... weird. People keep finding this thread no matter how deeply buried it gets. But as you can see, not many chose to post something in it - 10 posts in 5 months. I know i'm not all that active, but i don't think anyone can say that i have refused to send out links at least.

yes it's always a pleasure when that happens.

His work certainly deserves much more attention.

It doesn't have an isolated score that i know of. I guess jaxxon123 means if anyone has tried to rip the music from the film and then remove speech and sfx. But as i keep saying - that is not an isolated score :) but feel free to link to a release that do have an isolated score, i might be wrong.

I bought the set and i have the AC3s ripped, but... i don't have the time and energy to do any editing right now. At some point it will get done but i'm not making any promises. It is after all 11 complete episodes. Not sure how much more material there would be in some episodes that have already been officially released in the glorious TOS box. And what's in there is so much better quality. Looking at the iso for Corbomite Maneuver right now and this is what i see:

Some activity up to 20-21 000 Hz, no music though, just noise.
The music recorded on the AC3 stops at 8 000 Hz

And this is what every AC3 looks like, so it would definitely not be a high quality rip, even if i ripped it to FLAC. Granted, there are some of the episodes that are represented with an isolated that is NOT in that box, so that could be of interest

This could be technically qualified as a request, and thus would belong in the requests forum, however, this is of a fairly different matter.

Would anyone reading this be generous enough to rip the full, AC3 surround track to the Blu-Ray of "The Rescuers"? I imagine it's a common film in most folks' libraries, being a classic Disney picture. The reason I ask is because I'm currently attempting to rip the score of the film, sourced from the 2003 DVD, which happens to feature an absolutely abysmal mix, in which voices and sound effects take up every single channel and make it nigh impossible to single out the music over noise. It would be a tremendous help if someone could upload an AC3 of the Blu-Ray audio, so that I could properly go about ripping the score without such a hassle. I've been wrestling with this mix for nearly four months now, and I'm convinced that I will never get anywhere while stuck with this old thing. Of course, I would rip the audio from the Blu-Ray myself, however, I don't actually own a USB Blu-Ray drive, nor do I currently have the extra funds to purchase one (and won't have the money any time in the near future).

I realize that this isn't the ideal place to ask, but I am frankly lost as to where else on the internet I could possibly inquire on a matter like this.

You have my sincerest gratitude in advance.

First, i don't have that bluray, sorry.

Second, if you wanted the full audiostream from that bluray ripped, why would you go for AC3? I would assume the lossless stream is more interesting? (English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1)

Third, it's technically not an Isolated Score, so would not belong in this thread anyway :-P but i would assume (again) that there would be those interested in it anyway.

There is a way though, if you're prepared to download a whole lot of GBs, and that's using torrents. I did a quick search at a certain torrent-site and they have links for at least 2 torrents that have the English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 audiostream. Downside? 29.15 GB and 25.56 GB. But then you would at least be able to rip that audiostream from any of those. It's DTS-HDMA though so you would have to have the means of converting it.

Ah, you're correct... Admittedly, I was quite tired and in a muddled state of mind when writing that message. Apologies.

I'm aware of that. Hehe.

Blarg. How delightful. I considered taking the torrent route, however, I haven't the slightest clue where to begin searching for torrents and how to work with them. The download size isn't appealing either.

Your reply is appreciated, nonetheless. Thanks.

Got the Slayer on BD this Friday and it first had a 50 minute interview, then there was approx 16 minutes of isolated score (chosen by the Composer, dont know if it was complete score or only selections)

I can't speak for the DVD since i don't have it (wrong region), so i can't compare the two audiotracks. But what i can say about the Bluray version is that it isn't lossless. There is a cutoff at 20 kHz - Stereo AC3 at 192 kbps. The default audio track (with speech and SFX) is lossless - 5.1 Dolby True HD.

So i would guess it's like you said, they used the same track as they used on the DVD.

