How do you avoid your house?

I've been hanging out at my friend Kris' house, which has central air in every room (except the bathroom). He has a pool too, pretty good stuff! I've been freckling up like crazy though. :(

I took some shots of Dr. Mid-Nite, but the lighting in my apartment is awful and they look really bad. I can still post them if someone wants to see them though, I guess. I'm going to try and do some outdoor shots of the JSA crew ONE day soon when it isn't so unbearable out and I'll post those for sure.

The Dr. Mid-Nite figure is pretty nice. His cape is great, and I think it's even nicer than Peej's. He tends to look a little bit hunchbacked if you don't pose him carefully though, and it's a little tricky getting Hootie to stay on his arm. Overall, I'm happy with him, though.

That would have been sooo awesome the way it book ended with the binary sunset scene. And the thing is, I don't see how that wouldn't have been toy friendly, it's not like there's been a bunch of post return of the Jedi toys made since then.

There are figures from other Rider series too, if you'd like to see them. Shinkenger figures are the only Super Sentai ones though! So cool that they're the first sentai series to get figuarts.

Yes, I've had really good experiences with them. I used to use HLJ more for getting toys from Japan, but AmiAmi's sale prices are so nice! And with the crappy exchange rate, saving the extra money is really appreciated. I guess HLJ is going to start doing more sales too, though? There was something about it on their site recently. They were talking about how the exchange rate right now sucks for them too because they do less business so they're trying to make it easier on people.

There's New Den-O stuff too, but I haven't seen the weapons he has before? I haven't seen all the Den-O movies, though, so they're probably from that! Pretty clear that they're Urataros and Kinataros linked some how?

I found the RDJ Headed 6inch Ironman. There were 4 of him along with the 8 suitcase ones. He seems OK. The plastic is white boy skin color so and he has no eyes so the only paint is on his hair. Comes with fists repusler rays, and accessory hands plus that arm cannon.

I'm waiting because I recently found out at along with a Santa Jack Skelington & Ray Harryhausen Skeleton Revoltech is also making an Ironman. Their Batman was ass but considering Ironman is more of a robot I figure he'll be like their new Eva units which look terrific.

Tried to do a photoset with these two but stuff wasn't really turning out. Hate the lighting in this apartment. ; ; Tempted to try and set them up in the bathroom.

The problem is that even when it's sunny out, my apartment is just really dark. ; ; So I always have to use flash and it's just a matter of trying to get the background lighting to not make everything super washed out. I could pose stuff in the light, then turn it off and take pictures and see how that works, or try to take them outside during the day.

Is there that much we have that could be adapted in that way? I'm trying to think of shows original to us that rely heavily on suit actors and coming up blank. They do re-dub a lot of American cartoons and tv shows. Japanese Scar is insanely badass. My Japanese knowledge isn't high enough to know if they mess with the characters and story like we do. They add in honorifics and things like that, of course.

I guess the only sensible thing you can do is through trial and error find the best light set up and which camera settings that make the most of it. If you want to do lots of these types of photos you might want to buy some desk lamps and get daylight bulbs if you don't have any lamps like that available. Ones with a wide shade that cast over a big area are better then the more compact shades which tend to concentrate everything on one small 6 inch area.

If you can't or don't want to go that much into it trying to cover the subject with a piece of paper so the direct light isn't so strong might work.

I've never actually bought from ebay. It's a place I never look. My friend had some bad experiences with sellers and his misfortune made me hesitant to dive in. :)

If you're willing to pay the prices, you can usually get what you want from eBay. With Toku it's best to buy things right as they come out, because the older they get the pricier they become :(

Memories come primarily in 3 forms:

Deluxe--Lights, awesome sound quality
Gashapon--No lights, but great sound quality
Candy Toy--No lights, sound quality isn't horrible.

Deluxe gold-tipped (normal) Joker comes with the Double Driver. The price is CLIMBING RAPIDLY. Though, it does come with deluxe Cyclone, Heat, and Luna.

T2 Joker Deluxe comes with the goods catalog for the series. The price on this ranges from $50 to (supposedly) $600. I've never seen it for that, but someone who is normally reliable said that.

T2 Joker Gashapon is your best bet if you can find it on its own. I've only seen it as such ONCE. I got mine with the complete Vol. 5 Gashapon set.

T2 is your best bet because candy toy Joker is NON-EXISTENT. I saw it ONCE with the candy toy cyclone in a lot with the Accel Driver. Strange...

There's a couple more specialty Jokers, but they are pretty rare and you'd need a middleman service and a lot of luck to find them.

Extended Details:
Deluxe Metal comes with the Metal Shaft. This thing is a shipping NIGHTMARE. There was one on da bay for $100 for a good while. It's gone now. You can still find it in that range using a middleman service and yahoo auctions.

Deluxe Trigger comes with the Trigger Magnum. I think there's one on da bay for $200 right now.

