I have had the Bicentennial ISO a while. There are some volume consistency issues in the set i have. Has anyone else noticed, or is it just my archive??

---------- Post added at 03:38 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:36 AM ----------

That is the one thing about the ISO stuff, they are the music exactly as heard in the film. For those who want the film edit, that is ggod news. But, if the track fades out early etc in the movie, it will do so on the ISO too. Especially with the source music cues, as was the case here.

You've had A rip of the isolated score, but i think you should try my rip :) i think i have managed to fix that quite well

I beg to differ. I almost never leave a track untouched, but try to fix the volume inconsistencies you mentioned earlier (and of course noise reduction). However if a track should fade as you also mention... that is something i don't try to correct. Should there be composer's commentaries that mix with the music, i try to use the original release to repair that in order to get the tracks as close to what's really heard in the film.

In short: I put a LOT of work into my rips of isolated scores. Not just - RIP IT, SPLIT IT, LEAVE IT ;)

Since the film release of this was by 20th Century Fox, I cannot share any links, publicly or privately. I hope you understand that i don't want to risk a ban. I will leave the info for it though, for "educational" purposes.

Time for the 4th installment in the Planet of the Apes series - Conquest. An isolated BluRay score by Tom Scott. Can't put any links here because of the other almighty record company. What i can do is compare what they released with what was on the isolated score. Theirs has a running time of 38:40 and the isolated has 45:20. Some of the tracks from the official release has combined some of the tracks from the isolated to longer ones and one or two are shorter in the official release. What i can't understand is why the last two tracks in the isolated aren't in the official release at all. Perhaps someone else can shed some light on that?

Tracklisting:1. Main Title (2:24)
2. Armando and Caesar (1:39)
3. Ape Servitude (2:36)
4. 1991 Restaurant (1:14)

Well If you listen to the main titles on the Danny Elfman & Tim Burton 25th anniversary set, there is a slight but noticeable difference. There is a short clip of another instrument right before the main theme starts that i didnt hear on the DVD Track.

There are more differences (as you already have noticed, i presume). All the song parts on the official release are instrumental parts on the isolated score (that's what i'm working on right now). I'm trying to mix the official release with what is on the isolated, but they are different so it will take some time to mix. Almost done though :) perhaps tomorrow.

Here's an isolated score from the musical side of Hollywood. A musical that turned into a film. Or was it a film that turned into a musical? Or a film that turned into a musical and then a film and then a musical again? No matter :) here's Little Shop of Horrors, a collaboration between Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Miles Goodman.

The last 2 tracks aren't from the isolated score but from the original version of the film with mono sound, hence the lower quality of the sound. I thought i'd incorporate them into this anyway. The original version of the film was screened before a test audience that didn't like the somewhat more "un-happy" ending and so the bosses got cold feet and changed that to a more suitable Hollywood style ending.

As always - Enjoy!

you might want to check with that user. Fright Night on BluRay isn't released here yet and ordering it on Internet costs a bunch with the shipping so i'm not going there... sorry

Edit: The price for it on Amazon - $159.99. So even if they sent it without cost for the shipping... no.

Patience my friends, it has been done. We're in the process of sorting out the new artwork. I did the 25th anniversary (http://theinfernomusicvault.blogspot.co.uk/2011/10/fright-night-1985-25th-anniversary.html) that was released last Halloween which had 10 new tracks. The new isolated score which I call 'The Final Cut' contain these with 6 additional tracks making 31 tracks. All previous additionals such as songs and commentaries will be a part of this new improved album, it will be out soon so sit tight

There's no official score from Michael Kamen's Frequency. The score that we know from years is from the promotional score and an isolated score

@Calidoran

I'm following every single event of your isolated score project, and I'm in awe. This is really
cool, and kudos to you for all the hard work! This is a project to stay.

But instead of focusing on scores we already have, may I suggest a soundtrack title by a
popular film composer that cries for an expanded treatment since its commercial release
in 1983?

I'm thinking about

BRAINSTORM by James Horner (1983)

The CD is just 30 minutes long, while there are still some 20 minutes of commercially
unreleased music in the film. Also, the whole album was a re-recording - a fantastic
one, but it's sometimes quite different to the score as heard in the picture. The End
Title version as heard in the picture by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra is far
superior to the album version recorded with the LSO.

This is one of my all time favorites. Please take "Brainstorm" into consideration. This
score is the ideal candidate for your isolated score project.

What's funny, the first Blu Ray hits stores in just a week:

Brainstorm Blu-ray (http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Brainstorm-Blu-ray/31659/)

But I'm not sure if it comes with an isolated track or not. There was also a laserdic,
once upon a time.