There never was a release with an isolated score. What there was, was a 2 disc US release with these tracks:

01 - We Built Our Own World (1:56)
02 - Dream is Collapsing (2:24)
03 - Radical Notion (3:42)
04 - Old Souls (7:44)
05 - 528491 (2:23)
06 - Mombasa (4:53)
07 - One Simple Idea (2:29)
08 - Dream Within a Dream (5:04)
09 - Paradox (3:24)
10 - Time (4:36)
11 - Inception (7:06)

on the 2nd disc, in 5.1 DTS-HDMA. They have already been used in various audiophile versions here, but unfortunately no TRUE isolated score

Anyone still have the Alien blu-ray isolated scores?

I guess there are quite a few that downloaded my rip of it, but since it's a 20th Century Fox release, it's not allowed to be shared anymore. Forum regulations.

I can't wait for The Last Jedi's Isolated Score!!!

You can get it by asking to the OP of this thread: Thread 223337
Unfortunately, despite being lossy, the guy shares it in 24-bit FLAC, and in a 2h 36m long track...

I guess someone will make a proper splitting, tagging and adding titles to the Isolated Score so that it can be "listenable".
I already made a splitting for myself, but I have lots of nameless titles, so it's gonna take work.
I hope someone will post it sooner than I can finish my splitting, so that everyone can enjoy it :D

I was gonna say that as awesome as the thread you linked is, trying to handle a 1.34GB FLAC file is many levels of impractical, especially when you want to split it into more "Manageable" sections, since as much as I love music, trying to listen to a single, unbroken two and a half hour track is rather difficult. Not to mention there might be long moments of silence and such, where music *isn't* playing, and when you split the track into more manageable pieces, you can trim those out.

I hear word from multiple sources that an isolated music & effects track (AKA isolated score) is included on the Saludos Amigos / The Three Caballeros Laserdisc. While I realize how impractical and difficult a request this is, I must ask, regardless; is there any chance that someone could perhaps rip this track from the Laserdisc? If someone could do so, I would then have access to the film's elements and thus be able to construct a proper soundtrack for the two films (I'm the producer of a project covering unreleased Disney scores). I've already attempted to isolate the music from a recently-released Blu-ray for "Amigos" and "Caballeros" to no success, so I am at the end of my rope.

You have my utmost thanks in advance.

So it does indeed seem as if it has an analogue isolated score/sfx track. The question is does someone own it and a player to play laserdiscs and then the means to rip that analogue track. As much as i would love to get my hands on it it's too much of an investment for me. True, there would be more laserdiscs with either isolated score/sfx tracks or just isolated scores but... :) We can always hope someone steps up with this or other titles.

Yes, it's possible. Did you read the post i made before yours? It would take the laserdisc and a laserdisc player. Are you sure it has an isolated score? Otherwise it would be just as hard as doing it from DVD of BluRay. There is no mention of an isolated score at your link.

No there's not isolated score... but i know that there's a analog left and an analog right on the LD NTSC .... I saw 1 track on analog left from the KNOCK OFF LD (maybe the music track), and there's voice and fx on the analog right ... But I don't know.
Maybe you know?

As i mentioned, this takes a player that can play laserdiscs which i don't have :) so i have not dug any deeper into how a rip would work. I have no clue if there is a player for my PC that could handle them either. In any case, it would take an investment which i'm not really prepared to make, sorry :)

Yep... I'm in a similar position. I've considered investing in a Laserdisc player and any other necessary equipment for this one purpose, but that's a laughable prospect what with my current financial situation. Maybe someday, though!

Harry And Walter Go To New York (1976)
music by David Shire, source cues arranged by Carmine Coppola

Both main songs from the film have been released on records back in '76, all other tracks were unreleased.
Selections taken from the Twilight Time bluray. Songs and some other cues are partially lost and were in a pretty bad shape on the disc, so they are not included here.

26 Tracks, 38 min., FLAC

This is the complete iso track from Twilight Time's blu-ray of Moby Dick. It is interesting to see how some tracks are music only; spotted through with tracks taken from the M & E tracks. Still, even with the great Stromberg and Morgan re-recording out there and even with the sound effects, this is a great listen. Hope all enjoy the great white whale.

First you find out WHAT an isolated score is. I wrote an explanation in the very first post when i started this thread. Then you find out if what you want has an isolated score.

