Ok, here we go then. This is the so called isolated score from Enemy Mine. Full of SFX and even some Drac speech. I guess this is as good as it gets but i also think that Twilight Time should have explained the fact more clearly on the back cover. Calling this an isolated score just isn't true... anyway, seeing as the latest official release is a Varese one and the upcoming is also Varese, those that wants this send me a pm for the links. a 3-part RAR, 388 MBs.

I should also mention that i have done absolutely nothing to this one, because i just don't have the energy for it right now. This one is "as is", which means the wav-file i downloaded is the "isolated" score from the ENTIRE film, from beginning to end, no cuts, no splits, just a wav-file app. 1 hour and 48 minutes long. I might do something about it in the future, but i make no promises.

And for those interested, check this out:

Enemy Mine- Soundtrack details - SoundtrackCollector.com (http://www.soundtrackcollector.com/title/1605/Enemy+Mine)

the upcoming Varese CD Club release looks interesting :)

Just tried to PM you for the Enemy Mine iso score, but I keep getting a database error message. I kept hitting submit, so either you'll get a bunch of duplicate PMs or none at all. Either way, PM sent. Thanks.

For those reading this... this weekend's upload (right after work today) will be Michael Kamen's Frequency (isolated DVD score). I've managed to squeeze out some extra minutes of music i haven't seen around before (i might be wrong though), hope you enjoy it. Also thinking of doing some changes to the way i'm sharing... we'll see.

Ok, here's the deal with this isolated score: Most of it was easily ripped, but there were some cues that had Michael Kamen talking over them. These are the same cues that were missing in the isolated rips i had found earlier and for some "odd" reason also were missing in the "promo" i found. Hmmm... wonder why.
Anyway, i have tried my best in restoring these cues and this is what i managed to come up with. Take it or leave it.

Now for the score itself: I have to say it grew on me. Something Charlie and the Chocolate Factory didn't do. There's the main piano theme here that i find hauntingly beautiful.

And for something new this time: I will be including some extra stuff that i found. The script for Frequency, written by Toby Emmerich and also an interview with Michael Kamen (and some others).

Well, here's the info for this score:1. New Line Cinema Logos (0:16)
2. Main Titles (2:00)
3. Rescue (1:20)
4. October 10th 1969, Aurora Borealis (1:16)
5. October 10th 1999, Alone (1:34)
6. Memories (1:19)
7. Ham Radio (0:35)
8. Connection Lost (0:34)
9. The Discovery (0:29)
10. Remembering (0:59)
11. Father and Son, Thirty Years Apart (5:57)
12. The Buxton Fire (8:29)
13. I'm Still Here Chief (3:21)
14. Catching Up (4:08)
15. Changing the Past, Changing the Present (1:57)
16. Who are You (1:24)
17. Something Happened (1:16)
18. Hunting the Nightingale (1:56)
19. Lucky Break (1:12)
20. Talking to the Family (1:42)
21. The Next Victim (1:14)
22. Sissy Clark (0:54)
23. Too Late (1:42)
24. The Wallet (2:58)
25. Visiting Mr. Shepard (0:59)
26. Skeletons in the Closet (1:07)
27. Under Suspicion (1:27)
28. Just Watch the Game (0:43)
29. Frank in Trouble (5:19)
30. The Trap (0:32)
31. Escape, Pt 1 (0:16)
32. Escape, Pt 2 (0:58)
33. The Chase (2:26)
34. Finally Over (3:55)
35. Return of the Nightingale (4:57)
36. The Ballgame & End Credits (6:26)

Can't remember if I asked this before, but did anyone happen to snag the Blu Ray for Night of the Living Dead (1990) (Twilight Time)? It has an isolated score track, but it sold out rather quickly.

I guess i will not be getting any of the Twilight Time releases since they are a bit "pricey" to start with and besides that i have to order them from abroad which adds up in the end. Should anyone have them and want to trade AC3s (or whatever format the isolated is in) with me, just say the word...

Blu-ray Movie Specs (Audio Type: Isolated Score, Track Type: Main Title, Video Type: Main, Squid Rank: Audio: Highest to Lowest) (http://www.cinemasquid.com/blu-ray/movies/specs?audio-type=isolated-score&track-type=main-title&video-type=main&sort=release-audio-score&dir=desc)

Only just found this thread and my request (previously posted there (Thread 122734)) is the following:

Here's a long shot. I'm looking for the incidental music of the Zorro series (1957) with Guy Williams as Zorro. (not the well-known theme song)
Believe me the soundtrack isn't just out there... This has been some kind of Holy Grail to me.

