Does anyone know WHY the Star Tours/Star Wars land has been put on hold? And how long before they get it back on track? It was supposed to open in 2015, then pushed back to 2016, now it looks like 2017 or 2099!!!! :(

Depends on who you ask, since nothing is official. It could be simply it never existed and by saying a project that never existed was put on hold/cancelled, it saves the credibility of the "source".

For WDW, they most likely try not to have too many overlapping large scale projects between parks since it makes it that much harder to lure people in when they find out half a park is closed/being worked on.

I just got back from Disneyland Paris where I had dinner in the Disneyland Hotel at the California Grill.
The music loop they played there I never heard before. It was all orchestral versions of Disney Classics with a choir.

It was hardly a secret but now it's official as Bob Iger in an interview with Bloomberg confirmed that "there is a fair amount of development going on at Disney Imagineering right now to expand the Star Wars presence in Disneyland AND Walt Disney World and eventually in others Disney theme parks around the world".

"We do have Star Wars in others theme parks, in Paris and in Tokyo, we haven't made any specific announcements about what will be in Shangha� or what we're heading to Hong Kong after we build an Iron Man attraction but i think it's probably likely that Star Wars will be in more than just our two domestic parks."

Don't know who this guy is, but he must be pretty high up in the pecking order! :)

Since that isn't an official announcement (he did only say expansion rather than anything concrete), that doesn't mean a whole lot, nor does it even mean delays since no timetable was set.

Disney has even announced lands that were cancelled in development (such as the DHS expansion for a rival to the harry potter franchise back in the 90's)

The only thing I'm concerned about is the addition of a Star wars themed land to the California Disneyland Park itself. I think that adding a land of that nature would totally just blow the purpose of the park. There's already a pretty big presence from Star Tours there. If Disney wants to add it to DCA, I'd be fine with that, because the Hollywoodland backlot is looking pretty sad these days. I think either the Mad T Party or MuppetVision 3D needs to go soon.

Anyone know if any music from Chef Mickey's in either Tokyo or Walt Disney World has been released? if so, think someone can post it?

Huge rumor about Star Wars Land. There was a supposed Monsters Inc coaster going in the Pixar area and that never happened. Then there was talk about Cars Land coming here too.

I was very reluctant to accept Avatarland as something happening. But then it hit me that DAK was going to finally become a night time park. DAK is going to be perfect at night and with Avatarland they included the Nights in Harambe and a nighttime safari. Imagine riding Expedition Everest at night! I can't wait and am rather excited for what WDI will put together. I have faith.

I always wonder about animal-based attractions and night-time exhibits. Aside from concerns over welfare of the animals, they also go back into their pens at night. So it might not have that much to see.

Maybe Animatronics or Night Shift Workers dressed up. I here they get time and a half.

There are some animals that are nocturnal, most of the animals in the safari stay out in the open. They only go back to their pens if they're in need of medical attention. They won't do that if they didn't have something to work with.

When they were promoting the park through tv special they noted how the safari ones were trained to respond to sounds to come back to their pens at night (standard classical conditioning) but that the sounds were subtle as opposed to a blaring siren or whatnot.

While Africa does have nocturnal animals, they most likely are not presently kept on display since they would not be terribly active during the normal operating times of the park. Even then, since they wouldn't be throwing up light posts all over, it would be quite difficult to show anything that wasn't in an enclosure since it would be pitch black and short of strapping beacons to everything it would kind of a chore trying to point one out.

I take that back, its a show similar to World of Color at DLR called Rivers of Light that's premiering.

Okay, listen, people. The CMs at the parks are NOT any kind of authorities on Disney. To most of them, it's just a JOB, and most of the stuff that I have heard from CMs is total bullshit! Most recently, when I complained how dark the Haunted Mansion was, the CM at the exit told me that the lights were adjusted back in 1969, on opening day, and they have not been changed all the way down the line! BULLSHIT!

Awhile ago, a CM told me that the new "Star Wars" land was going to be build where the employees parking lot was located, over by California Adventure, since the employees were given notice that construction was going to be started on that area, and they would have to relocate where they parked! NO official mention of any "Star Wars" land has been made by Disney, that I know of, and so it just sounds like another brain fart from the CM!!!

