I'd say go with MediaFire, but be sure you name the uploaded files very discreetly... otherwise they will take down your albums if "GoldenEye" or anything like that is in the name... keep your old naming system like GE-FFS-KFG.rar or something.
The only problem with MediaFire is splitting up the archives after 200MB.

I must be pretty lucky to download Octopussy just moments ago.
It must be that KaF's share has attracted a lot of traffic that most of us don't get the chance...
I suggest keep refreshing every 5 to 10 min. Those spots shall be open for you.
Btw KaF, I just got your album of YOLT, but I noticed that the Gunbarrel track also has the Capsule scene on it. Sometime earlier I downloaded this album from another poster here and his got the Gunbarrel and the scene afterward seperately... This is just something of a noteworthy to mention (though I do like that the gunbarrels are on their own XP).
Anyway, as always, thanks, laddie!

Pretty sure it was taken out because my rip of that track (Tanker) sounded like garbage anyways lol.
And I'll try to rip other Bond stuff, but I wouldn't expect miracles. A lot of the Bond DVDs are filled with sound effects in the back channels. I'll try to do The Spy Who Loved Me again though.
Also the reason I want to wait is because I'm certain Take's version will sound better than the original I posted up however long ago.

Did you mean "tried to download"? Because a dead link cannot be downloaded.
As for those asking about TSWLM: I have made some small progress. I have access to higher quality sources than I had a couple of years ago (when I actually did my first version) but the work needed to remaster (or at least improve them somewhat) is still intensive, and there is a lot of material. I also have to decide how to present them. There are some small cues, almost 'stingers', which on their own would yield a somewhat disjointed listening experience. Do I leave them isolated or do I combine them into other cues to make mini suites? Do I include the album versions of some cues, or are they redundant since they are not in the film?
There is much to be done but rather than post a quickly assembled, substandard album, I want to make it the best I can. After all, it's the last one of the "classic Bond" scores. And as I have said before, its not like this is the only thing I have going on right now, so it will likely be a little while before I finish it. If you don't want to wait for my version, or think I am BSing you because I have nothing to show, that's entirely fine - no one is forcing you to wait or believe me. But for those who do wanna wait it out, I hope the wait is worth it when I finally post it. In the meantime, it sounds like YoYoBoy is gonna be providing us with a mix of his own, which is a good stop-gap to the final release of my own.
One or two have asked about covers - I may post the ones I had made when I post TSWLM but there are many good ones out there already. RDAF has made some, for example.

Tak, you could add the stingers at the end, or put them between the tracks, doesn't matter really, and you could use the album cues as bonus fodder at the end of the soundtrack, so at least all versions are there, like you did with the earlier Bond's. And a separate folder of art would be a idea so if anyone wants them they can down them

Just my opinion, but I have no problem with the disjointed listening experience. That said, if you do decide to string cues together, please include a little silence between cues. Makes it much easier if there's a boring bit (IMO, of course) and I can edit it out cleanly for my listening pleasure.

Personally, I would much prefer isolated tracks, though MrM has a good idea of silence punctuated suites. As for album versions, There's no harm in including them. Even if it were, say, as a seperate optional download. Basically the kitchen sink method: if it's all there, everyone and all bases will be covered.

Hi KaFaraqGatri.
I think that any fine track, with good sound, should be included. Shorter tracks could be assembled in suites with very short pauses, if they were parts of the same sequence in the movie. So we could have musical and narrative units more coherent. Anyway, chronological order is always the best choice in my opinion.
As usual, I trust in Your exquisite taste!
Best regards.

Do you think in the upcoming months there will be a re-issue of all Bond-OST's for the 50th ann.?
Maybe in expanded editions?

The book sounds wonderful, but for me we need expanded CD editions. I would love to see Intrada do them. Rumours were abound a while back that it may happen but nothing's come of it. Maybe the owners want it to be secret until nearer the time?

I read somewhere that all he was doing was a reworking of the James Bond Theme for the movie.

