the password should be "starkweather" without the quotations.
If you copy and paste, make sure there's no extra space at the end. Some systems will highlight an extra space when copying.

Yes, I know, but whenever I put that in, it unzips the first two tracks properly, and then reports "Wrong password" on the third track! Are there only three tracks in this set? The first two tracks sound great, BTW. The audience sounds real, like it was a live recording. I found no problem with it.

It should be a single image file.
I can't remember when I extracted it.
But one of the file names might have an illegal character in it.
In that case, I enter the archive and change the name.
I think I use 7zip to do it though.

There are lots of different players available (including free ones), depending on what computer you use (P.c., Mac, e.t.c.). If you conduct a Google search, you'll find plenty of them...
The same is true for conversion programs.

I know. Appreciate the info, but I've tried different free ones but so far all of them have been trial versions which last only a month each. Since I work a lot and got a hearing disorder, I don't have the time and energy to seek out and start all over again with a new program. Maybe you now a good, practical free player that's not a trial version? It would save my a great deal of trouble if someone could point me to a specific source please. I use a PC :)

Hi,
In case no one bothers to explain to you, Takehiro had originall uploaded all the titles as mp3s. These links seem to have now disappeared, but he is uploading them all again as FLAC files which will give you a superior sound quality, so just keep checking back from timt to time and eventally they will all be here. The links in blue that are already after some of the titles are links for the new FLAC files which he has done to date.

Maybe you should read about sound formats. FLAC format is close to LossLess quality which means something close to CD quality sound. Bigger files means more information so better quality.
MP3 means compression and smaller files which means loose of quality.
tehƧP@ƦKlyANK -Ⅲ
06-26-2011, 11:50 AM
Flac is lossless though. Just VBR.
edit: and bigger files doesn't necessarily mean more information=better quality.
It's easy to burn MP3's to CD then rip them back to FLAC for fake-lossless.
All the original data is lost, so when you rip to FLAC again, you're ripping it with large quantity of data still missing.

Thank you!!! Fabulous covers.
Since I started using FLAC I could never go back to any lossy format, and I'll often pass up something I might like to have if I see it's only available as an MP3 or whatever. I don't mind converting a flac to an MP3 for use in a car or whatever, since I can fit so many more tracks onto my Fuze player (which also handles FLAC), it makes sense on a road trip. But FLAC is very easy to get used to and handle, especially with foobar and other programs. One thing, to covert FLAC to WAVE for use in some devices makes great sense, but MP3 is a dead end, musically.
And so I wanted to thank you for the new additions, in lossless; eagerly looking forward to more, especially the Barry-scored Bonds. Have you considered working this magic on, say The Ipcress File, King Rat, or other mid-sixties Barry scores?

Love the OHMSS cover, so much better than the offical release
Not keen on LTK as there just seems something wrong with the picture used, but it is again a vast improvement over the original LP release back in 1989
I look forward to seing what the back cover looks like and if we can tempt you to actually do CD labels as well.
I'm also interested to se if you can improve the bland CR & QOS original covers as they are again just bland and boring, unlike OHMSS and the offical cd releases of the Rioger More scores from LALD to FYEO.

Takehiro, what is here is nothing short of astounding. You are a credit to genuine lovers and appreciators of music everywhere. I cannot thank you enough for making these incredible scores available to us without extortion or anything else.
I have just noticed a couple of missing bits. Sorry if these have already been mentioned but it would take me forever to go through 50-something pages of forum. On FYEO, the piece of music where Bond first meets Bibi at the ice rink and then chats with Kristatos about Locque. Also on OHMSS, the (what I call) "oompah" music we hear a few times when Campbell attempts to bluff his way up Piz Gloria and then when Bond has the fight in the village with all the bells, and then the ice rink music. I do in fact have copies of these three pieces of music somewhere (albeit not particularly quality versions) which may be of interest to fellow audiophiles for completeness, but was wondering if Takehiro has better versions?
KaFaraqGatri
06-30-2011, 01:50 AM
Hi Sharpy! I'm aware some of these are incomplete, which is why the thread is entitled "Expanded Scores" and not "Complete" ;) If anyone here wishes to add their own tracks to these versions, which they have, by all means go ahead. But as for myself, I and the people I am involved with prefer to keep all their hard work "in house" so I wont be needing anyone to supply with any extra music. But thank you :)

