For Billionuploads the best course of action is just to use DownThemAll! for Mozilla Firefox.

You just need to:

1.) Have Firefox, use it and get the add-on.

2.) Go to the desired download link at Billionuploads.

3.) Once you click the link, choose the DownThemAll! option on the download window.

I've been using it for awhile and the downloads themselves always concluded.

Another thing that never fails.

Start the download and don't browse on your browser of choice until the download concludes, if you do that, the download will stop halfway.

I don't know what it is but in the recent months it doesn't work anymore. It's always failed network error.

I put up a MEGA mirror of NSMBU. I never have these issues with billionuploads unless the site is down which is why I asked for new site suggestions.

Any luck on there being a full Pikmin 3 rip soon? Thank you so much for the Tropical Freeze and NSMB Collection Rips!

I don't plan to do Pikmin 3.

Mediafire would work way better for you and us. Your method is extremely flawed with very poor connection. I'm tempted to just download your things and then put them all up on mediafire or dropbox.

Name me a site with the benefits of Billionuploads and MEGA (fast to decent speeds with no filesize limitation and a hefty storage space) and i'll upload there. Mediafire is out of the question and Dropbox is far too limited with a free account.

Was about to drop in and profusely thank you for the DKC:TF and MK8 uploads. Unfortunately, after extracting the files (mp3, both from the mega mirrors), all of the files played like they were mildly corrupted - audio hitching, spiking, sounding digitized. Alas, I'm left sad now. After checking the last few pages of the thread, it seems like it's just me.

TheSkeletonMan939
10-29-2014, 08:51 PM
Lots of people have that problem. Are you using iTunes to play the files? I'd suggest converting the MP3 files, making sure that the output is 41.1 kHz (many of the gamerip files are 32 kHz, because that's the source sample rate).

lariusj
10-29-2014, 09:46 PM
I am using iTunes, yes, but even using other means to preview and play the tracks, they're still sounding corrupted. I've tested other 32 kHz sampled songs and they're fine - even the mediafire link posted a few pages ago was at 32 kHz and that plays just fine. It just seems to be the two albums I've downloaded from this source.

Just a small update. I opted to download the flac and convert them to mp3. I realize some consider this blasphemous but running on a laptop without much external storage prohibits massive file sizes. I run iTunes - again, sorry if it offends some, but it's just what I choose to use. After converting the files, the sound great, even running at a 32 kHz sample rate. No audio artifacting, chirping or digitizing. So I don't know if something is up with the mp3 files of the albums or if my computer just screwed up the files upon unpacking them. This may just go down as motherboard mystery Halloween adjacent. Spooky!

I've also been having an issue with download speeds.

For the last couple of downloads from Mega, they've been at best, downloading above 100 kB/s, and sometimes as low as 30 kB/s. To put it in perspective, my download speed is about 6.2 MB/s.

For billionuploads, it's worse.... MUCH MUCH worse. Infact, it's literally not moving.

0 B/s - 0B of 86.0 MB. Literally... 0 bytes.... per second. Any slower, and the universe would explode.

But then, when I cancelled and retried it.... it's downloading. Still much much slower than it should. (I even checked my download speed, and it's still about 50 Mbps, or 6.2 MB/s as it should be).

EDIT: There are yet more errors in your DKCL collection.

Wario Land 4 for example. Have you actually heard Toy Box Tower, or Crescent Moon Village? Using the MIDI+DLS method is bad. Toy Box Tower has special pitch-bend effects that aren't executed on the MIDIs, and Crescent Moon Village oddly omits certain notes from the melody.

Also, what's with the really long (30+ seconds) of silence after the Ending theme from Wario Land 3?

Guys, let's get one thing very straight.

STOP USING ITUNES TO PLAY THE MUSIC

Honestly iTunes is not even a good player in the first place, its way too slow and it has glitches that make !!!!!'s music sound messy.
You'd be better using alternatives like:

On a Apple Device the music sounds fine and dandy.

But on iTunes itself, straight from the PC and from its audio speakers/output, it sounds atrocious.

So the lesson here is: Just use iTunes to syncronize !!!!!'s Music into your Apple devices if you have any and DON'T listen to any of it from the program itself if you value your ears.

I have to say that this complaining about music being glitchy on itunes is just utterly stupid. not to offend anyone too, but... really?
You are complaining because the music plays bad on itunes ? use something else. !!!!! has no reason at all to say his rips are not compatible on itunes at all. He does not know that you are using something like that to play music. And yes, I stand for 3DMan point of view. iTunes player is horrible. Plus Itunes is not compatible to encodes which are not "Apple Shiny"... So pretty much other encodings like flac or mp3 will give problems playing in it for sure. Because iTunes was made to play specifically his own codecs, m4a and such.