I've been toying around with some cover ideas for this series (gotta have consistency in cover art, right?) and here's what I've come up with. I only have a few so far, but if anyone is interested I'll post them as I get them done.
Here's the first two:
Bond03_Goldfinger (

Hi everyone... just came across this post and am so impressed.
An official re-release of James Bond soundtracks to celebrate 50 years of the franchise would be phenomenal.
In the mean time, this is a great collection.
Thank you, KaFaraqGatri!

Excellent covers so far!! The Faberge egg, however, might look better if it was turned the other way up.
Suggestions for other covers....
TB: the underwater breather?
FRWL: Klebb's shoe?
DAF: The Oil rig? or the Willard Whyte sign, maybe
LALD: A croc, or a something voodooesque
FYEO: Tough one... 2CV or ATAC?
QOS: The Vesper Necklace?
Keep up the good work!

Thunderball: Re-breather, a shark
From Russia With Love: The briefcase, Klebb's shoe
Diamonds Are Forever: A diamond, Ford Mustang
Live And Let Die: Tarot cards, a gator, fake hand
For Your Eyes Only: Crossbow, Deep Sea Diving Suit
Quantum Of Solace: A bottle of H2O, oil covered body

Quantum Of Solace: Vesper's necklace (which Bond drops at the end of the movie)

Tomorrow Never Dies: A newspaper with "Tomorrow" on it; being the name of Carver's newspaper..

I think I will make a RAR with the first batch once I get them done instead of waiting for the full set. Maybe three files in all, with about 8 films per set? Once I get the first ones done I'll hook you up with the link.
Also, I want to give you credit for doing the actual hard work and editing the scores...any preference on how you would like your name and/or credit to read on the back?
Thanks again for your excellent work on these!

Alright, without further ado, here are the first 8 sets of covers and tray liners for the Bond scores:
Download the ZIP file here, no password needed (

Once all the films are done, I will combine them into one file for easy downloading. These sets are for those who don't want to wait, and also as a kind of beta test to make sure there are no typos or other errors that turn up as people start taking a closer look at them.
Hopefully will have set 2 done early next week and the final set a week or so after.

It's a very cool idea. It'd be a good base for a minimalist set of covers for the movies too.
A couple of Typos:
On OHMSS, the character's name is Sir Hilary (a man's name, with one L) not Hillary.
On Live and Let Die, Track #28 says Solitairs and I think you want Solitaire;
On The World is Not Enough, Track 14 - You have "Khazakstan," it's actually Kazakhstan (watch the h).
On Die Another Day, Track 5 - I don't think "Hovercrafts" is the correct plural; I think it's just "Hovercraft." (What is the plural for craft as in the ship (
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_plural_for_craft_as_in_the_ship))
I also don't know why, but the font on the back some of the titles (particularly in collection 1) is very hard to read. On The Living Daylights, however, it looks great; what did you do differently for that one? You may also consider a drop shadow, since it kind of disappears on some of the lighter backgrounds.

1) Thanks to those who have found typos/errors. I will correct those before loading the final zip file next week. If any errors are spotted on this third set, please let me know ASAP so I can correct them before the final upload.
2) Stinkor mentioned trouble reading the backs on some of these. If anyone else has trouble reading the backs, let me know which ones are the hardest to see and I'll do what I can.
3) This set does NOT include the back/track list for TSWLM for obvious reasons. But...it does include an alternate cover bonus, so if you don't like the one you see in the teaser above, there's a surprise in the zip file!

Adele is very good. But she's so young that I feel they could have waited on her, especially when there's so many well established iconic British singers who've never been given a crack at Bond -- THE iconic fictional British hero of the modern era (outside of Harry Potter).
If it were up to me, I'd go with either Sade or Joe Cocker as my first choices. Or how about Rod Stewart or Annie Lennox? Mick Jagger (The Rolling Stones), David Bowie, Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) or Kate Bush? David Gilmore (Pink Floyd), Roger Waters (Pink Floyd), Elton John, Peter Gabriel, Sting, Robert Plant (Led Zepplin), Roger Daltry (The Who), Eric Clapton, Jeff Lyne (ELO), Phil Collins, George Michael, Steve Winwood, Supertramp, Ozzy Osbourne, Paul Young, Simply Red, Tears For Fears, Seal, Billy Idol, Brian Johnson (AC/DC)... ect? I can actually imagine Daniel Craig's Bond cruising in his Aston Martin and listening to those artists without a hint of irony.
All I'm saying is that one British legend deserves another. Let's get 'em while they can still get got! Adele is like 24 years old, she's got legit chops enough that I feel confident that her time would have come eventually, but because she's hot right now I guess she'll sell the maximum amount of singles. Suppose that's the bottom line.
At least we're past the abomination that was Jack White and Alicia Keyes.
This mentallity at its worst was taken to its zenith with the recent Olympic ceremonies -- I was just like; "who the devil is Dizzee Rascal and why are you devoting some near ten valuable minutes to him as a representative of British music? And where for the love of all that is holy and true is Mick Jagger?"! ...But I digress.
Still, Adele is excellent and I'll be looking forward to hearing what an Adele collaboration with Thomas Newman sounds like (hopefully Thomas Newman is intimately involved).

