Thanks for the response. Makes sense about contacting mods/admins part. But I still feel like there needs to be some method with which you could do so. I mean, if the problem with captcha isn't going to be fixed(which by the looks of it it just needs to be updated so it's a very easy fix), then sitting in chat all day just hoping a mod may step in is extremely inconvenient and very bothersome, especially when that's the only way you'll be getting some help.

Apparently Facebook combined with some enterprising online snooping. I guess I never knew such information could be out there, but I've learned my lesson.

Dunno if a specific forum rule has been broken. Or even a law actually. But it is creepy as hell. Contact admin. Not the first time this has occurred either so they may have a procedure.

If you left a trail of information such as your unique user ID which you've probably used countless times (i.e. email address), your real name or initials on other forums or websites, it's not hard to put it together. There are data collection websites such as beenverified.com which you can pay to get data information on someone. Be cautious and selective on the information you decide to post on Facebook and other websites.

But yeah. It's sad but it's laid out bright as day and black and white that no one should DM for anything, whether one requests or say "thank you". All is done on the thread itself. People (and I'm sure DAK in particular, along with others that helped him in the process for the other edits), worked blood, sweat and tears trying to make the film edits of soundtracks sound as close to the film versions as possible.

Why film edits of scores? Because I feel that it sounds good and it's the way we've grown accustomed to listening in the theatre, rather than the OST edits or the intent of the composer before the director butted in and say "the music should sound like this, etc." (James Horner's "Titanic" is an example of this, as is Goldsmith's "Mulan". Even at the age of 10, I was disappointed that "Mulan's Decision" wasn't the bad-ass synth version that was heard on the film and a lot of the chunk of the score is missing.)

Take "Star Wars", for example. Many people around the world loves the theatrical cut of the film, rather than Lucas' "Special Edition", because it's the film everyone grew up with and it's the version that shows a struggling filmmaker and a good crew (his ex-wife, expecially), cobbled up and released around the world and we prefer it that way and it's the version that won all those Academy Awards. While the expanded additions are nice, the film restoration/clean-up in '97 was good, I'd rather have my film the way I remember watching on TV in the '90s. Same can be said for Film Edits of scores, but to each their own.

Others before that user got permanently banned by me for the very same reason, I won't give anyone special treatment, nor will I create a precedent by reinstating someone who "broke" that rule. We have Sticky threads about music/forbidden labels/etcetera in most download links subforums for a reason.

Sadly for the affected user, 20th Century Fox doesn't seem like the kind of company which "messes around", so to speak, I don't take that (or Var�se Sarabande, Film Score Monthly) lightly. He's been around on the board for a few years, though, he should have known.
