So - you are being sent to a island for the next year. There is only food and water there, and the only thing you are allowed to take is an MP3 Player loaded with 5 albums ...
Which 5 albums do you choose to go on your MP3 Player?

Ron Goodwin - Where Eagles Dare
James Horner - Brainstorm
David Grusin - Three Days Of The Condor
Elmer Bernstein - The Scalphunters
Jerry Goldsmith - The Wild Rover

Thats interesting...but nothing can beat the shellacking critics put "The Last Airbender" through. Movie is making money though.

And see I still love it - I'm a Last Airbender whore...even if it didn't live up to the show It was amazing :)

I must be bored, answering to every post :P BUT i like movie reviews like yours: Now look what i've found in the net, hahaha:

D-War

"[...] Is this film awful? Absolutely. Incomprehensible? Sure. But I'll guarantee that if you choose not to take it as seriously as the producer did, everything in Dragon Wars will make perfect sense -- even if you have no idea what the hell is going on. A movie without a single redeeming quality that we highly recommend."

Anybody can post something like this too?

I agree. Watched in "Brain-Off" mode, D-War absolutely rocks. LOL.

That is the abbreviation that album cover designer Red Dragon aka plissken uses. He just makes album covers but does not provide downloads.

http://plissken.free.fr/

If you run a across "Gemini Designs" set of covers they were made by me. ;)...I don't have a blog showcasing my work just yet.

On another subject, I've just come up with a new format for my score/soundtrack lists which provide more information but will take a while to implement because of the immense size of my collection .

Title (Year of Release) - Composer(s)
[Release Type - Label - No. of Tracks/Discs - Duration - Bitrate - Format/Compression Type - File Size]

Dune (1997) - Toto
[Non-Commercial/Expanded Score - Polydor - 17/1 - 00:40:59 - 320 kbps - MP3/CBR - 99.2 MB]

Muuuule, Season 4 over 3 for Who??
Yeah - Season 3 CD is my least played of the three....just don't really like the way it was put together...it's, ya know, ok - and great that the music was even released in the first place - but season 4 wins out. There was a fan-made "expanded" season 3 CD that was actually better put-together. It was only actually expanded by one track, but some of the more annoying elements were also touched up...if I could take the fan-made one instead, then yes I would maybe take season 3...but my rule was it's got to be commercially available.

Well, anime/vg are more likely to use synth more than symph, so I dont know, maybe its prejudice against composition approaches??

Yes, and a very good one.

There was actually more of the book "Jurassic Park" in the film The Lost World than the Lost World book. Ok, I'm aware that sentence makes little sense. How about this then - There are some scenes from the Jurassic Park book that appear in The Lost World movie, but hardly any scenes from the Lost World book. There is also one big scene from the Jurassic Park book in the movie Jurassic Park III (the aviary).

3rd movie was okay, at least Dr Grant was back :)

I much rather enjoyed the booked to the first movie as much as I enjoyed the first movie :)

The book had some scenes in there that would fit the movie, but didnt make it.
The kids playing with the speakers and dino-sounds, only to scare Hammond half-to-death was funny!

But I think they should've elaborated on the flying birds at the end a little more, like Grant making a comment on them and how he'll never know how the dinos will survive during the migrating season...
That was a neat little thing to read in the book...but confusing in the movie....

well, technically, it IS legal to go topless in many places, including NYC. And, I thought Europeans were more progressive on this. Also, the various nudist clubs and beaches, where nudity quickly becomes a non issue. Yes, i know from experience. Also, San Diego, San Fran, and Seattle, all have nude events, like the bare to the breakers, where people do a nude marathon right through the city, and The Nude World Bike Ride--the same only on, you know, bikes....so, I amjust aying...
It's legal to go nude in the UK - there are just too many NIMBY's that go ape-shit over it (how DARE we reveal out bits in public! harumph! harumph!! This is after all the country that still has a problem with breast-feeding in public) and get Police and Courts involved who should be left to deal with - well - criminals. I'm a big fan of nude and rarely wear anything at home if I can get away with it. I should be comfortable going into my back garden nude but it isn't going to happen - my neighbours - ahem - ain't the type...they believe in covering every inch of the body up, not enjoying the air.

