At 01:40 of the first cue, "Main Title", there’s a 4-note motif, that’s immediately repeated an octave higher. As far as I can tell, it never repeats in the score, so it wasn’t developed into a theme, but it makes my ears prick up because it sounds like a developing theme, it’s quite prominent, and it seems so darned familiar.
Could this be a reference to another score, a musical wink from Newton Howard? Does anyone recognise it?