Hi! I'd love to have the three tracks missing from OHMSS. Could you upload them, please?
Thanks in advance
/Sean

Down as in its been removed or its just temporarily unavailable?
I only included original music, as far as I know that wasnt written especially for the movie. If I am wrong, I can go back and add it.

Hi. The MU link seems to be down for Licence to Kill
The link is fine. All links are up and fine.
MU always has issues. You must be getting "temporarily unavailable" not "removed".
MU may not always work, or you have exceeded your daily 2gb download limit (for free/anon users).
MU sometimes gives greater troubles to people from different countries.
I suggest using JDownloader for all your downloads.
You can import direct download links, like MU, and JDownloader will continue to monitor the link and download when it is available.
JDownloader will automatically do the captcha for MU, RS, 7xto, and a small number of other file servers.
Most other file servers, you still need to put in the captcha. (Just like if you were to use your web browser).

Yes it was original for the movie, written by Diane Warren, and Patti Labelle included it on her album Be Yourself consecutively in 1989 if I recall correctly.
And I keep getting the temporarily unavailable thing on MU. :-( hehe.

According to the sources pointed to by Wikipeida, it seems as the song was indeed written for the LTK soundtrack If You Asked Me To - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/If_You_Asked_Me_To)
I my opinion it plays an integral part in the movie as it connects to Dalton's last line "So why don't you ask me?" in the final scene. And it's a great piece of music too that should be included together with the other songs featured in the movie, to make it an expanded score compared to the officially released one :)
MrGhostface
07-02-2011, 11:41 PM
I agree, it does belong on the soundtrack, not just because it was written for the film, but simply because it's a nice song and it comes in very organically in the last scene in the pool.

Thanks again for LTK, Tak! Great sound and fun finally listening to the tracks as they appear in the movie. One minor thing only: At very beginning of "Gunbarrel-Radar Alert" there is a slight sound defect. Hard to describe but it's like the sound disappears quickly just after the first downbeat on the timpani following the opening brass line. I had a similar problem when I played the gunbarrel track to FYEO. I played both using VLC player which works well with other tracks. Help appreciated anyone :)

Again I want to thank you for all the effort put in on LTK. Very impressive and fun to hear after all these years! I just want to help out on a few things. There's a glitch in the following tracks after approximatly the first few seconds at the beginning: 2-6, 8-10, 15, 35-36. I've compared with the film score. Hope this is helpful and again thanks very much for an otherwise thrilling listening experience :)
I tried to PM you recently but the system told me you've chosen not to receive PM's? Everything okay? Take it easy man :/ :)
Why limit these albums to original music, anyway? Moonraker has some nice versions of the Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture and the Magnificent Seven theme. I think those arrangements were made for the film. I'm not sure that's the case with The Spy Who Loved Me, though.
MrGhostface
07-13-2011, 07:40 PM
I would also like the most complete versions of a score possible. Originality is very subjective with some scores anyway. After all, it's not like the Bond scores have never repeated music... so rather than exclude anything performed for the movie, I would love to see it all included. Like mtjs said, tracks like the new orchestration of The Magnificent Seven for Moonraker would be very appropriate because that one is used specifically because of the scene it's scoring, and it was re-recorded by Barry as part of his score.

Don't come at me with your obnoxious "I did notice..." you pratt, I wasn't telling Takehiro what to do, just reasoning why I thought some tracks should be included. Besides which, using Licence to Kill as an example, Takehiro didn't realise If You Asked Me To was original to the movie, but happily updated it when we brought it to his attention. Obviously, we're just expressing what we'd prefer in expanded/complete soundtracks and the reasons we think that makes sense. But thanks for reminding me, I'll be sure never to offer an alternative opinion on something in future.

