...unexpected end of archive.
Try using a download manager as JDownloader, any download manager will do really. There is no such thing as a damaged file when other 799 people have already got the archive safe and sound. If you are using your browser during server busy times your download will get aborted and you will be getting the message you are reporting... as a rule of thumb... with everything cloud storage related.
Minus has a policy of updating links from time to time... so if you get stuck in between this from time to time your download will be very likely get aborted.
Keep having a tiny deal of patience (quite mandatory actually, and always required when using download managers unless you like yelling at something who will not reply no matter what) and the rest will follow on itself really.
The best of luck! ;)

arfgh, I primarily use WinRAR but when I get the error "unexpected end of archive" or similar I unpack using 7zip instead and 95% of the time it unpacks fine. If you continue to have trouble make sure you have the latest version of whatever archiver you are using and if the problem persists you may have to download the file again and unpack. But as DC said, many have already download this one and opened without a hitch.

You are quite right this time. Minus users are experiencing some problems at the moment. I cannot download stuff either.
Keep trying in the next days. I will be back home in a few weeks and cannot access my backup from where I am being I'm afraid.
The lossy version is still online... and it is not that different since the source is a low quality mp3 anyway. Have a look at page 17 and around in the meantime.

I'm new here, and really enjoying the 29th anniversary edition. I'm curious, was there ever a lossless release?
I'm also wondering what the reasoning is for including the new music from Vangelis' 2007 3CD comp since it wasn't actually in the film. For the sake of completeness?

More or less the answer is yes. Somehow it was tried to see how the 2007 new music could have sounded as in an ideal extended cut of the movie. Extras scenes and different angles of what got us all hooked to the movie.
The makers thought it might work and being worth a try. So the EMS Recombination, The Chinatown Club and then the 29th Anniversary Edition were conceived.
There is also an extended cut of the latter, a more cinematic angle of the music in the movie more in the vein of the EMS Recombination bonus disc, but that will be released sometime in the new year. Enjoy! :)

I'm a little late in this, but I was able to download the lossless version of the 29th Anniversary Edition and have been enjoying it over the past month. I've been on a Blade Runner soundtrack binge lately, listening to various different versions and comparing with the music as used in the film.
Which brings me to a question. Is there any interest in a collection of the music as it was used in the film? I've started compiling and editing such a set for my own amusement, but I'd be happy to share it when I've finished. One thing I did, which may or may not be controversial, is to overlay the first piano passage from the film onto "Love Theme," which I've always personally liked a lot as it appears in the scene. I've also discovered that, in the film, the first Animoid Row piece (Tales of the Future) begins with the first vocal passage crossfaded onto the front of the piece, then the familiar instrumental intro and a repeat of the vocal passage before fading. There are a couple of other instances of things like this, and I realize it isn't the "pure" music as Vangelis might have created it, but I'm curious to see how it plays as a whole once I've finished compiling everything from the different sources.
I've also digitally de-clicked "Pompeii 76 A.D" both manually and using a remarkable program called Click Repair. It's not completely clean, but it sounds much better than previous versions. If I could get a pristine copy of the LP, I'd do a new transfer myself, but it seems to be quite the rare title!

That is very unlikely I'm afraid. The pristine copy I mean. I had that version from the vinyl but the problem was not in the clicks but in what was left after the declicking. The Off World or the Gongo is the transfer you might want to work on perhaps... but since you will end up in a less screwed version compared to the eq applied in the cd reissue... well... have a go and see if you can make it better. To put it like Dr. Eldon Tyrell: "We've already tried it"... actually we got stucked on that for a month while making the 29th Anniversary... and resolved to a re-equalized cd version eventually.
By the way. You might want to use something like iZotope RX2 for the declicking stuff. Do that manually since otherwise you will soften the attacks of every single spike in the waveform. ;)

The links on the first page were taken down by the host server I'm afraid, but you might try the following links (courtesy of a well known search engine):
Vangelis, VA / Blade Runner - Esper 'Retirement' Edition [APE/FLAC] 2011 Pendor (

Blade Runner - Esper 'Retirement' Edition (5 Disc / FLAC) - TPB (

Depending from the country you are living your IP might get blocked and you won't be able to access the swedish site... I trust you will have to be quite smart with proxies in case.
Most things, also hosted on these pages at some point, could still be obtained here:
Esper Retirement Edition (
http://isohunt.com/torrents/?ihq=esper+retirement+edition)
Both links are referring to the version fixed by Pendor which has a proper track indexing and has the missing pre-index bits off the opening track. Unfortunately no serious collector has ever shared one of the original set originally sold on eBay and most are bootlegs (like the dutch edition) of the original bootleg (a joint venture of some clever ebay sellers) as a matter of fact.
Good luck! :)

Put the archive on a root folder. Meaning put them in C:\"NAMEOFTHEARCHIVE.rar"
Rename "NAMEOFTHEARCHIVE.rar" to "E.rar" so to get C:\E.rar or just decompress "NAMEOFTHEARCHIVE.rar" to C:\
Try decompressing now and it will work. Unfortunately Pendor seem to have a liking for long files names. :)
As for torrents... well... it's like anything you might like... once you pop you can't stop. :)

As far I am concerned there is no point in doing a remastering to gain in sound quality only to be diminished by an inferior coloured vynil quality.
It seems that is the stuff collectors' vaults are made of...
I would have bought it if it was in black vynil which retains more quality after repeated listenings.
Red vynil will deteriorate considerably compared to black vynil... Shall we buy yet another picture to frame on the wall or to show up to our friends then? :)

This is the version originally posted on The Blade Runner Soundtrack Yahoo Group by Zhora which did include a new rip of the last track since the version originally uploaded was corrupted and full of pops. Hence two versions for the same track. That might be verified quite easily... 19 Rachel Sleeping-Escape-End Titles (modified on 19/03/2010) is the new rip...
You can safely dispose of the 19 End Titles.
My idea is that, if people can download this music for free, then there won't be any need to pay idiot prices on eBay.
And I still thank him for what he has done. :)
Regarding the 2019 Edition the maker (which might not be the person who cleverly crafted these versions perhaps) did market different versions of the same release.
The first being the Blade Runner - The Theatrical Version (
http://www.anunna.net/vangelis-rarities/newsite.php?methode=methode1&id=168), then the more expanded Blade Runner - 2019 Edition (
http://www.anunna.net/vangelis-rarities/newsite.php?methode=methode1&id=170) followed up. Trying to shop for The Theatrical Version would have got you the latest modification of the 2019 Edition at some point.
At least 3 different versions of the latter made the rounds on eBay, each containing different edits of some of the tracks. The only noteworthy edit is the one that was also replicated on the EMS for the Thinking Of Rachel scene sequence.
The original artworks contained some spelling mistakes. The ones included in the archive are the ones redesigned by JacKc. Our topic starter has kindly made quite a big effort to make them as most of us should have liked them in the first place.
I'll never thank him enough matter of fact. ;)
Somehow all of these informations got lost in the making it seems... For future reference please do keep a record of what was done if possible... A quick "Save As" of this page (as for everything you might download in the future) will do... :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkrKafvJDxw)
I would have bought it if it was in black vinyl which retains more quality after repeated listenings. Red vinyl will deteriorate considerably compared to black vinyl...
All vinyl is colored unless its clear... yes thats correct all "Black" vinyl has dye added to it... so color is irrelevant to sound quality...it's all about the source material, mastering, quality of vinyl pellets used, quality of pressing equipment and pressing operator, etc... this LP is being pressed by QRP so the quality or pressing and sound will be first rate.
The guy seems to have a good point though I still would have liked the standard Black dye. It's just that most of my colored vinyls are kipple now. I do hope he is right about that...
They have been using a 24 bit and 48 kHz master... which might be a new transfer made directly from the master but at a higher resolution compared to the one used for the 1994 release.
Comparing it to the original vinyl cut should be quite revealing I'm guessing. :)

I am passing on that... This is getting like The Dark Side Of The Moon... which I stopped buying after having 4 different versions... and I always listen to the very first pressing because of the expanded dynamic range... but if you are living in a place which has a spare room for a decent amplifier and modest speakers... and some spare time to sit and enjoy some music without having to expect the baby jumping at you in the middle of the listening experience... then the Super Audio CD (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Audio_CD) experience is just fine. The only room I could afford to spare is piled up with books, vinyls, tapes and cd/dvd's I'm afraid! :)