This is a no brainer, I would say. What do you think, Calidoran?

take care!
Hans

Calidoran
06-30-2012, 06:27 PM
Brainstorm is as likely a candidate as any other as long as it has the music as a separate audio track (which is what an isolated score is). If you have to start separating the music because it's mixed with speech and/or sfx, then it's not an isolated score and would have to find it's way to a thread of its own :) not trying to be negative here, but i haven't found many DVDs or BluRays that had the music readily available without too much speech/sfx - which means a whole lot more work trying to remove them and the end result is more often than not very satisfying.

Anyway, i have enough on my hands with these true isolated scores, but perhaps someone else feels up for it?

Of course I know the difference between a true isolated channel
and weeks of work removing sfx and dialogue. It's like heaven and
hell. Okay, let's check the Brainstorm Blu Ray when it is available.
And if it were only for the End Credits, it would be good enough.

You can't have isolated music only for a portion of the score, at least I don't think so. It really has to be a separate element for the whole thing, made as such by the producers of the disc.

Hans Zimmer
07-01-2012, 02:15 PM
You don't need an isolated score for the End Credits, do you?

I just re-watched the film, for the first time in many years, compairing OST and the music
in the film, making notes. I could give you a complete breakdown, but it's tricky.

To keep it simple and short: There's almost no music in the first 40 minutes of the movie,
just some subtle scoring (short cues and no real difference to the OST). The second third
features the well-known music from the OST, without any recognizable differences. It's
the last 33 minutes of the movie, however, were things get interesting. There's a whole
unreleased, 4 1/2 minute cue were Horner introduces his computer action music and it is
performed in a different, unique way not featured on the OST. Some short, striking choir
bits for the terror tapes involved, and interesting original cues for the Final Playback
montages (slightly different compared to the OST). Same goes for the End Title. Most
sequences are littered with dialogue/sound, some are pretty clean.

An isolated score would be terriffic, but something tells me that we won't get one with
the upcoming Blu Ray. Perhaps we have more luck with one of the two laser discs that
exist, one made in 1991, and the other one made in 1998? Of course, I don't have 'em.

In the meantime, I'm trying to extract what I can.

The start of the film was a bit tricky, but i'll tell you more about that when i'm done. Which will most probably be this weekend. When i'm done with that i will be uploading the same score only that will be my first attempt of doing an isolated score in surround. Yep, 5.1. But that will take quite a bit longer to accomplish so first the stereo version this weekend.

When i'm done with that i will be uploading the same score only that will be my first attempt of doing an isolated score in surround. Yep, 5.1. But that will take quite a bit longer to accomplish so first the stereo version this weekend.

Is it in FLAC 5.1 ?

Calidoran
07-06-2012, 12:32 AM
No, OGG 5.1 ;) Everything i have posted here has been and will be FLA. I'm not all together sure on this one though... A surround rip of almost 1 hour 50 minutes will be a whole lot of MBs if i do it in FLAC.

Edit: I would say that if i do this surround rip in FLAC and upload it, we're talking about 1,5 GBs. And unless you have a surround system with 5.1 speakers, it would be a total waste of time downloading that instead of the stereo version.

Since the film release of this was by 20th Century Fox, I cannot share any links, publicly or privately. I hope you understand that i don't want to risk a ban. I will leave the info for it though, for educational purposes.

Well, here it is, finally. The isolated BluRay score for X-Men First Class. What bugged me about this isolated score was that it doesn't start until 2 minutes 7 seconds into the film, when clearly there is music starting already at 48 seconds. I played the entire film listening only to the isolated score just to check if it was out of phase or something, but nope... For some reason they didn't include that first piece of music. I had to rip the original audio track and use the front channels in order to get it and that's why track 2 - Poland, 1944 has some SFX. Usually i don't like that, but for the sake of completion on this one i chose to include it. However, i also included the orginal (from the isolated track) 2 - Poland, 1944 as an alternate track 44. Those of you that absolutely can't stand SFX, just remove track 2 and replace it with track 44.

I guess the reason why the 'Poland' track is not part of the isolated music is that the music is by Michael Kamen from the first movie, and not by Henry Jackman.
The Iso scores contain only 'original' music, right ?

That was my guess as well, some licensing issue. If that is the case, could you or someone else point me to the correct track? I would LOVE to use that instead of the one i lifted with SFX in it and make this isolated better.

Edit: Actually, the isolated score should contain the music only - period. But as i said, licensing issues...

It is simply an edit of the first track of the "X-Men" album called "Death Camp".

Yes... been sitting here comparing myself. And you can clearly hear it's an edit, which would explain the absence of it on the isolated track. Too bad that they didn't use it straight off though ;) would have made it much easier for me. Well, then i guess i will leave my upload as it is because using anything from the first film would mean not using what is available in this film.

