Don't know why I'm having trouble. The 3 numerals are 3 choices that cost to download files. Nothing is "free".
I've downloaded many times with no problems. ?!

Maybe update your browser? I first tried with my out-dated Opera browser then tried the latest Firefox which worked fine.

EDIT: uploading to mirrorcreator for those having difficulties.

Here's a very slight different mix. Just thought the Blade Runner guys would find it interesting.

Interesting indeed. Thanks. :)

Might I ask which streams of the BluRay have you used for this and the Memoires cue? I have raided almost everywhere but surely something must have escaped my raids!

Hello All,

Christmas is a time for sharing so here is something special for all you Blade Runner fans. Over the last few months I have been working on a continous mix which captures the mood and more importantly, the emotion of this modern classic. Working closely with DC (who else?) my original edits have been loving handcrafted using the highest quality available source material to create a single, continous and completely seamless 57 minute mix of music from the film.

*** PLEASE NOTE that there is NO NEW material here, everything is taken solely from "Blade Runner (29th Anniversary Limited Edition)" released in 2011 by DC Music/Pendor.

The end result? Well, I find it to be thoughtful, uplifting and somewhat moving as the musical themes evoke the imagery of the film. The futuristic soundscape moves seamlessly from the busy Los Angeles Streets, to Deckard's meeting with Rachael, through Zhora's (sad) retirement to Roy's enigmatic rooftop monologue.

With 'The Sentient Mix' I have tried to create a subtlely different dimension to the music so that there is something new for Blade Runner fans old and new alike - I hope you like it as much as I do.

At this point I would like to express my gratitude to: -

a) everyone involved in the '29th Anniversary Limited Edition'
b) all of the contributors to the various FFShrine Vangelis & Blade Runner threads
and finally,

c) DC for his invaluable input, assisatnce and encouragement
Thank you all for your inspiration.

So, ladies and gentleman, I give you: -

What about Blade Runner 2. Surely it's obvious that Ridley Scott will have Vangelis doing the soundtrack. What do you all think ?

I hope to live to see that day really happening! :)
Rumours have that Vangelis was contacted about that. What he has answered has not slipped out yet.

Sometime ago I started to cut and paste bits out of many films to make out a photo-sequel (photo-wise if I can say that) of Blade Runner (the remake of Totall Recall, Le cinquime lment, Omega Doom and I can't remember how many more) based on the K Jeter books and the more obscure pieces off the various Vangelis albums (kinda of the Reflections boot)... but it proved beyond my capabilities I'm afraid! :)

Artwork for TSOBR-DE can be found here: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/bladerunner_soundtrack/info Note*You will have to be a member.

The Japanese Tracks are included with the EMS set, please note that the one that is included is the "expanded edition" is 10 tracks rather than the 5 track edition. Hope this helps? Let me think...

http://school.discoveryeducation.com/clipart/images/thinkingcapwhoa_color.gif

People do not usually read back through the entire posts most of the times... I understand a link might usually be sufficient... but I personally like to go back to where things might have started and evolved... :)

These are the whats (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/do-androids-dream-lossless-audio-files-blade-75274/29.html#post1879289) and whys behind the limited edition... (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/blade-runner-soundtracks-ultimate-thread-72496/36.html#post2043326)

One of the many reposts... and still working... (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/blade-runner-soundtracks-ultimate-thread-72496/43.html#post2482254) Same as in the latest reuploads courtesy of our unstoppable topic maker anyway! (Thread 72496)

This is why all of this was done. (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/do-androids-dream-lossless-audio-files-blade-75274/29.html#post1863230)

And this is all it needs to be known about the whole project perhaps... (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/blade-runner-soundtracks-ultimate-thread-72496/35.html#post1987595)

Oh... there's also a nice blog where you might find out some more... but I'll leave that to you all to find out. ;)

I am not at the right 'puter at this moment - I'll have those track listings posted here for you approximately 4 hours from now.

Mmoires Vol 5 (Blade Runner - Director's Cut) - FIC [1997]

01. Blade Runner suite 59.46

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Comments :

A few words needs to be re-told on this occasion. After comparisons with all the clues that made it into the year 2011, (nearly 15 years that this version was originally released in the usual limited edition fashion that seems to be much in vogue with everything Blade Runner related) and deep counsel among the more serious collectors, (informations got digged out of one of the earliest collector's vault who brought this rarity to light once more) finally we came to aknowledge the first version of the edition we all knew as "Mmoires Vol 5". The original release infact had a long single track also referred as "Blade Runner suite", later splitted into separate tracks (and renamed) according to the releases (Deck Music/Deck Art) that originated off this very concept. For these infos we are indebted to the only persons that could shed some light into the matter at Vangelis-Rarities and Yahoo Bladerunner Soundtrack Group and to a peer of good will for having helped with his time. So a special thank you goes to Zoran.

We are trying to preserve this edition in the only way we believe is for the best. Please do respect honest peers' work. I feel pressed to remind that you should not make profit off what it is not your own. You should not sell this.
Selling bootlegs is both illegal and unfair. Sharing knowledge should be not. The reason to be of this release is for a better archival purpose only.
Be responsible in giving back what you had for free. Consider sharing back what was shared of old. We are only left with what we share eventually. The more accurately (read properly) the better for the peers-to-be.
Alternate artworks kindly provided by fellow FFShriners JackC, Guilli and Xchullit. Also included original artwork's thumbnails.

Thanks to all peers of good will. They know who they are! Have a better one!

Blade Runner (soundtrack) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blade_Runner_(soundtrack))... the rest is something that this and other releases are still trying to capture with mixed results until the composer itself will decide to do so.
This edition, however, though more correct than any which preceded it, appears to contain the same versions (including same artifacts) as featured on the Blade Runner 2001 Version.
The Esper Edition just blended one into the other. Who's ripping off who then? Original artwork included together with custom fan-made artwork.

Comments :

Somehow when people just cannot get hold of something presumed to be good, the object of desire quickly gets to rank of stuff of legend. This had to be one of those rare example and we wish one of the few that had still to be uncovered from collection vaults contained within concrete fire-walls as it seemed to the most.
At a time repackaged as Nas Private Release with a track missing (Photo Analysis) and another track (Tyrell's Death) swapped with the version included in the soundtrack Outtakes (The Prodigal Son Brings Death), this is the full deal of the original if you were wondering.
Somehow I am inclined to believe the Nas Private release a workprint for this Theatrical Version and the subsequent Expanded Score on the 2019 Edition, but that we will never guess, unless they will tell us so.
Original artwork provided, but when the included recreated replica gets better than the original, we really owe to thank the hard work of the graphic conspirators.
Special thanks to JacKc and Guilli for the custom replica artworks and the fixes... and to Steven for having brought to everybody's attention the 2019 Edition, which from this release has originated, (most likely from the very same individuals).

Artwork is by me as this was supposedly only released as mp3 files. Made the covers to look very stoic and very German. Remember, as always, all music shared here is for enjoyment and archival purposes. I do not condone those who would scam-for-profit (unscrupulous sellers). I think the audio files may well be from a private release and not genuine?