I wish this would be in multichannel, but I doubt it.
Well, a multichannel mix of the soundtrack does exist. It was done at the time. It was a 4 channel mix, but it was never really used. For the same reasons the whole soundtrack has never seen any official release, that mix has suffered the same doom though at the time you might only have enjoyed it in a cinema.
But here we are talking about something different compared to what Vangelis has chosen to release and Warner does not have the rights to release that even if it physically owns the masters.
Blade Runner was going to be presented in cinemas with Dolby Stereo sound and using a 4-channel mix of the soundtrack. A 4-track master tape machine was rented so that any music mixes needing 4-channel mixes could be delivered on a 4-track tape.
I was actually curious is if the soundtrack on the bluray release is multichannel or stereo. Or if anyone has remixed it in multichannel dts as they have for other artists.
I cannot grasp the exact meaning of what you are asking but the soundtrack on the blu-ray is standard Dolby Digital (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolby_Digital). Both 5.1 (multichannel) or 2.0 (stereo) depending on the cuts. DTS (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DTS_(sound_system)) is just another type of lossy compression, slighty better of the counterpart, but the result will not be that much different. It was used only on the Workprint to preserve as much of the original quality which was not as good as the other cuts on the previous Blu-ray release.
Blade Runner: 30th Anniversary Collector's Edition (Digibook) (
http://www.amornmovie.com/shop/home/product-details.php?get_idproduct=00000027706)
The Final Cut: Dolby Digital TrueHD 5.1 - English, Dolby Digital 5.1 - English, Francais
Three Archival Version: Dolby Digital 5.1 - English, Dolby Digital 2.0 - English, Francais
Workprint: Dolby Digital 5.1 DTS - English
Some of the content is shifted on the rear channels though some parts, especially in the Workprint, present different layers of the same track distributed on the five (plus one) channels.

I think it is very unfortunate that there is much demand for a complete soundtrack score and it isn't made available. What is their angle regarding this? To release bits and pieces of it throughout the years?
Unfortunately the only complete soundtrack are the versions you might have found also here. The people who worked on them did a very good job regarding the subject. Surely something is missing but it is as much complete as we might ever hope to get... for the time being. I must confess I am pretty happy with what we're having anyway! :)
What is their angle regarding this? To release bits and pieces of it throughout the years?
I'm afraid they cannot afford to have an angle deeper than the one they were granted to have from the composer himself. The 1994 edition was officially rushed because of the 1993 bootleg somehow. The 2007 edition was added to complete the same picture frame courtesy of the man himself.
Again for the very same copyright problems the 2007 version could not have all the desired bits and pieces... but that is something that resides with the composer himself and the decisions he made at the time. It took 15 years to change that... it might take as much to lessen it a bit further.
As a matter of fact they are scraping what they are having. Both the Edgar Rothermich soundtrack celebration and The New American Orchestra rendition could only be achieved because of the rights for the publisher to use the score of the music. Only 12 years later we could have a full glimpse into the original score as played by the composer himself. But the publisher has only the rights to publish the actual music as used in the movie (and only in that context) even if it owns the physical masters.
It also has the rights to use the material as published on the 1994 edition and in the 2007 edition... hence the new re-editions.
The composer is the one in power to decide to use his original masters but there are previous agreements made with the publisher(s)... and that makes the matter even trickier...
Whatever the reasons might be for the composer's reluctance to licence a complete score it will have to be him to decide to go ahead in the first place.

Thanks very much for getting the image up! I tried, but I don't know what went wrong. I tried to upload it from my PC first but it said not enough quota or something like that. I'll figure it out next time!
We probably did run into each other on the old board. I was there mainly around the 2007-2008, then just sorta checkin' in since then. I remember the heady days of Sebastien's release along with The Final Mix and Vincente's myriad Sound of Blade Runner versions! By the way, I had some time to read over the threads since signing up before I could actually post, and your chronology is exactly what I have except that I while I was able to grab the 2010 Definitive Edition, the 2009 Edition somehow slipped by me (damn!), and the first I heard of the Limited Edition was right here (damn, damn!). Though I do have a lot of the tracks on the bonus disc, I am dyin' to hear the extended intro suite on that one. Although, the pain of missing those links has been drastically mitigated by the wonderful 29th Anniversary Edition and EMS Recombination!
Well, I have a Rapidshare account (I think), if that's alright? You folks have any preferences for links?
Let's try this again. Here's the back... maybe...

Uploading anything from your PC assumes that you are having a physical space on the server... which users do not usually have I think. So you might safely skip that bit and stick to the usual image host routine which tends to work better over the years. :)

It seems the benefits of upsampling old digital sources will remain yet to be heard unless some audiophile addict can successfully hack an untouched PS3 console.
Nevertheless, you will want to check beforehand the only possible outcome of something you have already bought once before.

“This concert version the Blade Runner soundtrack is an orchestral tribute to the sci-fi noir classic originally created by Vangelis. The Heritage Orchestra were first invited by the Southbank Centre and Massive Attack to create a performance of this music for the Meltdown Festival 2008 at the Royal Festival Hall. More recently it has been developed with new additional orchestrations by Tom Trapp, and new visuals by Matt Watkins for the Vivid LIVE festival at the Sydney Opera House where it received rave reviews.
It is the first time a live cover version of Vangelis' classic soundtrack as a live orchestral concert has been produced and the Heritage Orchestra's version has been hailed a triumph by the UK and Australian press.
The global appeal of Vangelis' evocative and haunting score, combined with the cult following of Ridley Scott's film, and the unique musical approach of the Heritage Orchestra makes this a unique event for concert halls and large venues with a capacity of 1500+.
The sound is created with a minimum 30-piece orchestra that combines strings, synthesizers, sound effects, percussion, singers and instrumental soloists.
The performance does not involve a screening of the film, but features an evocative lighting and visual projections. Once combined with the live score, the effect is to immerse the audience in a sonic and visual experience that transports them into the dark and atmospheric world of Blade Runner.
Blade Runner Replica is a truly unique orchestral production exclusively available through Flying Giant. It is an unofficial tribute to the original soundtrack and does not feature Vangelis.”

“The smoky, futuristic world of Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner was brought viscerally to life last night at London’s Royal Festival Hall. One of the more intriguing programme additions at this year’s ‘Meltdown Festival’, this live performance of ‘Vangelis’ Soundtrack to Blade Runner’ attracted quite a crowd. Those who took the plunge and came along to the event were treated to a stunning display of musical performance by the Heritage Orchestra who faithfully recreated, with live mixing by festival curators Massive Attack, the music of the original soundtrack album – minus the dialogue.
Even before the concert-proper commenced, we were immersed in the performance space; dark, shadowy and billowing smoke, we knew this wasn’t to be your average concert experience. On a screen overhead archive images of Vangelis working on the score in his studio were cut together with footage from the film, while the air around us was permeated with drones and heartbeat effects, the room felt as though it were living. Gradually performers began to take their seats on the shadowy stage, and all of a sudden the performance began without fanfare or introduction; in fact the sounds we’d been hearing as we waited were the introduction.
From the heart-pounding tympani rolls that pre-empted the ‘Main Titles’, I knew that this was going to be something special and indeed not your average film music concert, nor your average orchestra. Everything about it was unconventional, apt considering Vangelis’ approach to scoring films and the resulting music. The strings (which, while live, were treated in the mix and sounded otherworldly), harp and piano were positioned at the rear of the stage, seemingly in darkness; while the percussionists, synthesists and alike performed along the front. It was an unusual set-up; however, the latter group played such an integral role in the piece that their positioning front and centre meant you could really see that all the Vangelis-like nuances were real and performed. Among the shadows, before slatted panels that glittered with clusters of light and numbers, the ensemble worked as one; a breathing musical organism creating wonderful sounds, sounds that at times hit you between the eyes, dived into your soul and burned themselves on your memory.
It’s difficult to pluck highlights from the gapless performance; however the solo performances by Janey Miller on Oboe d’amoure and Tom Richards on Alto Sax were very special. The latter of course shone in ‘Love Theme’, the most recognisable piece for the unfamiliar, and the first to elicit applause (very difficult to know when to clap when there are few definitive breaks in the music!). More applause came for the vocal numbers, with Guy Garvey performing ‘One More Kiss, Dear’ (always an amusing, though enjoyable, adjunct to the rest of the music), while Vashti Bunyan and Omar Ebrahim provided wonderfully earthy and ethereal vocals in ‘Rachel’s Song’ and ‘Tales of the Future’ respectively – highlights both.
The ‘Blade Runner (End Titles)’ came round all too quickly, though it was a barnstorming performance, and one of my favourite Vangelis compositions, which garnered a decidedly riotous response from the crowd. With the sound of falling rain came of course ‘Tears in the Rain’ and a return to the chilled, twinkling soulfulness of all that came before. The audience went wild, bows were taken and ‘more’ was cried for… but no more came. We didn’t really know what to expect upon going in, but in the end it absolutely did what it said on the tin – an hour (ish) of some of the most visceral film music, by one of the idiom’s most identifiable voices. It was perhaps all too short (I could have gone for another half hour at least!), but the performance was so intricately orchestrated – indeed those performers at the front spent the entire time running from one instrument to the next to hit their points – it was perhaps all they could muster. Blade Runner has been done on stage before, but I don’t think any of those interpretations would stand up to what took place at Meltdown last night; it was simply extraordinary – Vangelis would have been proud.”