Perhaps, if guys did not make such a big deal about it, and just chilled, more women would feel safer and comfy with it...

bleh, just got in shit from an admin at another forum.
they are very strict with their rules over there.

long story short, i read the rules then called someone out on them.
then one of the admins tells me that it wasnt against the rules...
though i feel it was.... :/

that thing with the rules is tricky, really, you always have to decide a new when to bend them or maybe not, what's best at that moment....

Surprise, surprise! I like going there. I went there a couple of years ago to get 4 of my back teeth taken care of.
2 were growing in sideways in my upper jaw, and the other 2 were just compacting my lower jaw (for some reason, my lower jaw is smaller than normal, not by freakishly much, but still smaller).

It was fun. One had rotted inside so bad, they had to chisel and hack it apart into 6-7 peices. I went with the needles; the gas hurts my chest. I normally don't go with anything, the needles are too wierd and irritating, and the gas, well, hurts my chest. That one tooth was so bad, i was in there for over 45 minutes. They wanted to use a hammer and 9" nail to whack it out...and if they had the tools, I would've let them try it. :D

I had one tooth pulled (from lower jaw) with no gas or needles long time ago. I asked for it and they had to obey. They were shocked and tried to change my mind. It was a wierd and interesting feeling. Almost felt like nothing, really. More like flossing with uber-sized floss.

I actually like going to the dentist. keeps me healthy and aware of anything (no cavities means more candy from the drawer :D)

G'luck at the dentist!

Sigh, they're just breasts..and nipples....round beautiful..wait, never mind that. What's the big anyway, we all have them? Geeze.

In one of the many, many stand-up comedy shows on my collection, i can't remember wich comediant was but he synthesised the whole breast affair quite well. He said "The reason why women can't understand mens fascination with breasts is 'cause they have them. They're just there. If they want to look at them, they just have to look down... Hello, there you are. It's a matter of access." But some people do go over the top. I mean, i like breasts... a lot. But i don't drool all over when i see a pair. And i am a firm believer than in this case bigger is not always better. :-)

I feel oddly soothed by tha fact in the 5 album lists, many, if not most, have at least one James Horner album....:) And since we all chose different horners, we will have lots to trade on that beach. ANd hammocks, quiet, and peace...ahhh...and more than a littl nudity..heehee

On, no, no one wants to see my naked body. Believe, i've seen it. Thats why i avoid mirrors now. 2 weeks on anti-depressives was enough. LOL.

well, technically, it IS legal to go topless in many places, including NYC. And, I thought Europeans were more progressive on this. Also, the various nudist clubs and beaches, where nudity quickly becomes a non issue. Yes, i know from experience. Also, San Diego, San Fran, and Seattle, all have nude events, like the bare to the breakers, where people do a nude marathon right through the city, and The Nude World Bike Ride--the same only on, you know, bikes....so, I amjust aying...

and how do U know all of this? I thought I was the expert. I have much to learn.

But on a serious note (rare thing), i have the utmost respect for the practice of nudism and those who, like you and your husband, practice it. I meant no disrespect to you, i'm just a clown that can't seem to lose an opportunity to make a joke. I have got to stop doing that... though if it hasn't happened in the last 35 years, i doubt it will happen any time soon. So i better just apologise in advance for the next time i make an ass of myself wich, i'm guessing, will be pretty soon.

Don't underestimate him - children are extremly perceptive - , he can 'smell' your pride behind the 'this is not ok' and might draw the wrong conclusions concerning his interactions with girls. As to what is ok (and will make his father proud)

really sorry. it is a difficult situation when one person feels there is a problem more than the other.
In that topic (being "together") lots of couples have problems, specially after having given birth. Ok, a woman's chemistry can change during the process, still, even if she is fine the way it is now, she should still care about the fact that you are NOT and should be willing to try to find a solution or at least accept that it is a problem for you.

well I got them listed allright, but not all of them are named with quality in the end.