Not much difference i guess. I have included that what he/she calls "the first cue in the film. Which is actually Kamens music from the beginning of the first X-Men." And that has also been established here. So if you can stand some sfx (that i explained about in my post), you will get some additional music.

Otherwise there shouldn't be much difference other than i have split the music differently. Instead of a 10 minute track you get 3 tracks that flow into each other seamlessly. Instead of one 20 minute track you get 5 tracks that flow seamlessly into each other.

Edit: And i don't call it a "Complete score". I call it for what it is - an isolated score from the BluRay release

Anyone have the original AC3 to Carter Burwell's "The Corruptor (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0142192/)" ?
Region 1 has it. It's 5.1 as well with commentary with CB

I have the Criterion DVD of Rebecca, which has an isolated music and effects track. I haven't done a good DVD rip in a while, so I might do a rip of this one. It'll have some SFX since it's a music and effects track, but no dialogue should be in there.

I've browsed through the entire thread and clicked "Like" on the posts that i consider contributed, or if you like, said something more than "Thanks". NOTE 1: I want you to know that ALL thanks are appreciated :) However, when people can't find it in them to click "Like" even when i suggest that to them in exchange for a link i have freely PM:d when i haven't been able to post it due to forum rules, i start to wonder. Perhaps i should do what i saw was being done in another thread... unless you posted something worthwile / clicked "Like" / boosted "Rep" - you didn't get the link or the password. What do you think?
On a more positive note: My vacation is soon over (as if that is something positive :-P ) and i will start putting together guides on how i do these rips of the audiotrack with music only. I will list all the programs i use and how i use them. NOTE 2: This does not mean i will make a guide on how to edit these tracks in the program of your choice, merely how to extract the audiofile and then convert it to a wav-file. The editing is up to you, but then again, that's the fun part :)

Ok, been sitting here fiddling with the surround version of X-Men First Class as i promised... I have the track 221 - First Class (End Credits) done and i think i've got it right. It's 3 minutes 21 seconds and the size in flac (surround) is 46 MBs. Which would make the entire score land at almost 1.5 GBs in surround flac. That is a whole lot. And totally unneccesary to download for those that don't have 5.1 speakers. A complete waste of time. However, i need some people to test this and tell me i did it right and that it works on some other systems than mine. Therefor, the first five (5) that sends a PM to me asking for the download link for this track will get it. HOWEVER, and that's a big however, i expect each and everyone that i do send the link to, to report back to me and tell me how it sounds, is the sound ok, is it surround on your system as well and so on. Other input from everyone is welcome. How shall i handle this? Is 1.5 GBs too much? And since i'm a beginner at surround mixing, is there any other format that supports surround without comprimising quality too much?

So, for those interested in this, send me a PM (only the first five will get a link). For those of you that only have stereo capability, skip this post all together, this doesn't concern you. Instead go here:

First of all, read my first post in this thread on what an isolated score is. There are a lot of misunderstandings as to that. I don't isolate a score, i rip isolated scores. There's a difference :) 2nd, if you have understood what an isolated score is, then you would have to find out if Maniac Cop 3 has an isolated score by checking the web. I have browsed through the links i have and can find no info on an isolated score on that DVD so i guess you're out of luck. 3rd, i would have to have the DVD, which i don't, but perhaps then i could tell you if it was possible to do a rip of either the front or rear channels to try to get the music that way. Unfortunately again, the best available sound for this one (which i can find info on) is stereo, which would make it all but impossible to do a decent sounding rip of it. It's always a bit easier if the release has surround sound.

Sorry not to be able to give you any positive answers :)

I'm not sure what you mean here. Do you have one rip of Glory isolated and think the sound is bad in that one, or do you have MY rip and think the sound is bad in that one?

Yes, I noticed the low-quality sound too. I'm guessing the track on the DVD wasn't of the best quality.

Again, do you mean MY rip? I always appreciate feedback on my rips but i would need a little more to go on than "the sound is bad". What is bad about it? Is there too much noise? Hiss? What? I could try to make an improved rip of this one, but it would help to know what i should improve. And as Music_Lord says, it might be that the original isolated music track on the DVD just isn't good enough. Sometimes the level of sound on these tracks are so low that when you raise them to be able to hear better, that produces a LOT of background noise and removing that without affecting the overall sound quality is tricky.

But give me some more precise feedback on my rip (if that's the one you mean) and i'll see what i can do. But you have to remember, this is not factory produced CDs where i have access to excellent sources and excellent equipment to work with. I'm just a happy amateur who happens to love doing this.

I just listened to it and i have to say i can't find a lot of distortion and background noise. And as i said, sometimes you have to raise the volume level to the extent that it produces background noise. The question then is - Should i leave it or should i try to remove it, and if so, how much? I'm not saying this is the case with this one, to my old ears it sounds ok.

