Prettiful sig Triple F but the image and the font colour clashes too much with the background because they are basically the same colour. All you need to do is change the colour of the font and move the image somewhere else on the sig and it will be fine.

Hmm...first i still need to master microsoft image composer i'm still kinda new at,it but once i get paintshop pro 6 or 7 i'll start on getting to know that two. It's alright, ditch that font, it's extremely hard to read and looks tacky, the pictures are resized too much, the other text is unreadable, other than that... it's good...

umm.:erm: I understand the font..but the other writing ur not supposed to really be able to read, but if u want to know what it is its the incantation for Dragon Slave. And the pictures were barely resized..well at least it turned out semi good...

Okay, a word of advice to you Bella.

First of all, try finding LARGE pictures. You'd be amazed at how much better a sig can end up looking with those. You can makea large picture smaller to fit your sig, and it doesn't turn out all pixely and grainy looking. If you get small pictures and make them larger, it looks kind of yek.

Second, try glowing your fonts. I'm not sure if you can do that with all programs, if not, try and get Photosop 6 or 7. I prefer 6 myself.

Last, don't be afraid to experiment with other effects. The only way to improve yourself is to become familiar with other goodies you can do to your sigs.

Other than that, your sig works are coming along well. Good luck with your other stuff. ^^

May I ask, when did you become the sig god?

Some people have different opinions on how they like their sigs, but if you wanted to say "My advice to you would be not to glow font, because I personally don't like it and I think sigs look better without it.", then go for it baby. Do not tell someone they are giving bad advice. It's really REALLY rude, and other people don't appreciate it. Be considerate.

Bella, try for yourself. If you like glow, then go for it hun. If not, then I guess you get your own opinion on it.

As for the whole photshop thing, I've just been using 6 since I've had it, and when I tried working with 7, it just didn't click with me. Maybe it's because I'm use to 6, but it's not that big of a deal. Your sigs will still turn out looking great.

The glow effect can be good when used correctly, I liked most of Gogetta's sigs that he used glow on, however Vivi, the very few sigs I have seen of yours I didn't like. Now, if you're such a great sig maker, where's all the sigs!? And don't be so rude in future.

hey. What do you guys think of my current sig. I just felt like asking. And bella, you should find a different font, and try the color gradient for the color, you'll be able to have multiple colors and make your name stand out. But make sure you have some contrast between the font and the b.g, in other words; dont go crazy. lol. oh if you wanna do that, go to the effects button and under catagory click on gradient, then when you are there go to details and just fiddle around with it for a while and see what works. If you wanna get it back to normal press default and start over.

let me clear something up that may be causing confusion. i only post graphics where my skills are either appreciated or i'll either get good advise. i consider none of you even good at graphics (sorry if i havent seen your work). so i posted a very simple wallpaper i made a while ago to show that i have some skills. i got like 2 replies for it, so i assumed people didnt care about my shit. so i have not bothered to post anything i have recently made. and when i do post stuff i usually get pointless comments that say it looks good. well woopdie fucking doo. i dont care if it looks good, i want to know what wrong to make it better. and thats what i do. i tell you what is wrong so you make it better. i dont waste time with good comments...... you call it 'mean', i call it 'good criticing'

just finished it. i dont like how it turned out. it was originally pink, and it looked better pink. and one of the things i did was use Wind in the background. and it came out a little strong so it ruff sorta and i wanted a smooth look. i am fixing it right now though.....

I like the general feel of it, however I don't like the scan lines, they don't work IMO. The font's good [What font is that?] and it's aesthetically appealing.

Vivi, here is my opinion on your sig:
I don't mind the scanlines at all, but I think that it's not a very exciting sig...
It doesn't resemble anything and it has no real image, as do most of your sigs that I've seen. It looks like a background, nothing more...
It's also the same font you've used on other sigs. This wouldn't bother me at all if you had done something to the font, but you just left it grey and very dull.
Overall, you used one base color and tried to make some perversion of water or soemthing.
I don't like or hate your sig, I suppose I could liken the sig to my opinion of it. They're both sitting on the fence with not much to say...
Although I don't wish to spam/flame in this thread, I think that most of your sigs are bland, use the same colors, and have no real pics, basically just backgrounds with your name slapped onto them. I'm also of the opinion that you think you are Gods' gift to sig-making...if you're so special and good at this, why don't you design web-pages for someone, make lots of money, and stop critiquing the people in here. I mean, if I was God's gift to sig-making, I wouldn't screw around telling idiots, nerf-herders and artistically inadequate infidels (such as myself) what's wrong with their petty contributions to art. I would sit on my lazy ass and sell my services as Gods' gift to sig-making...

