it's not a really long game. had it fully beat in about 13-15 hours on my ps3. it's great that it's almost done though.

Maybe you can help me go through some of these tracks. I know i'm missing pretty much all of the mini-games. I don't know if there are any other secrets like extra levels with new music after the main game. And if you unlock any multiplayer stages that may have new music as well.

I can't really get much further ripping the game music when I don't know when certain songs play without either seeing it or playing the game myself which i tried and failed. Can I send you the remaining songs if you may know where they play or not?

But when I tested all the sound tracks within it with aucdtect, which is one of the accurate program to detect whether the audio is truly lossless or not. However, most of the sound tracks are MPEG with probability 100%. I am just wondering if this FLAC lossless album was directly downloaded from bittorent, converted from MP3 or it was ripped from original CD. Most of the other albums are 99% to 100% of CDDA except this one. As I know we cannot really hear any difference but I would prefer to have all the FLAC albums for collection instead of MP3.

I definitely understand where you're coming from. In this case unfortunately, DKCR's OST is comprised of lossy masters.

This is a track from the DKCR OST, I got the log and cue with it too:



Notice in the spectrum analysis, the frequency rolls down around 11,000-12,000 hz. Most likely from poor mastering. I've seen this in other recent Nintendo OSTs like Mario Kart Wii OST so I don't think it's a coincidence.

For comparison's sake here's a guaranteed lossless master:



See the lack of an extreme cutoff? That means it's legit. :)

Though I should start labeling sources of my rips...

Did you try loading the direct ncrypt links into JDownloader. I never use the JD containers so I don't know how well ncrypt works with them.

I used SegaRetro (http://segaretro.org/) when looking up the composers involved in various games. With alot the songs not mentioned which composer did what, I guessed composers concerning the mixing, the music styles, etc,

[Super Late Reply] I personally think that you should reupload the soundtracks to some website that is safer, and known. Just so that this doesn't happen again. It made no sense that, after downloading and trying to click to extract the files, my computer "died". I don't think it was the files, I believe it's the website. That's my opinion.

And of course, I'd really love to get my hands on these soundtracks but from Billionuploads? This was actually the first time I had heard of it.

Wii U games aren't fully rippable yet. As For New Super Mario Bros. 2 and New Super Mario Bros. U, they're both taken from New Super Mario Bros. Wii, which he has, regardless of minor changes to some of the tracks.

And as for Super Mario 3D World, a suitable rip has been posted on the forums if you search for it. Nintendo has an official release which will be posted in the forums sometime in the future.

In regards to the DKCR OSV, I noticed that a certain track is missing. You know the drums that are played in the beginning of Crazy Cart and Rickety Rails, heard without overlaying music before entering the respective caves of those levels? I've only been able to locate that track once on the internet, and it was a bad quality video on youtube by harmfulifconsumed with skips throughout the video. I was hoping this would have it, but alas...

I understand that in the song Quiet Quarry/Jungle Mine/whatever its called, those drums are played over it in the second half, but I've always wanted the drums on their own. I hope this is making sense. Don't take this necessarily as a request, but as something to keep in mind.

I don't see myself ripping the Halo series music. I'm not fond of that series much though I like the main theme motif used in the first 3 games and Kazuma Jinnouchi's music on H4. Yeah, for some reason Billionuploads was messing up but they're up again on my end.

Wii needs to be fixed because every song has a weird sound that sounds like a scratch or something, those 4 songs from Newer are: UNderground, Underground (Hurry Up!), Airship, Airship (HUrry Up!) its the same deal as New Mario Wii. I don't know if they patched it. I'll look and if so, I'll add it in as well as the map songs without the drums. I didn't include any extra songs from their soundtrack release due to it not being in the game and would only be exclusive to an mp3 release.

Those scratch issues you mention must mean your sound card has an issue playing songs that are 32khz which those songs you mention were originally encoded in.

I re-ripped the SMB Collection due to some quality issues and re-uploaded it a few months back so I must have fixed it. Just listened to the SMB DX Staff Roll and it doesn't abruptly cut off but stops when the song ends.

It's actually harder and not worth it. The HD remakes use the same audio if not at worse quality then the PSP version. And ATM I don't have any plans for Peace Walker. If I ever do it, It'll probably be a Portable Ops/Peace Walker rip.

True, but DKC: TF has an option to completely eliminate sound effects mid-level, so you could do a line-in recording of the music. There's also an unlockable soundtrack in the game, but I'm not sure how complete it is (might not be considering what Returns did).

