I can see how threads created before Feb 04, 2016 can cause confusion.
I used to get PM's about VS threads still open.

From what I gather, since any thread before Feb 04, 2016 is still open and not deleted (different from closing as people will still use the PM system to obtain a link simply because the thread is still visible), users don't care what the date of the actual rule is and feel that VS rules are a farce.

The updated rule suggests that threads created on or after Feb 04, 2016 should not exist and will be dealt with but any thread BEFORE Feb 04, 2016 can get away without repercussion.

If that be the case, then the typical user will follow Bart Oss's lead and find a cheeky way to bend the rule.
For example, they'll find any mega thread and simply post links there, stating the thread was created before the rule.

I'll just destroy every single VS thread without prejudice, problem solved. After all, users are technically not allowed to question the actions of a member of the Staff, if we go "by the book", that is.

Looking at his signature, that same photo used to be his avatar at some point for a long while, and I've never seen anyone else on here utilize it in any way at all. I knew it. It's not at all a coincidence that right around the instance this guy returns that my only two openly-shared files are taken down. Good riddance, I'm glad this fool was banned, but that probably just pissed him off more. Whatever.