Well then, next time, you participate in the next FFS SIG CONTEST with some of us, and maybe you'll get a more open view of some of FFS' best sig makers. And you can find out yourself which ones of us are considered "good" around here.

As for your current works, I actually prefer the purple one over the blue one. Very beautiful indeed. Gives me a relaxed vibe.

If your idea of doing graphics is using actual photoshop skills and not throwing images in there, then I'll make a sig like that for you to show you I can do it. =P But we really do have some good sig makers around here. ^^;

Mmm� I agree with Gogetta, Vivi. Your sigs lack interest and design you might as well forget the background and just type your name for a sig because there is no real point to have one if it has nothing on it, and I'm not just saying that because other people are ripping on your attitude, which I agree needs some improvement along with your art skills. As for people not noticing your art, it�s the same for me so I don�t think you�re entitled to have such a bitter outlook on things. And as for the people who "aren't good at graphics" they are learning and realize there is always room for improvement, and because they realize this they are better than you because they think with an artistic mind. I may be hitting at the wrong target right now but from what I gather you seem to think you are perfect. In short, you can save yourself a lot of grief by having some patience.

thats what we call 'Graphics'. sigs dont have to have pics you know..... anyway, i took your opinion into consideration. and the font is the same as i've used in the other ones. its about time someone noticed.

what bothers me is that you say 'backgrounds with your name slapped on them'. it take hours perfecting the background. you make it sound like a 2 minutes project. your thoguht on sigs are a background with a pic or 2 and then a border and your name. sure, its a sig. but you need to do other stuff. your skills well only improve if you experiment.

Great sig Nymphy. The background and the image you used is perfect bu the text seems to be overlapping so maybe you could change that slightly and then it would be just right. Well done on your sig, nevertheless.

Nymph : I like the colours, or I should probably say lack of because it accentuates the images and looks all moody and cool. The only thing I'm not sure about is the font used for 'Nymph', I can't really give a reason, which isn't all that helpful, but it just looks a little odd.

I think the new version is an improvement Nymph. The images stand out better this way. And yes I used a motion blur :). Just made a white layer, added some noise and blurred it, set it to linear burn :).

Triple F, the green theme you have going on looks very effective as you were able to keep up with it by using a green image, a green background and a green font. Overall, it's fairly cute and prettiful from my point of view. Well done..

apart from the green eyes the sig was pretty well done Triple F...i just didn't like the green eyes on the anime character at all, i understand that u prolly didn't want it, but maybe u could change it next time....i'unno..

Nymph...Picturesque...I have but one slight problem with it, the grid might be a tad too pronounced, or maybe it's just me.
EA...you like blue, don't you? XD I don't have any problem with that, it's my favorite color. In your sig, by making it so thin, it gives an illusion of being rather long. All things considered, even though it has a rather simplistic BG, it still looks good. Way to go.

I'm gonna post this Magus sig up. I made a background of t before hand, but I didn't wana screw up the quality. So I made it into a sig. I changed it quite a bit, but I like it. If only you could see the background in all it's glory...dang...

as for your blending question...just learn to play with blend modes and use some of the tools....(if u use photoshop)...making sigs isn't about going continously through filters...they never look that grand....

If you "Tried to capture the esscence of evil" then you failed, it isn't scary, it isn't foreboding, it doesn't make you think "ooo that's evil!". But it is a good sig, doesn't quite "capture the esscence of evil" though.

interesting is the intermediate stage between 'good' and 'crap'

so i can't say it is absolutly earth-shattering...nor would i say that it is like poo...so i use the term interesting to descirbe most things in between, and those works tend to lean onto 'earth-shattering' side, even though it is a long way away.....just think of it like a scale....with good on one side, bad on the other..and interesting in the middle......

as for making it evil...not really...the colours are waaay to bright for that....

mmm he's right...it is too dark..when i sed too bright...i meant the colours...the whole colour scheme needs to be changed....but by looking really really close...it loooks alright, but i can't tell for sure...

Nice, Nameless Sniper. I like the border top thingie. If I were you, I'd make the images blend more, though. For example the image on the far right, the one with the red border around it. Also.. the colors on the left (blue/purple) don't really fit with the red/black/yellow in the rest of the sig.
But apart from that it's good, you're really improving. ^_^

oh my! all of you have such great sigs and since it would take to long for me to type a little something for each of you i'm just going to say what a great job you all have done and to keep up the great work!:D

In order of waht i openned:

Triple F: again a great sig, the cute little cat girl makes a come back, and the text and effects all make it a great sig with an 'pro' touch to it.....its really good

Sniper: I like the Death's Head one, execept for the Axe kinda thing put there, looks kinda stupid....but apart from that it seems to be blended in a decent manner, but your second one isn't as good, it seems to be missing something, and the frog thing isn't too good either.....