The forum where eac3to was developed is dedicated to audio/video technology. Many of the oldest members there are developers themselves.
They focus on providing information on bit-for-bit audio copies.

Still doesn't answer what you currently use.
DVD Audio Extractor is not a program mentioned anywhere on that development site.
Neither is some other low-end program similar in nature to DVD Audio Extractor.

But for you to not answer my question as to what you are using, the way you put it, I have complete lack of faith in the competence of your will to understand technology.

Started work after my vacation this week so i haven't had much time to post here. Just a little heads-up: I just ordered season one of the 1959 Twilight Zone and out of the 36 episodes, 34 should have isolated scores. According to Amazon: "featuring the legendary Bernard Herrmann, Jerry Goldsmith and others". I will keep you posted...

34 on 36 ?! So you're referring to the Blu-Ray edition ! That's awsome ! Many isolated scores were missing from the DVD Set Box.

A bit on the slow side here right now, but i am not letting this thread go, don't worry ;) A heads-up on what's happening right now:
I'm doing a complete make-over on Randy Newman's isolated score for Pleasantville, because it really deserves my full attention. This rip will be in stereo AND surround (which will be a whole lot MBs more though). I might consider more of them in surround somewhere in the future. Also as i have mentioned before, i bought the original Twilight Zone season 1 on BluRay. It has 36 episodes and 34 of them have isolated scores and here's the info:Where is Everybody? - Bernard Herrmann
One for the Angels - Stock music
Mr. Denton on Doomsday - Stock music
The Sixteen-Millimeter Shrine - Franz Waxman
Walking Distance - Bernard Herrmann
Escape Clause - Stock music
The Lonely - Bernard Herrmann
Time Enough at Last - No isolated score
Perchance to Dream - Van Cleave
Judgment Night - No isolated score
And When the Sky Was Opened - Leonard Rosenman
What You Need - Van Cleave
The Four of Us are Dying - Jerry Goldsmith
Third From the Sun - Stock music
I Shot an Arrow into the Air - Stock music
The Hitch-Hiker - Stock music
The Fever - Stock music
The Last Flight - Stock music
The Purple Testament - Lucien Moraweck
Elegy - Van Cleave
Mirror Image - Stock music
The Monsters are Due on Maple Street - Ren Garriguenc
A World of Difference - Van Cleave
Long Live Walter Jameson - Stock music
People Are Alike All Over - Stock music
Execution - Stock music
The Big Tall Wish - Jerry Goldsmith

Nightmare as a Child - Jerry Goldsmith
A Stop at Willoughby - Nathan Scott
The Chaser - Stock music

Well... this is the first of my rips of the isolated scores from the original Twilight Zone. The episode is Walking Distance (number 5 in season 1) and composer is Bernard Herrmann. More info on the TZ epsiodes here:

List of The Twilight Zone episodes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Twilight_Zone_episodes)

The quality of these aren't great to start with, remember they are from 1959 and onward. I've tried cleaning them up as best i could from noise and also some speech and SFX. Even though this is supposed to be an isolated score, they are there although very faint, but you could still hear them on occassion. Enjoy nevertheless :)

EDIT: Sorry to those that already downloaded this one. I've had a listen to the re-recording of this one and have renamed some of the tracks. The following tracklist is corrected. If you want to rename them yourself, do so. Otherwise i have updated the links with new track names and tags, if you feel it's easier to download it again.

Well... this is the first of my rips of the isolated scores from the original Twilight Zone. The episode is Walking Distance (number 5 in season 1) and composer is Bernard Herrmann.

Important fact : for those who think they already have some of the scores because they were already released in the 80s on LP by you-know-who - and then in the 90s on CD - they must be aware that those LPs and CDs consisted of rerecordings done after the season was over. The musicians' rules at the time allowed previously recorded music to be included as music stock library only for the season for which it was first intended. To be used in following seasons, the music had to be recorded once more and that's the re-recording stuff you actually can hear on the LPs and CDs. This is the reason why no Season Five scores appeared on the TZ CDs : Season Five was the last season and so there were no need to re-record anything for Season Six.

So Calidoran, keep bringing us such a treasures ! ;)

I was wondering if anyone has the new release of Bye Bye Birdie - I was surprised to see it has an isolated score and would love to hear it! It also reminded me of my search for the background scoring for another musical film - Thoroughly Modern Millie - Elmer Bernstein's only best score oscar winner! I hope someday that gets an isolated score release as well.

