It's really good (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCabDpllstQ&feature=related), but the company is from Germany and cannot ship to the U.S., so I DID try to buy the real thing, but now I'm left to other options...

Apparently this soundtrack was only released in Europe. Contains 70 minutes of music on 1 disc.

Bad news about that Adagio / Sweetboox..... I'm almost half-way done with the FLAC image, but every time the .cue starts to download, it advances a bit then returns to 0.0% (eMule reports something about a part.met file being corrupted).

people create flac without cue, cause they want to store their CDs in a digital format, cause they own the CDs anyway.
For people who want to recreate the CD, that's unfortunate.
But I don't see the point, to discuss something like that over and over or IF you have the cue/log file, not to add a 3-4kb file.
But apart from that, the most important file is the one, storing the music data after all.

About the Ys series. I ran into it myself only about 2 months ago, starting with Ys I&II Complete Collection.The most positive aspect was, of course a fun game, but also the music.
I can't say too much about recommended albums, but everyone says the old PC Engine/NEC Soundtracks sounds best. I don't know if that's the "good old days" factor,
but I'm impressed how well that music was (around the 90s! were Uematsu tortured the people with midi scrunching. j/k)

I thought about adding samples, but that would have too much work, and the thread is big enough anyway (never ever mirrors again for such posts...)

Anyway, that's what I found as I had a quick search at Youtube:

Only crazy people dislike Falcom.

I will say a couple things about having CUE sheets: in CDs with suite tracks, the CUE sheets allow you to split the suite tracks into their individual song pieces, rather than having to listen to the whole suite every time. For soundtracks like Halo, I really like this option, cause I definitely like some parts of all those long 8 minute songs more than others. Without the original CUE sheet, even with a manually created one, you won't have the indexes to be able to split them with a CUE splitter program. Sure you could go in with a sound editor and try to hack it up yourself, but it's a pain. Also, for those that like to query the Accuraterip database, CDs with data tracks require you to sit there and put in possible data track lengths until you come up with the right one. The original CUE sheet will have the data track information in it and you won't have to do that. These things aren't absolutely crucial, but still a valid reason to keep this kind of file.

I won't say that having the original CUE is worthless, but obviously in cases other than these having the original CUE doesn't add much to the listening experience. I've just never seen much of a reason to delete them. They are very small files, usually a single sector on the disk (less than 4 KB), and including them only pleases more people who wish to keep a "COMPLETE" archive of the original. It's just a nice thing to do if you're uploading. Of course if your plan isn't to share, then why bother. But look at it like this: why do you share anyway? Is it to make yourself feel good, or is it to give other people something they will enjoy? Only more people will enjoy if you include a CUE. You don't have to like it, you just have to be courteous enough to accept the fact that other people like it.

Medina.. nobody is uploading cdimages without cues most are already split.

Secondly, if people want to recreate the CD so badly, why not actually buy the CD? Oh well whatever, just another reason I only share my stuff privately now.

I'm not sure that you understood. I wasn't talking about splitting standard tracks. I was talking about splitting tracks with multiple indexes, called a suite track. With Halo as an example again, the Delta Halo Suite is over 11 minutes. I like the second and fourth parts of it ("Wage" and "Dust and Bones" particularly), but don't care for the rest. When I want to hear those tracks, I don't want to listen to the whole suite, or have to go seeking through the song for those tracks. With the indexes in the original CUE sheet, it is extremely easy to split those tracks apart and play them separately. Of course most people that are uploading stuff are splitting from the original full image, but I was talking about splitting something already split, essentially. Again, I could go in with a sound editor, but that's a pain itself.

And as for buying the CD, that's kind of a moot argument on a thread whose purpose is to pirate every VGM CD you can think of. That would be like telling people to buy the CD if they wanted lossless because we only upload MP3 here, even though it would be silly to buy something just to obtain lossless because there are so many places you can download it. Likewise, there's no reason to force someone to buy a CD to get a CUE sheet because the creation of the CUE sheet is so riduclously easy that the only point to exclude it is personal (which is fine). But it's still not the best argument telling someone to buy just to get it, because they're downloaded every day. Think of this: you're telling someone to buy a CD to recreate it. But then why recreate it if you already bought it? That's sort of the point of being able to recreate it sometimes, is that you don't already have it.