Nothing new with this release. Most likely Radio Eins broadcast one of the many private releases? . . . ?

Actually Blade Runner - Radio 1 Hannover, Germany (2005) (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/blade-runner-soundtracks-ultimate-thread-72496/8.html#post1471744) is the same as Blade Runner - Off World version (1993) (http://www.vangelis-rarities.com/index.php?methode=methode1&id=29)

Some copies were actually pressed... and you could also buy it... and play it in a cdplayer! (http://www.cdtracks.org/album_vangelis_blade_runner_radio_1_hannover_germa ny_pro_18342_0-2885652.html)
Still, it was just a repackaging of the Off World mp3's (downloaded on Napster or Soulseek I'm guessing) as the Gongo version... but that was lossless at least. :)

Thanks for the artwork! ;)

Oh my... that will be more than my random-access memory can handle after all these years... most of the information got lost on the backup of the PM's at the time...

Let's see...

Though chronologically after the Blade Runner EMS Recombination first conceived by b5historyman in 2010, the very same "best-of-every-other-source-to-date" concept was at the same time also used by zelmo swift to assemble a different cut.

At the time I happened to help with both of them and, in the making, accidentally ended up adding some more "incidental" cues to the original concepts.

The EMS eventually got the extended japanese tracks bonus disc and the Chinatown Club got an extended cut to reflect the more "cinematic" approach that I was veering towards along with the original idea.

Some of the outtakes off both projects (as complete as the experience achieved at the time allowed) were later re-worked for the 29th Anniversary while the more cinematic cues were left in a drawer called Ultimate MR3 still sitting on some external hd... and the right time to dig them out... one day soon!

Other people "unintentionally" also contributed to it... All that can be re-told is to be found on http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/blade-runner-soundtracks-ultimate-thread-72496/18.html#post1605772 and in http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/blade-runner-soundtracks-ultimate-thread-72496/21.html#post1655882... and every other post in between of course! ;)

That's all folks! :)

Regarding all the other soundtracks, with artwork, how do you rate this one?
Sorry for the "unclarity"

dadadacicici
02-01-2015, 04:30 PM
How would you rate the Chinatown Club compilation?

It is never "unclear" once you get to know what the other person wanted to express! I suggest sharing a flat with an english speaking roommate! That will help a bit! ;)
My english is a mix of dutch, french and whatever I came across when travelling. anyway... so you might be right! :)

Well... the Chinatown Club selection in its original form had its flaws but it was nicely assembled. Being a compilation of different sources it had some repetitions since some cues used parts also included in other cues so some editing was needed to give a better flow to the final output. Some cues were at the correct NTSC speed while some other were at the speeded up PAL speed. But that has also plagued the 29th Anniversary and most of the things done on the side of the old continent.
The oversea releases did not have to cope with that unless to sync the hell out of both worlds. The initial Espers did have that issue for example. The very same issues came also in the making of the EMS anyway. A never ending story of mistakes and fixes. Some good some less good. The definitive EMS version came out a year later.
To make the Chinatown Club better some edits were done and it got the flow it now has.

I like it because it was different from the EMS even if listening to the very same music. A different angle to listen to the music in the movie (in the original version) and quite some radical additions of other cues (composed for the movie but not present on it) on the extended version. The EMS 2011 took quite a few suggestions after the edits done on the Chinatown Club. The extended cut of Salome's Dance was also incorporated in an "unplugged" form (without the strip club's Asian tourists chatting) for example. The "extended approach" then led to the 29th Anniversary.

Everything was done to make something different compared to the boots we were listening at the time and what was achieved both here, the Yahoo group and original Trilogy forums just showed that people did not always need to resolve to eBay to listen to newer incarnations of the soundtrack.

We got crazy at the time to smooth out all the differences to make it work as best as possible and still I owe a personal thank you to the maker for having getting me started at what came next... but that everyone here might already know. Just read the previous posts. Everything is still there. :)

Excellent history. Thanks!

I have 3 variations of Chinatown Club…"Extended Cut", "Definitive Compilation" and "Definitive Edition Extended Cut". The only main difference I see (other than the various artwork) is number of tracks. "Extended Cut" and "Definitive Edition Extended Cut" have 27 on the first CD and 20 on the other. The "Definitive Compilation" has 24 tracks on the first CD and 14 on the other. Is the "Definitive Edition Extended Cut" the final one that had the edits made, after the other two?

Is there 2 versions of EMS? I see you mention EMS 2011. Or does that just mean it was created in 2011?

Also, I might have taken this wrong from you, if so I apologize, you say "…suggest sharing a flat with an english speaking roommate! " I am from the United States, my wording just might have needed to be a little clearer. :)

dadadacicici
02-03-2015, 07:21 PM
Now I see! Your english is american! The american "way" is different from the one I got used while in England. You say it like that over there! Sorry, it was just me! It is just a different way to say the same thing.

First time in England it took me a while to understand that taking a lift did mean something different when someone wanted to escort you safely at your place. :)

I did have quite a hard time when I was staying in United States. Once I just asked for "maz", which is spanish (and also used in Mexico) for sweetcorn. I was in New Orleans so I took they could grasp that and I could not remember the english word for it. The girl at the counter kept asking me what I needed "maz" for and when I told her that I wanted to make a nice and tasty salad she called the security... It did took a while to get out of troubles all by my english and that I did not mean "mice"... but "maz"! They might still be smiling at that. :)

Simply asking for "milk" then was another adventure... they just could not understand my accent while I did not have a single problem in England... I might have resolved to mimic milking a cow perhaps... and the cashier eventually said that I was telling it the proper way but they did have a different english accent.
It took me a full week to get used to the different accent... but then every city had its own.
Once a friend said he would have liked to live in a "bush". I said that I was living near a big forest where I was coming from and it was nice... and they all laughed! Somehow they did mean something different for a "bush"... but we'll leave it at that. :)

There used to be a review of the Chinatown Club... someone did that on a blog... cannot remember where I stored it though. If I come across that I'll post it.

The version that was posted on http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/blade-runner-soundtracks-ultimate-thread-72496/46.html#post2628447 is the one you should have I am hoping. Either way we might call it there are two version of it. If you check with a sfv checker you will notice that you are having a dupe unless someone tampered with the tags.

The last time I did see for it it was when it was re-posted in the link above.

To be on the safer side you might want to delete the ones you are having (unless one is the original FLAC's) to avoid confusion and make space for anything else. Get the proper version as posted above.
The only difference is in the m3u files which will call the correct tracklist as intended. One for the extended cut and one for the original cut.
Can't remember how many tracks there were on both... but if you get the version as posted above that is the only version you might be wanting to keep for future reference.

There was a wrong track but a fix was soon posted after realizing the mistake... but you might have stumbled here a bit after that.

The EMS did have an initial release in 2010. Then following the suggestions, fixes and some needed additions it was re-released as a definitive edition in 2011. Meaning that according to the makers' point of view everything that could be done was done to get to that definitive stage. A sort of director's cut if you wish.