I pre ordered As Good As It Gets at their outrageous 29.99 price plus shipping for what is essentially a bare bones bluraywith the isolated score being the only reason why i went ahead and ordered at that outrageous price.

when my order arrives the bluray case feels light, but its still sealed so i open it and there is no disc. i contacted them and was given a run around, andthen told to email another person, who essentailly sent me back a go F off email response. and refused to replace my disc. needless to say I contacted paypal ,as i used my paypal debitcard to order, and asked what my options where for a company that sent me out a product that was missing the item from the case, and refused to replace it. they said for me to file a claim and escolate it, I did and paypal sided with me and refunded my money, and i sent back the empty case with a nice little letter telling them what they can go and do with that case. :)

Did you actually succeed in playing that particular isolated score ? Because I simply couldn't : the Region 2 Dvd featured only a couple of videos with John Williams conducting a few cues from ET...and that's all. No isolated score at all. Maybe with the Region 1 Dvd it's a different matter. :(

I have that DVD and i've listened to it. There is no ISOLATED SCORE, just the original soundtrack of the movie with all the SFX and speech and such, but with John Williams conducting the music live at the 2002 premiere. I haven't tried ripping it to see if anything can be done using either the rear or the front channels, but if you can't separate the music that way, you're in for a lot of stuff besides the music. I will rip it and see what comes out, but i doubt it will be useful...

And as you say:

complete with Applause and cheering.

No isolated score as such, read above. And i think it was only available on the 3 DVD Collector's Edition, but i may be wrong. Checking...

Nope, should be available everywhere:

Rewind @ www.dvdcompare.net - E.T. The Extra Terrestrial (1982) (http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=2002)

Final Edit: Just listened to it. It's in surround and by removing the center channel, i can get rid of the speech. However, both the front and rear channels are filled with SFX and sometimes the speech bleeds over even if it's faint. I'm not up for putting more work into this, sorry.

That's too bad with how Screen Archives handled your order you speak of. And I do not plan to pay the unacceptable high prices for the Twilight Time Blu-rays. I would have liked to get Mysterious Island and Journey To The Center Of The Earth, (now sold out), but I am hoping that the studios that released the films will sometime in the future put out these titles on BD with a more reasonable price. There is no reason that they could not sell abundant quantities of either title, precluding any need for a limited unit release.

Things have been very slow in this thread for a while, but that has it's reasons and those are personal. Anyway, just wanted to give you an update. I haven't dropped this thread, i will continue posting isolated scores from the first season of Twilight Zone, plus i am done with Joan of Arc by Eric Serra. I just have to watch the film so i can name the tracks. The original release has more score than many others (1 hour 4 minutes app.) but this isolated has a lot more :) It clocks in at about 1 hour and 56 minutes.

On another note - what are your favorite (free) hosts for uploading to? I did much of my uploading to PeejeShare. It was easy and had relatively good speeds, but i have noticed that they remove my uploads and re-uploads faster than people can download what i share. And so i decided to drop them. There's ZippyShare, but then i would have to start splitting the archives (max upload 200 mbs). No big deal, but still...

Anyway. Joan of Arc coming up, hopefully no later than this weekend

It's so heartwarming to see that people dislikes this thread so much that they decide to give it a low rating in the form of those stars you see beside the thread in the main Forum: Film, Television and Classical Music Download Links. And noone bothers to explain what it was that was bad. I would like to know so i can make an effort in improving... thing is you can't rate it if you have logged on here. So only those logged off and non-members can give a rating (weird system). And as far as the non-members go... what can they possibly rate? Since they can't get any of the links?

Sorry for the rant... it's just that considering the amount of time i put into these isolated score, it would be nice to get either appreciation in the thread itself (comments, "Likes" or some "Boost" to my reputation) or at least some constructive criticism... I have quite a few more isolated scores that i could share, among them the rest of season 1 of Twilight Zone plus that i just ordered season 2 as well from Amazon. I COULD make an effort to rip all seasons of Red Dwarf and season 1 of Space 1999, but i'm not so sure anymore...

But now, to all those of you that DO post a reply and show your appreciation: THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! You know who you are and it's for all of you that i keep posting here.

"ratings" are complete shit.

Because people are shit.

It's most likely people who made impossible requests.

Let not the people decide the fate of your work.
Let the work speak for itself.

This forums suffers greatly from...

1) Language barriers. "please"="RIGHT FUCKING NOW!!!"
2) Small brains. It is a known, studied fact that small brains will attack anything and everything. A rhinoceros will attack anything that moves simply because it moved. The rhinoceros attacks because it has a small brain.

Much like FFS members.

Why, in the past few days, I have been harassed by a member who demanded I re-upload a soundtrack I posted on another forum.

I simply chose to ignore those foreign demands.
The English was choppy and broken.
No sense of respect for the true art of piracy.

Treat them as they will treat you.
Keep a list of those who show their true colors, whether publicly or privately.