The music was written by William Lava, confirmed by this site:

...The Walt Disney Zorro series has several important ties to past versions of Zorro. The outstanding music for Zorro's Fighting Legion was composed by William Lava, who also did the excellent music for the Disney series. During some episodes of the Disney series, the music sounds very similar to what was heard in Zorro's Fighting Legion. ...
A mystery why this was never released on cd...
Some years ago I asked the same question in some other forum. And hooray when someone said he was in the process of making a rip... however the proof never materialized...
So here's my second attempt at trying to reclaim some youth sentiment...

I'd be very happy and I'm sure I wouldn't be alone...

No download manager needed. You don't mention what browser you use and you don't mention what links are causing you problems... I would say - Get an AD-Blocker because you should definitely not need any d/l manager. And besides, it removes a whole lot of otherwise unwanted stuff as well...

As far as i can see there is no isolated music on that release. The only audio is "English Dolby Digital 2.0 mono, French Dolby Digital 2.0 mono, Italian Dolby Digital 2.0 mono and Spanish Dolby Digital 2.0 mono. Which means that trying to isolate music from that will be very difficult. And as i said, no isolated music as a separate audio track. Sorry...

I have not seen any blogs cover isolated scores.
Just the retails and some bootlegs.

It would make for a nice development.
It's hard to find information on isolated scores, let alone if they exist or not.

I would be all for a blog.
Reviews, technical specs, info if there's SFX in it or a commentary by the composer. And also DVD/BD region.

Blu Ray for Night of the Living Dead (1990) (Twilight Time)

I had no idea about this.
I will try look for a BD Remux with the isolated score.
If I find one, I can demux the isolated score and work on tracks.

But it will take time. About a month's work if I find one.

I'm currently working on doing Big Trouble In Little China from my BD.

Update on John Carpenter's "Big Trouble In Little China" isolated score (in 48kHz/24 bit depth/5.1 surround sound).

The audio is extracted (bit-perfect, using eac3to and ArcSoft version 1.1.0.0 to extract the DTSHD-MA).
Have the audio broken down into smaller tracks rather than a single track, closely resembling album tracks.
Just need to go in and break them into actual tracks and insert silence where needed.
Some of the tracks in their current state only have less than a second of silence in between cues, so that might cause some issues with devices with poor buffering settings.
After that converting to FLAC.

Also considering doing a downmix, since the Sampling Rate is higher than the LaLaLand CD (48kHz VS. 44.1kHz) and also the bit depth is significantly higher than the LLL CD (16 bit VS. 24 bit).
The downmix FLACs in 48/24 should greatly improve the listening experience for those technically equipped, or who wish to do any editing of their own.

Here's an isolated score that's been sitting half done on one of my HDs for a long time. I decided to get it done and out of the way. It's a nice score, nothing more, nothing less. The film itself is quite watchable with Johnny Depp anno 1999. I've also added the end credits from the original 5.1 DTS audio track if you want a better source for that.

The "OWM 2000" release is the bootleg i disappointed.

I'm agree with the review by "Jaime - Spain", can be read at:
www.vangelis-rarities.com - Chariots Of Fire - Private Release - OWM 2000 (http://www.anunna.net/vangelis-rarities/newsite.php?methode=methode1&id=37)

Here it is:
"Look‚ I have a problem with this one. If I had to judge the quality of the music contained here I should give it a 5.. It's "Chariots of Fire"‚don't need to say more. But if I had to judge the quality of this release I must give it a two‚ since it is a bit of a lie. You see all that tracksand you think of lots of themes contained in the movie that are not on the official album‚ but they're not. For the most part they are excerptsfrom the long suite in the B-Side of the album. So what you get here is the official album‚ but cut and disordered‚ plus little excerpts of musicheard on the movie‚ but all they very short to satisfy you. In fact you only wish Vangelis would had released them also officially. The openingtitles heard on the movie differ a bit from the "titles" of the official release‚ and "Training"‚ "Olympic Trials" or "Prepare to go" are interestingbut then again too short... I think you better go to the shop and buy the official release... Even if you already have it."

