The US edition is out on DVDWorldUSA.com ...although they do not ship to the US since this is before the US release date (legally this is allowed), but if you want any further proof, that's the source all the DVDRip leaks from last night came from.

DVDWorldUSA :: Advanced Copy Pre-order Price Guarantee (http://dvdworldusa.com/advanced.asp)

ADVANCED COPY PRE-ORDER PRICE GUARANTEE

We have changed the way that we are offering the latest releases from the USA. You can now get the movie you want early and at the lowest price on the web.
Once we receive the title, it will be sold at our normal selling price. Pre-ordering will guarantee early shipping and a substantial saving.

Why pre-order?

ADVANCED COPY AND LOWEST PRICING

We usually receive top sellers up to 3 weeks before the official U.S. release date.
Pre-order now with our lowest price guarantee and your order will be shipped as soon as we receive stocks, via our express service (see shipping policy for rates).

IN-STOCK PRICE

This is the day that we physically receive the title, the price will be considerably higher than the ADVANCED COPY PRE-ORDER PRICE.

US Customers Please Note:

Unfortunately, we cannot ship product to customers in the US ahead of the release date.

They do this for many major films, like Prometheus or TDKR.

Basically, the studio ships US copies to US retailers around 3 weeks before street date, but they can't sell them in the US until the street date. Since DVDWorldUSA sells them to territories outside the US, this isn't legally a problem and they sell them as soon as.

UPDATE: If anyone wants this, end credits ripped from the DVD's surround track. Excuse the slight sfx/dialogue at the start. https://soundcloud.com/antovolk/skyfall-end-credits-with

No, archival trailer audio usually has terrible fidelity.

For now, I am done with all the Bond's, aside from revisiting Skyfall. I don't want to make promises that I may not be able to uphold. TSWLM was very difficult, and whilst I am partway through the new edition, it's best not to think about it. One day I will do it, and if this site is still standing and I am still around, I will post it.

A lot of us are happy to hear you say that- even if it isn't perfect- to have the best available version of the TSWLM ost is the ultimate hope for me and a few others. Best of luck with the rest of the new edition.

Many thanks for Nightfire; hope you would do the same for the Quantum Of Solace & From Russia With Love games as well :)
Blood Stone & 007 Legends are deemed unrippable so when they do, I'll construct a lossless version of the Blood Stone soundtrack and upload it. As for cutscenes, SFX and dialogue are all hard-coded into the files so the only versions which are SFX-free are the ones Jacques provided on his site but they're in terrible 192k quality.

For Skyfall fans, a little taste of things to come on Skyfall version 2, 1m5.

This is NOT ripped from a DVD, Blu-ray, DVD screener or video download of any kind. If you've got a screener yourself, compare the levels and mixing and you will see they do not match.

Looking forward to version 2. I ripped the audio from the SkyFall titles that were released on YouTube (that was only music, so no waterfall sound sfx at the beginning of the track) however it still sounded muddy, despite being in 720p. So this is good to insert until the 'deluxe' deluxe version comes out. Have you managed to get hold of the FYC promo that's out there?

The main title was recorded separately be Adele & Epworth, wasn't it? ie not part of the Newman recording sessions. And wasn't the film version of SkyFall an edit of the original, rather than a separate recording?

Having said that, I would jump for joy if someone did share the sessions - I really want the complete version of the gunbarrel.

They were both recorded at Abbey Road, IIRC. And the film version of Skyfall is not an edit of the single version, it's a slightly different mix.

It's not that great, Ray, but thank you! :) The album is a rerecording anyway, so despite being the same basic tune its different in orchestration. So I did the best with what I had.
I did, in fact, manage to get about 60% of the film version totally clean but it fell apart towards the end (after I spent many, many hours on it).

As many others have written, I too would like to hear this, KaFa. Perfect or not, I'm sure it will be the best we'll ever get. If you have the time, please post it.

Please, stop messing around with the Bond legacy. You have clearly shown to the world that your Bond edits are godawful and make the real fan vomit. Missing stuff gets compensated with dull, overlong Nic Raine suites. Sound quality improved? I cannot tell what you really do with all your costly equipment. If there are no good DVD or Blu-ray rips, you make the worst mockups available. Shame on you, KaFarqgatri, for making my eyes bleed and my ears vomit. Stop it - now.

I know the first rule of an internet forum is to not feed the trolls, but sorry, can't let this pass...

No-one is forcing you to download or listen to them. If you can do better you are welcome to try. Otherwise you would do better to keep quiet and let people think you are a fool, rather than opening your mouth and removing all doubt. Basically if you can't saying anything polite or constructive, then don't say anything at all.

BTW, have you gone through all the threads that have DVD or Blu-Ray ripped materials and castigated them, or are you saving your delightful advice for this thread only.

I'm too polite to swear, but as Bond would say, 'there's a useful four-letter word.... and you're full of it'.

There, I feel better now.