Since it's a region 2 DVD, there is always the speed issue. But it's not that hard to correct. Can't promise anything, but i'll at least start working on it during this week.

eac3to can re-encode audio to different framerates. It's switches for -speedup and -slowdown can adjust to the different framerates.
I have not had to use that function too much to throw in personal experience.
Most of the material I work with is NTSC standards.
But the very few times (less than 3) where I had to use the conversion, it did come out perfectly without errors.

Hey not sure you have this link but it will take you to a search list for isolated scores. Comes in handy!

Blu-ray Movie Specs (Audio Type: Isolated Score, Track Type: Main Title, Video Type: Main, Squid Rank: Audio: Highest to Lowest) (http://www.cinemasquid.com/blu-ray/movies/specs?audio-type=isolated-score&track-type=main-title&video-type=main&sort=release-audio-score&dir=desc)

And finally... i've completed it. I hope you enjoy it. The audio quality in some tracks could have been better, but it was a choice between raising the level of volume and removing noise. Let me know if any track is too badly done and i'll try and fix them again. But NO whining, the source wasn't the best to start with. If you check the tracks you will see there isn't much in the way of sound existing above the 17 000 Hz mark. Also if you want perfect mixing - get the official releases as the isolated score's mixes are not all together perfect. All that said, this has some more music than in the release i found. Don't know why he/she/they removed it...

The question of correcting the speed of the music due to region 2 DVD release is taken care of. This has the correct pitch...

The latest known release of this was by Edel, so NOT a forbidden upload. And besides, what Varese released was a re-recording. Not the actual score.

Anyway, here is the info i CAN give you:Tracklist:
1. Main Title & Elk Hunt (3:38)
2. The Comerons, Part I (0:48)
3. The Comerons, Part II (0:40)

As i have "once or twice" mentioned, please click "Like" or perhaps even the "Thumbs Up" when i post something worth your while. That helps my sadly under-achieving ego to feel a bit better ;) And also, post a comment if you like my work. Not so much for my ego, but because it helps bumping this thread so more people get a chance to see that it exists and perhaps download something they like.

That being said, next isolated score on the list is A Bug's Life by Randy Newman. It's all edited and done, i just have to watch the film and get some inspiration on how to name the tracks. I've used all the official track names from both the "regular" release and the promo, but still have a few left. The complete isolated (as in MY rip and edit) will have 60 tracks and i have to put a title on 28 of them. All in all 1 hour and 26 minutes of music (incl. "source music")

It's in flac as everything i post here. The source isn't lossless, but by converting the edited music to flac i will not be degrading it any more at least. Best possible quality but not a lossless source...

Yeah, my apologies about this. I am still waiting on my partners in crime who have been really busy over the summer with work, family and other issues. I didn't expect there to be such a long wait.
This is such a big project that I want things done right so that it leaves no room for further update(s). The album is ready, the artwork is not. My friends are great artists and I know they'll come up with something good. The next decent window of release would be Halloween which is the first anniversary of my original album release ... I just hope to have good news for you guys soon
My apologies to you, Calidoran. You're in the dark about the details and have no way of answering so I'm sorry about the burden

With the permission of Calidoran, here is a link for the isolated score of As Good As It Gets by Hans Zimmer. I have added the Art Garfunkel song that plays during the end credits between the two cues that play during the credits because it sounded weird to me without it, but feel free to remove this song if all you want is the orchestral score. There was one cue (track 36) that was on the isolated score but I could not hear playing in the movie...not sure what the deal is with that. Here is the tracklist (titles by me as I could find nothing on the ASCAP site):

11. Simon's Reflection {0:34}
12. Verdel At The Cafe {1:29}
13. Walking With Verdel / Don't Be Like Me / Writing With Verdel {1:05}

A Bug's Life... What can you say other than it's a typical Randy Newman score, for better and for worse. This time i "cheated" a little. I took the promo tracks Circus Bugs, Clown Waltz and Manto the Magnificent and used them instead of the versions on the isolated score. Why? Because these tracks had some severe volume changes (among other problems) that made it easier to use the official release. I hope noone is too disappointed... anyway:

Has anyone made a rip of the isolated music & effects track from the newly released Bluray NOTORIOUS, 1946, score by Roy Webb? I do not think a score was released. Only a couple tracks on a compilation album. Even with some of the sound effects, I think it would be worthwhile for someone to rip the score. Anyone else interested? After all, it IS a Hitchcock film. Music plays such an important role in all his films.

I agree with moviemusicsi. I would be perfectly happy with just the isolated music for Fright Night. So yeah, officially requesting the isolated score for Fright Night if you're able to share it. Thanks.