I usually name my soundtracks: (movie)title-composer-year-number of tracks-quality

like:

but several are without quality, just name of the movie and composer.

I think there is no instrument in an orchestra that can project the somberness of a scene than the piano. Take War film themes for instance. In the early days War themes were all horns & snare drums (see The Longest Day, A Bridge to Far, Patton). They were used to express patriotism & victory. Now (see Pearl Harbor, Flags of Our Fathers, Letters from Iwo Jima) the piano expresses loss in life, in love & remembrance.

I am making a concerted effort to listen to one or two albums a day that i have never heard. Been at it for weeks, I'm all the way up to AVP..:b

I try one or two albums a week.....

I discovered 'winter guest' that way :D

well I got them listed allright, but not all of them are named with quality in the end.

I usually name my soundtracks: (movie)title-composer-year-number of tracks-quality

like:

A Cloud On The Slope - Joe Hisaishi & VA(2009)13@vbr

but several are without quality, just name of the movie and composer.
Like suzie wong *sigh*

I don't even know if I want to hear it, but: 56 kbps?? Hey!
I was investigating if I could post this *lol*

I just read your signature. thats like in "Monty Python & the Holy Grail" when Eric Idle wants to become a woman so he can have babies but he cant because he doesnt have a womb. Michael Palin then says that even though he cant have babies that they will fight for his RIGHT to have babies. prompting John Cleese to say...

Cleese: Whats the point of us having to fight for his right to have babies when he cant actually have babies???
Palin: Its a symbol of our struggle against oppression!!!
Cleese: Its a symbol of his struggle against reality!!! :)

Ok, an experiment...

The Enterprise E...

Niiiiiiice. What model is it and what scale? The only ST model i currently have on display is Bandai's Enterprise 1701-A in 1/850 scale. It was prepainted and mostly snap fit but it looks very good, especially with the lights on. It's not as big as other renditions out there but with my limited skills in terms of painting, Bandai's models are the only way i have to make a presentable piece.
I have Macross Frontier's Skull Squadron on stand by for over a year, only built the VF-25F. Despite being a snap-fit model, it is one of the most complex pieces of model engineering i've ever seen. Fortunately, since parts are mostly molded in the color they're suposed to have, all you need are a few touch-ups here and there to make it look awesome. Gotta build the rest, especially the VF-25S Armored.
Oh, boy, there i go. When i start talking about things i'm passionate about i tend to rant a bit.

Anyway, the E looks very good. More pics, please??? :-)

I like the kinglons! nice work!

also, if anyone remembers The Flight of Dragons back in '82, there's no official release of the score to this date.

The only thing you'll ever find, is a remix by a youngin', Jesse Stipek, who asked Maury Law for the score sheets personally, and was given them! :O
The remix consists of the original score with a few added elements. Very nice!
Worth a watch and a favorite!
Jesse is also a part of Tricofilms, a group of 3 young filmmakers who are currently working on a major project with the help of Anthony Hopkins, more information on their channel.

It is an excellent kit..near perfect fit, I don't think I needed any real sanding/filling. I used a lot of pics of the actual model from various traveling exhibits, so it should look fairly close. It was a gift from my dad, like a 300 dollar kit.....insane. Nice, but totally insane...

Yeah, that's the only reason i didn't buy it from HLJ, the hefty price tag. But Fine Molds is releasing a smaller scale version at about 50 dollars. Very tempting. I have the fat sided AMT model. Despite the much better and accurate detail in the Fine Molds model, the AMT is not a bad kit but those side panels kill the look. Any way, it's a beautiful piece of art you've got there.

Isham has some really nice music. I love "No Such Thing As Monsters" from Crash (2005?), the Sandra Bullock, Matt Dillon movie.

He's got some nice horror music too, The Crazies, The Myst.
I love the few plucks of strings in "Won't anyone see a lady home" and there's another track on there too that has the strings plucked and echoes. It's so subtle and slight, even in lossless, it's hard to pick up sometimes.