I still need to fix the "I'm the business" track on the EMS once and for all as a matter of fact. So as far I am concerned the last piece to be added to call it definitive has still to be added. But that might be one day soon...

And that reminds me that I will have to post the brief account of all the different versions of the soundtrack before getting another year older. :)

As a rule of thumb: keep sticking around; and all that is supposed to happen will eventually happen! I'm on it. ;)

Hehe. Funny english speaking experiences here the in U.S. :)

Is the EMS 2011 available here somewhere? I do have the first release. And it looks like you will be releasing a Definitive Edition of EMS??

I believe I have the right Chinatown Club. I did download the posted one you mentioned on page 46. But I'm going to check.

I've included a list that someone did some critiquing on various score's I got off the internet a few years ago. Can't remember where though. Here it is.....

LABELS: BLADE RUNNER TRILOGY, CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER, MUSIC
WELCOME
Hello to all, and welcome to my personal Blade Runner music site. As many on the Internet know, I am a passionate fan and aspiring collector of the music score for the motion picture “Blade Runner”, composed by Vangelis.
Well, that part doesn’t really need an introduction; but what does need an introduction is the goal and intention of this site. I started “Blade Run- ner Music” in an effort to preserve every last note of Vangelis’s music score into a comprehensive archive, and in the process meet many afi- cionados around the globe like myself who are willing to share and discuss their adoration for this score, their collections, and the latest discovery in unreleased music, from whatever source(s) available, among other topics.
Now, for those who are interested, I will be providing a guide on how to structure the two score CDs of the “Blade Runner Trilogy” in chronologi- cal order.
To fulfill my desire for a comprehensive archive, I will start by providing a list of music cues and cue segments missing from the official sound- track release, consisting of both bootlegged music and music that is unavailable outside of the film itself; hopefully the list will become more elab- orate in the future, but for now it is meant to clarify missing material so other fellow fans will know what to look for when purchasing or trading rare Blade Runner music. If anyone has an actual clean version w/o sound effects of any cue listed as “unavailable”, I would really appreciate it that they let me know ASAP so that I may update the information accurately.
Now, let me dispel any incorrect assumptions before I continue: if you are only looking for a blog or a site that hosts links for downloading, I have to inform you that it is second priority to what I am trying to accomplish here, which is a type of catalog for detailing all the Blade Runner music cues known to man in order to inform and help fellow aficionados on what exactly to look for when they bid/buy on sites like eBay or trade with other collectors. But I am certainly open to the idea of sharing Vangelis’s music on this site, as long as I am contacted beforehand about any link sharing and as long as credit is given to the original uploader. (If any of my readers is the original uploader, then no need to worry, you can go ahead and pat yourselves on the back. :)
So for now, please go ahead and enjoy ”Blade Runner Music”, feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the site, or if you wish to donate links to post; I will also put up a list of Blade Runner bootlegs and individual cues I am looking for, as well as requests by my fellow read- ers. If all goes well, everyone should be able to help each other out.

...and I will be sticking around. :)

For the EMS 2011 scroll back to the first page... courtesy of our topic starter as usual! ;)

I will have to add one last fix. Then it will be the definitive Definitive Ultimate Edition!

The list on Donnor's old blog was the one we used to compile the 29th Anniversary. :)

That is "da list"! ;)

Definitely not a bad idea... we did something similar for the workprint cues a while ago... I suppose with the same method all the cue could be added.

I'd be interested in that, especially since I'm continuing to work on pulling as much audio as I can from the surround channels of the various languages (thanks to Calidoran and DC for sending those to me). I've found one or two cues that I see no reference for anywhere.

Boom (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1V9j0k9i8A4Ii6BjfV6nNE36zPYCvCN3LoeRBvZ5H23s/edit?usp=sharing). Still incomplete with regards to cue times, but we're getting there. The majority of the cue titles are sourced from the BMI repertoire.

It's possible that 'Roy Stabs His Own Hand', 'Where Are You Going', and 'Outside The Building' are the actual names for different sections of 'Wounded Animals', since 'Wounded Animals' feels like a suite of individual cues...but I could be completely wrong.

"Roy Stabs His Own Hand" and "Outside the Building" are excerpts from "Wounded Animals," as best as I can tell. I had been calling them "Show Me What You're Made Of" and "The Roof" as they related to what's happening on screen when the music is playing. "Where are you going" is a 22 second cue where Roy sticks his head out of the window while Deckard is climbing (the title of the cue is the actual line of dialogue). There is no boot source for this as far as I can tell, but I'm trying to extract it from the various surround channels.

What is "Alive With Noise"?

If "Where Are You Going" was indeed composed, then it was replaced because that moment in the film was tracked with music from "Dangerous Days".

"Alive With Noise" was a title I made up for the cue when Deckard re-sets his fingers and climbs the cupboard; it's an insert that was most likely composed when the scene of Roy applying Pris's blood on his lips was re-edited to intercut with Deckard running away.

Also, I added "Japanese blimp source #2" to the spreadsheet because we still don't know the title or the artist!

Deckard's Dream,???,"Total length difficult to determine; various segments heard in the making-of doc, also re-used in ""Antarctica"""

Wasn't the other way round? Deckard's Dream music was lifted from Antarctica---hence re-used for the added Unicorn Dream sequence?

Also I would personally add also the non-Vangelis cues as the Chidori No Kyoku by Michio Miyagi segment, Ogi No Mato by Ensemble Nipponia, Qu'ran by Brian Eno & David Byrne and Bicycle Riders by Gail Laughton since they are part of the soundtrack.

Quite likely On The Trail of Nexus 6, The Prodigal Son Brings Death, Wounded Animals, Esper Analysis (a.k.a. Longing & Empty Streets) should be only excerpts of longer suites of what we only have fragments or edited versions. End Titles was much longer as we all know.
If we agree on that then let's make it like that. If we are proven wrong with an "official" argument then we just tried and died in the making. :)

Everything overdubbed on the Workprint was probably meant as a four tracks mix as opposed to the stereo mixes (overdubbed from the Workprint) later used in the movie perhaps... though some are just early versions of such tracks.

If we do agree on these things we might want to update the database then... as it was done for the Workprint cues. Also an extra couple of fields might be added to reflect what was officially re-edited for the Trilogy album, titles as given there and what is still to be heard on the movie/boots only with min sec where they are appearing... as it was done on the Workprint. It was done also on the Yahoo group if I remember correctly. That discussion lead to the Polydor mockup or Final Mix editions perhaps... can't remember...

So far is a good start... I am unsure on how to make the suggested changes (I am a database-illiterate)... if we do all agree on them of course! :)

Also an extra section with all the non-movie cues as presented on disc 3 and Rachael's Song (which originally might have been intended as A Song For Pris' Death perhaps) and Wait For Me, Damask Rose and so on might be added as last part of the database... music composed for but not used for the movie section. Just to make it as complete as possible about all the music composed and inspired by the movie from the same composer.

From there will be only fixing the name of the boot in which they were presented and how they were called... that is the easy bit perhaps! ;)

Re: "Where Are You Going," do you mean Wounded Animals rather than Dangerous Days? Last night I was listening through Wounded Animals again and found a section that sounds close to part of "Where Are You Going." It appears that bit may have been edited with a couple of chords from elsewhere, but I need to listen more carefully to be sure. Have you found anything on this?