I would kill for a David Bowie or Eric Clapton Bond collaboration, but the producers now think they need someone young and hip to sell the song, not realizing its about the quality. Adele is great and I was hoping she would be the one. I wanted her to do Quantum's song so hopefully she will deliver.

Time for the third and final set!
Just a few things:
Your Diamonds are Forever cover is missing the outer radial fade that all the other covers have. Makes it seem inconsistent with the others.
'Sif not having the Lektor for From Russia With Love! The shoe was barely in it at all, but the whole plot revolves around the Lektor! :P
A really minor point- I personally think the spider suits Dr. No well, but there are always many people out there who are Arachnaphobic, and wouldn't want to to see a spider in their CD collection. If you made it something else then you wouldn't endanger alienating that crowd. To be honest I wouldn't know what to replace it with though... a mango? The shells Ryder collects? Dr. No's iconic radiation suit in silhouette? a geiger counter? The dragon? Hey- what about the Dragon! they talk about it and build up to it for a good half of the movie or so!

DR. NO 50th ANNIVERSARY SOUNDTRACK SCORE
Commemorating the 50th anniversary of the release of the first James Bond movie Dr. No, this unique release contains music from the original album release plus many of the cues that were not on that album.
Long a contentious issue about who actually scored the movie Monty Norman won a celebrated court case in London we will leave the listener to decide for him/herself.
With newly commissioned notes, this is definitely not a title to be missed!
1. Radio Frequency
2. Main Title John Barry

The Adele song sounds like a very nice return to form!
I was only hoping that Thomas Newman would be involved, so that the theme song could have some carry through into the score - but it doesn't appear that he is.
Still, I'm most pleased with what I'm hearing!

That link on MI6 is where Ive been posting on and after checking out gkgyvers youtube channel and that incredible Golden Gun effort this is now where Ive ended up!
So happy to have found this, what an amazing effort by KaFaraqGatri you obviously have some sought after connections!
The first one I decided to listen to was LTK, its very impressive even if the fidelity isnt quite there on the unreleased tracks.
Ive started to go through the whole thread so Ill try not to repeat anything but just wondered if there were any detailed notes that went with these releases? Would be good to know how they were constructed because there is a lot of mystery and confusion when sequencing Bond cues from unused music to alternates, from tracked music to music some thought were tracked but were slightly different etc
Also I didnt see any links for the cover art or game scores mentioned? And I guess TSWLM didnt materialise I cant imagine why ;)
Was there any link for the rare/unused music that was also mentioned?
KaFaraqGatri
10-04-2012, 08:23 PM
TSWLM is on its way, I havent looked at it in some months. As for the rare/unused music, I am still collecting sources. So in time, those two will be out :)
Could you give a ballpark time frame for TSWLM? Even whether or not it'll be here in 2012 will satisfy. :)

i can't believe (actually i can, and expected this) that all we're getting is another lousy compilation of already available bond music. on the one hand, it's nice to see a bond compilation that also focuses on score tracks, but this is really only a good collection for someone that doesn't already own the soundtrack albums and would like an introduction to the world of bond music. not having any expanded bond scores is very disheartening. being the 50th anniversary of Dr. No, this would've been the ideal year to get these expansions. i fear that we will now never see any more new official expansions. more frustrating is the fact that much unreleased bond music is out there, sitting in a studio and waiting to be remastered and released. but i guess eon and mgm is only concerned with money, not preserving the music of their old films. hence, another stupid best of compilation with NOTHING NEW.

