I posted a review on Yelp for a restaurant called Batter Up Pancakes today. Tell me what you think.


Customer service was the worst. I walked out before having the chance to order my food.
When my will fails and I succumb to syrup-covered breakfast eatery, it's for French toast at another local restaurant, but I'm not here to promote any bias towards the competition, I'll do that in another 5-star review.
As for Batter Up Pancakes, I walk in, stand there and wait for my host. When greeted, he hands me a menu and advises me to sit anywhere I want in the back (ok, a little odd). I sit down, with my menu, and begin to look over my options. Like 100% OF EVERY SINGLE NON-FAST FOOD, SIT DOEN RESTAURANT IN EXISTENCE, I sit there and patiently wait for at least a cup of water, perhaps a "Can I get you something to drink?", or even my food utensils. Almost 20 minutes go by, figuring they're really busy, I let any form of criticism go, until I see the same host sit down a family, hands them their menus and instructs them where to go to order their meal. Had I of not over heard this, lord knows how much longer I would have waited, excuse me, how much more of my time I would have wasted waiting for him, or anyone, to take my order!
When I get the host's attention and ask him to clarify, he apologizes, saying he was too busy and forgot. Gee, thanks for forgetting the most valuable bit of information your restaurant needs to convey to every single one of your customers. Was it wrong for me to assume this was not a "self-serve" restaurant?
I then voice my complaint to the manager, who tries to block the front door (arms crossed, standing at least 6' 3" no less) perhaps trying to prevent another customer from walking out and offering me a gift card for my next time, I refuse and state this was my first time there and my last time there.