I'm sick and tired of no one helping me with my problem and I'm being left out on excellent soundtrack rips. Either people tell me to use alternative music players or suggest ways that make me download problems that might give me viruses.

Always to WAV before I edit any audio. I don't really mess with music from current games already mixed and mastered all that besides normalizing the volume to its peak if necessary. Only with music like chiptune or sequenced music that I really get into serious editing such as editing the channels separately (chiptunes) and I've only just done that within the past year.

With WAVs you'll see the max bitrate possible with PCM of that bit depth and sample rate (1411kbps) of the audio because its uncompressed PCM. With FLAC you'll see the real bitrate of the actual audio with FLAC which is usually less then the max, lower bitrates on softer sounding music, higher bitrates on loud, heavy compressed electronic music for example. They are both lossless formats.

Also Happy Post-Halloween 3DMan!

Any extra music for that game would have to be dumped by someone and tools to dump Wii U music aren't publicly available yet.

If you have OST's "SUPER MARIO 64"

and "STREETS OF RAGE 2" in sound

nexus please upload it, ok? Thanks.

I don't have those OSTs. Subscribe to Vegeta's (http://forums.ffshrine.org/members/vegeta-324417) MEGA page, I think he has both in FLAC though.

Can I just get a straight answer to this question please?

Why do you use an overly-unnecessarily complicated file host instead of just mega or mediafire like.... 99% of everyone else?

Also.... this is no exaggeration, it is currently impossible to download any thing at all that you have uploaded, !!!!!. The reason is this: Couldn't connect to database!

This is on the ncrypt.in part.

ncrypt was down at the moment, its a small price to pay for more secure links.

It's working now.... it's probably just the ncrypt.in thing being stupid.

Also, just pointing out that there are differences between the Donkey Kong Country GBC tunes borrowed from Donkey Kong Land, and their original Donkey Kong Land versions. "Aquatic Ambience" is noticeably different. I think there may be slight differences in all of them. Also, regarding the SNES versions... just my opinion, but why did you remove the echo effect? For those who don't know what I mean, listen to Cave Dweller Concert from !!!!!'s collection, and then listen to this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TgAQjNcc0o

Yeah I took off the original reverb and added new reverb, I was conflicted whether to have a deeper reverb on that one track but decided against it at the time for consistency sake I guess.

EDIT: There are yet more errors in your DKCL collection.

For Enchanted Riverbank GBA, you have mixed both the underwater and land versions. The "land" version sounds like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hutc0aVZn30

It's from the GSF but fair enough the song is just drums.

If one MEGA account gets full just open another one using a different email address. No need to pay anything, you can have unlimited amount of accounts that way. That's what I do, I have 3 mega accounts.

I've thought of that but I didnt want the possiblity to jeopardize my original account but I guess i'm gonna try it if Billionuploads is acting that badly.

Guys, let's get one thing very straight.

STOP USING ITUNES TO PLAY THE MUSIC

Honestly iTunes is not even a good player in the first place, its way too slow and it has glitches that make !!!!!'s music sound messy.
You'd be better using alternatives like:

-Windows Media Player

-VLC Media Player

-Winamp

-Any Portable Audio Device (Ipod; Ipad; Samsung Devices)

Hope that this clears up this pestering issue.

You can throw foobar2000 in there too.

You do know that to get music on any apple device you have sync it using... iTunes.

Not necessarily...

while trying to find an alternate download for, among other broken downloads, the Pachislot Goemon albums, I found the flac versions in a baidu share (no, I don't speak chinese, but they kept the filenames)

PGG F.rar_??????|??? ??-????? (http://pan.baidu.com/s/1o6puRW2)
PGG 2 F.rar_??????|??? ??-????? (http://pan.baidu.com/s/1jGjxzEm)

probably a good idea to rehost them somewhere else, but I can't be bothered right now.

!!!!!, in your MK8 soundtrack, your Cloudtop Cruise track needs a minor correction. The orchestral and rock versions of the music are never heard simultaneously in-game; the rock version completely replaces the orchestral version during the thundercloud segment. Your version has them playing together.

On the subject of BillionUploads failing all the time, I can report that using Firefox, the downloads fail very frequently BUT I can RESUME the failed download and it will pick up from however far it got before failing, rather than starting over every time. It's very weird. Eventually, I get a full download, but it requires constant babysitting, failing nine or ten times per download and needing a manual restart from me each time.