'Tonight is a bit of an experiment,' explains Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja, visibly nervous during the opening performance of the Meltdown festival. 'It's about making it up as we go along.' Taking risks is part of Meltdown's ethos and though the curators don't spring any radical surprises - their new material shares the mood of 1998's Mezzanine, evoking the onset of a very tasteful paranoia attack - nor do they deliver a greatest hits set.
Having fulfilled their 'contractual obligations' (the enduringly gorgeous 'Unfinished Sympathy'), they finish with a dense and atmospheric new song 'Dobro', Del Naja's crisp whisper set to keyboards and acoustic guitar. It bodes well for a chilly future.
Three nights later, Del Naja looks more comfortable, lurking behind the mixing desk as the Heritage Orchestra perform Vangelis's classic soundtrack to Blade Runner, newly re-scored from the original keyboard parts. The Greek composer's music invites a certain pretentiousness from audience and performers alike, and tonight has the feel of what beatniks used to describe as 'a happening'. The air in the Festival Hall is thick with incense, Damon Albarn and Aphex Twin are in attendance, and two men leak water into a miked-up plastic box to create the sound of rainfall as we take our seats.
But where the Heritage Orchestra succeed brilliantly is in embracing the more esoteric elements of the work without compromising its rich, haunting atmosphere. As four percussionists tinker away like mad professors - one bowing something that looks like a 16th-century nautical instrument, another coaxing great swirling gusts of sound from a wind machine - the soundtrack's more familiar moments take on new life.
The sultry saxophone part of the famous 'Love Theme' induces a flood of serotonin-like warmth. The wordless vocals of 'Rachel's Song', delivered by Vashti Bunyan, are beautifully understated. And baritone Omar Ebrahim produces a series of startling throaty tics on 'Tales of the Future', as the score draws towards its close. The Heritage Orchestra's great achievement is to put flesh on the bones of a score so otherworldly.

“This evening is a performance of Vangelis' score for the film Blade Runner. Although it includes visual elements it does not include a screening or footage from the film.
A part-electronic, part-symphonic spectacle described as 'jaw-dropping' (Time Out London), Vivid LIVE presents the Australian debut of the 45-piece Heritage Orchestra – performing Blade Runner's retro-futuristic score in a stunning visual backdrop engulfed by the film's signature, dystopian ambiance.
A chart-topping soundtrack that took a decade to release, was rumoured to exist in 20 different versions and won a reputation as influential and mythical as its cinema counterpart – Vangelis' synthetic and symphonic response to Ridley Scott's 1982 cult classic has become a masterpiece in its own right. Cementing the Greek composer's status as a genius of electronic music, the maestro himself finally blessed a live reinterpretation of the score after 30 years laying dormant – a momentous occasion rapturously received as part of the Southbank Centre’s Meltdown Festival in 2008.
From signature motifs such as 'Love Theme's' haunting saxophone solo and Mary Hopkin's angelic vocals on 'Rachel's Song' to the starkly romantic synthesizers of 'Blade Runner Blues', Vangelis' score has proved an enduring influence to the electronic vanguard, the latest of which includes Los Angeles progressive beat-maker Flying Lotus. Now making its Australian premiere at Vivid LIVE, the Heritage Orchestra will once again illuminate a score that has transcended its troubled past into something truly mythical.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“In 2008 the orchestra took every experience it had and put it to use on the first ever live orchestral reinterpretation of Vangelis' soundtrack to Blade Runner. What was once an electronic score, created entirely on synthesisers by Vangelis, was orchestrated and brought to life for Massive Attack's Meltdown Festival at the Royal Festival Hall with guest vocalists Guy Garvey, Vashti Bunyan, and Omar Ebrahim.
Led by orchestral producer Chris Wheeler, plus a crack team of orchestrators, fastidious synthesiser programmers, technical crew, and visuals from the United Visual Artists, the show was a groundbreaking success, and a highlight of the festival.
“The smoky, futuristic world of Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner was brought viscerally to life... a stunning display of musical performance by the Heritage Orchestra... “The film score to Ridley Scott's 1982 classic Blade Runner was always more than a fanfare for Harrison Ford's on-screen heroics. Eerie and ambient, Vangelis's soundtrack stood alone as a beautiful piece of work.
Rightly so, then, that the Royal Festival Hall was packed on the fourth night of the Meltdown festival to hear the Heritage Orchestra's rendering of the Greek composer's masterpiece, as mixed by curators Massive Attack.
Rumbling percussion and rising strings evoked the film's nightmarish vision of a dystopian future. Damon Albarn, who was among the spellbound audience, must have been smiling knowingly at this kingdom of doom.
He may even have tapped his foot, as drums and electric bass entered the mix. In its eerie groove, it was easy to see why Vangelis's score has been cited as the precursor to trip-hop - the downbeat electronic music made famous by Massive Attack in the early Nineties.
Attention flittered during the sparser moments of the evening, as one remembered that part of Blade Runner's appeal came from its script as well as its score. For the main part, though, the music was more than enough. The film' s most famous track, The Love Theme - to which Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) and Rachael (Sean Young) put their genetic differences aside for a night of human/replicant love - was a smouldering soundscape of warm bass and wailing saxophone.
Few could describe Guy Garvey as smouldering but Elbow's burly frontman didcroon beautifully over the jazzy skip of One More Kiss, Dear. If his band keep underachieving, a glittering career on the jazz circuit may yet beckon. He'd have to tuck in his shirt, mind.
More than shirts were flailing for Blade Runner (End Titles), as conductor Jules Buckley led his troops to a triumphant finale with a flurry of arm movements that wouldn't have been out of place at one of Massive Attack's live shows.
As the Heritage Orchestra bowed as one, the crowd applauded what they had seen: five-star, on-stage heroics.”

VANGELIS - BLADE RUNNER (1994) (2013 Audio Fidelity SACD AFZ 154 44.1KHz 16bit) (LOSSLESS) + SCANS
Source is Hybrid SACD, but this is 'just' the CD layer (
44.1KHz/16bit) in lossless FLAC with .cue
"...one of the most memorable and important soundtracks in movie history."
The BLADE RUNNER soundtrack was composed by Vangelis for Ridley Scott's 1982 film considered one of the finest sci-fi movies ever made. It is mostly a dark, melodic combination of classical compositions and synthesizers which mirrors the futuristic film noir envisioned by Scott. The soundtrack holds legendary status and at the time was well-received by fans and critics including Best Original Score nominations for a BAFTA and Golden Globe yet, except for a few cuts, it was not released until 1994.
The movie remains a classic film with a long list of popular movie stars including Harrison Ford, Daryl Hannah, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, and Edward James Olmos most of whom appear on this hybrid SACD in movie dialog samples mixed into the 12 tracks of nearly one hour of music. Vangelis makes each track flow into one another. The soundtrack features vocal contributions from Demis Roussos and the sax solo by Dick Morrissey on "Love Theme." The colorful 12-page booklet includes many stills from the film. BLADE RUNNER is a timeless classic on film and now on hybrid.

I thought I was doing pretty good. I had found the Esper, Los Angeles November 2019, Gongo, Trilogy 25th Anniversary 3CD Special Edition and "Decker"(which I think is an insignificant mod of Gongo) versions . . . but now, I need more disc space. Of course I only listen to Esper and 2019.
My perfect set is EMS Recombination, Esper, Gongo, and Los Angeles 2019. I think they all complement each other perfectly and each provides something the others don't. If I had to choose just one it would be - no contest - EMS. Gongo was my first, purchased as a CD off eBay. Those were the bad old days - thanks again to everyone here who has provided new hosting for this great music and continued to keep the flame burning!

