anyone got HEATS lossless version?

Hey did anyone ever hear of or even see that old American animated film from 1983 called Twice Upon A Time? Awesome film and I wish it and the soundtrack were available. Here's the Youtube link if anyone wants to watch. Anyway, I can't wait for the 3rd Evangelion Rebuild score to be out, just gotta find a seller who isn't charging a freekin' fortune for it. Can't even find a reasonably priced Korean market version of the 2nd. Glad I got my Korean copy of the first though. And yes, they are official, license manufactured by king records Korea. Just have to find one, ugh. Well I'm intending to buy the Gravitation soundtracks soon, so maybe look forward to those. Just need to find a reliable uploader. Ugh, holy Hell.

This is one of the most beautiful soundtracks I have heard in a long time. The main theme is so powerful that it never loses its power throughout the show. It has the power of a flight score, the inspiration of characters chasing their dream. At other times, the score is so emotional that I can feel myself tearing up.

Small warning: Tracks 13, 14, and 15 are some sort of funky jazz stuff that sounds totally out of place with the rest of the score.

Game Front links seems to be down and ADrive is so slow (around 8 hours for 606MB is somewhat 'extreme').

Yes, it seems that Game Front has an annoying feature to lock the files to download from certain countries (http://www.gamefront.com/file-hosting-faq/). But ADrive works fine for me, and its slowness is nothing compared to something like eMule ;-)

Finally, Gamefront isn't "crap" - it just doesn't work where you are. It works very well indeed for most people. It can't have escaped your notice that fast, reliable, free, accessible-anywhere hosts are a bit few and far between these days. As for the soundtrack itself, can't say I've been a fan of music in Berserk movies so far, it just doesn't do much to me. I think Susumu Hirasawa's work for TV series and games was better. What about you, did you like this OST?

I may be biased as Sagisu is my favorite composer, but I haven't heard a score by him I did not like.
As for this OST, I think it matches the mood of what is coming up in the 3rd movie very well.
As for Hirasawa, as much as I like him, there was only about 3 or so tracks from the TV series I liked and then only the different versions of Forces and Sign from the games.
Though as I said, I may be biased, but can see where others may not like Sagisu as much.

That's cool, to each his own. It's good to see different opinions.

I love both composers really. Hirasawa has a unique mad experimental and yet environmental feel and sound. Plus his singing style is certainly unique. Can't imagine anyone else doing that insane Paranoia Agent theme. And I do love Sagisu being an Evangelion fanboy. Though I'm left extremely cold with 3.0. Which really ticks me off. I'm keen to give this Berserk score a try though.

Could you possibly re-up Casshern Sins, Kobato, and Mushi-shi osts? I tried downloading Casshern Sins from Rapidshare, but it keeps telling me: permission denied by uploader. >_< A different site would be preferable, like MEGA or mediafire.

Moreover, could I make some flac requests? Claymore, Steins;gate, Skip beat!, Zegapain, Durarara (including the bonus cds; mostly just the bonus cds 4 and 5), and Innocent Venus osts.

EDIT: I'm having a bit of trouble getting a decent speed when downloading these torrents from this site. Can anyone help me with this problem? btw i'm using utorrent, and I've tried looking it up (ways to optimize downloads and stuff), and haven't gotten effective results. (perhaps there aren't that much seeds????)

Thanks to the original uploader. I got the TAK files from here (http://sakurahana.com/forum/lossless-music/35786-fullmetal-alchemist-osts.html) (although I recently noticed there's an active torrent available here (http://rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1504885)), not knowing how to split them, but foobar200 does everything, does it? There's a cue and log file available, since the files are named "SVWC-7XXX.eac.cue&log&cover.tagged.tak", but I only managed to get out the tracks with foobar2k...

Judging from the scans the original uploader included, the first three OSTs re-uploaded here were published by Funimation, so I think it's just the same quality-wise as the ones released in Japan by Aniplex (the film score was only released by Aniplex). I think only Geneon USA (http://vgmdb.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4863&highlight=Geneon) messed around with their releases.