That's all I'm going to mention now because the rest are bigger spoilers. Yeah, this spoiler was a lot bigger before I realized I was saying way too much XD

The lesser memory sets are still on ebay in abundance. Sometimes you'll find loose memories. For the stuff in the spoiler, it's better to just buy candy toy versions because they are SUPER CHEAP, comparatively.

I had a quick look on ebay and when I click on something (I'd be happy with a Gashapon) it links me to a USA seller. The postage in some instances is more than the item. :(

That's because eBay recently introduced some international shipping rule- packages above a certain size sent overseas from the US has to be shipped with tracking, no exceptions. Yes those are special silver blades. Also Pre Vizsla's sword is a "darksaber". Lucas didn't let the show's writers use vibroblades that can block lightsabers so now everyone can use them proficiently with little trouble.

I've been keeping all my toy packaging since probably 2002 or so. Today, in the trash it goes.

I always throw away packaging. Well, I did. I could never throw out my Japanese packaging. I even have the pull tabs from my memories in the boxes, with the wrappers for the candy.

It'll cost you. The body is an original Blacktron which I only have 2 of, the head is an older skeleton head I only have 3 so I ended up using one of the new ones having red glowing evil eyes for the last Calavera, the bandanna was avalable in the wild west sets but I got that with an original rock raiders 5 guy box, and the hat is a black Indiana Jones fadora that was used for Lou Che. The hat and bandanna might be available in some newer sets and in white and I think the old skeleton has been used in a few of the underwater exploration sets as a set piece but I was just lucky to be able to assemble him with what I had at hand.

Does anyone here have any experience with Re-ment stuff? Heard it was Figuarts sized. ^^

Guess I'm gettin' me a Hawkgirl! Is that Shiera? Could do a cartoon accurate league collection to go with my founders one. I could re-use Bats and Supes and maybe pretend that my Barry is a Wally, but I'd have to buy another Green Lantern, I only have Hal. Haven't seen the new J'onn that's out yet but I was planning on getting him anyways.

I have this feeling that Xtreme is going to be the only final form figuarts I get, though maybe a series someday will persuade me otherwise. I just usually don't get the same level of emotional attachment to final forms the way I do for earlier ones. Definitely curious to see if Hyper Form Gatack gets a figure though! No weirder than Cyclone/Accel Xtreme getting one.

As you know, I do like King ;) Super Climax Form I'd want IN ADDITION to Sword Form.

Cool. There was little teasers of it in the series. I hoped it would appear in one of the films. :)

It could be in the upcoming movie, for all I know! I haven't been looking at too many spoilers, just toy pics. This figure was shown with a lot of other upcoming products, a few of them have February release dates now. Actually, I think the new Den-O figure has a release date too, but I'm not after him so I don't know it offhand!

I don't see that happening after Accel's little speech in episode 44 (iirc).

Note the yellow side (which is present in Xtreme for whatever reason) and the PURPLE side. The Xtreme memory is Cyclone/Joker. Probably their way of telling us that Cyclone/Accel won't and CANNOT happen.

Further note that the only thing Accel about it are the lights behind the eyes. The shoulderpad, armlet, and anklet are just Joker parts painted red.

Nasca is a Tamashii Web exclusive. Exclusives cost out the ass. You need to have a Japanese mailing address to get them, iirc. So you're adding inconvenience and therefore even more money to the total.

Sometimes they're worth it (Nasca, Skull, Joker, Seig), sometimes they are not (Rising Ultimate Kuuga). Two versions (both exclusives from different retailers) instead of just including a second head/face like they did with regular Ultimate.

Rising Ultimate is such a strange concept.

That explains it. Figured toybiz marvel & LotR was almost as good as higher end stuff and star wars guys can get fairly high quality when they want to so these were the general released stuff.

They're collectors items, but exchange rate + shipping is also a killer. Most of them (including exclusives like Nasca) drop at about $30 in Japan. Both of the Figuarts I have were on sale when I bought them, so they actually would've been in the $20's price wise if the exchange rate was better right now. :( But it's the rarity of the exclusives that drives the prices up so high. Nasca would cost me more than I paid for Xtreme and Faiz combined, and he's way cheaper than Skull, right now.

This is the case at my Target! When I was last there they didn't have anyone I wanted/didn't already have. Blue and Gold were both on the shelve, I rearranged it so they were out front and together!

Target's problem is they have very little space for things. Mine only has 3 pegs for DC yet the prince of Persia and the finias and furb stuff have about 2 feet each and haven't moved anything. So if they put out 2 cases and sell most of them but still have 3 Capt. Colds and 2 other guys they consider the subject stocked properly.

For Doc, Cyclone/Accel Xtreme got a release date! He's a Tamashii Web Exclusive and is due out February 2010. His price is 3150 Yen but the exclusivity markup on him is going to be bad, Big Bad Toy Store put him up for pre-orders and they're asking $89.99. :( There should be lots of awesome pictures of him once February rolls around, though!

Also: there is no W girl because they know the Kamen Singers are superior.