The link should include also the artworks... which are the same of the 1994 version but in slighty less better quality.
I was actually talking about the BSX CD by Edgar Rothermich. There was a link to the booklet earlier in this thread, but it's dead, Jim! ;-) I have the tracks, I was just curious to read the booklet that came with it. No big if there isn't a live link any more.
And once again, thank you for all the help and for your generosity in sharing and creating all that you do, DC! You've done a man's job, sir! ;-)

Thanks for sharing! The only problem however is there's so many to choose from! lol I need help!
I know its divided into Official and Bootlegged soundtracks, but are they all made by the original artist (Vangelis)? If so that is awesome but is there any big difference between them all? (are most the same with different names, are some just extended versions, etc)
Which one(s) do I go for for the full, complete soundtrack including:
The official, unofficial (ripped), and re-mastered tracks all made by Vangelis (not other artists who just remade the tracks) without sound effects?
I'm not familiar with the Blade Runner ost so please excuse the confusion. :P
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned here already and I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right thread, but there's an upcoming tribute album by a musician called Analog Sweden. His goal is to create an album inspired by Blade Runner. He uses the very same equipment that Vangelis used. The album will be called Moments Lost. So far it sounds amazing! I've never heard any musician that could recreate that Blade Runner vibe so well. Just take a listen for yourself on his SoundCloud page. (

Here's his IndieGoGo campaign. (

I'm afraid Vangelis has not ventured into re-mastering the Blade Runner soundtrack as far as I am aware. Let's pray any extra coat of reverb won't be added the day he'll decide to do so... :)

I remember the days when you had to give up going to the cinema and asking your friends to share a packet of cigarette and everything because you just could not spare a cent to pay off for the studio and everything...
Now it turned into something different... I do not personally endorse crowdfunding...
From what I could hear there's still plenty of (production) work to do on the tracks. The flow of the music is nice anyway and I wish the composer to succeed in his project.
Thanks for the link! I'll definitely go for the digital download package when it is out! ;)

DC, I am wondering if you could post a mock-up of what the 29th Anniversary set would look like in physical form. I've been enjoying it for some time now, and decided I want to make a disc set. However, the album artwork is very long and looks as though it should be tri-folded. Was it designed to fit in a jewel case? Or is it supposed to be a sort of custom box set? Thank you for any insight, DC.

The original artwork created by Pendor was designed to fit into a couple of standard clear double cd jewel cases. The white one for cd 1 and cd 2, the black one for cd 3 and cd 4.
The alternate artwork created by JacKc was designed to fit into a single quad 4 disc black cd jewel case. :)
Both Pendor and JacKc have done an outstanding work on such regard...
If you work in a toner shop and have access to a proper printer you might get away with it... but once they will realize a couple of very expensive toners are missing and you dried out the printer you'll be in deep trouble! ;)

I have a nice Epson photo printer that uses Claria inks, so it should render nicely. I just have to track down some nice photo paper that can accommodate the extra long artwork. Once I get all my hens in order, I'll post some nice photos.

Looking over the tracks the one that sticks out is "The Blue Room" which makes me think "EMS Recombination"? However, you are most correct that it would seem that it comes from many sources like the "edit" tracks: Ensemble Nipponia – Ogi No Mato [Edit] & Michio Miyagi – Chidori No Kyoku [Edit]. As you said, much from the Trilogy as well. That's another thing that I love about the Blade Runner Soundtrack - another one pops up about every other month. lol!

I wouldn't have a problem with that if it meant new material gets leaked w/ every version, but lately most of what pops up is the same old material repackaged and regurgitated (the exception being the 30th anniversary edition)
Times like this, I really wish that the score had a CD single of exclusive tracks, like the Conquest of Paradise CD single

I too think that this one might have been "inspired" by the EMS Recombination. The traditional "Chidori No Kyoku" track was tipped by a nice Japanese fan, but it was B5historyman that went through every other version out there and ID'ed the track to Michio Miyagi eventually. Also "The Blue Room" title appears to have been introduced in the EMS as well...
Still, I'd like to have a listen at the edits the makers did... but they do not seem too keen on making other people listening to their work perhaps.

Your insight is very appreciated. Love your posts, DC. The one thing I forgot to mention is that the "copyright" year for this one is 2012, which would make me believe, as well, that the makers used the EMS Recombination as their "inspiration".

Hello! I'm new here, but I am a long-time, rabid fan of all things Blade Runner.
As for the soundtrack, I have been collecting (amassing!), organizing, cataloging, etc. all the versions I could source for years. And then I was led here...
And I have been humbled!
Thank you all for your invaluable contributions to this thread and all things BR-related. I have been cruising these threads a lot lately and managed to grab many of the releases mentioned here through various sources (NOT the 'bay).
For the moment, I have been focused on the game soundtracks. Does anyone have a decent copy of this? Blade Runner - Westwood Game OST Original Sound Track Games (DownloadOst.com) (
http://www.downloadost.com/Ost-2009-10-26-892-blade-runner-westwood-game-ost.html)
I have a few versions, but none have all 30 tracks as this one does. That being said, is it OK to make requests here? I would of course be happy to share as well.
BTW, does anyone actually have every single release mentioned in this list???
http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/blade-runner-soundtracks-ultimate-thread-72496/35.html#post1978528
Also, something else I'm curious about right now: Is "10 Tracks From Master Tape" (which I have):
http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/do-androids-dream-lossless-audio-files-blade-75274/20.html
the same as "Ten Tracks from the Master Tape" (which I can't find anywhere)?

The comments indicate this is a repack, but it looks like it has been cleaned up as well?
That's all for now.

I have a few versions, but none have all 30 tracks as this one does.
There is nothing like a 30 tracks version of it. There is a mono version (turned in a fake stereo version with a number of tricks if needed) originating from Westwood PC game and a stereo version freely streaming from the official Frank Klepacki site.
In a way or another you are already having what other people might ever offer in tampering with the subject really.

Blade Runner - Replicant Edition 2010 WillDekkard [25 tracks]
You should ask the maker! The poster a couple of posts above i believe! ;)
Blade Runner - Black Edition [106'04 26 tracks]
Blade Runner - White Edition [77'06 26 tracks]
Yet another repackaging of something you do have.
Blade Runner - Deck Art Box version 2001 [72'38 27 tracks]
Same of Deck Art.
Blade Runner - Blade Runner, Cliffhanger & Radio Plays [29'30 + 3'39 + 29'31 (62'40) 13 + 1 + 2 tracks (16 tracks)]
Flung it away at the time. All the bits there I always had. So you should have them as well.
Blade Runner - Ten Tracks From The Master Tape 2010
Same versions of the cues that made it into the Off-World edition. A different generation tape with not much bass frequencies anyway.
Most of the above was always shared as lossy anyway. That I'm having.
Could I ask in exchange to re-upload some of the archives that were here at some point and went deleted from the original servers?
Every effort will correspond to one of the above. :)

Are all links dead?
I'm afraid most of them are... but have a look from time to time to see if anything is re-upped.
Something is still there anyway... have a look below. :)
So is there a "proper" DC version of the game soundtrack coming?
Yes. Coming end of June along the 29th Anniversary / EMS Recombinations outtakes.
I'll see for the best quality of the other originals of the game soundtrack you're after in the meantime.
As for re-uploading, I would be happy to put some up! What service do you typically use for sharing here?
I will say that everything I have now, I didn't get directly from here, but likely from people who did.
Once a release went into my library, I would clean up and format all the tags in a uniform fashion to avoid clutter and confusion.
The actual audio will be the same, but the tags may be slightly different.
Any ideas for which releases are most desired and not currently available?
Shall we start with page 1 of this thread? Anything on there (meaning not there anymore) might be quite appreciated as you might see. :)
I would say DepositFiles (
http://dfiles.eu), MediaFire (
http://www.mediafire.com/) or even better Mega (
http://www.mega.co.nz/) which are not universally banned on most countries as Uploaded (
http://www.uploaded.net/) for example.
Do make sure to use initials for the full names of what you wish to upload. Most servers seem to be "allergic" on long and detailed file names resulting in internal server purges as it is always the case. I trust you got the message. :)
If the new peers are quite lucky they might have a couple of weeks time before the links are blown down. Then we're back to square one.
For this reason all links will be moved to ed2k network in due time eventually. The Esper links are still there after all.
I'd like to stress that the original soundtrack is widely available virtually everywhere... so there is no need to make some people angrier and busier then they are willing to be. Roger that? ;)
Fantastic list of soundtracks. I've seen a couple of them on the internet, but never knew there was this many. Unfortunately I see some won't ever be released. Too bad.
If they were not all released it was because they did not add much to the subject perhaps... though some of them are clearly interesting in my opinion. It was given permissions by some of the makers to include those bits on the 29th Anniversary / EMS Recombinations outtakes anyway.
Where can I download the EMS recombinations cds everyone talks about how good it is but there is no working link anywhere I can find?? Help anyone??
Vangelis - Blade Runner: EMS Recombination [Definitive 3 Disc Edition + Bonus Disc] (2011) (

Also have a look at Mr. X (

All people actively posting (meaning the ones making an effort to make it nice for everybody (like Otty (

Sorry to resolve to the harsh way but when something was download nearly a thousand times already I'd like to make sure the ones who're helping do get a bit more.
That means the remaining hundreds of grab-and-click-as-you-pop might be disappointed for a chance... Oh well, if that means I deserve a warmer place in Hell I might as well give the guys down there a good reason for that! :)

You know, I probably don't have as extensive a collection as some of you guys, but what I do have for the time being (read : I rent it by the month, so it may disappear suddenly because... Well, not everything I use it for is completely legal) is a dedicated server with 1 gbps bandwith.
I may as well upload a couple BR-related stuff.
I'll look into it sometime soon but please be warned that, likewise deckard2019, I have edited the tags so the files data may differ a little (hash and stuff). Audio itself remain untouched, though.
I'll let you know.