And anyway I own hundreds of CDs physically (though not for the reason of getting my hands on a CUE sheet). If you're buying a CD just to get your hands on a CUE sheet, that's kind of weird. I don't mean any offense by any of this, but it just seems like there's so much more to buying music, like having all the original artwork, supporting an artist, making a real physical collection (some people actually like collecting CDs, like me!), and sure, being able to rip it yourself.

Hopefully you understand my argument for a CUE sheet. Even if not, just because you don't like them or see a point in them, plenty of people do. You don't have to understand why, but you also don't have to get on a person's case if they've spoken an interest in having the CUE sheet (though it's not right to complain of course). I'm not trying to defend anyone here, just trying to defend the interest in a CUE sheet.

It's fine if they want to be perfectionists, and only download albums containing a cue, but to openly complain about an album not having a cue IS rude. Especially when for some of us it can take hours to upload a soundtrack.

lost planet 2 soundtrack anyone? i have the lost planet 1 soundtrack for whoever is looking for it, but i need the second

There was a Lossy MP3 version with the Collectors Edtions (X360)....i think it was 280kbit.

so, I asked snkhero if he could reupload Parasite Eve II and he said he'd do it... it's been 3 months now and it's still "coming soon"... so does anyone have this? I'd really appreciate an upload of it. i have Parasite Eve 1 and its remixes, but not 2.

If it's lossy, but still comes from the original CD, I think it's still worth uploading. It just means that's the best quality we're going to get, but it's better than having nothing at all. However you might want to check if it's a legitimate release (not a bootleg), otherwise it's always best to seek out the official material and see if that's lossy as well.

If anybody has this PS1 game could you please rip the CDDA tracks from the game disc? Red Alert Retaliation has CDDA lossless tracks that are lossy in the games I have. If somebody can post the music from Red Alert Retaliation we can create a complete Frank Klepacki C&C discography between the two of us.

I'm not sure but I think the PS1 port of Red Alert has the same tracks as the computer version. I don't have the PS1 version of Red Alert so I can't check and know for sure.

I've been looking for the soundtrack of Quake: Methods of Destruction, a solo album by Sonic Mayhem (http://vgmdb.net/album/7505). I'd love to have it in lossless, but I can hardly even find MP3's of it - it's that rare. :\ And chances are if any one still has the disk it's been scratched to hell and back. But I'd thought I'd just shoot anyways.

Well, if you want to go the long way or handle it "manually"...
First use Monkey's Audio (http://anonym.to/?http://www.monkeysaudio.com/) to decompress the file back to Wave,
than use FLAC (http://anonym.to/?http://flac.sourceforge.net/download.html) to encode it to, well, FLAC.

You could also use Foobar (http://anonym.to/?http://www.foobar2000.org/) for this process (APE->FLAC).

Another comfortable possiblity would be dbpoweramp, but it is not free of charge.

After that, change the extension in the cue files to point to the .flac file (instead of .ape),
and split it to sepperated tracks.

If you still have questions about it, I'm sure your questions was already answered
in a forum like hydrogenaudio (http://anonym.to/?http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showforum=69).
(I think that didn't turend out like an how-to...)

Basically the original Voice Actors "playing" their roles like in a radio Drama.
But you might want to know, that the spoken Language is in Japanese.