I'm writing up my own list of cues and timings with sources as I piece together the score as used in the film. I'll post this in the next couple of days to see if anyone has any feedback or can point out something I've missed.

Score mixer Raine Hilson confirmed that "Deckard's Dream" was composed for Blade Runner, and then re-used for Antarctica.

I purposefully left the songs by other artists off the spreadsheet, as well as the music "inspired" by the film.

No, there is a part near the end of "Wounded Animals" that specifically corresponds to the shot of Deckard hoisting himself over the roof. But as far as I can recall, the music when Roy leans out of the window to taunt Deckard is tracked from the second half of "Dangerous Days". The dialogue covering that is: "That was irrational of you, not to mention...unsportsmanlike."

Since I'm doing a compilation of the music as used in the film, I decided to do my own spreadsheet (because we all need more spreadsheets, right?). I count 52 cues in all, some of which are repeated in edited form or which use different sections of familiar pieces. Some of the cue titles are names I've assigned based on what's happening in the scene, or a line of dialogue ("Would you come after me?" or "That's the Spirit," for instance). Others could stand clarification with a parenthetical title, such as the multiple appearances of "Tales of the Future," which correspond to different scenes.

Source music is in red text. From what DC has told me, at least some of what I've listed as "Asian source music" comes from a koto-and-vocal piece by Michio Miyagi called "Chidori No Kyoku." I haven't designated those cues yet because I still need to compare each to the Miyagi piece.

All timings are as they appear in the Final Cut.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rhArfumVZRMJrfR7hY_oMCxuoR3sRmOzkZcsyMCPs_M/edit#gid=0

As you'll see, I'm in the process of adding sources and notes. Any suggestions for changes/corrections are most welcome.

During Deckard's unicorn dream, we hear a music cue that also appeared in the movie Antarctica. Was this cue originally recorded for Blade Runner and recycled in Antarctica, or was it recorded for Antarctica and reused for the BR Director's Cut?

I worked on both films but can't quite place which music cue you mean.... I would guess that it was recorded originally for Blade Runner and used again for Antarctica but would need to hear it just to remember - I'm sorry I can't be of more help but I don't have a copy of the Directors Cut at home and can't remember which cue it is but I do have a slight recollection that we may have used something in Antarctica that came from the Blade Runner music.

Perhaps we cannot be that sure about that... The music is there to remind us of it at least! :)

Was the soundtrack mix for Blade Runner assumed from the onset as a quadraphonic film score? In other words, the quad mix was not a request made towards the end of the project as I read somewhere?

It was recorded in quad from the start.

When recording the track 'Rachel's theme' with Mary Hopkin, do you remember if Mary was invited to sing her part after the composition had already been put on tape on a previous session. Or did this composition come to life while Mary was in the studio? In other words, did Vangelis recorded this piece first on synthesisers.

As far as I can remember - she improvised this on the spot. Vangelis played the track to her and she oooed over the top - magical moment !By the way - I just wanted to say that I hate the fact that this song is called "Rachel's theme" -

It was recorded for the Death of Pris - where Batty/Rutgar sits there - puts her blood on his forehead and then howls....

I agree with the fact that it would have been probably too much for this music to go with this scene but that doesn't mean that it should be called "Rachel's theme" - it had nothing to do with her !

Glad I've got that out of my system lol !

I like to go back to "Memories of Green", Ridley Scott often praises this particular composition whenever he's interviewed about the music, and Terry Rawlings also referred to it in an interview not long ago. If I didn't know better it makes me believe there was a sense - perhaps at the time - "Memories of Green" was the musical highpoint of the film score, though this seems to be a bit unfair as the entire score is nothing but stunning. Can I ask you what were your personal favorite music of Blade Runner at the time? Those that you felt were special and unique.

Well - there were 3 bits of music I liked best -
Opening Titles -
The 30 second ride in the space ship -
Death of Tyrell -

Those three stand out for me most - no particular reason - I just like them.

I also like to ask about the Love Theme on Blade Runner. Originally there was an entirely different composition for this scene, and I think it is marvelous and it works with the scene. Do you recall why the "love scene" music was revisited ? Was it something that Vangelis felt he could redo it better (i.e. that ended up the saxophone version that we all know and love), or was he asked to change it?

I can't seem to remember a piece of music before the sax song - if there was another piece - then i can't recall it.

So it is final...there will be a Blade Runner 2! Nice! Wonder if Vangelis will be "contacted". As, I thought I read somewhere, him and Ridley Scott didn't get along.

Nah... they did get along in their way. Ridley was the first to acknowledge "the next level" the movie took after Vangelis lent his magic. It was him to suggest Memories of Green. Vangelis has remained more radical in his choices while Ridley has softened a bit more compared to him. See "The Man In The High Castle" series whose pilot has been shown very recently. But they both are geniuses in their way. They might still meet one last time to see if that magic might be renewed.
If Vangelis will accept of course. He might not considering his latest excursions in composition.
We'll see... and hopefully will hear.

Ridley Scott will not be directing though. And that is a sad news to me. I was expecting him to take on the legacy of the first one. But then I am not expecting anything transcendental about this second installment. You cannot top perfection. Period.

I do hope things will be done the proper way this time. With everything licensed for an official score straight away... without leaks and people like us tampering with whatever remains available to the masses.

Even if I grew so fond of looking everywhere to get all the bits missing that I will feel "cheated" to click a link on Amazon to get everything I might ever need in a couple of weeks time.

I cannot really imagine another lengthy marathon in yet another plethora of Blade Runner boots! The Blade Runner 2 Soundtracks Ultimate Thread! ;)

Oh well... one smart waiter at Ramsay might even suggest that you got a limited edition curry for your order.
Fish scales in it? You had the special Blade Runner sushi bar edition of course.

Take the latest One Direction cd (I know it is not appropriate... sorry everybody...) but lately when a new cd comes out you get: standard edition, limited double edition, deluxe edition, limited double cd edition, special Walmart edition, different versions for UK, US, Japan markets... iTunes special bonus track only version... next step in the trend will be your name in the lyrics of a track surely.

Even McDonald is selling limited edition of the same hamburgers we (well... not me actually) have already eaten at some point.

To get the full Black Sabbath new music when the cd came out I had to buy four different editions. :)

That is also happening with everything soundtrack related. Keep your customer happy, but not too much otherwise you are going out of business when releasing yet another version of the same soundtrack of which you always had the whole of it in your drawer. :)

It wasn't always like that though. It is being like that just lately.

It is a shame... but that is the way it is I'm afraid.

Oh... by the way: was the soap box the curry flavored one? I am missing that particular box to finish my soap boxes collection! ;)

I am lost here... Do you mean if there a Final Cut version around?

Not that I know of... but then I am not getting the question... sorry.

There is a BR-25 The Final Mix (2008), a mix of movie sounds and music mixed by The Gimp.