The 29th Anniversary and the EMS Recombination seem to be quite "masterpiece's" from what I'm seeing since I've joined. Are they available for listening?
Also, are any of these available? Or a review of them? The titles sound like they would be interesting to hear.

In March of this year (2002) I was contacted by Rob Daniels, host of the Canadian radio program 'Visions in Sound'.
Rob had read my article concerning the Blade Runner Soundtrack that the folks of BladeZone had been kind enough to publish on their site.
He had some questions regarding the Blade Runner Soundtrack that he was researching in order to produce a special program to air in June.
I was happy to answer his questions, and when he asked me to sit for an interview for the program (ham that I am) I was happy to oblige.
The program aired on June 14th, 2002 and was simultaneously webcast but I was traveling on that date and was unable to listen.
Rob was generous enough to send me a CD copy of the broadcast and to allow me to share it with the readers of BladeZone.
I hope you enjoy it.
Length of program (edited for BladeZone (
http://www.bladezone.com/)) 56 minutes
Encoded at 22khz / 96kbps / dual mono
Full-length music tracks from the 1994 release have been reduced to 30-second excerpts.
When the maker wrote that the full-length version of the radio program on cd wasn't that different compared to the 96kbps encode he had uploaded... I'm afraid he was quite right....
Now he's also getting a custom artwork along a well-deserved 'thank you'! ;)

Question..regarding the Blade Runner "Retirement Edition" I've seen that disc 6 is a DVD-ROM/ISO. Does anybody know what that format is all about? Can it only work on a PC and not a MAC? Do you need any kind of software to listen to it? I see that all tracks on it won't fit on a standard CD-R.
Any info?

I don't know about mac, only windows - In order to "convert" an ISO file you will need to install software like "Virtual Clone Drive". In simple terms it tricks your computer in believing you have another disk drive in which you can play that virtual disk.
Disc 6 has 174 tracks and can only be burnt to a DVD or several, no many CDs. Did you try Mr.X, I believe that download had a mix of mp3s and Flac files for Disc 6? . . . ?

I'm afraid the real "masterpieces" will have to be the unreleased tape reels at Warner Studios vaults as a matter of fact. :)
For the 29th Anniversary have a look at Mr. X (
http://misterekis.blogspot.ca/) blog... (and every other single post on this thread as a rule of thumb...)
It is still being shared on the ed2k network also. Have a look at the Scifi.dead-donkey topic. (
http://scifi.dead-donkey.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5080)
For the rest of the releases keep an eye on the thread. In time everything will be reupped hopefully.
Not everything is worth reupping though. Blade Runner - Struzan UK Edition was a repackaging of the Blade Runner 20th Anniversary Edition using an unused movie poster artwork by Drew Struzan as cover for example.
Basically the 29th Anniversary is the proper version of that because everything was levelled out. That was the starting point actually! :)
Have a look at the Discogs (
http://www.discogs.com/Vangelis-Blade-Runner-29th-Anniversary-Limited-Edition/release/3784778) page for more info. We will be seeing for the 2002's 20th Anniversary Edition anyway.
The Sound Of Blade Runner is a beast on its own. One of the best jobs to date.
Both The Chinatown Club - Blade Runner Compilation and the M Presents: Music From Movies - Blade Runner were compilation of other bootlegs. The former had its own special cues anyway.
I should have a go at the chronological papers we have compiled on the Blade Runner Soundtrack Yahoo group one of these days. Time...

About ISO image on Wikipedia (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_image)
It is just another way of storing data really. Both Mac and Windows compatible in most cases. You can either burn 6 different cd's... or burn a single dvd. I'd stick to the latter. You won't want being flooded with cd's after a couple of years downloading stuff really. ;)
I have always been happy with the two disc version (I mean, enough is enough) created by someone named Spider. Excellent sound and the full score.
The one you are referring to is the 2010 Blade Runner Complete Score by Spiderwalk. Excellent sound indeed! :)

For those who want even more Blade Runner-esque music:
- A tribute album currently in the making by AnalogSweden can be found on their Soundcloud page with one full track and some snippits.

- An improvisation by Vangelis himself on a synthesizer, done in 1982 at the Nemo Studios, that's right, same place and time where the score for Blade Runner was created. Very rare recording from a Spanish television station.

So uploads' lifespan is a concern. The way I get it, links periodically die, as they should because, well, it's DDL after all and we all know how these things work.
Do you guys think we should consider an alternate solution, namely starting sharing through the torrent network ?
I understand there are cons :
- broader dispersion of the content
- authors' approval
- "hit&run" and, ultimately, possible availability issues, again
About hit&run, it's not even that people will be "bad" on purpose, just that the slighest modification to the files messes up a torrent's hash (I'm mainly thinking about tags and naming there, which I guess most users change to fit their own rules), thus not counting the user as a seeder. I know I keep an untouched version of files I intend on seeding, but not everyone can afford the necessary extra disk space, I'm perfectly aware of that.
I started packing zip files and uploading them to my box, then I realized it would once more constitute a unique source, hence leaving an empty spot when it dies (as I don't doubt it will at some point). Plus, I already use this server as a torrent seedbox, so I figured why not go the same way with BR content ?
Further problem is : which tracker should we use, supposing we pick this torrent option ?
PirateBay is indeed very popular, with the usual good and bad consequences of such fame.
A private tracker ? It may prove quite unwise, since not everybody will be able to retrieve the files, by design.
What are your thoughts on the matter ?

We have been through this hell several times before and since people cannot be around all the time to re-feed always the same things again and again my only solution to the problem is going back to eMule where everything has started.
I have no idea why anyone of you guys would edit the tags so meticulously planned (on my side of course), but I take that if anyone changed anything I might have gotten not that right or whatever and I am curious to hear about it in case.
Torrent? When you have no seeders left you are back to square one. The original Esper is still on eMule as it was shared.

Tracker is not an issue. The question you should ask is if that kind of exposure will be convenient really.
Most of the uploads here were taken down (along with the uploaders' account in some cases) by the relative copyright holders because they did include some content they were (and are currently) selling. So if you go public on PirateBay the next day everyone will know where to start to take matters legally. The more you go in the open the more you are doomed to stumble in the copyright issues... and the eBayers smartholes selling it as rareties as an unplanned side effect.
Even if most people will get here after buying the soundtrack from them copyright holders or will end up buying the soundtrack because of what they were able to get here I'm afraid they do have the right to do whatever in their power to look after their making a living off that.
World is like that, we cannot change it. We might be more permissive about what is their right and what is more fair but the struggle is everlasting on that side...
Ed2k network does not work as a torrent network and it is more durable in time...
Torrent is the second best option, but the new generation is the one who will have to decide how to preserve things. The way they are doing it is simply not working as you can see from the requests for the very same things every time.
Hopefully someone might still be here to help if needed and in case of a torrent we'd like to supervise the tagging issues if that is not asking much! :)
All the infos are here for the proper tags afterall! ;)

We have been through this hell several times before and since people cannot be around all the time to re-feed always the same things again and again my only solution to the problem is going back to eMule where everything has started.
What are the benefits of eMule over torrent ?
The way I get it, it's only that it has a built-in search engine but, apart from that, it gathers a much less important userbase, and the protocol itself is scarcely used anymore.
I have no idea why anyone of you guys would edit the tags so meticulously planned (on my side of course), but I take that if anyone changed anything I might have gotten not that right or whatever and I am curious to hear about it in case.
There are plenty of reasons. And I do mean plenty.
For instance, I do not use the "disk number" tag myself and, as a custom, I usually get rid of it. I then name the Album evenly (no "disc 1", "disc 2" stuff, just the plain title of the album). For multi-discs material, I number my audio tracks for the whole album (don't start again at 1 for each separate disc). You could also consider the case of those peculiar with the leading zero(s) before track numbers.
Then there's the "genre" tag, which is almost as personal as a toothbrush. I know almost as many "genre" sorting systems as I know people storing digital music.
For albums with multiple artists, some people will use the "main" artist for the "album artist" tag (in this particular case, Vangelis), some will favour the usual "Various Artists" one.
I don't even want to mention capitalization habits, because that'll become plain insane, but there's that.
And the list goes on. I could talk about Volume leveling, for instance.
All in all, it's not as much a question of knowing whether some people will change the tags, as knowing whether two people have ANY chance of keeping the same ones. In my opinion, the odds are quite low. Hope lies in those who, like me, will keep two separate copies : one for sharing over the torrent network, one for daily use and listening.