Moonraker was my first bond cd i bought that was part of the "old" bonds. this was before Ryko and certainly before Capital. When they were on E.M.I. Manhattan. What is sad is Moonraker could have easily fit on a 45 minute LP at the time. Golden Gun was 45 minutes long (i think) so they pressed a 30 minute album when 45 could have offered the complete score. This is a set up from that 31 track edition that had a strange track called Command Control Center with that hidden Easter egg at the end.
KaFaraqGatri
07-16-2011, 02:51 AM
I believe the complete Golden Gun score is longer than 45 mins, same for Moonraker. To have every single score in a complete, film order would be great, but its not going to happen. If it does, I will personally eat my own foot.

Thank You very very much Takehiro Sama!
Your thread is making an old Bond and Barry fan very happy.
I have all the official releases of these scores, but here I'm discovering many precious gems of missing music and the scores finally in chronological order.
I truly appreciate all the EBR editions in their lossless sound, and Barry' music is my favourite, but I had been very delighted by the score for "Licence to Kill''.
Kamen's score was a very neglected music that truly needed to be rediscovered.
Kamen made a landscape of ominous sounds, growing electrifying tensions, exploding violences and very exciting and fresh variations of the classic Bond Theme.
I also must say that Goldeneye, far from being easy-listening music, is a fine score too, because of it's attempt to be innovative in the series.
Thank You very much again!
PS: I like Timothy Dalton as a proper Fleming's Bond too!
alansmithee
07-16-2011, 03:06 AM
Sorry tak, i meant the album that was pressed for Golden Gun on LP was about 45 minutes of music, License to kill had a 45 minute album too. it certainly wasn't complete, but i thought that barry composed a lot less music for Moonraker than his other Bond scores. a while ago there was this 31 track rip of Moonraker. Edited poorly, but based on the skill and source material at the time, it was a nice find. It had some nice little gems like the Venini glasswords cue, the scene where bond lands his glider, and when the space station comes to a stop. some heavy SFX were in those scenes. what was unique was this ripper included a breakdown of time.
Expanded Album Total Time 58:58
John Barry Music Total Time 37:34
Moonraker film Music Total Time 43:15
That is the only reason why I thought Barry composed so very little for Moonraker. If there was only 43 minutes of total recorded score and songs, they should have put that on the album. Ah to correct the wrongs of the past.
KaFaraqGatri
07-16-2011, 03:07 AM
No worries, Alan. Sorry I misunderstood. And thanks, Nemo. I totally agree with you about Kamen's Licence to Kill and Dalton. And I have always loved the GoldenEye sound; it fit the tone of the movie very well.

07-16-2011, 03:16 AM
I agree, there was a time when i was begging for FSM or someone to release expanded scores to GoldenEye or The Spy Who Loved Me and License To Kill. If the rumors are true and the masters are lost or destroyed for so many of these scores, then these rips will be a fine solution to an imperfect situation. I am really curious to hear how you do on Dr. No. I always felt Monty got a bad wrap for his Dr. NO album since its mostly island songs, but his orchestral score is decent in the film. And GoldenEye is a great bond score that will only become more and more accepted, much in the way a zimmerites score is accepted as "music".

It’s a pleasure to read so many interesting discussions about Bond soundtracks. There’s always something to learn, and there’s a lot of enjoying ‘‘unreleased’’ music too.