Spoliansky
02-09-2013, 08:38 PM
Not correct, Ray. Public opinion is forcing me to download them, because the general judgment seems to be: These are the best versions of the Bond scores around. For almost 3 years already, they have gathered some reputation. Which forced me to download them, because I am no ignorant of another man's opinions, and to compare them to what's already available. And when I compared them, I found them NOT WORTHY.

They sound crummy and partly like fucken old LPs forced through terrible noise gates. Leaving out the most wanted cues (a matter of highly subjective pre-selection worthy of a SS-Officer's daily routine) and not telling the forum members. Then, at the end of his incomplete assembly, he's stuffing everything with filler from lame alternates by Nic Raine, selling it as "expanded". At least three of these edits suffered from boredom, because KFG had lost interest in the project.

There's also a terrible glitch at the end of each track of YOLT. Noob at work?

Oh come on, Ray. Don't be such a tit. Bitching like a baby.

---------- Post added at 09:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:31 PM ----------

As far as I perceive it as an objective bystander, the reality seems to be that KFG has brainwashed everyone here into believing that his Bond edits are the definitive edits. Which is as far removed from reality as can be.

Sadly, its not complete. It's missing maybe three cues so its not real sessions. Still, much to enjoy on it!

It's just a cover someone's produced using the tracks from the 'for your consideration only' 2-disc version. What it doesn't take into account is that all music relating to the James Bond theme (even a one-off orchestra strike) was not included in it along with the title song (most likely because they weren't composed by Thomas Newman), so it's not that expanded as a result.

Anyway, I've been playing around with three separate versions of the score (the OST, the FYC and the Blu-Ray DTS HDMA track) and they all have their differences in one way or another. I might compile a comparison list as I do find the discrepancies interesting.

I'd be interested in seeing that list for sure.

It's a lot more involved than I thought and I'm going to have to know the score note-for-note as it were for it to be accurate (assuming KFG doesn't come up with one via his edit using the current available sources). This is all very interesting :-)

in that event, it's nice to have film versions on one disc and the album versions on another, sort of like a lot of official reissues

But this is different. Neither the FYC or OST have proper tracks on them. In this case, both the FYC and the OST are edited (albeit differently). Furthermore, for some reason, the FYC combines some individual cues into one track. For example, I've no idea why Severine/5 Agents has been combined into one piece when they are clearly two separate cues.

As for official reiusses having different versions of music, they only usually do this only if the album presentation was specially prepared by the composer (First Blood), or contained different/unique mixes in comparison to the film versions (The Untouchables).

i wish the 2003 bond expansions had done that. kendall wasn't allowed to do 2 discs. there was some music left off of thunderball. the reissue shouldv'e looked sort of like your version on the first and beginning of 2nd disc, then include classic LP lineup. all of the bond scores still deserve this treatment from mgm

i do love the ordering and editing of many of the classic bond albums, but i also appreciate being able to hear the music in chronological order

SKYFALL is now posted.

As it stands, this is the end of my updating the Bond thread. I've succeeded in getting these uploaded and reuploaded more times than I can count, and I really have nothing more to offer in the way of Bond music. I'll maybe stick around to answer questions but I really don't know if there's anything I can add. So thanks for sticking with this 100 pages+ long thread over the course of almost three years. These are being posted here for Bond fans everywhere. Due to the age of the material, and the archival nature of some of the film sources used, the sound quality 23. Skyfall (44 tracks, 111 mins)
This edition contains the most complete version of the score available, with more content than the FYC, OST and iTunes releases combined. It took time, money and effort to track down the material I could, which was slightly marred by the fact I was not able to access the Blu-ray or DVD as neither was released at the time. I'm still not 100% happy with the set as a whole, but I'm grateful for what I do have to listen to. Thanks to Sparktank for providing a very high quality studio master of the trailer music.

Again, thank you for the work in getting this to us KaFa :)

Don't mean to rain on your parade though, I just decided to fix up the editing in the opening of the "Ronson/Cars" track (the bit between where you had the audio from the DVD/BD and where the FYC track comes in should've been a bit longer) using my Blu-ray - if anyone wants it here it is rc.mp3 (http://www.mediafire.com/?pehfumexvl3u3xp)

That was the only edit that I felt was noticeable, all the rest is a fantastic top-class job though :) THANK YOU!

KaFaraqGatri
02-12-2013, 11:18 PM
It's fine, I don't have the BD/DVD so was just using what I have. Plus, IIRC, there is some noise during that segment and it was mainly some sustained strings, possibly tracked/looped? That opening cue has quite a few edits in it, and the FYC track didn't have the start. If you lay it against the film it doesn't run in time at all. The gunshots and sound effects hide some of the edits, and I was more concerned with leaving the cues at their original, or close to original, as they could be - before any edits or film mixes were made.

Perfectly understandable re: the sessions/FYC not matching up, same case with a lot of other complete scores like TDKR. Just that transition of the start stuck out for me so I decided to fix it :)

Lol!!!