I assume you want the music from something that does not have music only, but is mixed with speech and sfx. The answer is - There is no easy way to do this. Unless you're lucky and there is music only in two of the channels (rear channels as an example) in a multichannel audio. But i have yet to find one of those. (This is not an isolated score, btw)

But the ripping process is fairly simple:

1. Make sure you have a bluray player in your computer
2. Make sure you have some program that can remove every copy protection
3. Make sure you have a program that can rip what you want

Of course the details are a bit more complicated, but if you get to this point you could send me a message and i'll try and help you further.

As for those requesting stuff i have posted - Please, send me a PM. It's more likely that i will read those since i check my inbox more often than i cheack each and every post in my thread. And i have in fact asked for this in the first post (which everyone should check) and it also says so in my signature that for some reason only shows up in the first post i make on every page.

In most cases there are no "score channels". The audio is mixed throughout - Speech SFX and music. And it's very hard to get a good result. If you have just one specific scene, you might get lucky, but i don't think so. If the sound mixers have done their job properly there will be music in every channel as well as SFX and echoes of speech in all but the center channel.

Again, steps 1, 2 and 3 are essential.

Yeah, luckily, my favorite scored show (Buffy) is very well divided. Channel 1, 2 and 6 has the score with very little SFX (vamp dustings mostly) and no dialogue.
The quality is super good!

I also now checked with The Leftovers and its the same. All though it might have some more SFX than Buffy in the score channels.
But still no dialogue.

Other shows I have checked is Penny Dreadful and The Flash which is exactly like you pointed out. It has echo of the dialogue :/

Still not sure where you have gotten the notion of "score channels" since there are no specifically designated channels for the score. You might get pretty clean music from the rear channels (as an example) but it will almost certainly mean that you will miss out on some instruments not playing in those channels. A properly mixed audiostream makes good use of every channel to get that surround sound when it comes to speech and SFX, but... that often also means the music.

I just know that with Buffy, the score can only be heard in channel 1, 2 and 6. And its very clean. And channel 3 is dialogue ONLY. Yes, some SFX (but not all) in the score channels can sometimes be heard, but it's totally fine. At least when you dont have anything else.

Here's an example. This a scene where the characters is talking (the volume in the second video is a bit low):

For bluray rips of the main audio (where the is no isolated score or music-only stream), you can find tools like "UsEac3to" to rip the audio from the source (BD, HD-DVD, DVD).
Since thos is mostly SD, the DVD's would be the best source (NTSC discs, PAL probably with pitch-shift which you would have to correct).
The HDTV rips or any web rips aren't entirely a decent source to use editing projects like this.
HDTV isn't nearly consistent as the DVD sources. And depending on the network, maybe had the dynamic range compressed too much.
You can try and play it by ear (headphones).

The DVD is a lossy source.
And ther'e no source greater available.
HDTV would be the same AC3 format (worse if AAC, MP2,etc). So go with the DVDs that are the original intended versions.

Convert it to WAV (or flac).
Then import into something like Audacity (Adobe, Magix, etc) that works with 6 channels.
Then just delete the channels you don't need. Usually there's a way to just delete a channel.

Omit the LFE (channel six) too. Not recommended to keep the LFE in a stereo downmix (official Dolby specification).
Including the LFE may clip/distort if the playback hardware isn't compatible with having the LFE in the stereo mix (varies device to device/person to person).
Some editors here like to include the LFE. It's better to make two sets (one with LFE in stereo mix and one without LFE in stereo mix).
And it's no good to make a 2.1 mix, either. This is argued a lot in other forums with professionals and program coders.
Besides, being a TV show, a sfx that doesn't appear in the channels you want to rip music, but the sfx can end up in the LFE channel as a thud/etc. Which will alter the music you want.

After that, it's all you. Find what you want and work on it from there. Cut, crop, fade, etc.