Yeah well, that's quite right... But the same goes for eMule, unless I'm mistaken.
And even if there's always the risk of 0 peers remaining, it's still better than a unique uploader/server (as is the case with direct download links).

I hear you perfectly, and whole-heartedly agree. In fact, that's exactly what I meant by the bad consequences of TPB's fame.
Torrent is the second best option, but the new generation is the one who will have to decide how to preserve things. The way they are doing it is simply not working as you can see from the requests for the very same things every time.

Yeah, "ownership" is an issue.
Asking the original authors/uploaders may prove tricky, as can be the task to retrieve the original tags and stuff (for example, I do not keep album art except for a single front cover, stored in the tags directly -yet another possible tag issue, by the way- and delete booklet images and such).
Maybe then we should leave the task up to these "owners", to initiate P2P alternatives.
And us "simple users" could share whatever we have, whatever way we can.
I think that, for the time being, I'll upload and offer direct download links, with the music in such state as I have it on my storage unit (custom tags, file naming etc.).
If that's a problem, I'll simply remove them.
And when they die, they die.
Thanks you so much for posting this thread - my favourite is the 2001 edition.

The way I get it, it's only that it has a built-in search engine but, apart from that, it gathers a much less important userbase, and the protocol itself is scarcely used anymore.
The only benefit of eMule is durability over time since it is way slower to get stuff from the ed2k userbase and more peers will join in the meantime making the chances of 0 seeders less scarce.
If we will be starting posting ed2k links only I trust you will be seeing quite an increase in the userbase numbers.
There are plenty of reasons. And I do mean plenty.

Let's simply put it like that without debating further on the subject. The way we always tagged things (on my side of course) will always leave plenty, and I do mean plenty, of room for you to further edit whatever you please according to your preferences. A boxset for example is made of different discs and a lossy backup will have to reflect that for example. If an artist does take care of separating tracks and flow of his work of art I will rather not altering that and disagree with the way you will be opting to use, but if you have your reasons to do that... do as it is more convinient to you.
For most of the uploads here all the infos were there for the end user when storing the archive.
That's exactly why I never use the "album artist" tag. If you were to join on Discogs you might hear what they think of capitalization habits surely. :)
What I am trying to say is to simply stick to the basic rules of tagging like it always was before being still free to change it all after.
I'll opt for the former, but let's hear it from the ones who click-and-go for a chance.
Yeah well, that's quite right... But the same goes for eMule, unless I'm mistaken.
And even if there's always the risk of 0 peers remaining, it's still better than a unique uploader/server (as is the case with direct download links).
Because it is slower to upload it will be slower to die away and in the meantime other peers will join in the seed and leech game. There is more time for this to actually happen compared to a torrent. It took us years to get what it will take all the rest of you just a bunch of hours. Still you will eventually get to the 0 peers issue. When they die, they die. It just takes longer.

Since we are talking about the internet I'd rather leave that ending with a "t" considering that anyone will eventually do whatever they please about the stuff they are able to get.

Oh. This is quite the first time I saw such a theory, but I suppose it could make sense somehow.
Trouble is, there's not only the issue of the BR-specific userbase, but the whole eMule userbase (which was what I meant, actually). The protocol itself is less and less used.
But yeah, I get your point, there's something in that.
Let's simply put it like that without debating further on the subject. Mh, I think there's some misunderstanding, and that's quite beside the point I was trying to make.
I wasn't pointing any fingers here, and certainly not pretending my choices are better than yours because they may very well not be, for some excellent reasons you listed, especially the artists' intention, as your rightfully put it. It's just that people will usually have it their own way and, in that case, it messes up the hash for torrent files (I'm pretty sure the same goes for eMule files, too).
But yeah, your tags (and most tags, indeed) do let plenty of room for personal convenience.
Sorry if my statement sounded like an accusation or something. It really wasn't intended as such.
Has anyone ever mentioned "ownership"?
Since we are talking about the internet I'd rather leave that ending with a "t" considering that anyone will eventually do whatever they please about the stuff they are able to get.
I did, anyway.
My take on the matter is that, regardless of copyright and stuff, people creating content and people making content available should be given some credit, or else some kind of control over what is done with their work... which is not always theirs, the reason why I used quotes on "ownership".
As you please... as above. :)
Yeah, well.
Bottom line is that, even if I messed up some stuff (mainly discs numbering), I only intend on helping people getting access to stuff which is unavailable at the moment.
It may not be perfect, but I guess (and I certainly do hope) it's better than nothing :)
Again, don't hesitate to let me know if you feel like your work has not been respected, and if you wish links to be taken down. I'll comply with such requests ASAP after reading them !
I meant no disrespect whatsoever, I hope it wasn't perceived that way.

Now more to the point.
I've put a mirror online. It features my personal collection to date, even though it may not be very impressive to the most seasoned, I hope it'll be a good starting point for newcomers.
As I mentioned before, these albums naming and tagging have been tempered with. I edited them to my liking, the main "issues" for some people might be :
- disc numbering has been removed. Instead of "Album X Disc 1 - Files 1 to 13" and "Album X Disc 2 - Files 1 to 11", you'll get "Album X Files 1 to 24"
- album art is reduced to only keeping the front cover, stored in FLAC tags. No back cover, no booklets and no image files
Apart from that, changes I've made should be improvements (better Title tags, consistent naming of files, volume leveling, etc.).
For original artists/uploaders of these albums : please feel free to get in touch and request removal of any given work you feel I've butchered. I'll comply with such requests ASAP after reading them ! We can also talk and see what needs to be improved before getting the content back online.
For users who don't like it : suck it up, and don't download anything. Even more importantly, don't bug me with your opinion (in most cases I probably won't care about it, anyway). Go ahead and offer a better alternative, it'll benefit the community.

All thanks go to the original creators/uploaders of these albums, I'm merely a supplier.

Sorry if my statement sounded like an accusation or something. It really wasn't intended as such.
I meant no disrespect whatsoever, I hope it wasn't perceived that way.
No, really. I never had such impression. As I wrote, I was just curious to hear about how other people were dealing with the issue. Exchanging opinions is quite fine actually. I do things in a different way because I come from the "tape age" perhaps. :)
I'd just like to point out that the "Blade Runner - Special Edition (Mmoires Vol. 7)" might not be the real deal. Only few people might actually have that in lossless format. All copies around are either a clever edit of the original mp3's or one of the two edited "Deck Art" releases shared also here at some point. The "Deck Art" release being a remasterd and expanded version of the Blade Runner - Special Edition as a matter of fact. Easy to spot anyway.
Having said that... thanks for the efforts... it makes our lives much easier! ;)
Might I ask to mirror your post on the
http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/do-androids-dream-lossless-audio-files-blade-75274/39.html#post2552077 as well?
There you might still find a supposed-to-be-lossless version of "Music From Blade Runner - An Orchestral Tribute To The Classic Sci-Fi Noir Soundtrack By Vangelis" and in a few minutes time the "Blade Runner - Director's Cut (Mmoires Vol. 5)" also. :)

Yes. There are a couple of DVD's of that. A preview of what the maker was currently achieving at the time. Disc 1 being his personal cut with added scenes that quite added to the feel of the movie and Disc 2 a bonus disc with the bonus of and extra scenes originally intended as a further additions to the main movie. He has not since let out any other news about the project though. It was never officially shared though there used to be a DivX version of it floating among the die-hard fans out there. The link was purged a while ago anyway... and I still have to find a chance to make a better encode out of it... :(
Have a look at

Download? I think you might want to click on the the name of the maker then. :)
All of the cuts are sort of temporary anyway. The White Dragon Cut and The Version You've Never Seen Before were never finished and eventually shared as torrents. The Ultimate Workprint is currently being re-worked with longer scenes but it was never shared.
I am afraid the torrents are indeed slow to finish but you'd better jump on these while they are still seeded from time to time and leave your torrent client running in the background.
I haven't properly thanked denrock for the help given to a mutual friend who passed them to me. We owe you one. ;)

Hello,
Firstly, thanks to all involved in the fan edits. Fascinating stuff and quite a few different angles to contemplate.
I am currently stuck at 83.6% (along with three other leechers) on "The Version You've Never Seen Before" torrent. Can anybody help out? I'll certainly seed to at least 5:1 once complete.
Thanks in advance.