Lunatic Parade Vol. 1+2 contains audio tracks, that weren't present in the OST,
and alternate with the Drama tracks.
Lunar Eternal Blue Prelude contains mostly Drama tracks, but Track 6 (Althena's Song)
features the full length Song of it's predecessor.
The Premium (Mini) CD was included with the japanese game of Lunar Eternal Blue,
starring a short Drama of Lemina and Lucia (wrongly labeled as Ruby and Lucia - yeah,
I though myself that's Ruby at the beginning... maybe the same voice actor - you

I never played the remakes, cause I never had the thought, the original was lacking something (well except FMV Quality -maybe-). ^^

If you're asking me which OSTs I enjoy the most my list would be like this:

Tales of Legendia (Simply rocks over all tales, it's not from Motoi though, electronic effects plus orchestra rulez)

Tales of Vesperia (Motoi did just a great job here, nice battles and BGM, relaxing yet exciting to hear, the OST is for the most part nicely done)

Tales of Abyss (Motoi did know how to properly use the ps2 for battles, most of the songs are quite active)

Tales of Eternia (Nice BGMs but battles are pretty nice arranged, not all stand out however)

Tales of Phantasia (I like the SNES music, haven't played to much the one from PSX, but keeps the awesomeness that I found when I first... when for my first time (note the redundancy) knew a tales game, Thor and Moria Gallery are songs that I just can't forget)

Tales of Symphonia -> meh... not good in my opinion
Tales of Destiny... I liked even less than Symphonia

And that's all, hope you my find my thoughts of some help.

Yeah, now if they could learn how to properly mix the audio instead of clipping it to hell on the tracks they want to sound epic. I can actually enjoy the tracks where it is properly mastered but the others sound like something out of Paprika and I don't mean that as a compliment.

But I have to say that if we're lucky, maybe with the low "coin price" we'll see a glut of these hit eBay and for those (like myself) who would like to own it as well, it won't be overly expensive (under $25) to get one. That being said, I'll have to bide my time with the first OST and the youtube rip of SMG2 for now :)

Oh and a big thanks to all the uploaders who keep this thread (and all the other upload threads) going. :)

Try again and again... Hotshare has an habit of doing that. Eventually the download will complete correctly.

Unfortunately, uploading to hosts other than Hotshare is a pain for the people who are doing the sharing because then a whole other list of things happen, most making the content ultimately unavailable. Megaupload and Hotfile seem to like to delete people's stuff (Hotfile less so). Mediafire corrupts uploads, forcing us to add recovery archives. Rapidshare requires us to split and forces users to wait extensively and download slowly. Filesmelt and Shareyourfiles aren't even reliable, and only accept very small files.

The reason I've chosen Hotshare many times is because it allows huge files to be uploaded, and it hasn't deleted anything yet (that I know of). Yes unfortunately it can cut off during uploading and downloading, but at least the file will still be there for you to try again, and there will be no wait time or download limits, and the speeds are pretty nice. For those experiencing problems with Hotshare files: be patient, and give it a lot of attempts. Try a download manager. Eventually you'll complete the file.

Fair enough, and thanks. Unfortunately here in Australia we have download quotas, so retrying 500mb files over and over isn't feasible.
Maybe I'll try at the end of the month just before my quota resets.

Wow, I've never heard of that (download limit enforced by region?), that's a real shame. Then I guess Hotshare is really not a good host for people in countries that do this kind of thing. Unfortunately like I mentioned before, many other options suck.

I'll try to get as much stuff up to Hotfile as possible, so that people don't have to use Hotshare, but at the same time it's hard to find a good host that won't corrupt / delete / limit / do whatever else. I wasn't aware of that kind of regulation though.

i just buyed rokman 10 image soundtrack takes 1 or 2 weeks get it

It's really frustrating to upload stuff at the moment (if you care about the duration).
Hotshare aborts my uploads latley, Hotfile deletes them quite soon (after a couple of weeks),
others are even worse and, well rapidshare is a topic for itself...

I understand this concern. To me hotshare's downloads not completing is far worse than hotfile or rapidshare. As long as hotfile lasts for a few weeks I think its better than others. Of course we could always go to rapidshare and then we'd end up with tons of parts and it gets annoying as an uploader because you have to be there to start the next one etc.