To save it all, keep it in lossless format (FLAC, ALAC).
Or if you want, convert to something like Opus or AAC.
Going lossless means you only converted it once and all the original content is kept.
Going to MP3, AAC, Opus, OGG, etc will mean you have converted it twice. Which will lose details the more you convert it to another lossy format.
Going extremely high bitrate for AAC and Opus won't help retain details. After a point, you're just wasting bits (space).
MP3 doesn't matter. Maybe 256 max-worth of audible content. Or even V1/V2 for VBR. And disabling the lowpass filter probably won't make a difference either.
Saving the work is probably where most people here get paranoid and use placebo settings.
I'd say this probably where most make their mistake, but the whole process can be a mistake, too.
Some will downmix wrong. Using Dolby Pro Logic matrixes makes it an oddity for those listening to simple stereo system.
Some download movies and just rip the lossy DTS audio instead of grabbing a full bluray or a remux of the movie with the original audio.
There's a lot that can go wrong.

Trust me with the LFE mix.

You might get random Private Messages telling you to include the LFE.

I'll save you trouble and suicidal grief right now.
If you ask to include the LFE in stereo downmix, all the pros will laugh at you until you die. And, even then, they won't care. At all.

It literally takes zero effort to learn how to something SMART and ONLY ONCE.

If you worked construction, you'd hear a lot "work smart and not hard".
It really does pay.

Do it right from the start and you have nothing to worry about.
Do it wrong once, and expect to start from the beginning.

If I could code programs, I'd be one of the most valued members here in the forum.

But no one here cares about legal specifications for formats.
That's a hyperbole. There are few that care and their work pays off.
It takes more than just posting a link....
A LOT MORE.

When a community is based entirely on iTunes, expect the least-best you can ever achieve in life.
ALAC went public domain, but no one wants to work on it.

FLAC, however, is still getting updates.
Not on how it compresses.
But it's largely about security fixes and building improvements (since a lot of programs will be dropping XP, Vista, and 7).\
Everything is going to gear towards Windows 10. And the newest GCC buids, or the newest MSVC builds, etc. All of which will lean towards Windows 10 at x64 bit. Even x86/x32 will be obsolete in the future.

A lot of the programs that deal with editing audio, are sticking with ancient XP-compatilibility for as long as they can make a dollar.
But, I assure you, their time will end.
New programs will do the same work but keep up on Windows 10 security updates.

For if you look at the git log for FLAC, you'll see a lot security patches between the ancient versions that people stick to (large in part because they use shitty GUI's/Front-Ends/etc) compared to the latest Git clones you can find on forums like HydrogenAudio, where they are very strict in their ways (whereas you should never take advice from a Shriner unless you look at their history and know better of them).

If you look at the history for ALAC, no one cares.
It's been dead long before it went public like FLAC did.

But everyone here is a MAC user, so they need ALAC for their iTunes and other iShit.

You'll learn right quick here that most won't care to learn anything at all.

I mean, we still get a lot of users who strongly believe that WAV is better quality than FLAC/ALAC...
You can ask them, but you'll always get the non-English answer with a smiley: "May be it is and myby it isn't :)"
I assure you , the math for the coding is universal. So don't take their advice if they're from FFShrine.

If you want an asshole to tell you the truth, you come to me.
If you want to be a baby and hear only what you want to hear, go to everyone else.

you've been warned: Don't end up like the 95% of the population of Shrine.
I can go to ThePirateBay for audio:10/10vidoe10/10 comments, etc for people who don't know anything.

Jerry Goldsmith, The Mummy (1999)

I know i have posted a different version of this earlier, this one is more of a complete film version of the score (and source music)

So, this is the isolated score from the region 1 Collector's Edition of the DVD. Technically it's not really an isolated score since it's not an audiostream that plays in the film itself, rather the music as played in the Language menu. But it is the entirety of the music as it's played in the film. This means no volume fluctuations and all source music.
As a bonus, i have included the full versions of the source music and also the Goldsmith music that were mixed with source music, but without the source music. Clean versions, if you will.

There have been great posts of the newly released Intrada ISC 402. This is not it. This is the music as heard in the film, which means that most of it sounds about the same but not all of it. Some tracks are split differently and so on.