I can attest to that, I have friends in the company combined now from Disneyland in the 70's - 1981 and WDW from 1982-present. Luckily some my friends have direct connections to WDI so I can filter things out. I will state that I generally hear things early such as for example I heard the rumor of the Imagination refurb 4 about 4-6 days before it became public. I also write for a theme park news site so I have to filter things out and a times I have to look though public records. Now If you add up my friends and their connections, My sources and their friends have been working for Disney since Disneyland opened in 1955.

Oh, and by the way, one member had PM'd me with a copy of the stereo music with mono narration that he had put together, which is great, however I really HATE mono anything. So, even though it sounds good, it has the un-revised narration in mono in the center, so I'm going to use his recording as a guide, so I'll know exactly where to place all the narration! :)

Okay, Gang, got a problem that I have to address here. I've been told in the past that I am not doing my job and monitoring my threads properly, so I'm taking a more positive stand, and showing my presence here more often. That being said, I want to talk about some of the upload links that have been offered here. They are GREATLY appreciated, however (And I will NOT name the link or the person who offered it), if you are going to offer the same stuff that had been here previously, if the old link is dead, and you reup it, that is GREAT. But the files that I was looking at this morning had 8 different "Complete" flowthru's of the ride, all with different times. They all had different title names, and it was confusing as hell to me to get them straight. Then, there was a "Highlites" version, a short flowthru version, an "edited" flowthru version, and then there were single tracks that were edited out of one flowthru, and placed all alone and renamed! Over and over and over! I had to delete about 3/4 of the files, as they were duplicated from the master flowthru track. This is something I have seen in the past on other sites, where young kids want to impress people over and over again, and just come up with stuff with different track names, but it is the SAME track! We are NOT young teenyboppers here, people, RIGHT?

Also, I was startled by the size of the whole upload: 1.6 GIG!!! That sets off an alarm in my mind that there might be spyware or virus' in the files! One 7 minute track was MP3 320, and it was 87.6 MEGS large!!! Why would an MP3 need to be that big for such a short track? There were no bugs, and no virus, and I ran it thru my WAV editor, and cleaned out all the pictures attached to it, etc. and got it down to 9.3 MEGS!!!

Anyway, posting over and over again, just for the glory of getting "Liked" by your fellow posters is a giant waste of time. I have not even thought of getting into all the BGM files offered here, but as a part of my new position to monitor all this stuff, I will be doing it. So if you are creating some of these files, watch the DUPLICATES!!!

I agree with you in theory and salute your new rank. But in practice, popular rides like the Mansion that have been around for decades have over a dozen different "flow-thru" mixes between all the albums, bootlegs, fan remixes, etc. Are you saying you object to posts that would include them all with a consistent naming convention that include the year made and what kind of mix it was? Speaking for myself, I like having individual tracks that have the full mixes of each part of an attraction even though they're obviously heard in some context during the complete ride mixes. (Maybe they start and end differently.) These are then followed by the individual elements that make up those tracks if available. As a completest, this is how I've been organizing my collections and some get quite massive. But now I'm getting apprehensive about posting them in the future.

Personally, I really think that both the POTC and the HM really NEED to have their own resturants. I know that the "Blue Bayou" restaurant is PART of the POTC, but not really. You should have a more involved restaurant, with the skeleton sitting on the bar, a waterfall from the ceiling, a pirate ship sitting off the left side, and a turrent sitting off to the right, things like that. The HM restaurant would be like the mansion, but inside, where you sit and eat would be like the ballroom, with chairs and tables for two or four. Upstairs, you would sit and overlook the ballroom floor, and there would be booths with black drapes, with a large mirror at the back wall of the booth. It's a two way mirror, you see, and your waiter/waitress would appear in the mirror to take your order! Every table on the dance floor would have a "madam Leota" light hanging over the table, with a hidden speaker that only you can hear, when you sit at the table, so the ghosts can talk with you! A ton of more ideas come to my mind (Hey, you know how I LOVE the mansion)!