IIRC, I think those and some other tracks, like the music that plays when you finish a race or win a cup, are still beyond the reach of current 3DS music extraction abilities. Sequenced instead of streamed I think?

This may be a lost cause, but is there any chance you, !!!!!, (or anybody, really) could make a full, complete, high quality rip of Crash Tag Team Racing's soundtrack. I've searched all over but because it's not very popular, the only music collections I've found are either incomplete or the quality is not great (e.g. the theme park music having the game SFX in it and being quite mono sounding...well to be honest I don't mind the park SFX much, but I just can't stand it sounding mono). Well, I've found something...somewhat. I was directed to kneubuhlmann's web page (or some sort of archive of his...???), specifically an index of crash twinsanity music. I went to the parent directory and found Tomb Town's music, however nothing else Crash Tag Team Racing related. I was quite disappointed because the Tomb Town music was high quality, with stereo sound, but nothing else unfortunately was there. However it makes me wonder...there was an index with all of crash twinsanity's music...maybe there's the same for Crash Tag Team Racing but I just couldn't/haven't found it. I really don't know but it got me anxious. There's probably 3 other people in the world who have gone this far to find CTTR's music but is anyone else able to help me?

You're right, I'm gonna have to fix that.

For the DKC/DKL GB tracks:

Ice Cave Chant has a single loop of about 3 minutes and 15 seconds. Therefore, to be technical, two loops would be around 6.5 minutes. It is really that long. This is because it plays for about 1.5 minutes, and then another 1.5 minutes without the melody, which technically counts as one loop.

This is EXACTLY the same with Treetop Rock, where it plays for just over a minute, and then repeats without the melody, making a ~2 minute loop. 2 loops therefore, is over 4 minutes.

As for Bad Boss Boogie? It should be around 2.5 minutes roughly for a 2 loops from my experience.

Of course for "Life in the Mines", if you want to be technical, the loop starts around 50 seconds to 1 minute in, and ends at around 3 minutes and 25 seconds. The loop consists of the first half, then the second half, and then the first half but with the noise channel still active, which remains. This would however, mean that technically two "loops" of the song would run for almost 6 minutes, but obviously, including the first half without the noise channel, the length should be around 5 minutes (I think 4 minutes and 50 seconds or something).

For those of you still having the iTunes issue where some of !!!!!'s rips would sound weird, I actually found a way to fix the the audio using foobar2000. Heres what i did (I used the Special Course track from !!!!!'s Yoshi's New Island rip):
Step 1: Right-click the song and go to utilities, you should see something called: Repuild MP3 Stream. Click that.

Step 2: A box will appear telling you if you want to rebuild the stream, click yes (Don't worry, that wont make the audio worse).

Step 3: Convert the file to MP3.

Step 4: Save your MP3 to your music folder, if you have one.

Step 5: Just drag and drop the converted MP3 to the same folder your original MP3 is located and it should ask you if you want to replace the old MP3.

Step 6: Open the MP3 you replaced in iTunes.

NOTE: If you don't see: Rebuild MP3 Stream, you might need to update Foobar.

NOTE: I recommend sorting your music in separate folders.

So !!!!!, what's the current status of your DKC Re-Arranged Album?

(P.S: Fun Fact - Yesterday, November 21st was the 20th anniversary of the DKC Series. Quite the milestone don't you agree?)

It's all over the place. Unfortunately I don't have a checklist of every track and work on one, one by one to know how far it is. I work on all of them and constantly switch through tracks whenever I work on them. I drop another demo soon.

Unfortunately, DK64 was the last DK game I'm interested in so that milestone ended a long time ago for me.

Why would you try to play it on iTunes exactly, it sounds fine on iPhones/Frapples/iPapayas or whatever the heck you apple fans use.

Just sync it and don't play it on iTunes, it SHOULD sound fine.

Unless you're trying to play it exclusively on iTunes then just use Foobar, Media Player Classic, Daum, Winamp or some other player.

Sonic Advance 1, 2, 3 and Battle are up. I also included Sonic Pinball Party for you. They are available here: https://mega.co.nz/#F!5tVwXYrC!SE_ygpxK6A40Ge65H1NWug

The songs are exactly the way they are found on Zophar's domain, so I believe they each loop once. They are all named and numbered, and will each be in separate folders. If you want mp3 versions of them you can just convert the FLACs :D

Also, if you want album art, just take any picture (preferably .jpg format), place it in whichever folder you want and rename it to "folder.jpg"

I agree, why does it sound muffled? It sounds more muddied than the originals which had this sharp brisk crisp tone- some of the samples DO sound higher so you have that going.