I'm afraid some will be disappointed in this then... not sure what i will do: Post it with or without source music. If i decide to go with score music only, it will be short - about 28 minutes. I think that is what i will upload and then if there's demand for it, i guess i could upload a version WITH source music. Anyway, uploading today or tomorrow.

Edit: I found and downloaded the OWM version. Not sure what the source is there. Some tracks have people cheering so i assume it's the DVD, but then there are tracks that are definitely not in the isolated score. I might try ripping the films regular audio track (with speech and SFX) and see if i can get something from there. But the listing above is the isolated score audio track, straight from the BluRay and has no SFX or speech whatsoever...

Edit 2: Quote from the above review "For the most part they are excerpts from the long suite in the B-Side of the album". I guess that's the source for some of the tracks.

Maybe the source music doesn't fit well with the original score.
I've never seen the movie, but liked the album soundtrack at early 80's for the music itself.
To get the iso score from bluray is a valuable work, and think many people will be gratefull with that.

Since the film release of this was by 20th Century Fox, I cannot share any links, publicly or privately. I hope you understand that i don't want to risk a ban. I will leave the info for it though, for "educational" purposes.

... and here we have it: The isolated score for Chariots of Fire. I don't know if i have heard any scores that are quite as uplifting as this one. The main theme makes you want to go out and run. Rightaway. Abraham's theme (here present in the tracks Lost and of course Abraham's Theme) is quite romantic and very beautiful. If it fits the persona of Abrahams i leave it up to you to decide. The theme for Eric Liddell is almost as heroic as the main theme and we first catch a glimpse of it in the track 200 yards. It comes to full in tracks 16 and 17: Eric's Theme and Glory.

What to say more about this isolated? It's short (at 28 minutes) so if you were expecting more, get the excellent official release. Also i would say the official release is more orchestral. This is (i think) only synth driven. Not that it's a bad thing. If you watch the film, you will not notice it as much as if you only listen to this isolated.

Sit down and listen to this one. It will only steal 30 minutes of your life. Or rather, sit down and watch the film if you can spare another 1 hour. The music is inspirational, but get the film to accompany it and you have something that's almost a classic.

Thank you, Calidoran, for this awesome release. You've put out some amazing ISOs in this ber-thread of yours and "Chariots of Fire" definitely ranks among the best!

Here's an interesting tidbit many of your fans probably already know, but I learned just recently while watching "Chariots" with the commentary. Apparently director Hugh Hudson originally wanted Vangelis' "L'Enfant" (released on the 1979 album "Opera Sauvage") to be the title theme, and the beach running sequence was actually filmed with "L'Enfant" playing in the background for the runners to listen and pace to. But after much lobbying, Vangelis convinced Hudson he could write an even better piece for the film's opening, and the "Chariots of Fire" theme we all know and love was born.

Imagine "Chariots" opening with this piece instead...

The Chariots of Fire rip sounded great, thanks for sharing. The main title track sounded better to me than I ever heard it before from other sources. I guess I could describe it as more "meaty" mix; fuller soundscape; somehow more strength & mixed very different. Great source there. Thanks again.

I think they put the recording sessions in as the isolated score because what's in the isolated is not quite what's in the film (as you can hear in the End Credits). Some tracks in the isolated are definitely not played in the film, if you compare. I also found this in MP3 somewhere on the net, not sure where but it didn't have any track titles (i made those up), only slate numbers which i included. Anyway, the score and film as such has its merits :) not all together good, but not all together bad either. I would have liked to hear what Morris could have achieved if he would have tried to develop the viking theme in Coming Attractions.

Luckily, someone already ripped it. :bearclap:
And I found a complete remux with the iso intact. :bearclap:

Now I get to enjoy the movie AND listen to the iso.

Going to work intensively on Big Trouble On Little China this upcoming week.
Been delaying it too long with other projects.

1) Break it down into tracks.
2) Create 5.1 FLACs and 2.0 downmixes.

Wise decision. Twilight Time's releases can be a bit... (what's the word?). What they released when it came to Enemy Mine by Jarre would not qualify as an isolated score in my book, but that's what they chose to call it. I can only say that if i had ordered something like that, expecting an isolated score and then got what i got... let me put it in this Gollum-ish way (since it's that time of year): "Twilight Time is not my friend"

What sucks is how some of the popular titles released from Twilight Time (such as Fright Night and Night of the Living Dead) sell out rather quickly, and then it goes REALLY beyond what most people are willing to shell out. Sigh....