I've been carrying on listening in a random order. Found the U2 GoldenEye instrumental very interesting- never heard that before. It's almost a shame they weren't brought in to score the whole movie like that! They also did a vocal demo which i'm surprised didn't make this release.

It might be a nice idea to add Never Say Never Again and Casino Royale 67 to your collection of downloads.
CR 67 has had a couple of releases- this one is very interesting:
Soundtrack Preview: Casino Royale (1967) Remastered :: Collecting :: MI6 :: The Home Of James Bond 007 (
http://www.mi6-hq.com/sections/articles/collecting_soundtrack_cr67_preview.php3?t=&s=music&id=02755)
TB was great, I enjoyed hearing part of the Bond/Fiona ride- one of my favourite cues.
I have a 57 second alternate cue of Bond meeting Domino which seems to be a rip from some version of the film- there was a release which had audio differences. Very little sound effects in it.
I have the 30th Anniversary LE so i've heard Shirley Bassey’s version of MKKBB, I really like her take on it. It got me searching for other covers on youtube but there’s not that many.
An interesting one here by Glenda Grainger:
Glenda Grainger - "Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" - Audio Fidelity #45-115 (1965) Beatnik Bond Girl - YouTube (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g69__0MK5tY)
I’ve done OP where I've always found Barry to repeat himself from TMWTGG...now on to MR – fantastic quality. Probably the last vintage Barry Bond score – it’s so majestic, I would place it in the top 5 of all Bond Scores.

10-28-2012, 04:51 PM
That's because it is a Thunderball Remake, look it up on wikipedia, Ian Fleming and other writers had disputes over the rights on the story and so they could make NSNA.
GreatKenji
10-28-2012, 07:30 PM
Indeed Kevin McClory was the one behind Never Say Never Again, as a matter of fact, I believe I'm the only one who really loved this film, as well is the main theme sung by Lani Hall and the score composed by Michel Legrand; actually I had never seen Thunderball till a couple of days ago, and I didn't like it that much, I find far NSNA far superior in every way. And, I must say that, McClory, after winning in a courts the rights to use the Thunderball story, as well as its characters and the whole SPECTRE concept, planned to make a new remake of it which would be called Warhead 2000 AD or something like that, and he expected Timothy Dalton to reprise his role as James Bond.
biff_stroganoff
10-28-2012, 09:31 PM
NSNA is a terrible, terrible movie; it is inferior to Thunderball in literally every conceivable way. And yes, I do in fact mean "literally" literally. The only thing that movie has going for it is Sean Connery, and even he seems a bit as if he wishes he was somewhere else.
McClory, incidentally, had nothing to do with the production, apart from signing his rights to make it over to Jack Schwartzman. Thank goodness he was never able to make that Warhead movie with Dalton; it would almost certainly have been garbage, as McClory was a talentless hack. He got screwed -- hard -- by Fleming and company, granted; but frankly, that was for the best from my point of view.
Penny Parker
10-29-2012, 10:52 AM
NSNA did have a really good cast; Connery, Edward Fox, Max von Sydow, Kim Basinger, Rowan Atkinson, and Irvin Kershner directing of course, so it should have been better than it was!
Anyway, I have a query about Skyfall. I'm sure there was a big bold James Bond Theme moment in the movie (in an Aston Martin scene?) but it isn't on the soundtrack. Was it reuse of an old recording? If so, anyone know where I might find it? I do have all the Bond soundtracks but my ear for music is not that developed to identify it!