Then there is The Final Mix (2008) by Plimmy... but that is not what you were looking for I take.

Nothing as a Blade Runner - The Final Cut... on the audio side of things anyway...

Comments :

If you can picture yourself without the much (un)needed new generation of mobile phones trying to watch a movie on a tiny screen while travelling on public transport shutting out the commuters next seat chatting up their fiancee best friend or discussing the latest braveries of the preferred reality of the month you might find this quite a wicked release.
The movie without the visuals for the ultimate blind cinematic experience.
Music from Vangelis et all with all the characters of the movie popping in and out as heard in the Official Final Cut by Ridley Scott.

Blade Runner "The Final Cut" [P-103|E] es una versin en la que no encontrars nada nuevo, solo audio stereo en alta definicin de 24-bit/96kHz, con un peso de 4GB.

Many of the lossless Blade Runner CD rips on misterekis' site has a technical issue. The tracks have sector boundary errors - just drop the files into "trader's little helper" software and scan for sector boundary errors. Not all the discs there have this issue but many of his rips do. This is a major issue because sector boundary errors mean the tracks weren't ripped properly, and could result in "pops" between tracks because the tracks aren't cut properly on a sector boundary. Any proper audio ripping utility will rip a CD on sector boundaries without anything special being done - it's just done automatically - so I have no idea what software the guy is using to rip these Blade Runner discs. Trader's Little helper can fix those errors but the fact that there is an included cue sheet throws that off because the cue sheet won't be accurate if the files are altered. The cue sheet is included specifically to burn to CD but with these rips the tracks are not suited to burning due to the sector boundary errors. Are there other sources for those scores that may have been ripped correctly?

This can happen sometimes with fan-made projects where the tracks have not been cut properly, but since these are CD rips, there shouldn't be sector boundary errors at all.

i know merged indexed tracks that are transcoded from mp3 to wav will play those glitches on a hifi cd player.

Blade Runner - Struzan UK Edition from mediafire please! these links are broken

Most of the Mediafire links were taken down a while ago I'm afraid. Same fate as for the Megaupload links and most, if not all, of the Rapidshare links.

This is a repackaged version of the Blade Runner - 20th Anniversary Edition anyway. You might want to check that for a better version than the transcoded Struzan UK version.
Simply retag accordingly... et voil! Better than the original! :)

The missing milliseconds to make up for a full sample will not make any difference when you will burn the files with the included cuesheet. Any program will ignore that because it will write the samples on the cd sectors according to red book standards thus fillling up what is missing with silence. And since silence will be added at near or zero db amplitude that will not produce any noticeable artifact.
If you burn the files and then re-rip the cd you will be getting the corrected versions of the files, if you wish, but still you will be having two sonically identical files.
Pops are only occurring when there is a difference in amplitude between two adjoining waveforms. For example a dither noise added to the file will not pop or glitch when silence is applied to it to make a full sample.

i know merged indexed tracks that are transcoded from mp3 to wav will play those glitches on a hifi cd player.

The glitches will be there only if you keep the decoder delay to encode the source files resulting in a gap in between the waveform. The Los Angeles - November 2019 edition from the Esper Team is a typical example.
The original splitted aiff's did not exhibit that when pasted all together. But those are lost to most I'm afraid.
If you use foobar2000 most of the times (especially with LAME encoded files) you will not get that gap anyway. It is called gapless playback for example.
But it is useful only if you want to burn Armin Van Buuren ASOT splitted files! :)

Having said that I will forward a formal complaint to Pendor resting in peace in the depths of the red sea or some other place near there! ;)

... I second the above post of Atget... plus the version you are referring to is shorter compared to the original limited pressing.

Initially available as downloadable only version, it was recently pressed on cd and branded as remastered.

If it really is I cannot tell... but how can you remaster something 1 year old is beyond my comprehension...

I'd stick to my original pressing! :)

Only the "list" was shared! Not the physical files! At least not for the "rest" of the Vangelis fans out there. :)
Neither that music deemed so "important" was ever released in the usual "special limited edition to 20 copies not licensed for public sale"...
But that is "distribution" to few aficionados rather than trading in my opinion.
Most things will probably go lost when those tapes will glue to the capstan or the cd's out of them will skip to death.
All the lists I received had all sort of things Vangelis, but not the files of that list. Neither most of the people sending those very long detailed lists, including also what was shared here, ever got back after receiving what they were "hunting"...
Nothing out of that list ever leaked in full. At least only the same things that made it to us in a different way. See the Gongo, Mmoires and so on. The foreign dub DAT made it into The Special Edition and The Director's Cut, The Esper, Asian Worlds and all that followed. But not this particular one. WHY?
Surely Vangelis handed out some tapes of what he was recording. Some made the Off World Edition for example. But not all of the cues on them (http://www.vangelis-rarities.com/index.php?methode=methode1&id=32) as we all know.
I tend to think that that list was assembled out of what we are all having and also including something that it was chose to keep personal.
Some of what was chose to be kept personal might even pop out soon or later. :)

The final cut documentaries all had cues playing under them that were in themselves, clean, so they had to have been available to some very privileged....

Those were the finished cues (unedited final mixes) used "or unused" for the movie. Of course they have them! But they are bound to contractual agreements, which means they cannot disclose them to the public.
Remember that it was 1994 when something was officially released. 2007 when something extra was lifted from the vaults. All of this thanks to the composer and the label agreement eventually.
Most likely it will be 2019 when the full deal will grace all the aficionados out there! ;)

The tapes were something different anyway. Some of them might have had unfinished or unedited demo versions that might have been probably lost in favor of new mixes... Tales Of The Future might be an example...

The FIC edition comes from the DAT (http://vangelis-rarities.com/index.php?methode=methode1&id=26) containing all the music and sound effects of the Director's Cut, before it was cut up and re-organized for the Esper Editions, Memoires, Deck Art, and countless other fan edits.

I've listened only 5 tracks and it contains every sound from first theatrical edition from the 5-disc megabox, I've ordered on 25'th Anniversary of the movie!

The only thing I thought sort of strange - some tracks have different bitrate and whole tracks doesn't have tape stray, you know, cracks and hisses..

As you can see all 3 are slightly very different?

Now first off, I may have the 2 BR soundtracks above listed incorrectly, and I need that corrected if that is the case. Secondly what is the first of the 3 soundtracks above? If it is the 2nd or the 3rd, then what is the 2nd or the third? I haven't looked at these for a while and now I have confused myself. Help?

...Tell me, do I have the other 2 correctly identified?
Blade Runner-Director`s Cut Limited Edition (Mmoires Vol. 5)[1997 FIC Ltd.]
&
Blade Runner-Director`s Cut (Japanese Edition) (Mmoires Vol. 5)[1997 FIC Ltd.]
respectively?

All of these are Mmoires 5 versions as uploaded and mislabeled during the years on most threads... and not only here.