Granted, at least I know I can always buy those on ebay, but I am in absolutely no hurry to pay that much money right now. Maybe later, but not now.

This is probably a dumb question but I have never heard the term "remux". What is that...another term for a rip of the bluray?

Yes.

It's a 1:1 copy of the movie as it is on the Bluray disc.
The movie is copied to MKV or other format without any transcoding. The same for any audio streams selected.
Typical remux size is anywhere from 20GB to 55GB, depending on well the transfer is.
Some movies I've seen are only 16GB when remuxed (Immortals was).
The resolution is full 1080p (1920x1080 with black bars) and full bit rates (20-35mbps).
The audio is mostly lossless: DTS-HD Master Audio/Dolby TrueHD/PCM
Some movies, however, don't offer a lossless audio track will offer lossy DTS audio (DTS-HR...High Res...which is still lossy)(DTS-ES).
Or offer the lossy AC3 core audio (AC3@640kbps).
Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior is in AC3@640kbps, the one I have anyway. I don't know if there's another pressing out there or not with lossless audio, but I'm still happy with what I got.

Most 1080p rips you'll find online are down-converted versions.
Resolution: 1920xVariableHeight (with cropped black bars)
Bit rates: 8-14mbps
audio: lossy DTS core/lossy AC3 core

They're okay if you're just going to watch a movie.
But if you have the high end hardware to fully utilize the lossless audio or you want to do some editing, it's best to get the lossless audio and never ever ever work with the lossy audio.

Hmmm.

Big Trouble In Little China is proving difficult.
There's little to no breaks of silence in between music cues.

Looks like breaking it down into splits didn't work.
I added split points where it was audibly quiet on my speakers.
Which is completely different when viewed in Adobe Audition.

I will have to re-rip this into a w64 extension and view the whole movie as a single file and work from there.
Kind of sucks.

The "tracks" I had for 6 and 7 on the Bluray turned out to be Track 6 (combined) on the album.
Reripping today and pin pointing more accurate "album tracks" from the single wave file.

I might as well view the LaLaLand album in Adobe Audition to get a better idea of what I'm looking for rather than time cues.

Re: THE 6TH DAY isolated score....

I have practiced on some music tracks with changing volumes in my time, where I select specific areas with my cursor and normalise different percentages until I am satisfied with the level, and repeat until the whole track is done. Granted it is hard work and time consuming, but if the volume changes aren't too gradual, then it works.

I've found this artwork for a new Fright Night score album. The isolated score from the BR is incluided apart from other rare tracks. I don't know if it's the same version that Blondie & friends have been working on, but it looks great! if someone finds the links to download the album please share it here!!

Here's the link to the web where you can find the artwork:

Brad Fiedel – Fright Night (Ultimate Edition) | Lost Scores (http://pagemaster65.wordpress.com/2012/11/08/brad-fiedel-fright-night-ultimate-edition/)

I was honest then and still am. It's been a Labour of love for me and I''ve put 2 years into this project. I never wanted it to take this long. My original intention was to release all pieces as one big set, not in pieces and now it has. Pagemaster' s artwork is part of our huge artwork collection for this project.

Thanks but was not after the artwork , the individual keeps saying they have the isolated score but has been promising this for months ....

I hated the wait as much as you since I put in so much work. I would have loved to have released it in the summer but I couldn't without the artwork

Yeah, I know, I really wish he would just upload the isolated score. Look, I get it, he wants to present a complete package including artwork, but I really have no need for artwork, none whatsoever. And I'm assuming most people just want to listen to the iso score. Just wish he would share the music for that one. (Please?)
Sorry dude but I don't do things by halves, only wholes. It's my way of creating a definitive collection, eliminating anymore multiple albums claiming to have missing tracks.

Ok, let me start by saying that i'm sorry things have been a bit slow in this here thread of mine. The problem is that i'm running low on motivation when it comes to a lot of things right now and since this isn't something i can make a living on... well, enough of me feeling sorry for myself. Yet another great score: Contact by Alan Silvestri. I've added 2 extra tracks compared to the isolated score (which includes source music) and that is the first and the last file. I borrowed the idea from another rip of this so i take no credit for them. They're called Soundwaves Through Time, and those of you that have seen the film, know what i mean with that title. The first track is in stereo and the last is in surround for those of you that can enjoy that. It gives it another dimension i think ;) Enjoy, Like and Boost my rep, please.