I'd kill for a reupload of "Symphonic Synth Suite "4.6 Billion Year Story" as both links are down at the moment :(

Or for that matter, a regular version of the soundtrack to E.V.O. - Search for Eden :)

I've been reuploading some things that people have been reporting are down. Sorry if you find something previously hosted at Filebanker that is no longer there anymore (they seem to have really gone with the whole "buy a premium account" thing now).

But really I'm posting to say this (not like you need my permission): feel free to add anything I've ripped and shared here to any torrent site. Or feel free to post it at any other message boards. Go ahead and split the tracks to FLAC too if you want. Actually I encourage spreading it around, because sharing is good, and I just don't have the bandwidth to share at all torrent sites. I'm sure people will do it anyway, but just to say it, it's okay with me (I think it should be okay with anybody). I'm not proprietary about my rips.

Great mentality Medina, that resumes my thoughts, really.

We're building this project with this main goal in head:
Archiving as many lossless albums found as we can with high quality standards
(complete tagging of each track, renaming every file and building a common folder structure for each album etc).

You can contribute albums in whatever format you want (APE, TAK etc etc), and once we verified they're indeed lossless+complete, we add them on the project under this form:

FLAC files (one file per track) <<< We take care about the converting, naming, tagging, organization...

btw thanks for your contribution on Rockman 10 + Inti bonus disc SNKHero, it's highly appreciated! :)
For example, with your contribution I completely renamed the files, added an embedded cover for every flacfile and reorganized the folders with our convention for when "I" and "R" torrents are ready.
(Thoroughly checked your submitted flacfiles, all were 100% tagged, spared some precious time :))

Well yeah but the other thing is when each user downloads only a few parts of a huge collection you end up with a bunch of seeders but nobody is actually seeding the full thing. Plus the initial seeding of anything over a few gigs takes FOREVER (see the lossless final fantasy collection torrents)

Wrong, or at last it's not true for everyone (quote from another torrent) :

Some people have what it takes to seed properly.

Initial seeding will indeed take time yup that's a bad factor, but once we have a solid base (65-70% of people are leeching the WHOLE torrent already it seems, those will make good seeds for other snatchers) it's gonna be ultra fast.

Two big advantages I find about this system is that everything is archived and won't have to be re-uploaded countless number of times + the sets are gonna be updatable through datfiles.

We're working like freaks on this project for weeks now (10-15 hours a day for me personally just to properly tag and rename every folder/file/organization) and I definitely think it's worth a shot.

Because of the stuff I been doing there (upload OSTs in FLAC) I have ten invites to give out (the website is a private tracker with invitation at the moment). I hope by properly tag you mean individual composers in the artist tag and not just shoving every composer involved in the artist field. Not that I'm overly bothered by it, but it kinda messes up last.fm statistics.

Good work none the less, I generally prefer Anime soundtracks as you know all too well.

I think it's a good idea. I often thought, how nice it would be, to just drop the folder "into the torrent" and seed it right away.
But you alternate the tracklists and rearranged everything (what is indeed necessary for big collections), but that destroys the purpose of posting it here in this forum,
since people would be forced to download the new torrent files to actually be able to seed it (so to not be able to use the files people got here to seed it immediatley).

Again it's a nice idea for an alternative source, or long time backup "preservation", but negative points of torrents (especially small fansite ones),
they often get abandoned one day (maybe in some years) after motivation or the original uploader disappears (other projects or losing interest), or the site get's closed.

Your work is greatly appreciated, as long as people remember, nothing is for eternity.

There are 2 main reasons why I rearranged everything:

1) I can't stand downloading an album that is totally untagged (or partially) and keep it like this. It's compulsive, I have to retag it + rename the folder etc for an user-friendly interface
(and besides it would make no sense to make torrents with separate rar'd files =p)

2) By renaming and organizing everything (files+folders) to the same model, the sets will be updatable in the future, which means everyone who snatched a previous "L" torrent (for instance) will be able to update to the new "L" torrent I'll compile (providing .dat files) without having to redownload the whole new torrent again.
People will snatch the new torrent (50GB let's say) but they will in fact download only 7GB (the new entries to the torrent).