To many BOND fans, including myself, NSNA was a true Bond film, as it was a serious look at a remake of "Thunderball". When it was made, there was no book called "Thunderball" and Ian worked with MANY writers to knock out a script for the movie, without having any book already inthe works, although Fleming would later try to claim it was always being written, but it was proven that most of the content was conceived and created by McClory, who proved it up in a court of law, and so the movie had to have both Fleming and McClory's names on the writing credits. This has been smacked around, back and forth for more decades than I care to even think about.
Bottom line: NSNA was a serious remake of an earlier Bond film, with Sean coming back as 007, to the delight of Bond fans worldwide, AND it made a ton of money, just like every other BOND film, Eon production or not, with the sole exception of "Casino Royale" (1967) which BOMBED at the box office, and was considered by many to not just be a parody of the Bond films, but a back-handed slap at the whole spy genre in general, and most people tend to ignore the film completely. In fact, I wouldn't even own the DVD, if not for the fact that it is the only place that you can get the 1956 "Casino Royale" TV production, in a high quality rendering! Starring Barry Nelson as the first Bond, but, unfortunatly, he was a NYC private investigator called "Jimmy Bond"!! (Shades of Woody Allen, YIKES) Hehehehehe
All in all, NSNA was a fun film, not horrible at all, as some would say, and it must be considered to be a true BOND film, simply due to the fact that it was the last appearence of Sean as 007. I wish he would come back one more time, just as a cameo in the film version of the John Pearson book "The authorized autobiography of James Bond"! When I read that, and the writer meets James Bond in person, escorted by many MI6 guards (the writer, not Bond) I can really picture Sean in that role, both in the beginning of the book, and in the end, when he departs the beach area where he gave his interview to the writer, with Honeychild Wilder on his arm! CLASSIC Bond scene!
I still have the first release of that hard back, and really need to knuckle down and transcribe it into my computer, as an Ebook, so that I can share it with all those BOND fans out on the internet! :)
Take care, and may good Bond dreams charm your sleeping hours.

I don't think that a Bond film should be considered "true" just because it has the original actor in the role. In the strictest sense, it is not official (i.e. EON production), ergo I do not consider it a true Bond film. It's discussed a little bit in Everything or Nothing, a very fine documentary on the Bond films.

Yeah, I myself wouldn't consider those 2 as an official Bond films. NSNA feels like a cheap Thundrball remade, but that's just me...
I prefer it to Thunderball. It at least does away with some of the INTERMINABLE underwater scenes, and I love the game sequence in NSNA.

I agree with you on NSNA William. A very underrated film indeed. Sean Connery, to me, seemed to have a good time in it too compared to You Only Live Twice and Diamonds Are Forever and that's nice. I like CR though, but that you already know. Looking forward in you sharing the "biography" onwards by the way. Sounds like fun reading:)
I agree with you on the underwater scenes and the game sequence highlight, Stinkor. I also liked Bernie Casey's relaxed and cool Leiter.
Best regards

Amen, Mr. William.
That's LORD WILLIAM! (Hehehehehehehe)
Thanks for all the support, people! Everyone that I speak with about BOND really likes NSNA, but some don't understand some of the inside jokes, including the title!?! :)
To me, it's still a mainstream BOND film, no matter if everyone on the planet hated it! That's just ME!

The dance scene were Bond breaks it to Domino that her brother is dead to me is one of the finest moments in cinema, a kind of honesty that would have done a movie shallow like "Titanic" done very well for instance. And don't let met get started with Klaus Maria Brandauer as Largo, who is always excellent. By the way! What ever happened to great actors playing the villains Bond has to defeat? Okay, we got excellent Robert Carlyle as an exception but otherwise, ever since Christopher Walken in A View To A Kill, the actors weren't worth the role really (or perhaps they were, the villains themselves not really well written, perhaps)
Ah, i was talking great actors, hehe, just look at Goldfinger played by German actor Gerd Froebe. German, mind you and Goldfinger happens to GAS his way to the goal. This was no coincidence, just excellent storyteller insticnt, albeit probably subconscious.

Funny you should mention the inside jokes regarding the title for example William. As I recall Sean told wife Micheline Roquebrune he would never play Bond again after Diamonds. Her reply was "Never Say Never Again". Luckily for us she was right :)
I could go on forever on the inside jokes in the film.
I also agree with you on the moments of honesty in NSNA and the bad writing for the actors playing villains since Walken, olafolaf. It's obviously down to bad writing. For example compare Jeroen Krabbe's work in No Mercy (which starred Kim Basinger btw!) and The Fugitive with The Living Daylights and it shows, to me anyway, he can play villains in both a menacing and a charming way.
Interesting point on the Goldinger nervegas thing too. Bond makes a reference to the nazis after dropping the gold bar during the golf scene which also could hint on Goldfinger being a former Nazi...