Tracklisting:1. Soundwaves Through Time (see txt-file) (source) (2:17)
2. Life Out There (1:20)
3. Awful Waste of Space (1:45)

Just wanted to let you know, that I ordered the UK TV series 'Frozen Planet', that has an isolated score on the bluray. Most of the episodes have been scored by George Fenton.

The amount of work needed will be huge with like 128 tracks and more than 258 minutes of music, so please be patient.
Silva Screen will release portions of the score this year.

Just finds your thread. Great Work Thanks for "Stand by me" songs and score, I looking for this very very long time. Also, Glory, Chariots of Fire and Alien Biu-ray. But on Alien DVD I find "original" version link say about "full slots, try again" and "theatrical" link is all down, Could you up this link again?
And for Alien isolated music i remembered (for a long time) on DVD there are many isolation music tracks, one that seems to be ambient music and not goldsmith's score (use during hypersleep scene), have you ever heard this?

Links updated. As for what you call the ambient music... i'll have to check my DVD and get back on that.

Edit: Ok, what hypersleep scene are you refering to? The one in the beginning or the one at the end? And are you refering to the theatrical version of the music or the one that Goldsmith originally composed?

Edit2: Ok, i am assuming you mean the hypersleep sequence at the end before the end credits... The end credits themselves (in the original version) use music from 'Symphony No. 2 ('Romantic') by Howard Hanson. And as it says at IMDB - "Incidental music from 'Symphony No. 2 ('Romantic')" is used in the film so i think that's what's playing when Ripley is doing her monologue and signing off thing. What i can say is that it's not present in any of the isolated tracks.

For your kind answer about alien's music, as i remembered it's in the beginning of the film before everyone wake up, there was an isolated music track, the one that was not familiar for music use in that scene, it sound like electronic "temp music" rather than Jerry's music or symphony music at the end, so i wondered to myself, never heard about other music rather than what you mentioned. But that was a long time ago and I can't find that DVD anymore, however I may be misunderstood for myself after check out your work.

For other links update: I check "Joan of Arc" , all zippyshare down, thank in advance

And just a little request, if they are already in your list. 1. "Yellow Submarine", you could recuse Sir George Martin's amazing score. And 2. "The Big Blue" which it's should be with Serra's isolated music, and (if lucky) with Bill Conti's alternate score for US release (the later I don't know it exists as isolated score or not.
Thanks and best wish for a next year.

And now... for one of my favorite movies - Stand by Me. The isolated DVD Score contains some score tracks by Jack Nitzsche (basically variations on Ben E. King's Stand by Me) and the rest is songs from the era. In the isolated track, these songs are incomplete so i have instead used the official soundtrack release for most of them and the others i have found here and there in flac format. As a bonus, i have included the music from the Pie Eating Contest scene. Those of you that have seen the film know which one i mean ;) Enjoy!

And hey... if you haven't seen the film, do so :)

At the moment, not much of anything is going. I bought myself some new hardware (motherboard, CPU, memory sticks and HD) and i am in the full process of getting everything in order. The hardware installation went as smoothly as possible, but then both Windows 7 and my AV/firewall decided i was trying to install them on a new computer and entered time limit mode... just managed to convince each company of that it IS still me and it IS still the same computer and got my licenses working again. Now it's "just" a matter of organizing my files... and i can tell you there are a LOT of them as i'm doing what i am doing with Isolated scores and such. I'm hoping to be able to slow down and enjoy my new hardware this weekend though and then... on to new projects.

Perhaps this is another case of thinking an isolated score is the same as a rip of the rear (or front) channels and trying to isolate the music... which it's not.

I doubt Melvin will read that, so if you want him to get your question, send him a message. Here's some info on the Tangerine Dream's isolated score to Legend:

Comparison Legend isolated score vs. the official Varese release:

Isolated Score

1. Once Long Ago (1:21)
2. Opening (2:24)
3. The Cottage (3:15)
4. Unicorn Theme (3:22)
5. Goblins (2:58)
6. Fairies (2:53)
7. Blue Room (3:19)
8. The Dance (2:14)
9. Darkness (3:01)
10. The Kitchen & Unicorn Theme Reprise (4:53)

Total Time: 29:40

Official CD

1. Is Your Love Strong Enough (Bryan Ferry) (05:12)
2. Opening (02:54)
3. Cottage (03:19)
4. Unicorn Theme (03:21)
5. Goblins (03:01)
6. Fairies (02:57)
7. Loved By The Sun (Jon Anderson) (05:56)
8. Blue Room (03:24)
9. The Dance (02:24)
10. Darkness (03:05)
11. The Kitchen/Unicorn Theme Reprise (04:53)

So basically, track 1 is new, track 2 is different and the songs are missing. If you want the best quality (true lossless), get the CD. I can upload my flac rip of the isolated score (though that will not be true lossless) if people really want it. But it will be a "send me a request through PM" since Varese did the official release. Any requests for the links here will be very much ignored.