Just very briefly, I want to thank Takehiro from the bottom of my heart for these gems. And more importantly, the time and effort on a community project that benefits the whole world, basically (Bond films are rooted in our culture!).
One thing I'm less thrilled with is that I'm sorry to see all the impatience and criticism. Sure, if I felt like it, i could post an essay on how track X is missing from film Y. But I won't, for the following reasons:
1. (The big one) He's doing it with his own time.
2. He doesn't have every last second or cue of Bond music ever released.
3. For the music he does have, not all the sources he has, or DVD rips he uses to patch the sources he doesn't have, are in pristine quality, and/or can be restored, so while he may have it and hasn't released it, there's a quality reason why (i.e. you could DVD rip it and edit it yourself for a similar result), it's not because he's "holding out".
4. Not every cue is a vital one (think: 5 second fanfare bursts).
And more, but those are the important ones.
I apologise for speaking for the man, but I used to work with Bond scores and edit my own expanded scores, I have some sources. But the deal is quite simply, time. I don't got it (enough anyway). It would take me a month of all my free time to make something listenable for the average score, and for something like LTK, probably 3 months or even more to get much at all (the sources I have/know of pretty much suck, you'd have better luck messing with the DVD rip).
bottom line, be patient and above all positive and praising of Tak's work. He's a superstar and his patience is far more than mine would've been, reading this thread and imagining the PM's he gets. Some people just need to relax and thank him, or if they feel the need to ask 20 times the same thing, DON'T.
OK, rant/advice over. Thank you so much Tak.

Wow, thank you Spikey. That was a long post to write up.
These do take up considerable time and effort. Stuff from DVD isnt just ripped from DVD and stuck into the mix, it takes many hours of remastering and clean-up. Sometimes a single movie takes a long time, depending on how complex it is. And I have to buy outside materials to complete these, which also means it takes longer.
And yes, some naysayers on here have said things like, "Dont bother, he dont have X and he aint gonna post it". Im not sure if theyre fans who lost patience, trolls, just or greedy people wanting them all as quickly as possible so they can sell them online (ahem RareScores).
Either way, I have purposefully left the harder ones till last. But one way or another, they will be posted. If I dont get them posted here (a bomb drops, World War III), those who care have my email address and will surely pass them on if the worst happens.

Guys, I don't want to be a party pooper, but why not start a full featured Doctor Who-thread elsewhere?
Hell, there's ENOUGH about this topic to discuss in 100 more threads!
My personal recommendation: SF-Debris excellent reviews and specials
Dr. Who Reviews (
http://sfdebris.com/drwho.asp)
Watch SF Debris' Opinionated Reviews episodes on blip.tv (
http://blip.tv/sf-debris-opinionated-reviews)
This guy explains everything you need to know about the Doctor (especially important for you Americans), he's funny and he does a good job.

@Takehiro: Awesome job on Quantum Of Solace! :)
And the rejected theme song by Eva Almer is AWESOME! Very Shirley Bassey and so much better! How could those IDIOTS not use it!
Considering that the current theme song is the second worst after Madonna's Die Another Day.

politics. jack white and alicia keys are big, well-known names (at least in the USA). the producers probably felt they were more marketable.
the same reason k.d. lang's far superior song was shoved to the end credits to make way for sheryl crow's song in TND. i think the producers figured a boyish lesbian was less marketable than some skinny-mini beach rock diva.

Whilst the Eva Almer song "Forever" is great, it was not a rejected song. It may have been submitted, but I doubt anyone on the production side heard it. The fact that song is exactly the same length as the credit sequence makes me very suspicious that this song is anything more than a fan song (a great fan song, but a fan song all the same). Personally, listening to the Bassey song "No Good About Goodbye" based on some of Arnold QOS musical ideas, makes me wonder what Arnold would've come up with had he been allowed to finish his song. Although Winehouse was the planned singer, it would've been great to have Bassey back, but the song would've had to be toned down, as it was a little too 'happy' for the tone of QOS.
The new QOS album is excellent as ever Tak (really can't wait for the 'final five' esp. Spy and Goldfinger), however since you included the source music for the Greene Planet party, I had hoped you would've included the music from the Tosca shoot out. I know it was source and not Arnold's but it so fits that scene so wonderfully that it really deserves to be on the album.

yea man, its one of my nerdy loves now, it was always something whenever i watched the films(still do obviously) that i enjoyed all the alternate to the title track song.....which then turned into basic downloads of scores..and then finding your links on here which just opened a new level to what i had heard.... its like...pretty much all the music ive loved from the films..... licence to kill, a view to a kill, the living daylights, my personal top 3. Atleast im not the only 1 who thinks Licence to Kill is one of the best scores out there!

