to get me anywhere.

I'll help you out by sharing the OSTs, but you gotta do some work too. Here's the deal:

Files are 215MB and 255MB.

I will/cannot be bothered to split the archives into 2 or more smaller parts.
I also cannot be bothered to create an account to upload a file.

So give me the name/link to an upload host that you prefer that allows free/unregistered users to upload and share files that are atleast 200-300MB. Anyone, not just you can provide the link/site name. I 'm willing to help by providing the music, I'm just not willing or don't want to be bothered to register somewhere and split my archive(s) into smaller parts.

Kind of a crappy hosting service, not giving you indication of uploading or not, I would hope that atleast paying members are treated with basic information. I opened up 4 different tabs and tried uploading multiple ways and just let the tabs be, waiting to see if they'd upload or not 10 minutes later... One of my tabs was a success. Anyways I digress...

The Quote and the Image are 2 different things.
The Quote is just from some selfish User who wanted me to re-upload something to Mediafire cause the host i use is too slow for him.

The Image links you to article of a asshole who wanna close Filehosts.

Does anyone happen to have the soundtrack of Legend - Hand of God?
The previous upload was on Megaupload, and you know...

MP3 would be fine for me (of course, the best possible quality is appreciated).

Some info for a possible uploader or anyone who is interested in that epic soundrack:

The now dead upload in the list at the beginning of this thread, has "(COMPLETE)" in the name. I'm not sure what it was supposed to mean, but...
Years ago, I downloaded that soundtrack from a website that unfortunately died some time after. And then I lost that album when the hard disk of computer I had it stored in broke. That album didn't have the 21 tracks you'll see if you look at the tracklist of Legend's official soundtrack, but rather many more. More than 30, if I remember correctly (of which, I clearly remember tracks 20 and 25 to be the most epic, and it's for those two in particular that I'm looking for this OST). Also, they were named only with track number, not title, so I don't know if they're included in some of the "normal" 21 tracks, and dunno if that "(COMPLETE)" was referring to this matter.
If you have them, please, share them.

Any chance of getting these re-uploaded? Snagged Unreal (Ripped) and Return to Na Pali before multiupload went down, but would love the others in lossless!

[QUOTE=Raziel08;1640189]my finished unreal saga lossless project: completly and properly tagged with covers. directly ripped from the original umx files, without clipping, resampling and wrong loops. others are ripped from physical discs with eac and converted/tested with latest dbpoweramp converter. then crosschecked with accurate rip database via foobar-file-verifier.

Ripped from the fully patched GOTY (Game Of The Year Edition) which contains more tracks than the original version from '99. Rip was done by using the XMPlayer for Winamp having problems with clipping, cues, missing trackparts, loops etc. I have included a cover and some tracks that are not appearing ingame, tracks from the beta version, and unofficial stuff from some of the artists websites.