Oh my... LMS Edition 2001 Remastered 2010... you're talking about stuff that was at some point incorporated in better form in the EMS or the 29th Anniversary, for some tracks at least.
I can see for that... a bit reworked in a better form at some point anyway...
The Special Edition 1998 is the unmastered Deck Art.
Both the AsianWorlds releases were edits of the FIC releases.
The initial 2008 Vicente version was mixed in the Esper vein... everything that followed after 2009 was unmixed and perfectioned along the way and summed up in the Definitive edition.
The Theatrical got incorporated in a better form into the 2019 edition.
Hope it helps. :)

29th Anniversary
They are all different even if all of them are covering the same subject but with their different nuances.
The Vicente Sound Of Blade Runner - Definitive Edition pretty covers it all in its own way. More purist to the cause we might say.
The EMS Recombination was meant as a "best of" of every other bootleg to date and, as it turned out, lot of people seems to like that better.
It has the same purist feel of the Vicente Definitive Edition in a way.
The 29th Anniversary ended up to achieve something different eventually. Everything Blade Runner was packed in there.
With its more surgical take on the subject it's for the more completist fans out there.
As you can see there is plenty to choose from according to everyone's tastes! As Zoran also put it! ;)

I cannot tell much about the 24 tracks version since I never heard that, but it sounds like some extra tracks were added to the original 19 tracks 2019 Edition.
Three different versions of the 2019 edition (four if you're also counting the Theatrical version) were posted here at some point, but all of them are mostly the same with some rather small difference in the edits.
If the maker has expanded his original project, or someone else attempted to make it more complete adding up other cues, I cannot tell.
But I'd rather opt for the latter as a matter of fact.
The 24 tracks versions you are referring to should be the version made up by an eBuy seller based in Austria. I'm afraid I do not support that kind of trade and cannot help much on the matter.
We've got to a stage in which everybody (or at least most of us) might be having the whole Beatles catalogue. Most of us (or at least quite a few of us) is also having the remastered versions of the same albums.
The more collectors-to-the-bone are also having the re-remastered versions of some albums and the various "best of" lifted from the very same albums everybody is having. :)
Then there's the occasional eBuy seller adding up their alternate artworks and pushing their limited editions of the same music we are all having... well... I'm just from a different planet... plus I'd rather not support eBuy piracy.
Most of us were here from page one. I stumbled along a few pages later... but everyone up to page 47 is having all he ever needed.
In time what (I now think) is redundant... (like the LMS 2010, Ultimate MR2, Tapes Collection, Esper re-tamperings) will be re-upped again anyway.
Everything that was achieved-to-date on this thread was sorted out on a detailed text document and as soon I can spare some time to fix the things that needs fixing, I (or somebody for me) will post what the people who has stumbled on the thread in the latest pages might be missing. :)

Thanks for the feedback regarding the "2019 Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep", along with "The Definitive Edition", "EMS Recombination", and "29th Anniversary".
How about "The Definitive Collectors Edition"? A 4 CD set that was created in 2004. I've heard that, even though, it says Esper Productions it was not created by them. Some other "party" created it. Any truth to this?

You should mirror it where it was started perhaps. Thanks for the last piece that should have come out the Yahoo group finally! :)

I you were meaning the Blade Runner - MR3 Edition (
http://www.nas2406.com/vangelis-rarities/index.php?methode=methode1&id=164):
This, as is the "MkII" and other spin offs are fakes. They are NOT made by Esper Productions. Esper Productions only made 10 cds as a "private release" for friends. Unfortunately, bootleggers have since commercialized it to make a buck. Very sad.
2007/08/02
People: again, this is not the real Esper Productions. I, and another friend based in Spain made the original Esper Edition and LA 2019 back in 2003 as a labor of love. They are the only "releases" by us. We did not make a sigle cent off the effort. ANYTHING else has been made since then with the name "Esper Productions" has been by third-parties, many of them just wanting to "cash in". Thank you.
2011/08/19
... and I would definitely trust the guy(s) on that. ;)
What FIC could (or choose) not to get as-right-as-we-got-used-to-expect, the Esper Team eventually made it properly. Where FIC chose to make the-best-thing-to-do with the material they were having the Esper Team brought the concept to the next level. A perfect companion to the original "mixed" 1994 release eventually. Mmoires 5 was awfully good. The Esper release was tremendously good. :)
Everything after that is just a pale resemblance of what they achieved... and just another "cash in" attempt from people who sadly keep supporting this fake's market for the sake of owning everything... or at least something...

i've just downloaded 29th Anniversary version from Mr X blogspot and to be honest i don't like it.
25th Anniversary Esper had such good flow and now it seems to be ruined. too much is not good.
i can live without those extra tracks from official 25th anniversary third disc. :(

Sadly I do agree with you. The 29th Anniversary is a very good piece, don't get me wrong, but almost too much. Sometimes it does seem to pull you away from the "flow". My sincere appreciation for the creators though, as it seems to be quite an effort to produce.

The 29th Anniversary was not meant to keep things in a "flow"... nor in the "flow" of the original Esper release and the various follow-ups (like in the Esper Retirement) which had already done that, neither in the "flow" that Vangelis chose for his vision of the soundrack on the official 25th Anniversary... there was no need to cover that aspect of the soundtrack all over again.
It was meant to keep all the things in the "flow" in one single place. Differently.
We already had at least four different "visions" of such flow (Mmoires 5/7, Deck Music/Deck Art, Esper and Esper Retirement).
There used to be a label called React back in the nineties. They used to release unmixed compilations of the best trance tunes around. At some point they also started to release companion mixed versions of the same compilations.
Perhaps you would have liked the mixed versions more... some people have always opted for the unmixed DJ tools so to speak...
There are better versions of the Esper Retirement out there and in time they might see the light also here perhaps.
For the time being I trust the difference will be understood. :)

Hi All:
After far too many distractions (like work and real life things) I'm finally working on finishing my two disc comp of all the cues as they're heard in the film. I had sent a rough version of the first disc to dadadacicici quite a long time ago and he gave me some valuable feedback. I've taken his advice on those tracks and will be plunging into disc 2 over the next week or two. I plan to tackle one or two tracks per day in order to keep it manageable (since I do still have work and real life to contend with). I'm very excited to get back to this project.

I'm learning a lot and running into quite a few challenges as I work on each of these tracks. Last night I ripped each of the surround channels of some of the chapters on the Director's Cut DVD and paired them in different ways to see what I could pull out of them for the bits and pieces of the score that we currently have no sources for outside the movie. I plan to rip the entire movie this way to see what the channels reveal. Very interesting stuff!

The other languages' channels is where you want to start to looking for perhaps! :)
I do know of a stereo version of the missing Prodigal Son parts... but it should be in one of the eastern europe dubs for example. Good luck! ;)

I'm happy to report that I'm about halfway through the surround channels on the French dub of the Director's cut and I've been able to piece together a couple of upgrades to tracks that have circulated in lower quality, as well as one or two incidental music tracks that don't seem to have circulated AT ALL. Stay tuned, this is getting good!

That's strange... I mean... I have three different editions on dvd and each one of them has up to 4 different languages... the bluray has all languages in a better quality though...
I understand that bluray is not your source but you can easily get the needed extra bits on LimeTorrents (

Thanks, I'll check that out. Maybe the ripping software I'm using (DVD Audio Extractor) just isn't seeing the other language channels? It shows English, French and all the commentary tracks, though. Odd.
In piecing all this together, I'm gaining a tremendous appreciation for how Scott used music in this movie by comparing what Vangelis actually committed to tape. I think this is fairly typical of film production, where a composer records cues that may or may not be edited and moved around, but it's still fascinating to be able to put all the pieces together. "Wounded Animals," for instance, is chopped up and interspersed with other music, with large chunks of the full 11 minute track going unused. When I'm through, I should write an essay on this score!

The software you are using (5.2.3 most likely) is the correct one. It is the same we all used. You are only having a different edition of the movie compared to the one I was having. As I said the eastern Europe version has a stereo version of the Prodigal Son bits that I could not locate on my versions.
If I happen to visit again Prague (and I manage not to get lost in between those "coloured" Absinthe shots...) I'll make sure to pick up a copy. :)
The only problem with DVD Audio Extractor is that it cannot properly "render" the "shared audio bits" in common among the three different archival versions (Theatrical, International & Director's Cut). At least on the DVD edition. I have not tried that on the Bluray actually.
For example when you're listening to the love scene parts and compare the three different versions in the 5.1 rip you realize that some bits are either skipped or doubled thus making a part of the audio that you can actually listen on the dvd impossible to find in your extracted audio channels. Same thing for some bits of the chase scene. For that you will have to use the 2.0 rip which is faithful to what you are listeining... or using the 1992 edition of the movie. That is.
I am sure there should "ways" to get past the issue, perhaps the newer builds of the software have resolved that... but as far I was concerned I got stucked there unless to raw extract every single bit out of it and figure out how to re-assemble the whole thing back.
The only "unreleased" bit I was able to "scoop" were the radio music and the hare hare chant so far. I used that for the bloomin' "Ultimate MR3" I still cannot find the time to finish off. The rest of the "scoops" are either on the EMS japanese disc or in the 29th Anniversary. I'd be interested to hear the bits you are referrring to... well... virtually every each of us will be I reckon! :)
Let us know!