Having just watched my way through the entirety of the Bond-movie catalog -- from the '50s TV version of Casino Royale all the way through to Quantum of Solace, I can say definitively that from my point of view, you guys are on crack. Never Say Never Again is the worst movie in the entire bunch. Connery is decent, but nothing special; he's palpably bored by the whole thing (no surprise, since all reports are that the production was a miserable experience for all involved thanks to the inexperience of producer Jack Schwartzman). Brandauer is over the top, and not in a good way; Basinger is hot, but stiff as a plank; Barbara Carrera is having fun, but may as well be the Tasmanian Devil, she's so cartoonish. Don't even get me started on the embarrassing Rowan Atkinson scenes.
The action scenes suck, the cinematography is flat, and the music -- a few scenes excepted (such as the tango, which is indeed a very good scene) -- is terrible. I still like the video-game scene, though; that was kind of a cool idea.
Overall, though, yikes; that thing is a big pile of suck.

I think you got me wrong, though i totally forgot about the Nazi Gold. Anyways, I wasn't talking about Goldfingers character being a Nazi (perhaps), what i meant to say was, that using a german actor adds another layer of uneasyness to what we experience in the movie.

Actually the actor was a former member of the nazi party who later hid a few Jews from the Gestapo. Years later they thanked him for saving their lives.

I remember reading that somewhere. Thanks for reminding, Nightmare! No wonder Frbe played with such conviction. Hopeful to know people can change for the better :)

I'm with Biff Stroganoff on this one- Never Say Never Again is just awful. The cast was great, but the writing was just terrible. The action sequences were a bit flat too- I mean, Bond sneaks into a villa to rescue some girl, who stabs him, and he fails his mission. What kind of crap opening is that? It may have actually held weight if Bond was either shaken by the experience or was on probation or something through the events of the rest of the film, but nah, he's just the same ol' confident bond, only now looking just as old as Moore in A View to a Kill. Connery was clearly phoning it in, as well.
I think the biggest part that rammed it home for me was when I saw a documentary that compared the Goldeneye and NSNA casino scenes. Did you know they were shot in the same casino? In Goldeneye we have a traditional card game sequence involving Bond and the movie's femme fatale sizing each other up, with a lot of other elements at play. The camera gracefully pans the casino, we see it's elegance, opulence, and patrons doing their thing.
In NSNA? We get shuffled into a smaller deserted room for Bond and the Villain to play a friggin' arcade game?? Which, by the way, uses visual representations of the exact bombs that have just been stolen? Eugh.
Actually, if there's one thing NSNA is good for, it's showing us how awful Bond is when you go off formula. Sometimes we need to see Q virtually worshipping the ground Bond walks on to be reminded why it's better when Bond drives Q nuts. Sometimes we need to see Bond with a stupid, bumbling sidekick (Sorry Rowan Atkinson- you're great in other stuff, honest!) following him around everywhere to be reminded why it's better when Bond is just left to his own devices. Sometimes we need to have the Villain's creepyness shoved in our face with a nonsensical two-way mirror perv to be reminded why it's so much better when the Villain has a bit of actual class and dignity to themselves, instead of just being some loser who likes to go beserk occasionally.
Actually, Now that Quantum of Solace is out and pretty much does all that by itself, we don't really need Never Say Never Again for ANY reason anymore. Thanks, QoS!
EDIT: Also, for the record, the Thunderball novel came out a full four years before the Thunderball movie.

It did. It was based -- without the permission of anyone else involved -- on screenplays written by Fleming and Jack Whittingham, with considerable story input from Kevin McClory. McClory was a talentless hack, but Fleming did, in fact, plagiarize him, and Whittingham, and lost a court battle over it.
There is a fascinating book called The Battle For Bond about these goings-on. I finished reading it a few weeks ago!

I'd love to get my hands on your 39 track version of "The Living Daylights". I understand all the problems you're having, so I know that I'll have to wait a little while (or possibly even a long while!) for a new link. : )
Thanks for all your hard work you do! It's really appreciated...