Personally, I really think that both the POTC and the HM really NEED to have their own resturants. I know that the "Blue Bayou" restaurant is PART of the POTC, but not really. You should have a more involved restaurant, with the skeleton sitting on the bar, a waterfall from the ceiling, a pirate ship sitting off the left side, and a turrent sitting off to the right, things like that. I wish the HM restaurant would "Materialze"... (You're not the only die hard mansion fan Greg... :P ) All the stuff you mentioned would make a great HM themed restaurant! I know every now and again, you can have dinner in the actual attraction! I hope I'll be able to do that in the near future... Maybe for the 50th anniversary?

Yes, I have seen that many times they have had "Dinners" inside the mansion, however, they NEVER put the dining table in the Ballroom, where it truly belongs! They could put up a wall where the "Ghosts" are housed, and keep the lights low, so the guests cannot see the large wall of glass, (one would hope) and move the rest of the stuff out of there, bring in a LONG table, and escort the guests thru the door, where the ghosts fly in, and have them seated inside the Ballroom! I could only hope that the Organ still works, as it once did! Have a spooky organist come in for some dinner music! :D

I came up with the idea for a HM themed restaurant back in the 70's, and have expanded it since. The main level would be the "Mansion", the upper level would be the "Manor" and the lower level would be the "Crypt", selling Hamburgers, hot dogs, and stuff like Carl's Junior, Taco Bell, stuff like that, and the booths that you sit in, would have crypt walls! with dead flowers in the flower holders! :)

Even the bathrooms would be HM themed, and ghost assisted! :D

just a quick warning re the Toad Hall Restaurant file. This is an induction recording I made a couple of years back (very low volume on the speaker, sorry) which I made available on Mousebits. However, it was "as I recorded it" without any editing so it over runs somewhat and contains the loop plus the repeated stuff. Unfortunately it's been badly split into individual tracks and, in some cases, in the wrong places. Don't blame me, I uploaded it as a loop so it's not my fault. I'm quite happy for it to be shared but I felt I had to issue that warning or it'll drive you mad trying to match my listing on Magicmusic to the individual tracks (I'm eyore. by the way) and I'll get the blame :p
Not sure if it's still there as a torrent but I think I did re-upload the full loop again to Mousebits cut to the correct size which a friend also improved the audio quality on.

So, what the HELL happened to our new "Haunted Mansion" movie by Del Toro?? It's been YEARS since he said that he was going to do it. Should have been out on DVD by now! What's going on with him???

Also, I'm really PISSED that all the links that I have reupped on "Multilink" storage site, appear to be falling dead, on several of the links, so if anyone knows a site that won't kill my links in a month or two, but leave them alone for YEARS, please let me know, or help me out by reupping some of these links.

They don't seem to be too excited with the screenplay, according to a friend of mine who knows someone who works for Disney, they keep hiring new screenwriters every now and again for another draft.

Hi all, I have to ask since the 25th anniversary of Splash Mountain is coming up (July 17th), do any of the audio collectors/distributors here have any "plans" for that?

You threw me on this one as I saw 25th anniversary and July 17th and I'm thinking this can't be right because I was there in October of 92 and went on the ride less then 2 weeks of it opening. Then realized this date was for Disneyland and not Disney World.

For anyone who's interested, I'm almost finished with a Cars Land 'Ultimate' collection with most, if not all, the known BGM of Route 66, Stanley's Oasis/Radiator Springs, Flo's V8 cafe, Ramone's House of Body Art, Luigi's Flying Tires/ Casa Della Tires, and the Route 66 Christmas Loop. This stuff is a total of 7 hours or something, so look for it coming next week!

I know that this is a bit of a stretch, but does anyone have the names of songs played inside of Ramone's shop? There really doesn't seem to be much interest in what plays there on the internet. I only have 5 songs, which might end up being the extent of that collection. Everything else is practically taken care of.

Those and "Suavecito" by Malo are the only ones I've got. As for the other question, I don't seem to recall there being a change of music in Stanley's curios. I've never been in Sarge's so I don't know about that one.

A. I'm Contantly Compiling DL Stuff But For Now Busy Working On The Princess And Hero Collection And Thinking Of More Maybe An Ultimate Halloween And Christmas Collections But As For Park Busy With DLRP Stuff And Maybe And WDW Collection To Resemble My DLRP Colloection Will See ;)