Not a fan of it to be honest, what did you do to it?

No, .minigsf. If there's a better quality rip of it, please share. :)

Also, what? The remastered version sounds muffled? The Sonic Advance 3 soundtrack surely didn't.. In fact, I prefer a few tracks to the original, such as Altar Emerald (just before the final boss). It has more bass and better cymbals. But yeah, what was the point of the remaster, I wonder?

Just a warning.

MIDI+DLS GBA stuff may sound better quality, BUT... there are imperfections from MIDI events, such as pitch-bending, some instruments being missing (due to them not being assigned to a patch), etc.

Yeah, I noticed. But they certainly sound clearer than the minigsf files, which sound like there's a CRT tv with a snowy screen in the background in comparison haha
It makes up for the dissimilar-sounding instruments.

But, you have listened to, for example, Toy Block Tower from Wario Land 4, and Neo Green Hill Act 2 from Sonic Advance? They both have pitch-bending errors. Another really annoying thing about them, is that some of them have a very unnecessarily high vibrato.

What about Mario Kart 7's first place percussion music variations? Is that possible yet?

The Ultimate Koopa
12-15-2014, 04:41 PM
It's been possible for ages. It's just that people are stupid and don't do it properly. The drum beats are a sequenced file. There's a MIDI and soundfont available somewhere, but I can't remember where. But if anyone does have it, this is what you're supposed to do. You're supposed to copy the MIDI file for EACH first place version you wish to do, then change the tempo in any MIDI editing software.

What you're NOT supposed to do, is use Audacity to change the speed of the drumbeats. Because the drumbeats do NOT get higher in pitch the faster the actual tune.

This is an example of how it should be done: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHM80By5qQ4

Hmm.... "The Ultimate Loopa"? What do you think.

Do you actually have the frontrunning beats? And if you do, it HAS to be a MIDI file, with the accompanying soundfont. You should never use a WAV or MP3 of the frontrunning beats. This is because ONLY the tempo is altered not the pitch as well.

If you want to know the tempos of the course themes.... I did make a list somewhere, I but I didn't save it, but I believe Shy Guy Bazaar is about 110 bpm, or something. (It's the slowest one of them all -- Rock Rock Mountain/Alpine Pass is the fastest).

http://soneek.info/temp/sar/BNK_SYNC_BEAT.sf2 (soundfont)

The default tempo is 120 bpm. Also, it only plays the drum pattern once (i.e. only a few seconds are played). You'll need to know how to loop MIDIs.

Wii Maple Treeway = 148 bpm (Final Lap = 200 bpm)

Also, for no reason, I decided to find out the actual tempo of the final lap version of DS Tick Tock Clock in Mario Kart 8, as well as Mute City (both normal and final lap versions), as they are all somewhat fast:
DS Tick Tock Clock Final Lap in Mario Kart 8 is 220 bpm
Mute City is 200 bpm
Mute City Final Lap is 255 bpm

I'm pretty sure that the Final Lap version of Mute City in Mario Kart 8 is, simply put the fastest of any course theme in the entire history of Mario Kart, including final lap versions. Unless you know of a faster one than 255 bpm.

So from what I'm hearing now is that Wii-U extraction and gameripping is possible now. any chance we can see a Sonic Lost World and Sonic Boom OSV anytime soon?

Too bad 3DS isn't able to be done yet.

Sonic Lost World is more likely, but even if !!!!! doesn't do it I'm willing to do an OSV of it once the streams come out.
I maybe alone on this, but I really appreciated Lost World for its gameplay and music compared to most Sonic games and as such I would gladly organize a OSV of it, DLC included.

And even if you didn't like it, you oughta at least give the game credit for being polished and finished compared to the unfinished uninspired messes that were the Sonic Boom games. Hell, I can't even remember one darned music track from what I've seen of those disasters.

Those sound amazing, Guitarist500! It's great how they're all in sync too! I have one question to ask though. If TheUltimateKoopa would jump in to answering this one as well. Whats your program of choice to edit MIDIs? I've seen plenty out there but I would like to know what you both use to edit the MIDIs, like changing the tempo, especially for the first place beats.