Thank you. No worries though, there are plenty of versions of the DVD-rip on the net - the Blu-ray would have been something new. But thanks for the reply!

The Bluray I have in mind hits the streets on Feb 12, 2013. I'm sure someone will do a rip then. The Bond Bluray box set doesnt seem to have an isolated score track - at least not in my country.

The only info i can find is this:

Audio commentary - Music commentary: composer John Debney (on selected scenes)

... says nothing about him commenting on an isolated score. And there is a 2 DVD version:

Region 1 - Fox - The Definitive Edition
Region 2 - MGM - Director's Edition

Forgive me ! Can you explain more about music commentary JD selected scenes !

You could use DVD Decrypter to rip the AC3 audio track from the DVD and then EAC3TO to convert the AC3 to preferred number of channels and format. Try it, it's both fun and interesting ;) Otherwise i guess i could upload my rip of it (flac from the lossy source). Another alternative is to get the Numenorean CD release of it which is essentially the same.

check that out and then you know as much as i do ;)

I have Tomorrow Never Dies on Blu-ray. Bought it back when it came out (it was a store-specific exclusive)

The isolated score track on it is only one incremental step up from the DVD release in terms of quality:

The DVD was Dolby Digital 2.0 at 192kbps.

The Blu-ray is Dolby Digital 2.0 at 224kbps.

224kbps is the next level up before the maximum bitrate for 2.0, which is 384kbps.

So it's not (in my opinion) worth the minor difference in bitrate to rip it from the Blu-ray disc.

In the US it's a Target store exclusive until February 13, while here in Canada it was a Future Shop exclusive but it came out October 21 of last year.

Future Shop is basically Canada's version of Best Buy, though we also have Best Buy. Best Buy got a few of the other Bond Blu-rays as well. They were spread around as store specific titles in places like that and Walmart.

I don't have Passion of the Christ... sorry if you got that impression of what i said. And full HQ MP3? That in itself is a contradiction. The DVD source of this is lossy from the start and to rip it to MP3 would degrade the quality even further. In short: There is no such thing as full HQ MP3 ;) If i had the BluRay (which i don't), i could rip the End Credits in full HQ, but in order to keep it full HQ i would have to convert it to flac or any other lossless format...

Just some updates - Yellow Submarine finally arrived. Will have a look at it soon.

Also, wanted to check how big interest there would be in surround versions of my isolated rips? Of course, all does not come with surround sound, but those that do... The problem here is that unless you have a surround setup, you will not have any use for them. And also - they are BIG. Working on X-Men First Class right now, mostly for my own pleasure and i have reached half way. The combined file size of it is 444 MBs for 46 minutes and 12 seconds in FLAC. Almost 10 MBs/minut of music which is about the same size if you rip an ordinary stereo CD to uncompressed wav-files (if you want something to compare with).

Hi Calidoran!
I dont know if you know this allready, but in your "Glory" Isolated Score i believe the Volume is too high for all tracks.
Its most noticeable in the track "The Party" when the choir starts.
I know this is much work again, but can you maybe make a Remake of your "Glory" Isolated Score?
That would be too great.
Thanks so much! :)

I'm glad you didn't. I think it's unfair and strange you had to pay BluRay price for a DVD. I only found the following info on The Home Theater forum "Yellow Submarine" (1968) May 29th from Capitol (http://www.hometheaterforum.com/t/319424/yellow-submarine-1968-may-29th-from-capitol/30): "Quote:

Larry Geller: Unfortunately, it was botched on the DVD, as the isolated track sounded MUCH worse than the same songs actually IN the movie (weaker, with less separation). Not to mention the mono track changing to stereo for a whole reel of film."

But the sound on the file I downloaded sounded fine by me. How does your DVD sound? Do you think it's worth extracting?