Its not the music, whatever player you are currently using is probably not compatible with 32khz audio files. Try the 44khz songs to see if those are also glitchy.

I so strongly, strongly, ever so strongly agree with this guy! billionuploads and user.net are just really annoying, with the former having viruses (I know, I caught one which was thankfully destroyed/avoided by an anti-virus program) and the later requiring credit details as if I'm purchasing something (it is a profit based site, which makes it just worse). Mediafire and mega are sooooooo good!

I want to say thanks again (if I already have...I've forgotten) about the DKCR soundtrack. It's just so awesome (my favourite before DKC: Tropical Freeze came out)...however there's still one track that I haven't been able to find anywhere in good quality!!! I've been wanting to get hold of these nostalgic soundtracks for a while now, I'm very pleased you have them!

Continuing on from my last post above, do you reckon you could also add in the loading music for the Donkey Kong Country Returns rip? The music that plays during the loading between stages? Please?

Also, it would be greatly appreciated if a lot of the tracks you combined into one song were separated.
For example, in Prehistoric Path, it plays the music heard while on the mine cart of the Cliff world, but at the end it plays the music heard after DK gets off the minecart and is right next to the Roulette Barrel. I would love to have that second track separated from the first, because I'd like to listen to them separately.
Another example would be the two parts of Damp Dungeon. The second half of Damp Dungeon in the rip has both the main track for the level Damp Dungeon and this weird laboaty-like track over it, however having those two tracks separated would be great!

I think the biggest problem is the fact that the ground zeroes game audio is a lossy OGG format, the next generation version might have lossless music but it will be years before people crack that (maybe) and we get our hands on the rips.

I have been able to get the music from the PSP and the PS3 version of MGS-PW (with other peoples programs, and it is just the bgm file, which does not hold every single audio track in the game and is specifically missing the music for outer ops after the drums are played, and I am able to rip more tracks from the PSP version, don't know if that is because the PS3 version does not have them or because the programs I'm using are not specifically made for that file and there for cant get all of it) and there is a difference in audio quality.
PSP Audio = lossy AT3, 44100Hz and cuts off at 15Khz in its spectrum.
PS3 Audio = lossy AT3, 48000Hz and cuts off at 16Khz in its spectrum.
So the PS3 audio is better if only by a very small margin.

Both the PS3 and the PSP version hold their music in the same type of files "PDT" which contains the AT3 music files and the rest of the sounds, so if someone is able to completely rip MGS-PW they should be able to easily rip the PS3 version as well......if only someone would completely rip the game. lol

Yes, but things can complicate the rips such as the PSP version having music in the game files that the PS3 version doesn't have (if so someone would need to do a complete rip of both), though I'm pretty sure that if someone actually went the full nine yards and ripped the whole thing they should get the same songs from both versions, so I might be talking out my butt here.

I think with PW-HD the only thing we need to worry about is the Monster Hunter extras, which I'm not sure is in that port. otherwise, I believe its more/less a 100% port of the PSP version.

Yeah the monster hunter stuff is in the port.... well at least I know it's in the PS3 version. I agree it should have everything unlike MGS2 and MGS3 it was a recent game so they didn't have to remove anything from it.

Scratch that, I figured out the problem. That will teach me to speed read this stuff. Sadly, while the Banjo-Kazooie soundtrack is available, the Banjo-Tooie folder, at least for the MP3 files, is not available. I'm about to try the FLAC folder. Also, a heart-felt thanks for posting the soundtracks, I absolutely love Rare Soundtracks. Grant Kirkhope is a legend!

Well some content from MGS2 and MGS3 was removed for the HD editions because of various reasons, and I'm assuming that because certain things where removed (like snake vs monkey) the music for that content would also not be in the game (like the snake vs monkey music), but it is possible that the music would still be in the game files.

I don't know about the music for MGS2 and MGS3 HD editions, as for music from the originals I have not been able to get a rip for MGS2 on the PlayStation because I believe it uses sequenced music just like MGS does, as for MGS3, MGS3 has lossless good quality music so the HD edition could not have better music quality.
MGS2 vs MGS2 HD = I don't know don't have the audio from either because (I believe) the audio is sequenced.
MGS3 vs MGS3 HD = The music from the original is lossless and of good to great quality, so I don't think MGS3 HD could get any better, I will try to take a look later and update this post if I do.