Meph: I like both your sigs, coz they are a good mix of BG and blending. The first one has a pretty BG, and i like how the piccy was blended into the sig....good work...
the second sig is black and white, but it really is a lovely because of it, gives a good effect, imo......but i don't like how u did the weird shape thing, it looks bad imo......

and now my own sig, its been forever since i posted a sig of my own so here, but its crap as always....

Well, I didn't paste that axe thing on, it's there already from the pic that I used.
And the frogthing, is a character who has great signifigance to the game and in fact is more important than cyrus himself. So no revision without glenn...

EA: I LOVE the background. I really do, it's a good sig and all, but after staring at it for a minute, those images don't fit well with the background. Maybe if they were faded in a little more. Mephisto. I don't see the need to post on your sigs really, considering they are nearly flawless. The only problem I've found with them is that you use the same cutout style for nearly every one of them. This gets a lil' old eventually, but I myself tend to do the smae style of border fro most all of my sigs. Other than that, as I said, nearly flawless.

mm CE's Sig is really nice...simple and clean.....i like......the blue is nice....

meph....i didn't like your sigs.....especially the first one....the background doesn't look that nice, and the piccys don't seem to blend well...and the font is also pretty bad.....

the second one was slightly better, as the background was pretty....but the glow u added to the piccy doesnt look too good.....not to mention the font is pretty ugly as well....

unfortunatly for me right now i can not make sigs at the moment..:notgood:i had microsoft image composer burned on a cd, and just recently it said the beta copy version has expired..so i really don't know what to do..i have photoshop7 but i haven't gotten around to installing it yet, but i will hopefully soon...:erm:

joker, I like the animation, but the rest of it doesn't impress me much. But the animation is definitely cool. Maybe if you had a bit more design going on in the background. It's just boring looking to me.

Yeah, my original version had a more complex background, but I found that the problem with that was the sig looks cluttered and you get distracted by it... attention gets taken away from the animation.

Actually, I've been thinking of not doing animated sigs anymore, it's hell on 56k users page loading time, and they take way too long to make.

ReanimatedSpirit: Very good banner. It helps when you got Gackt as the main theme but in saying that you made a good choice with the theme and image that you used. The background is good too.

Nice, LinkViviGirl. But keep the signature limits in mind. This isn't the first time you've disregarded them. Please don't make your signature larger than 450 pixels in width, and 150 in height. That's not too hard to remember, is it?

No, no.. 150 pixels.

You can't take some pixels from the width and put them in the height maximum, or the other way around.
So not 200 in width and 400 in height, or 80 in height and 520 in width, or whatever. 450 pixels wide and 150 pixels height is the maximum.
It's not about having one or two pixels too many, no one cares about that.. but your images really are way too big. Just try to keep them withing the range of 450x150 and it'll be fine.

I personally like making Angel Sanctuary sigs and I go with something simple and not too fancy when making them.

old sig. I found the picture of Alexiel off of my Angel Sanctuary DVD. So I kinda used my mom's computer for a second to get the pic off of the dvd and then transfered the image over to my computer. Then I played with it in photoshop. ^_^

As for my avatar. Its a picture of me. Played with that in photoshop as well. But the tattoo is very real. ;)

New sig, along with the name change. Been really into .hack lately.

I tried my hardest with this sig to make it good. Even tried cutting out an image to stick in the sig. But tried not to get too fancy since I can't do a whole lotta fancy stuff. Font is very simple. fixedsys r0x0rz j00r b0x0rz. w00t. :P

Well I'm trying make my self a signature, but i'm not really getting much done. If somebody who knows my personality would like to make me one, that would be nice.

Well my Signature is not just one picture, it composed by HTML and sliced pictures, the little transparent picture at the middle is the banner of my website, and if you right click and save the picture it won't be transparent no more...
I tried to make rollover effects for the bottom but too bad the signature part doesn't support Java languages:(

Anubis, here're some things you should improve imo, work a little more on the background, not just black, and then blend your picture in the background, and it misses text man!
Search for some tutorials for cool backgrounds maybe and learn from them...

I'm kinda rusty on graphics, before my current sig I haven't done anything for months, but I'll practice so I can be in shape soon... ;)