I'm pretty sure a good majority of people enjoy to have tagged files, properly-named folders etc, so if I uploaded torrents with albums as they were released those people wouldn't be able to catch up the torrent anyway, cause they would have retagged/renamed the files themselves for a long time already.

(All the flacfiles were tagged using VGMdb FreeDB, so that's a good standard for quality) (All audiofiles are renamed this way: 01. Quiet Moments (track. tracktitle)

Anyway, yes it was a dilemma how to release albums, people will have to download large files from the beginning but once they do, updates to torrent will be snatched in a matter of hours.

And yes, as stated before noone is forced to download the whole torrents (some letters like F for example will be massive, if you want only FF7 OST you're free to take only this one) you can just download the albums from the contribution section we have on the tracker or any other place on the internet (GFF, FFS etc) but in a lot of cases the files/folders names will not appeal to you (typos, unexistent tag, scans etc).
We're trying to get rid of those existing problems and compile user-friendly collections that will be updatable.

Direct download and torrents both have their pros and cons. As long as original uploaders consent to the conversion to a torrent and we leave the option for DDL, I don't see much of a problem.

okay bro, I appreciate what you're doing here because i know you're trying to share, but let me just say something.

first of all, you've posted 6 times in a row. I know it's because you're releasing stuff, but... you could still just fit it all in one post. Leave the tracklists out or something. but more importantly, you're just reposting stuff from Chinese places, like tora.to. once we've seen a couple of these, we pretty much get it, and can search the site ourselves for whatever we want. there's no point in you reposting all the content on the site, otherwise we might as well be tora.to. Now, if you were downloading this stuff from the chinese sites and then reuploading them to some place much faster, like hotfile, hotshare, etc, then that would be something else. But we can just search those original links ourselves.

And lastly, you're not even paying attention to what you post. for example:

I really don't mean to rain on your parade when you're trying to do something good, but really... it's a little much of reposts from other sites with slow Chinese connections and stuff. maybe download them yourself, and reupload them to a fast host. or, simply let us know "hey here's a cool site and you can search for stuff here" instead of posting a whole bunch of stuff one by one.

I'm still trying to get Command & Conquer Sole Survivor and Red Alert Retaliation.

I tried to buy Command & Conquer Sole Survivor but the Amazon seller wont ship to Canada. I tried to download it and whoever made that image didn't take good care of their game disc. It was full of errors and the music was corrupted. On Amazon it's cheap (about $9) (link (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0009AF77M/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&qid=1275165079&sr=8-1&condition=used)). Does anybody in the US want to buy it and send me a CCD/IMG of the game so we can create a complete C&C music collection?

I've downloaded Red Alert Retaliation to see if there is any lossless music on it. It has a large data.xa file which is supposed to contain the PSX music but I haven't figured out how to extract it yet. It may be low quality music but the MP3 soundtrack I found seems to indicate that there is a high quality source of those songs somewhere... Documentation on extracting music from PSX games is scarce and the tools are even scarcer. Help would be very much appreciated!

Oh, does anybody have C&C3, C&C4, RA3 in lossless? If you do please share it!

I'm almost half-way done with the FLAC image, but every time the .cue starts to download, it advances a bit then returns to 0.0% (eMule reports something about a part.met file being corrupted).Leon what happend whit this one? you could finish the download?

About updating my old links here, I am ordering a new hard drive so I can move all my music and media to it. I am outta room lol, even so much as that I can't make the rar files I need to reup my outdated posts. As soon as I get the new hd up an running I'll get those up.

If you have the DDP DOJ PS2 game, you can acutally get the OST/arrange from it (not the ketsui). You need to rip the music out though, of course. I can upload it here if you want. I have it ripped at 1536kbps and 48000 khz.