I hated Cleese in the Bond films, so glad they ditched him. Should never have had him in the first place, really.

me too. i love him as an actor in other things, but just a bad fit in bond. it really seemed they were starting to drift back into dangerously campy roger moore era territory in TWINE and die another day

I cringe in TWINE every time when he puts on that coat and gets engulfed by it... He wasn't so bad in DAD, but TWINE... :S

Cleese in the Brosnan Bonds was as annoying and forgettable
as Michael Madsen in the Brosnan Bonds.

Normally, I'm a big fan of both. Horribly miscast!

AFAIK, Major Boothroyd wasn't the same character? He was simply Major Boothroyd.

I think XXX addresses Desmond's Q as Major Boothroyd when he gives them the Lotus in TSWLM. I could be wrong though.

Well, have people established the name of Judi Dench's Craig-Era M?

Barbara Mawdsley's commonly accepted, though I think that was "established" during Brosnan's run. There's also apparently a prop from Skyfall that has her name as Olivia Mansfield. Bottom line though, there's never been any onscreen reference to it.

Really? When, I must have missed that?

I've just isolated the source: It was in Raymond Benson's "The Facts Of Death", where Barbara Mawdsley takes over for Miles Messervey. The book was released during Brosnan's run, so I was kinda right, haha.

It appears Judi Dench may have played two different M's. If the props in this article (see link from CommanderBond.net: SKYFALL’s props reveal M’s real name – CommanderBond.net (http://commanderbond.net/17169/skyfall%C2%B4s-props-reveal-m%C2%B4s-real-name.html)) are referring to M, it appears Barbara Mawdsley is her Brosnan-Era character, whilst her Craig-Era M might be called Olivia Mansfield.

Does get me wondering though, are they going to make all the M's have to have a surname beginning with M? Would limit the potential candidates a little, wouldn't it?

---------- Post added at 08:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:38 AM ----------

It's also missing the gun barrell intro, but something's being done to correct that ;-)

Was there any success in obtaining the clean gunbarrel music cue? I mean including the section in Moneypenny's office.

I remember Kincade, the groundskeeper for James Bond's family home, calling Judi Dench's 'M' "Emma" in Skyfall. I could be wrong though.

When Bond introduced M to Kincade I took it that he thought M was "Em" being short for Emma.

Kincade calling M "Emma" is just a joke about him misinterpreting what Bond means when he says M, nothing to do with her real name.

I know I've come here late.... but forgive me for not going through all 109 pages, I have gone through quite a few, and didn't really find the answer to this, but can someone explain what these expanded ones are. I've looked at one or two and they seem to be the same as the normal expanded, like Diamonds for example, but just in different order of play. And the other one was OHMSS, The ones that do have a few extras on, is this just a lift from the music tracks of the DVD?

Does Skyfall have the Bond theme track when the helicopter arrives at Silva's lost city, and OHMSS didn't have the skating music. Is there any extras on the DAF and OHMSS or is this just the order of play for the most part?

What are the Medleys and Suites? Recognise the Prague Silva Screen covers, is that the medleys or suites?

Be really interested to know what they all are, but don't believe there's a real answer to the questions in there. I saw that the OP said read the blurb before listening on one of the pages but don't see it anywhere?

Apologies for the questions, just wondered....

Ohhh, PLEASE do!

Also, if anyone needs them, I bought the 4 non-score songs and the Gin Wigmore song used in the Heineken commercials. They're all iTunes 256k .aac with the user ID data removed. I'm not sure if there's an issue with importing them into iTunes 11 since I already have the originals, but they drag onto my iPhone just fine. Probably just me.

I labelled them to be inserted into KaFaraqGatri's 2-disc Skyfall edition, but "Moonlight" is the one I'm not 100% sure of. Either iTunes had a different performance available, or I just can't hear it in the film. Ultimately I placed it as the music heard when Bond follows Severine to the bar & drops his earpiece into Eve's drink. The music heard before Eve vists Bond in his room was a vocal performance, and the music heard while Bond gets his martini is a wind instrument. If anyone has any concrete info on where "Moonlight" plays (and if it's even this version,) I'd be grateful.

I can answer this, some of the expanded's are just edited into chronological order.

while some of them are edited into chronological order, with some DVD rips to flesh them out more.

others have bootleg material.

and some even include material that is mocked up from the sheet music (basically, using a synthetic orchestra program to re-record certain tracks)

all of them include bonus tracks from sources like the prague Silva screen recordings.

Thank you. I've listened to a couple of them and I hear the original soundtrack and Silva Screen stuff, and some DVD cuts, but not picked up on any re-recorded synthy stuff yet...

Out of the official re released extended soundtracks I thought they'd have brought some more out this year or long before actually. It's a shame they didn't. I do remember them talking of actually losing a lot of the original tapes which is outrageous, and the Moonraker ones being damaged too.

have seen with my own eyes, damp and ruined reels at Pinewood in their sheds in the 90s. Couldn't believe it. Actual Barry recordings completely rotten and ruined in cans. No idea why they were there and not a music studios, but yes you're right it was France the Moonraker stuff was supposed to be at.