Guitarist500`
12-22-2014, 07:22 AM
I use Guitar Pro 5 because of the extreme conveniences like, changing notes and tempos very quickly. I just change the soundfonts by using Coolsoft VirtualMIDISynth to test it on GP5 and then use the BASSMIDI plugin in Foobar to then convert MIDI to MP3 with the chosen soundfont.

Oh wow, sounds like a sophisticated process--
But then again this is coming from somebody who's just learning how to work MIDIs, which probably doesn't make me the best candidate to add first place beats to any track, yet. Once you've converted the first place beats, what program do you use to mix both the beats and the race track music together?

Why would you want a game rip of any of these games? they all have OSTs why not just download them instead?

but that doesn't have every single song in the game and most of them are only looped once

^This is why, OSVs are 100% complete soundtracks compared to OSTs that are only 80%-95% hell even less depending on the company. with lost world it did get about 90% of the tracks it needed but some are missing and I really want those DLC tracks too.

Can't believe Richard Jacques worked on that soundtrack...

But yeah if !!!!! doesn't do it or doesn't get back to me I'll hit you up, but I really do like his presentation and quality hes really 1 of the only people I turn to here now a days for good quality OSV work esp. with Sonic.

It appears that the MEGA uploads of the New Super Mario Bros. U OSV (both the mp3 and FLAC versions) are non-existent. Would you be able to re-upload them, please?

Actually upon further inspection, it seems that what are marked as not-MEGA-uploads do actually link to MEGA uploads. So I guess with NSMBU there's no way to download it through billion uploads (nothing to complain about here). Just a heads up for anyone else.

Wii U extraction is possible by an extremely few. One of who "crediar" is very generous to do so while the known others who began modding Mario Kart 8 declined on dumping any data for the public due to "legality" reasons. 3DS also since around June/July except 3DS games can be dumped, you need a hacked 3DS though.

3DS Archive: Index of 3DS (http://3sf.joshw.info/)

No dumps of Sonic Lost World on the Wii U but there are of music dumps Sonic Boom and Lost World on the 3DS both which are in atrocious quality. Sonic Boom being mono mp3s and Lost World being ADPCM at 16khz.

If the DLC music gets dumped from the game I can compile an OSV. It'll probably be short and only have the tracks missing from the OST unless the overall music quality is higher which is doubtful.

Does it involve editing all the way to the sample level?

I think so. I don't alter any of the audio in anyway unless to put them together to sync in the first place. I just change the MIDI tempo for the beat and then convert it for use.

Hey guys!

Is it just me or is there a problem with the FLAC mega link for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - Expanded Video Game Soundtrack [Wii ADPCM, Sequence recording by slippytoad]? Everytime I access it I get the following message: "Temporary error, retrying". I don't get this message from other links..

Does anyone have an alternate link for this score?

The first 3DS rips were available way back in May, actually (or earlier).

Also, I forgot to mention one more thing about the first place beats, which probably many people don't realise.

They don't always play from the beginning. For example, Rock Rock Mountain's first place beats don't play until AFTER the intro, (i.e. about 6 seconds in).

Do not use itunes, if it's 32kHz then upsample it.

Try a different player.

The streams for the game haven't been ripped yet, so you'll have to wait.

But speaking of Wario, I've noticed that Virtual Boy Wario Land is not included in the Wario Land Collection. Maybe in the future?

Basically, they didn't bother with 32kHz since no albums are that low sample wise in iTunes- natively.

What you wanna do is either upscale the tracks with audacity or use some other program to batch convert them to 44kHz.

When I opened the MIDI in GP5 and enable the soundfont associated with the beats, did you have a problem where the beats would be missing the bass? What I mean is right before I import it, I could play it back in the import menu and it would sound like it normally would. However, after importing, the beats sound different when played back. It appears that its missing a lot of the drum bass and the cymbals are far more prominent than they should be. Were you able to fix this? If so, can you explain how?

Last time I checked there was a lot of Pokemon music there. Please note, that this collection only features music made specifically for Smash games, so it lefts out a lot of music that is taken straight from the source games. That's why it looks like a lot of stuff is missing. If you don't see ANY Pokemon tracks, then you should re-download the files.

Say, !!!!! I never usually do requests, typically the reason being that I don't want to strain you while sitting back and munching on popcorn having you do the grueling work in my stead, I know how tedious the task of tagging and organizing can be.

This time's an exception though, since nobody has worked on these games yet- at least not to a fully satisfactory extent.
Would you be interested enough to create your own rendition of "Lollipop Chainsaw" or "Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2"? I'd do it myself but lack the common knowledge of making it complete and accurate since I've never played said games.