You can safely trash the third one labelled as Blade Runner-Director`s Cut(Japanese Edition)(Mmoires Vol. 5)[1997 FIC Ltd.]
Thread 72496 since it was a made up version sold on a russian mp3 site i cannot recall the name... they were selling also tracks of my band I used to play...
It is a repack to which it was just added the Blimp advert cue to it to make it more collectable and milk more credits from the initial amount you needed to pay in order to buy music off the site.
Thread 72496

The second one is also Memoires 5... we made the track-list based on the informations we were having at the time... which to date did not change as a matter of fact. :)

So is it this one: http://www.vangelis-rarities.com/index.php?methode=methode1&id=26 and someone split up the each side into tracks?

I remember that it came in 2 parts and I put it into 1 folder.

The first one if I remember correctly it was split from the original FIC suite cd also known as Mmoires vol 5 - Director's Cut

You might have got the first one here:
Thread 75274
Divided into two parts to overcome the 200 mb limit cloud storage servers were having at the time.
The maker of the 1 track suite at some point did index the original long track and that is what it was posted.
There were some overlapping milliseconds on that post because the original archive had silence added at the end of each track.
I remember having worked with the uploader to fix that but eventually the archive was posted before I could add my contribution and it was left as it was not to add yet another version for a handful of milliseconds.

Out of the DAT made for the foreign dubs of Blade Runner (the movie without the local languages that were to be added using the DAT content as backing track) originated an initial release called Mmoires 4.
Then Mmoires 5 came out (more detailed and focused on the subject but with the sound fx's off the DAT added) and lastly Mmoires 7 (later remastered into the Deck Art edition) which added a bit of its own as in the Leon sequence where synth overdubs (not played by Vangelis) were added.
None of the above tries had the chronological sequence of the music as heard on the movie.
What the Esper guys did was to make the Mmoires releases and everything else they were having into a more proper chronological order.
We all know the output of that ending to The Retirement Edition.

I think I have posted the rip of the original disc here at some point.
Thread 94478
Thread 75274
Cannot recall where... but I can see for it if you wish to put a full stop on the Mmoires 5 matter once for all. ;)

The original DAT content to date was never "publicly" shared and will never be for reasons that we do need to ask.
What could be used was used for what made to us eventually.

Not the treasure we were all expecting... and not much to add to the legend around it I'm afraid. :)

I don't have that particular edition, but I think I heard it at some point; Leon's Test is basically the music playing under the initial V-K test, administered by Holden, and it seems like the two versions of Leon's Gunshot represent different "passes" at eliminating the gunshot sound from the end of the scene.

Those particular 3 tracks, originally posted on Yahoo, were the work in progress on the buried sounds in the rear channels of the movie and the restoration of the synth chord as could only be properly heard on the Blade Runner Radio special that made it onto Mmoires 12.

Curiosities

Listening all this time to the movie DVD sources I've noticed that there are subtle differences in the background music comparing the English version with the other language ones including the Blu-Ray edition . The last addition for those who likes this kind of things is the "Leon's test" track from the Spanish version (I suppose that will be the same in other languages). The main difference I've found is the absence of the "heartbeat" effect (you can hear in TSOB version) and a longer musical ending without the background voices.

If you want to hear it this is a 2' 30 " flac version. Enjoy it.

Very cool. Thanks for sharing this!

This reminds me... there's a very short piece of music I've never heard on any of the boots, probably because of it's insignificance. It's the one-note piece heard when Leon shoots Holden. I don't suppose there's an isolated version of that floating around?

Hi,

You can hear it the Sebastien's 2008 version but unfortunately, I can remember that it was impossible to separate the music from the gunshot. But, regarding the elements given by Vicente and that the separation of channels is quite different depending on the language of the source (spanish, polish, english,...), maybe it would be available...

Intrada, surely they can do something ? I feel sick, in over 30 years we've still not got a complete score to this film. It's cruel to say the least. I created the theatrical version and the 2001 version by the way. I'm not bragging cause they went mostly unnoticed. I just want the vaults to open up with this soundtrack. Really annoying.

The problem here is "LEGAL". Warner has the rights on all the music composed for the film. They can use the music as scored by Vangelis but not the actual work as played by Vangelis without permission to do so by the composer. See New American Orchestra or Edgar Rothermich renditions. They have their copies stored in their vaults. Vangelis does also have copies of it in his vaults.

So far they reached a deal for the Trilogy release in 2007. But stuff was axed from the Trilogy version for contractual disputes that are still lingering after 30 years and was not included.

By 2019 they might probably come to a mutual agreement I am hoping! :)

The Theatrical and the 2001 versions are among my favorites as a matter of fact! ;)

Gosh you're a passionate. What the fuck this is crazy.

I reckon I am just a tiny bit more on the obsessed side of the "passionate" thing! ;)

:rockwell:

The real issue here is the composer. He decided not to licence part of the music composed for the movie, as for every composer sacrosanct right that he is entitled to do so, and he is still have not changed his mind after all these years.

You stubborn Greek... if you can ever read this... the problem is that we all love you... and you know that...

I wonder about the Blade Runner sequel soundtrack...
Will it be another slab of electronic masterpieces or classical oriented textures if he will be asked to work on it?

"Le Crpuscule des Ombres" seems to be extremely promising on the scoring side judging from the people who went to the premiere... let's hope he will be involved on that... :)

dadadacicici
12-04-2015, 06:04 PM
It is also possible to get part of those SFX out of the Blade Runner's Westwood game (but non in the same quality). Their game department was given the same SFX to use in the game. Same SFX as heard on the second Esper release anyway. :)

One of these days I should post the isolated score (soundtrack minus dialogue) of The Final Cut. It seems someone was able to "get" to that eventually... ;)

I must say I've listened to the music for the Westwood game and my personal thought's feel it really doesn't have Blade Runner similarity...almost like a bad attempt to try to come close to the original. But still listened with an open mind. Is it true that some of the music from the Westwood game is used in the Los Angeles - November 2019?

How's The Theatrical version? I know of it but never saw it available to download. Any help??

It does not have the same feeling though it does retain the original vibe on some tracks... Some of the SFX from the Blade Runner movie where used in the game. Warner granted them the use for the game sequences.

Yes. Those same SFX where used to arrange part of the Los Angeles - November 2019 sound textures.

In fact, that's not a link. It is simply underlined text! :)

But you might find the type of link you are referring to in the first underlined text below... though you might skip the rest of the clicking perhaps! ;)
Ah ah... It seems I found another deadly trap after the not-that-cryptic password thing! People clicking everywhere trying to spot the hidden link... Hi hi... Expect the unthinkable in future posts! :awsm:

The original episodes were broadcasted back in December 2003 on Radio2 national radio station in Italy.
These were re-broadcasted in 2012. The quality is not that good and there is a better rip floating around anyway.
You might already have that I trust.
Pretty interesting since it takes the book by P. K. Dick into the Blade Runner movie universe, adapting the book into a radio "movie tie-in" with music by Vangelis and using the original voices used for the Italian dubbing of the movie (http://www.antoniogenna.net/doppiaggio/radio/bladerunner.htm).
Curiously they are boasting about this being available again courtesy of the Italian national television (RAI) pretty omitting when it was first aired and giving away only few notes to accompany the podcasts (http://www.radio2.rai.it/dl/portaleRadio/media/ContentItem-34636e0c-c3a3-4988-a1ff-48a60b6f0dc0.html).
Preserving an accurate past can help create a more detailed future, but to some people that might be more of an option perhaps.
If RAI keeps forgetting and re-branding its past like that no wonder people turned to commercial broadcasting networks.
Also available on iTunes (https://itunes.apple.com/it/podcast/blade-runner/id521994268?mt=2) as "collectible" podcast if you wish. This was better tagged by the original uploader anyway.
Only for people living in that funny country south of the Alps (in their native language if you haven't grasped it yet) and Blade Runner collectors alike! :)

... I cannot answer for Jack... but WillDekkard has worked out a nice alternate artwork for it.