I wanted to finally say thanks for all the stuff you've ripped & posted. I love scores that match 100% with the movie so i'm loving these rips of my favorite movies you've done. I enjoyed & glad to have Assault on Precinct 13 & Contact & Last of the Mohicans & Beetlejuice & Alien. Your Alien 3 & Glory & Legends of the Fall & Matrix rips sound a cut above the rest; better than they should from the sources and other rips of i've managed to hear. Matrix rip sounds much better than the one I grabbed many years ago.....

Now your Aliens film version is a real masterpiece I really enjoy having that. It was a dream of mine to listen to the score track by track as it was used in the movie. I finally got a bluray rip (mp3) someone posted few weeks before yours and yours sounds much better than that one. Sound was so tiny and thin I didn't even have desire to listen to it again (much). Yours really blew me away compared to that one; it's what I say is the real deal; best we're gonna get it seems. The film version of the escape in the vents is a must hear track for me; my favorite new piece along with drop ship. There was yet another Aliens rip posted few weeks after yours with some tracks I think ripped from the bluray but yours still sounded far better to me; sharper, louder, and fuller. Anyone intrested in movie version of Aliens should ask Calidoran for it; it's a rarity.

Hello!
Do you plan to make an isolated Score of "The Chronicles Of Narna: Prince Caspian"?
Thanks much for your info! :)

I don't make isolated scores, i rip isolated scores. I will quote myself from the first post in this thread where i explain exactly what an isolated score is:

To clarify for those wondering:

An isolated score is simply the music as a separate audio track on the DVD/BluRay. Sometimes there is only music, sometimes it has the composer's commentary as well and if you're lucky, those commentaries do not mix with the music. There might also be significant drops in music volume due to composer's commentaries and those isolated scores takes a lot more work before they're done.
Rips of the front or rear or any channels with sfx and/or speech are NOT isolated scores but "simply" something where someone has tried isolating the music from the speech and SFX.
This thread will not have any such rips. It will only be about isolated scores.

So, basically, what i'm saying is that an isolated score is a feature on some DVDs/BluRays. You can enter the menus and chose to watch the entire film with nothing but music (or sometimes with composer's commentaries) because there is a separate audio track for that. Some people try their best at ripping either the front or the rear channels of a DVD/BluRay and then removing the speech and sfx as much as possible. This is NOT an isolated score. Check out that first post for links to sites where you can check what films have isolated scores. As far as i can see, Prince Caspian doesn't have an isolated score. I would have loved to rip it if it had an isolated and that goes for the entire series :)

I doubt it's an official release.

Are you for real?

First: Find out what an isolated score is (i'm getting tired of explaining this)
Second: Find out if the film that contains the music is even released on DVD or BluRay
Third: Find out if those possible DVDs or BluRays have the music as an isolated score

As far as i can find out: This is not available on BluRay and i can only find it on region 1 DVD. Which i'm not prepared to buy since it doesn't have an isolated.

But now for something more pleasant :) i made a find today - Chariots of Fire on BluRay. Cheap. And THIS has an isolated score. Needless to say, i bought it :)

Sorry if it came out that way. I was trying to give you the facts:

First: Find out what an isolated score is (i'm getting tired of explaining this)
Second: Find out if the film that contains the music is even released on DVD or BluRay
Third: Find out if those possible DVDs or BluRays have the music as an isolated score

1. The way you said it made it sound as if you didn't know what an isolated score is. Check out the definition in the first post in this thread.
2. I searched for any release of the film and the only one i could find was a region 1 DVD release. Which is not easily available where i live.
3. As far as i could see, that region 1 DVD didn't have an isolated score. The only other way would be to rip either the front or the rear channels of the DVD and that's assuming it has surround sound. If it's only stereo, it's all but impossible to make an acceptable rip of it, meaning without speech and sfx.

I hope that explains it further. And btw, you should try to chose your words a little more carefully ;) that is if you don't want to sound like what you said you feel like now... You came barging in, all new to the thread, and made a request (more like a demand) and expected it to be ready in a week. Perhaps you could have started by asking if anyone had it? And then checked the first post where all the main info is. And perhaps even my personal info where i list all the isolated scores i have besides the ones that are already uploaded.

In any way, sorry i can't help you with this one.

Warm Butter Design: DVD Menu Design (http://www.warmbutter.com/dvds/)

Warmbutter DVD's are hard to come by. Usually a very exclusive clientelle only and then very hard to find pirates.
Warmbutter scores have been talked about a bit in the past few years but with very little access or releases.
No one's really been able to get their hands on a Warmbutter release. I think only a couple expanded scores made it.

01. As Good As It Gets {1:21}

I've been waiting for a long time for someone to rip this.
Still plan on buying the movie since it's not in my collection.

For what movie is this from Twilight Times?
I'm still considering buying As Good As It Gets from them.