Honky tonky wonky translation. Especially tracks 12, 16 (and 25). Literally, track 12 would be something like "The Times Of Training Men" and track 16 "The Times Of Making Fun Of Women". I used "Patriarchy" and "Misogyny" instead for a better contrast, but I probably read too much into it thinking this show is progressive. :'D

In the booklet, there's a section with crediting the China National Symphony Orchestra. Probably for the first track, but there's no tracklist breakdown. Also credited, the studio orchestra for the Japan recording sessions and the Sound Inn recording studio.

Yoshihiro Kanno - Transmigration (Angel's Egg)
Angel's Egg is one of the most completely strange - and also phsychologically rewarding - films you will ever see. The score, by highly respected classical composer Yoshihiro Kanno, fits it like a glove - veering towards classical modernism (well, OK, so it IS classical modernism) you'll love this if you can suspend your need for harmony, and appreciate something that manages to be terribly ugly and searingly beautiful at exactly the same time - this is not easy listening, but by God, it reaches inside you and squeezes your heart in ways you would never have thought possible.

A score of truly epic sweep here for an anime painted on a similarly broad canvas. The main theme is classic Hisashi - soaring and wistful - heard most gorgeously singing over a bed of churning strings. Each track is like a little suite of contrasted sections, with many different kinds of music, but all united into a smooth whole [How does JH do this? It's all so accomplished, with lyricism and crucial telling details in the orchestration, yet it sounds so simple!]. I think you'll find this one grows with repeated listening. Also recommend the movie very strongly. Some beautiful art and character design and a story filled with incident, based on classical mythology, with plenty of those quasi-avant garde touches that make the best anime so strange and so special.

If you've never heard Kotaro Nakagawa's music I highly recommend it if you like music that is orchestral with a lot of movement and occasional synth twist.


Kotaro Nakagawa, a genuinely frustrating composer. He frequently buries the orchestra under his trademark electronic, but lurking in between are a handful of wonderful moments.


Kotaro Nakagawa should write a symphony (yes, really; that guy COULD do it).


Surprisingly some of my favorite cues are not by Kotaro Nakagawa.


Hitomi Kuroishi has great potential but I fear she's getting stuck typecast as a cheap Kotaro Nakagawa.

MEGA works fine with jDowloader. So, no need using web browser for downloading with MEGA (it's only for uploading).

I think Firefox has gotten too smart for it's own good. I recently updated to the latest which is 10 or something, and now Mega won't work. Such a complicated day and age we are in. Maybe I'll have better luck using IE.

Just use chrome... I've given up on IE long ago in my switch to firefox, and have just recently given up firefox.

Lates Firefox version is 22...

Yeah that's what I have, damn thing updates so often it's hard to keep track. I'll consider giving Google Chrome a try. Just hate putting extra crap on my PC. Either way I'll sort it.

It were true that ALAC files were disregarded in a recent past because the codec was not free and belonged to Apple.

Since one or two year it is not more the case and since I use Itunes I prefer those files.

Haha ok, I never saw Howl's Moving Castle and was unfamiliar with the character, so at the first glimpse on that cover I just had to say something :P

Good movie Milo, I recommend seeing it. The English dub was quite excellently done.

I'll need to get around watching it someday. Come to think of it the only full feature movie by Hayao Miyazaki that I've seen from start to finish was Princess Mononoke. Though of course I know that a lot and most of his works are critically acclaimed, they all somehow flew by me.
Also it seems like he's been postponing his retirement from directing for the past 20 years or so haha, but looks like he is still directing, and the latest anime film was released just a couple days ago in Japan.

Many thanks for the Evangelion collection. I wasn't really excited about the remake soundtracks at all but I have been listening to the originals and they are very nice. Something about the recordings are much more interesting than the remakes.

This is a "medley" of Oshima's score and a tribute to her work. I gave it a few touches so that it gives a small indication of what a concert suite of Xam'd would sound like. I do such suites when I feel this or that score deserves much more attention or a "best of" treatment. It's always a lot of fun to work with music of Oshima's or Toshihiko Sahashi's level. I know that it's not perfect or by any means close to an actual arranged suite or medley for concert. But good or outstanding orchestral music from Japan rarely gets the attention it deserves (Sahashi's London Symphony albums being an exception).