I am still working on fixing the eq on some tracks (I have run out of disk space basically) but I trust by the time I am freeing up some space we might see the rest of the artworks from JacKc. ;)

Hey, I'm new here, and I have to say I LOVE this thread. I always read about these bootlegs in Future Noir and never thought I'd be able to hear the music they contained, and this thread has just been so awesome for me (especially since this is my all-time favorite film).

I have to ask, though... Has there ever been a proper mp3 dump of the original 1982 bootleg tape? I realize many later bootlegs supplant this one, but for history's sake, it'd still be great to hear. I know that the Outtakes tape is contained in one of the bootlegs here, but can the same be said for the '82 tape?

Do you mean the "Tapes Collection"? It's early cuts from 1982, in London. 10 tracks on CD 1 and 11 tracks on CD2.

No, ABen is referring to this tape (http://vangelis-rarities.com/index.php?methode=methode1&id=32). There's never been a proper lossless rip of it, much less an mp3 dump, due to its extreme rarity.

It hasn't been completely supplanted by later bootlegs, (it contains two unique cues: "Leon's Interrogation" and "Lift-Off") so it remains pretty high on my want list. I just wish it had leaked by now, and by all rational logic it should have, but no such luck.

I think Lift-Off is on the Outtakes, but the mind truly boggles as to the contents of that "Leon's Interrogation"

I guess much like the the San Diego Sneak Peak, we may never truly know... Or at least, see, I guess.

Let's sum it up.
The 1993 Off World version is one of the original demo tapes rip.
It included among some not Vangelis cues also 14 cues as heard on those tapes circulating at the time among the people who worked on the movie.

02. Main Titles and Prologue 4:03
03. Los Angeles November 2019 1:46
04. Deckard Meets Rachael 1:29
06. Memories of Green 5:39
07. Blade Runner Blues 10:19
08. Deckard's Dream 1:12
09. On the Trail of Nexus 6 5:30
11. Love Theme 4:57
12. The Prodigal Son Brings Death 3:35
13. Dangerous Days 1:02
14. Wounded Animals 10:58
15. Tears in Rain 2:41
16. End Titles 7:24
17. One More Kiss Dear 4:00

A different tape was at some point shared containing 10 tracks.
Those tracks were included on The Tapes Collection as OgiNoMato has kindly pointed out.
But they were warmed up via an analogue passage which included enhancer, an eq and a pre-amp and I cannot remember what else. Probably light denoising...

Disc One (Master Tape Final Mixes)

01. Main Titles 1.51
02. Los Angeles, November 2019 1.47
03. Deckard Meets Rachael 1.29
04. Blade Runner Blues 10.11
05. Love Theme 4.55
06. The Prodigal Son Brings Death 3.34
07. Dangerous Days 1.05
08. Wounded Animals 10.52
09. Tears In Rain 2.41
10. End Titles 7.24

Disc Two (Master Tape Mastering Cues)

01. Main Titles 2.08
02. Los Angeles, November 2019 1.46
03. Deckard Meets Rachael 1.20
04. Blade Runner Blues 3.25
05. On The Trail Of Nexus 6 4.10
06. Salomes Dance 1.38
07. The Prodigal Son Brings Death 3.52
08. I Dreamt Music 1.04
09. Replicants Love Theme 2.35
10. Morning At The Bradbury 3.44
11. Memories Of Green 3.55

There is still the original tape rip of those 10 tracks if anyone is interested. But to that was applied some kind of post processing as well anyway.

I am inclined to think that the "Lift-Off" cues Donnor is referring to is the very same "Los Angeles, November 2019" on the 10 tracks tape... what else otherwise?
Legend goes that there is a 16 minutes version which included all the session music for the initial scene... but that is not for us I'm afraid.
Probably the Lift-Off edit is another part of the longer session... but very similar to the Los Angeles 2019 cues most likely... if not the same but re-used for that scene.
The Leon cues is missing anyway and only the die-hard a.k.a. hard-to-share collectors have that particular cue.
It was unearthed on other boots though...

The version on the Outtakes is different because it is the movie production master and not the unedited mixing tape version.

There is a difference here. I trust you got that. :)

IT IS THE MUSIC COMPOSED FOR THE MOVIE AND NOT YET RELEASED THAT IS THE ONE TO LOOK AFTER IN MY OPINION! ;)

Can anyone tell me which version would be best to download for a clean version of the (most complete) score but WITHOUT the sound effects and voiceover narration that was included on the original CD release? Every one i've tried always has some form of this and i would love to just get the clean score?

Thanks

Try EMS Recombination or 2019 Edition. They've got a lot of the same problems as the other bootlegs, but they have the cleanest versions of their tracks you're likely to hear.

How this scene was ever replaced by the unicorn is beyond me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W202F-RhjVo

Sir Walter Scott wanted to give away a hint that Deckard might be a replicant... so that scene became obsolete in the light of the new turn of the intended vision...

I am still grateful that all the different versions were restored in order to give a true historical vision of the process that lead to The Final Cut.

Cannot say that for Star Wars to date...

I trust you have seen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLBXZzHZ1yE&ebc

I agree. This scene is far more atmospheric and implies that Deckard could be a replicant without forcing the issue. I preferred the ambiguity left with the viewer. We could interpret it in our own way.

When I eventually discovered a boot version better known as 2001 edition (http://www.vangelis-rarities.com/index.php?methode=methode1&id=17) I was impressed with the clever editing of the cues included on it.

The same clever editing on the rear channels of the 2007 dvd made it also on what we all know as the theatrical edition (http://www.vangelis-rarities.com/index.php?methode=methode1&id=168), shortly after expanded into the more complete 2019 version (http://www.vangelis-rarities.com/index.php?methode=methode1&id=170), with the Nas 2008 version being a work in progress of the previous versions.

The approach was purer compared to what the Mmoires suites were showing.

What was finally shared by the same maker has to be the natural following of the work done on the theatrical version.

Bravo to the maker. ;)

I'm looking for an opinion from some of you more knowledgeable folks here.

I've recently tried my hand at assembling a recreation of the original 1982 "Tapes" bootleg (i.e. the one featured here: http://vangelis-rarities.com/index.php?methode=methode1&id=32)

I've had an easy time for the most part. It currently runs 56 minutes, rather close to the length as reported in the Future Noir book and this website. However, at the last minute, I've run into a bit of a personal problem.

Track 2.