I saw a request for Big Trouble In Little China isolated score from the BD.
I have that BD and can rip the audio in 5.1.
I can do a FLAC 5.1 release.
I won't do a stereo downmix or even an MP3 downmix as it's literally the same as the LaLaLand release when it's in stereo.
The only difference is that the LLL release has an extra track for sound effects: hits, stingers, etc.

I just got a 2TB external HDD, so now I have the room to do more audio work.
I can rip the movie and then break it down into segments and do the work necessary.
I'll try to get it as close as possible to the LLL tracks.
It should take me about a month.

I also have a few requests that someone please rip the 5.1 AC3 of The Corruptor from the Region 1 DVD, it contains a commentary by the composer, Carter Burwell as the isolated score.

I'm not looking for a custom soundtrack. I'm looking for the complete AC3 from beginning to end.

The DVD I have has suffered irrepable damage.

Also if anyone can provide a complete rip of Lalo Schifrin's "Rush Hour" from the Region 1 DVD, that would be great as well.
It also has a commentary by the composer as well as the isolated score. Although, I believe it's in stereo.

And, lastly, Calidoran, can you provide the original full AC3 track of Howard Shore's "The Cell" from the Region 1 DVD. I believe it's in 5.1 without a commentary by the composer.

Or is your release a 5.1 FLAC?

Thank you for any help.

1. I can't find the film version of hamburg break out w/c what i heard was i think only a film inspiration edit or a second version, movie version inspired edit, not really the one as heard in the film, and the last goodbye too has a film version different from its ost release,(cues from tomorrow never dies)
2. I don't believe there isn't any equipment able enough to separately separate music from sfx from dialogue, because i heard from one local radio station and played a song from whitney houston, successfully deleted the lyrics, then i wonder, why people still buy minus one or mpx or karaoke when they could just insert their original artist cd and use this player, now i'm wondering if it could also do titanic because there's a lot of cues from that film never released and i cant find isolated score neither, but there are some shares on youtube w/c from it i had heard the main title the one with vocals by sissel kyrkjebo, but the rest of the cues are terribly with sfx as expected, then i wonder how come they have the main title cleanly but can not for other cues when i think music in titanic did not really have a moment, there has to be sounds of water, people, etc ,only in the end credits can music will have its moment in film, that's why i'm wondering how they have the main title but not with the all the rest of the cues
3. Also i don't like the complete recordings of the fellowship of the ring, i am so into the original cut of the movie that it doesnt match, probably because it was for the extended version of the film
4. Lastly, the ultimate edition of the phantom menace ost was great but i was disappointed when it got to the ending part, doesnt match the film,it is still the ost version of augie's great municipal band

Ok, have to get this out of my system... been sitting here for a couple of days, trying to match track titles to the official release, the extra tracks from the 25th Anniversary Music Box and from previous rips of the isolated score. I need something different to listen to now :) Anyway, here it is. Another Burton/Elfman collaboration. The source is my BluRay disc with the isolated score and it is Dolby TrueHD.

Should anyone be able to match any other tracks to their correct titles, let me know. I will change it, but for the time being, i don't want to listen to another minute of this ;)

The region 1 DVD claims that it has an isolated score, but it's still riddled with Elfman's commentaries, speech and sfx...

I don't get why they do that.

Rush Hour 1 is like that. When there's no music or commentary, they'll play the audio from the film.

Although, for some isolated scores, I get why there's SFX in the score.
Someone on one of the commentaries said that sometimes a composer will do some of the SFX instead of the audio engineers. This is to ensure that a proper balance is maintained between the sfx, dialog and score.
I believe it was Lalo Schifrin that said that on the Rush Hour 1 isolated score/commentary.

Tomorrow Never Dies isolated score has a few sfx, but not too much. Only about 2-3 cues.

hey, I was perusing the net for any material on SPAWN by Graeme Revell, and came across a R1 dvd set containing THE CELL/SPAWN combo, both with iso scores and composer commentaries. I am aiming for SPAWN, cause the bootleg scares the crap out of me with its sound issues and i can't tell if it is clean of sfx.

Is this info true? Can you get your grubby paws on this, perhaps? This score is crying for a remaster of the high standards that your iso rips are appearing :)

Any link for that set?

Edit: I have found it at some different places, but not one of them states that BOTH have isolated scores. I know that The Cell does, but i would love to see a DVD/BluRay with an isolated score from Spawn as well :D

Could someone please PM me the isolated score (music & effects, whatever would describe the Twilight Time Blu Ray iso score track) for Enemy Mine? Thanks in advance!

Ok, i got this as an uncompressed wav-file. Size 1.16 GB. I've converted it to FLAC and packed it with RAR (3 parts) and managed to reduce the size to 388 MBs. Uploading is on it's way and i will post the links here when i'm done.