I have downloaded AVTAK soundtrack but am unable to unzip the file using filezip. i type in the password starkweather but it just does not begin to unzip the file. is this a problem with my pc? I know its not because other password encrypted soundtracks unzip. anything u can do to help, like unencrypt them and jus put them on as regular downloads without password.

Takehiro complained again! About some guy who uploaded his mediocre Chill Factor RIPP.
Says he is the original uploader.
But now it belongs to US, Takehiro!
It doesn't matter who ripped what. With everybody just claiming he was the one who was the original uploader, you don't understand the www. Chill Factor? Yours? Did you produce the music in question, baby? I will repost it, it will be my rip, then. Somebody will repost my rip, and it will stop to be mine, until I repost it again. I understand how the internet works. But you, Takehiro, are just a sack of shit. You will never get that. Don't you realize you always look like a tit each time you complain about reposts? Did you invent the Bond music? Are you aware of copyrights? All you can do is lamenting, about time, about pressure. You want to give us the best mixes possible? Let me put it straight: All you can think about is that YOU alone hold the absoloute monopoly on all the stuff you post. Up yours, baby! That's a fatal misconception of reality. Think about it. Think out of your **ing little baby box, man.
Probably an only child.

@Schenectady: Consider this your warning. Next step is bansville. You're new here and already causing trouble.
I wouldn't close a big thread like this because of a single persons actions. If it was a lot of people causing trouble then i'd give a warning before closing it, but i don't think that will happen here.

Hehe thanks Jessie. I didnt complain at all; I was simply letting people know I was the source (with a smiley, I might add:)) Funny how Schenectady says its a mediocre rip when it isnt even a rip, and then goes on to say "We will produce much better rare soundtrack editions if we are honest with each other." Perhaops its best to be honest and not describe it as a rip, hmmm? :)
Anyway this is a Bond thread, so lets keep it on topic :)

FFShrine Federation to Takehiro. Our sensors are detecting a disturbance in the force. We suspect, you may be under the Wrath of Khan. Helmsman Jessie subspace message to FFShrine Federation, indicates alien is known trouble with tribbles lifeforce, up to old tricks throughout FFShrine Federation territory. This more than likely silicon-based lifeform, utilizing Romulan or Klingon cloaking device, apparently will not cease hostile actions. FFShrine Federation, suggest using warp engines to distance yourself from suspected dikironium cloud creature. Doing so will ensure safe distance, assuring alien will be left to limp under impulse power.
FFShrine Federation's future triumphs, depends upon your delivering the precise Bond cargo. If necessary, FFShrine Federation suggest resorting to Kobayashi Maru scenario. This will silence creatures dilithium crystals, allowing you to continue into Federation air space, to delivery the Bond cargo. In going where no man has gone before, Federation Shrine gives permission to use phaser banks to protect Bond Cargo.

I thought we were all of African descent... except the Neanderthals... no names, no pack drill !.
As I understand it, the Neanderthals were the previous occupants of southern Europe whilst the ice-sheets covered all points north. Our branch of the family spread out from East Africa, and out-competed the Neanderthals. Inter-breeding resulted in our absorbing 2 to 3% of Neanderthal DNA into ours... and here we are TODAY !.

i can answer this because i have a friend from southern egypt. Nubia is an actual region that is located in southern egypt and northern sudan. egyptians from this region are quite dark, compared to their arab egyptian counterparts. the term has become commonplace to describe any african with very dark skin, but nubia is indeed a specific region.

it's only been speculated that neanderthals and cro-magnons interbred, though i think it's a strong possibility, considering the dna was probably close enough to result in fertile offspring. some scientists speculate red hair was a neanderthal trait.