I know that Leon's Interrogation survives in two versions; one with a sort of odd synth sound to it, and the other bizarre 'ping' atonal cue heard in the film. My question is which one appeared on this bootleg. Both versions I've found have around the same 1:10 length as reported on this bootleg. I'm just trying to find the right one.

Because I think I have a mild-to-serious case of OCD.

If I got that right you have stumbled across the versions out of Memoires 5 and Memoires 7 or Deck Art.... is that correct?

Anyway... what you are hearing on Memoires 7 and Deck Art was added at a later date.
You only need to layer both versions and play them at the very exact sample.
If two identical signals are 100% or 180 degrees out of phase they will completely cancel one another if combined.
The original music will disappear because of phase cancellation and only what was added (the synth arpeggio) will remain.
It does sound nice but it is not how it was intended by the original composer of the 1982 tape.
I trust you got the message! :)

All cues out of the tape you are mentioning are the same as in the original Off World boot (several generations altered) and the "Outtakes" (final mixes of those same rough demo versions).
On the Workprint you can hear them as close as they probably made it onto the 1982 tape.

An on regard to the picture on Vangelis Rareties...

HOW COULD POSSIBLY A 1982 TAPE HAVE A LABEL WITH DIRECTOR'S CUT PRINTED ON IT?
There wasn't even a cut back then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.: What a "mild-to-serious case of OCD" is?

If I have gotten your message, I believe I've chosen the correct cue. The version on Memoires 7 is its own unique one. What I have currently is a 1:20 cut of basically what's in the film. It eludes me now where I found it...

Not too sure where he got that "director's cut" label from. The picture I used for album art is just a generic 60 minute cassette with 'Blade Runner' across the top in courier. That's how Paul M. Sammon described it.

If anyone's interested in this, I can share the files to be uploaded to mediafire.

Then you have used the original (not tampered with the extra synth overdub) version on Memoires 5.

What I have currently is a 1:20 cut of basically what's in the film. It eludes me now where I found it...

The Sound Of Blade Runner has it as "Leon's Voight Kampf Test". The 29th Anniversary has it both as "Leon's Test" and "Leon's Voight Kampff Test (Alternate Take)".

I might also have it in several different cuts that will resemble the above...

If anyone's interested in this, I can share the files to be uploaded to mediafire.

Hello! I wanted to send a reply, in order to thank all of the efforts that have been put down here. When I saw the movie in 1982 I did not get the meanings and the depths of what had been shown on screen (I was 12... so...). But the music did get me! I have listened to Vangelis records for about 35 years (along with Jarre or Tangerine Dream, among others). I work as an architect in the south of Spain, and I use music as a background inspiration when I design and Blade Runner score is defenetly one of my favourites. When I was studying in Sevilla I remember as if it was today when I received a CD copy of the "1982 tapes" and it was stunning to listen to that. I still have it...
I will try to come around often (my work and two babies consume so many many time) so I can maybe add my little grain of sand, if it is possible. So, dadadacicici, JacKc, and so many Im not naming, thank you again. Best regards to all from Spain

On behalf of most you did not name You're welcome!

You might even receive a special gift delivered directly in your inbox if you keep posting and eventually get round to see for a good transfer off that bloomin' tape! :)

Most links here are for the lossy versions, there is another thread for the lossless versions... or you might just drop a message also here if you need anything upgraded to lossless.

Though we might be missing only a single cue who knows what to expect. Most of the cues in that tape already made it to the Off World and Gongo editions...

If you haven't got a tape off the Off World or Gongo cd's... which means you were in Sevilla (nice place by the way!) around 1993 or after, you might be having a rarity.

We take you were in Sevilla before that date... let's say in the late 80's... and your tape does feature the Leon cue as well... If not something different.

If you would rather send a PM might you ever need any help to properly transfer the tape you know where to click! ;)

Thank you, dadadacicici! Yes, I will try to post as much as possible!
Im not sure if this CD I told is worth or not... my memories betrayed me a bit, when I took yesterday the CD from the shelf, it exactly reads "The Original 1982 Recordings" on the front... Sorry if I started a bit fire for maybe nothing... On the back it reads "Manufactured and distributed in Germany by ODDYSEY Records Limited OCD-005"
The track listing is as follows:
1. The Ladd Company Logo (0:27)
2. Theme From Blade Runner (4:02)
a. Main Titles (1:35)
b. Prologue (1:35)
c. Los Angeles, November 2019 (1:40)
3. Lift Off (1:50)
4. Deckard Meets Rachel (1:33)
5. Bicycle Riders (2:14)
6. Memories of Green (5:43)
7. Blade Runner Blues (10:22)
8. Deckards Dream (1:15)
9. Tales of the Future (5:31)
10. One More Kiss, Dear (4:03)
11. Love Theme (5:01)
12. The Prodigal Son Brings Death (3:38)
13. Blimp Advert (2:50)
14. Dangerous Days (1:05)
15. Wounded Animals (11:02)
16. Tears In Rain (2:45)
17. End Titles (7:27)

I might have received the CD around 1997 or 1998. Nonetheless, if you feel it can be good for the community, Ill try to make the music reachable to everyone.
If I have time tomorrow, Ill scan the CD booklet and the back, it may add more information

I have tried to attach three pictures, front, back and inside, from this CD, so you can have a look at it, but it says that exceeds my quota... though they are small files, about 61 kb, 800x600 px. Maybe I have to post more to be able to do so?
Im sorry for your fingers, dadadacicici... Im paying my novelty here, I suppose
Now, time to sleep... Tomorrow it is going to be a complicated day...

It's not a good idea to try and upload pics here since the size allowed isn't all that big. Try using an external picture host instead like imgur or tinypic or perhaps any other suggestion. Have a look at the Custom Covers thread and see what they use :)

And i hope your day will not be too complicated

Hi kaplan,

Here are a couple of tips for you, only use the image attach feature at this forum only when you have one medium size picture or smaller and do not forget to uncheck "Retrieve remote file and reference locally".
The second tip, if you do not have the software or ability to reduce the image you want to share always use Imagebam file host.
I have had a lot of negative experiences with both Imgur & Tinypic either deleting my uploads arbitrarily or in Tinypic's case they replace your image with one you did NOT upload!

How to upload using Imagebam:
1. Click "Select Files" which you will then do by finding them where they live on your HD.
2. "Select Type" click the drop down menu and select "FAMILY SAFE content".
3. "Thumbnail Options" select 350x350 pixel.
4. "Gallery Option" uncheck "create a gallery from uploaded images" but you can leave this checked if you want.
5. Click "UPLOAD NOW!" next to your image select BBCode, copy and paste the code into your message here.
... If you chose more than one image copy & paste the complete code at the top of the page "All at Once" into your message.

This is definitely a new bootleg... [!!!!]

Well, if this is ripped and uploaded, it could potentially be the last missing link in unraveling the mystery of the 1982 tape.

Why isn't Zoran running for president along Miss Clinton and Mr The Other One?

I would definitely know which one to vote then! ;)

Too good to be true in my opinion... but I am still keeping my fingers crossed! :)
