Blades of Glory

It was alright up to a point, sort of felt by the numbers but still enjoyable - with Jenna Fischer eye candy, typical Will Ferrell improv insanity, Jon Heder not closing his mouth, Will Arnett being awesome, etc etc, but not the most memorable thing in the world you know

...

until the ending, which made me laugh so hard I cried

Jennifer Garner really upset me in that movie. like, i love her generally, but throught that movie, she came off as such a frigid bitch (i guess i should say that i disliked the character, not Jennifer Garner). also, i guess a lot can be said about her acting talent if she can make someone who likes her on a regular basis dislike her in a movie.

oh yes it's a lovely little red box that lets you rent a movie for a dollar a night, but you have to use a debit or credit card not dollar bills since it automatically takes out a dollar each day that you have it (that is if you don't return it by 7) it's better than renting from movie gallery :/ and the selections are pretty decen too <3

They are eye candy and nothing more. One doesn't generally watch a Resident Evil film for the acting. The point is, myself being a heterosexual male and having a thing for both said woman, still didn't save the movie for me.

I watched Transporter 2 last night. Statham really hasn't made a good movie outside of his Guy Ritchie projects. The first Transporter had it's moments, but this was really bad. I suppose I should know better by now.

I'm really not a fan of zombie movies anyway. The original Night Of The Living Dead was stellar. 28 Days Later was really, really good. Even the first half hour or so of 28 Weeks Later was pretty good. As for the Resident Evil movies, I just wasn't impressed. I like the first one the best. The story in all three of them is really bad, but at least in the first one Milla is running around in that awesome dress/boots combo. Sorry to make it about the women in said movies, but I really don't see much else of worth in them.

i have not seen it, but i actually heard michael clayton was really bad. it got muddled and sidetracked with the main character's issues, so it totally lost the plot, and as a result, made the movie seem to drag on and on (it didn't help that the movie was 2 hours long).

We started watching that in Choir awhile back, but everybody in the class was being a jerk about it. >_> I was actually enjoying the movie (I was shocked, to be honest), but didn't get to actually pay good attention to much of it because it was so noisy. Our choir teacher was on stage accompanying somebody so he wasn't there to yell at everybody.

Last movie I watched was Atonement, in theaters. I have mixed feelings about this movie. I was interested in the beginning, but it slowed down in the middle during the war scenes. The ending was extremely well done, though.

Dead Man?

I'd say that was the last truly great western I've seen in the past few years. It sort of plays out like a vague western version of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead with a dash of Pulp Fiction... Not really you're typical western fare but I'd still recommend it highly, especially if you're a fan of dark comedy and psychological films.

I'm the same in that I don't generally get scared by films. They have to be quite something to scare me. Shutter has quite a lot of disturbing images that meander round in your mind after it's finished. There was only one or two real scares for me really. It's kind of a rip-off of Ring/Dark Water a little. I hope you watch it and see what you think. ^

I really liked the first 30-45 minutes or so of that movie. After that, I felt it became boring and even more predictable.

On Saturday, I saw Funny Games. I have never seen the original, but I've heard it's pretty much shot-for-shot the same exact movie just in english and with different actors of course. It was pretty messed up. Anyway, I liked it. I really don't know what that says about me. Maybe some self-reflection is needed.

Doomsday. Had lots of momentum to it, but the story was a bit too much of a hodge-podge of better films (Aliens, 28 Days Later, Road Warrior...) to make it a unique experience. However, I do think that Marshall (the director) is class and has tons of talent. I'd just like to see him tackle something a little more original. I really liked his "Descent" and I thought that "Dog Soldiers" was a fun little piece for the extremely limited budget, but Marshall needs to break out of hommage and do something all his own.

owen wilson is awesome. period.

i saw The Game Plan with Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson. it portrayed a good message, very meaningful. the little girl was perfect for that role. but the Rock can do a lot better than that, imo. he was a little too fake, but i guess that's how he had to act, an all-star football hall-of-famer who's self-absorbed.

Anyhow, the Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Absolutely brilliant, best film from 2007 though I haven't watched There Will be Blood or No Country For Old Men yet. Walk hard the dewey cox story- I really didn't care to see it at first but it wasn't THAT bad, it gave me a few laughs. I don't regret watching it but it's not really a movie I would bother to own.

Hitman- I still don't take back what I said about the actor looking too young, but I didn't hate the movie. In reality it actually entertained me, although I would have liked a deeper story line (it's basically the same story as bourne identity and other like movies) and there were times when I wasn't fully convinced about the main actor's "stone face" and "serious/badass" attitude BUT I wouldn't mind owning it, but I wouldn't pay full price for it.

and finally

Sweeney Todd- I liked this movie thoroughly, I thought that Depp and Carter complemented eachother greatly. I haven't seen the original but I did enjoy this movie, some of my more favorite parts were ones that involved Helena Carter, I loved her in this role regardless of whether she can sing or not.

i saw the forbidden kingdom today. it's really good. the martial arts scenes are really cool, and there's a perfect balance of comedy in it too. you really root for the main character and everyone is really baddass. also, there is a love story in it that adds another aspect to the film, but it's not a huge part of it, so the film doesn't seem bogged down by it.

for you boys (and lesbian girls), the two main girl actresses are really pretty

and for the girls (and gay boys), the main actor (not jackie chan and jet li) is really cute.