Well, i have ripped the audio track containing the isolated score. It is in 5.1 surround and from the little i have listened to it i could at some points hear VERY faint voices. Can't say much about the quality of the sound yet though. If the voices should be in the center channel, then they are easily removed but we'll see when i get around to actually start doing something with it

Not to intrude on your conversation but I happen to have these in 5.1 m4a (iTunes format).
The Beatles tunes are true 5.1 from the BluRay (check out Yellow Submarine in 5.1).
The George Martin instrumentals are 5.1 upmixes; some from the DVD isolated score, the remainder are from the original CD (sorry the BluRay had dialogue so they couldn't be used).

The 2012 Yellow Submarine blu-ray doesn't have isolated music as the 1999 DVD has. The 5.1 audio mix on both releases, as far as I know, is something like this:

-The Beatles songs were remixed from the original 4-channels masters, so they're in true surround in their entirety in the film. This was also released as an "songtrack" in 1999 and reissued in 2009 together with the Beatles remastered box-set;

-George Martin (the Beatles long time producer and composer of the musical score for this and other Beatles theatrical features) recorded the film score twice: once for the film (only mono masters survives) and once for the 1969 original soundtrack and later CD reissues (all in wonderfull stereo sound). For the 5.1 remix, both of the recorded scores were used (sometimes in the same cue). That's why it shifts back and forth from surround to mono through the movie. Only the old Laserdisc and VHS (at least prior to 1999) actually contains the entire mono score as George Martin recorded for the film (but not in isolated form). The 2.0 mono track from the DVD is not true mono, but a mix-down (at least in some instances). I don't have the 2012 blu-ray, so I can't say if it's the same.

The real gem of the isolated score is actually the George Martin musical score. Even in mono and with volume shifts to conform with dialogue and SFX (I don't know if that's the correct term) it's a beatiful score and it's worth paying an extra buck to get it because it's closest we're gonna get.

My uploads are always flac for the best possible quality, even if it's a lossy source. Ok, that makes sense, but I'm here for the isolated score as I already have heard the usual CD-album tracks for a long time. Thanks all the same for sharing. Always interesting to compare versions :)

30 dollars plus shipping? Right... Feel free to buy it though and i can assist with the rest ;)

Seriously, for that price, there are only a few scores that would i even consider buying the DVD or BluRay for and unfortunately Christine is not one of them. I'll keep an eye open though and see what might show up. The possibilities are... many

I know it will, but will it be a complete BluRay rip including the audio track containing the isolated score? Not so sure about that. Been looking and looking and looking for one of those rips for the Blue Lagoon BluRay, but NOTHING. Just the regular rip with the regular audio track containing sfx and speech... :(

Most rips don't even bother with audio commentaries, which are usually THE most sought-after extra for any movie. Sometimes there will be separate torrents of all extras, but the commentary isn't among them.

Therefore isolated scores have an even slimmer chance of being included in these things.

Calidoran

And i'm member of a torrent site that puts up complete BluRays... everything included. So one can always hope... even though they are not known for uploading Twilight Time releases

Regarding the new Christine Blu Ray . . . SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was just about to break down and order it, but it's already sold out! (MOTHERFUCKING SON OF A BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Sigh.... Was ANYONE able to snag a pre-order on this before it got wiped out?

If not, then now it's going to be just like Fright Night, which is now being sold on ebay for about $300. This limited Twilight Time shit is really getting old. Fucking makes me sick. There is no way on earth that anyone should have to shell out $300 just for one Goddammned blu ray.

Pale Rider (1985) ?

What about it? It doesn't have an isolated score if that's what you're asking. I'll quote some parts from my first post in this thread which i assume everyone reads (sarcasm)

I don't have the time to check all the links regularly so should you want something and the links are dead, send me a PM, DON'T clutter the thread with requests for re-ups. I will be likely to ignore those.

An isolated score is simply the music as a separate audio track on the DVD/BluRay. Sometimes there is only music, sometimes it has the composer's commentary as well and if you're lucky, those commentaries do not mix with the music. There might also be significant drops in music volume due to composer's commentaries and those isolated scores takes a lot more work before they're done.
Rips of the front or rear or any channels with sfx and/or speech are NOT isolated scores but "simply" something where someone has tried isolating the music from the speech and SFX.
This thread will not have any such rips. It will only be about isolated scores.