All tracks are FLAC except the full versions of the source tracks. They are as found, kept in their original MP3-format. FLAC version here does not mean lossless since the source was not lossless, but as good quality as it can be.

I will not get into the terminology of WHAT an isolated score is. Been there, done that, most people still don't get it. This is the music without speech and SFX because there never were any speech or SFX in the audiostream.

Link? PM only. Ask here and you most certainly will be ignored.

Yes it was. I don't have the Bluray, but if you are only interested in the music, I have a 50-track combined version of all sources - BDiso [lossy FLAC], OST [lossless FLAC] and sessions [MP3-320]. I didn't keep the composer commentary segments, though.

Hello friends!

I was about to buy the 1997 laserdisc of BAMBI from ebay because I would like to get the "isolated score and effects" track, which seems to be available only on this laserdisc. Then I thought, maybe someone here would know where i could get it... does anyone has it as a flac version or would you know where i could find it? I have the music-only and effect track from Snow White's laserdisc and it's is excellent!

Would you be interested in sharing your rip of the "Snow White" music & effects track? I'd very much like to get my hands on it, since there's some unreleased score on there (albeit with SFX, but it's better than nothing) that can't be found elsewhere.

Also, I second your "Bambi" request. Additionally. if anyone has a copy of the "Saludos Amigos" & "Three Caballeros" LaserDisc, I'd appreciate a rip of its isolated music & effects track as well -- as well as one for "Fun and Fancy Free", though I don't remember if that LaserDisc release had an isolated track. Feel free to correct me there.

Maybe you know?

Where does this say it has an isolated score track on one of theses?
I know there is a Knock off score called Sparks sampler out there with 27 tracks though

There is no isolated score for that film.
Music "isolation" from sound effects and dialogue from the main movie stream is not the "isolated score" in the industry context that this thread is about.

What you're looking for is an edit from the bluray audio stream.
Which will have sfx and echoed dialogue, since it's mixed for a movie experience.

bluray or DVD audio stream edit

There might have been up one done on the forum, but wouldn't remember.

I would honestly stick with the album or just listen to the move audio downmixed to stereo.
Your best bet would be to wait for a session/complete/expanded leak or LLL/Intrada to do an expanded release.

I've been waiting years for this to happen.

These are the facts for season 1:

http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=14494

No mention of an isolated score there. But i suspect you mean something else? Like, if someone has tried ripping the music only? That is not by definition an "isolated score". But perhaps you do mean a true isolated score (check the first post in this thread for my explanation of what that is) and in that case, the answer for season 1 at least is - No :)

Yes I meant a true isolated score but it seems they didn't included it on any release. Shame really as there is tons of unreleased goodies from series 1-4. Series 4 is what I wanted mainly as that was never released at all in any format and ripping from the dvd/blu-ray version yields sfx mixed in so it's not clean. Thanks anyways.

Unfortunately it's a common misconception and one that I believe has kept many users from checking my thread out. They expect to find those rips with speech and SFX. Here's my definition from the very first post in the thread (and not that many bother to have a look at it, which they really should) on what an Isolated Score is and isn't:

An isolated score is simply the music as a separate audio track on the DVD/BluRay (as opposed to the regular audio track with speech and SFX). Sometimes there is only music, sometimes it has the composer's commentary as well and if you're lucky, those commentaries do not mix with the music. There might also be significant drops in music volume due to composer's commentaries and those isolated scores takes a lot more work before they're done.
Rips of the front or rear or any channels with sfx and/or speech are NOT isolated scores but "simply" something where someone has tried isolating the music from the speech and SFX.
This thread will not have any such rips. It will only be about isolated scores.

Because it's a Twilight Time release. It'c not available anymore from what i can see and the pricetag with shipping would have been far higher than i would have been prepared to pay. But if you are willing to to buy it yourself, i would be willing to do the ripping :)

It's available from the usual sites like Amazon, ebay, etc., although you should make sure the seller is really offering the TT release.

Ok, I'm not sure how much clearer I can make it... I've put it in the very first post in this thread and I've put it in each and every post containing "forbidden" scores - There are some labels and releases that I am not allowed to share here with me risking getting banned if I do. It's there in red letters, please don't ask for them. The belonging post is just left there by me for "educational" purposes. For those interested in the tracklisting, if nothing else.

Yes, of course. What they do is appreciated. But it would have been nice to be mentioned as well, considering all the time and effort i've put into this thread :-P Far too easy to be bitter when i get requests for this and that, but nowhere near as many signs of appreciation. Don't get me wrong, some do which always makes me glad.

Does anybody else have the Columbo blurays? I have the set from Japan that comes in the nice cigar box that has the M&E tracks on some episodes, but don't have a bluray drive on my computer so I can't rip them. Just curious.

And yes, I do know the isolated audio channels on those discs still unfortunately have the effects on those episodes - but it is the score isolated without any dialogue whatsoever.

Frequency - Isolated DVD score - Michael Kamen

Ok, here's the deal with this isolated score: Most of it was easily ripped, but there were some cues that had Michael Kamen talking over them. These are the same cues that were missing in the isolated rips i had found earlier and for some "odd" reason also were missing in the "promo" i found. Hmmm... wonder why.
Anyway, i have tried my best in restoring these cues and this is what i managed to come up with. Take it or leave it.

Now for the score itself: I have to say it grew on me. Something Charlie and the Chocolate Factory didn't do. There's the main piano theme here that i find hauntingly beautiful.

And for something new this time: I will be including some extra stuff that i found. The script for Frequency, written by Toby Emmerich and also an interview with Michael Kamen (and some others).

Well, here's the info for this score:1. New Line Cinema Logos (0:16)
2. Main Titles (2:00)
3. Rescue (1:20)
4. October 10th 1969, Aurora Borealis (1:16)
5. October 10th 1999, Alone (1:34)
6. Memories (1:19)
7. Ham Radio (0:35)
8. Connection Lost (0:34)
9. The Discovery (0:29)
10. Remembering (0:59)
11. Father and Son, Thirty Years Apart (5:57)
12. The Buxton Fire (8:29)
13. I'm Still Here Chief (3:21)
14. Catching Up (4:08)
15. Changing the Past, Changing the Present (1:57)
16. Who are You (1:24)
17. Something Happened (1:16)
18. Hunting the Nightingale (1:56)
19. Lucky Break (1:12)
20. Talking to the Family (1:42)
21. The Next Victim (1:14)
22. Sissy Clark (0:54)
23. Too Late (1:42)
24. The Wallet (2:58)
25. Visiting Mr. Shepard (0:59)
26. Skeletons in the Closet (1:07)
27. Under Suspicion (1:27)
28. Just Watch the Game (0:43)
29. Frank in Trouble (5:19)
30. The Trap (0:32)
31. Escape, Pt 1 (0:16)
32. Escape, Pt 2 (0:58)
33. The Chase (2:26)

I wonder if Calidoran or anybody else in the thread could help me out ripping this? I know this may be of little interest, but I'm looking for a rip of the isolated music score to the 1980 horror film 'Death Ship' by Ivor Slaney: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Death-Ship-Blu-ray/51053/#Review

I found the blu with music track online and separated it into tracks, etc. Thread about it here: Thread 230274

I found the blu with music track online but the audio levels vary so will take time to fix.

That would be great, thanks for taking on the task.

Frecuency received, Thank you Calidoran!!!

I hope you enjoy it :) One of my favourites among all the DVDs and Blurays with isolated scores. Bicentennial Man and Pleasantville are among those as well.

And this is why i ask of you to send me a PM with the request... I have a crappy connection at the moment, so not doing much in the way of up/downloading and therefor not watching these forums all that much. I do however get instant notifications by mail when someone PMs me here, which i will respond to as fast as i can.

Besides... If you really READ my posts it says so there and in this specific case:

Same procedure - Want? Send me a PM

I made a CUE file for Barry's "Follow Me", kind of, improvised... Don't have the original Soundtrack so I don't know official track titles.

No names to the cues because I haven't had time recently to spot the music from the film and name them individually but here is the Follow Me score edited into 37 cues.