I second Calidoran on that!
Never understimate a "producer" viewpoint. They might see bits of a "whole" (their "vision") that you might not properly see as a composer/musician.
As a musician I can understand how frustrating that might be. Vangelis surely was when it came to accept the compromise of mixing up his music with "alien" elements off the same movie he contributed to with his compositions... but I must admit that sometimes producers/directors might get it "more right" with their "edits"... better (or better "different") than the musician... and that is when they are good.
Ridley Scott and Terry Rawlings surely were.
I came to appreciate their "cut" of the soundtrack as I am appreciating Vangelis' cut as a matter of fact. :)

The problem with the different versions may be resolved.
Maybe just use DVDshrink to re-author different standalone/non-branching versions and THEN run the extractor on them or eac3to.

He're a sample of what I'm doing. This is five cues:

Deckard Meets Rachael
Deckard Meets Rachael (reprise)
Rachael's Voight-Kampf Test
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxJw4LR4Mrb0eUFfeVpTeDVBdm8/edit?usp=sharing
The base for this section is from the rear 5.1 channels of the French dub on the Final Cut DVD. I'm in the process of editing in pieces from elsewhere, such as the 29th Anniversary edition. You'll hear this on Flight to Tyrel Corporation, but I have yet to do the other pieces. Because of the wildly varying volume levels, due to how the music is mixed in the film, I'm having to do a lot of manual adjustment so everything flows better from one track to another. You'll hear this in the hiss in different parts, some of which I will be able to eliminate by editing in sections from elsewhere. I believe this is the cleanest version of The Blue Room available, correct? I was unable to remove the spinner sound effect at the end of the cue, but I was able to minimize it so the music is still audible. The crossfades/transitions here are all as they appear in the film.

What versions do you have? If you like (and are not in an immediate hurry) i could rip the audiostreams from any of the 5 versions of the film in my 30th Anniversary Collector's Edition bluray-box. Yes, the one with the spinner toycar ;) REALLY love this box!

English 5.1 Dolby TrueHD
English 5.1 Dolby AC3 640 kbps
French 5.1 Dolby AC3 640 kbps
German 5.1 Dolby AC3 640 kbps
Italian 5.1 Dolby AC3 640 kbps
Spanish 5.1 Dolby AC3 640 kbps
2. Original Theatrical Cut (1982)/International Theatrical Cut (1982)/Director's Cut (1991) (there is less than a minute in difference between these, but i guess the cuts could feature different music)
English 5.1 Dolby AC3 640 kbps
3. Workprint Feature Version
English 2.0 Dolby AC3 192 kbps
There could be additional music in the extras, but that is something for you to find out for yourself ;) i'm not taking that time

I'd be very interested in the individual surround channels of the German, Italian and Spanish versions. Are you able to rip all the channels separately from the Blu Ray? In the French dub, the rear channels seem to have the most isolated music.
I'm in absolutely no hurry. This is going to take a while!

I can rip them any way you want:
In a single multi-channel wavefile
In one center, a stereo front, a stereo rear and one LFE channel wavefiles
or in 6 separate wavefiles
I would guess the 2nd alternative would be most useful?

Yes, the second alternative would be perfect. I don't think you need to include the LFE channel, if it saves time. I haven't found anything useful in them for the music.

This version was shown at the Fairfax Theater in 1990 where Iam sure this was recorded .

3. Workprint Feature Version
English 2.0 Dolby AC3 192 kbps
That should be something different than AC3 and in better quality compared to the bluray of the previous 2007 encode. Sure of that?
Finally, the Workprint Version comes with a new 5.1 DTS-HD MA surround sound track. While not quite as immersive or crisp as The Final Cut's sound mix, it's nice to finally have a multi-channel track for what is essentially a bootleg copy of the film.

Is your version "better" than that or simply the very same on dvd?
I'd like to check that out if it comes from the original cam source. Even if slighty better! :)

Part 1 & 2 (

From the liner notes:
"Despite being well received by fans and critically acclaimed (nominated in 1983 for a BAFTA and Golden Globe as best original score) it was not officially available for over 12 years due to a contractual dispute between Ridley Scott and Vangelis. This led to some bootlegs and intermediaries, the first, a tape - tape suspected of coming from a sound engineer during the film's mixing, it was popular, despite subpar audio quality given there were no plans to release a Vangelis score. The first official release was a reinterpretation by the New American Orchestra in 1982 that bore little resemblance to the original. In 1989 the Vangelis "Themes" was the first official release to include just a few tracks. To coincide with the release of the 1994 "Directors Cut", Warner Music released the first official soundtrack, sadly it was missing many parts included in the film, although some new tracks had also appeared. Here at last, is the complete soundtrack on this exclusive double CD."
This is a deliberately (re)packaging of the original Esper Edition to which the "Ladd Company" logo theme from the Gongo Edition was cleverly stitched.
Some milliseconds of silence were vaguely omitted to fit the design of the release and the indexing was exclusively altered in order to list the extra "Cross Now, street scene" originally part of "Salomes Dance".
Get the originals if you find yourself wishing for a better encode. If you are thinking the seemingly informative liner notes are somehow unexact... they are.
Also included a needed fix for the not-so-wise change of gain on the extra track.

This is an attempt to create something new and original with Blade Runner, making use of the material made available with the Final Cut release.
Note that this is NOT a music soundtrack. Instead I'd like to think of it as a audio adaptation of the film, like a radio play or audio book. It's all original BR sounds and music but presented in such a way to make it suitable for listening rather than watching. Simply ripping the soundtrack and listen to from start to end just doesn't work very well (IMHO!). A strict audio environment places quite different demands on material originally made for a visual one. No visual points of reference will inevitably make it come across as messy and hard to follow.
This is, to put it simple, BR re-cut for audio with emphasis on the storyline and narrative rather than anything else. To do this I've taken full artistic freedom, tweaking the original in literally hundreds of places. That includes omitting a considerable amount of material and adding quite a bit too. I've made an effort to shorten it considerably, making it a lot easier to handle and listen to. Changing the order of events has been necessary in a few places. Jumping between story lines works very well when you see things. Not so when listening to it. In order to make all pieces fit better the dialogue and narrative has been heavily cut up and altered in many places. You'll understand when you hear it...
It is based on the Final Cut but has elements from all available versions (no bootlegs) of the film plus a lot of Disc 4 material.
The cover was made for use with a single audio DVD. For perfect seamless playback I'd recommend Foobar 2000. Same for burning (with Nero plug in).

There are people sharing what collectors shared among close circle of friends and there are people selling new originals of such exclusive items.
Somewhere in between there are people making exclusive items for their personal agenda and there are people viewing it as a labour of love to share with like-minded people.
There are people sharing such exclusive labour of love and and there are people selling serial originals of those specific items.
Initially rushed in a shortened form as Theatrical Edition (
http://www.vangelis-rarities.com/index.php?methode=methode1&id=168Theatrical), quickly edited as Nas Private Release omitting a track, it was eventually expanded into a nineteen tracks Expanded Score also known as Blade Runner - 2019 Edition (
http://www.vangelis-rarities.com/index.php?methode=methode1&id=170) and lately tampered to twenty-four tracks.
The versions initially shared had the standard two seconds gap between tracks added at the end of every track. Blade Runner - 2019 Edition (Expanded Score).
The original presumably did not seem to have that. Blade Runner - Expanded Score [2019 Edition].
All of them are sourced from a lossy preview of the blu-ray disc used. Go ask the makers and the bootleggers that came after them.
Legend goes that an inevitable computer crash thwarted all the efforts made.
As for most of everything Blade Runner when it comes to the soundtrack, it is possible to re-create originals at the best possible quality sometimes.
This might be the case, but it was chosen to preserve history and not tampering more than necessary with it (the misspelled track titles).
I am having it in three different forms and the only difference is Piano Memories and the two seconds of silence added to each track.
The original edit (as originally shared), here included in APE format, courtesy by Steven.
The alternate edit (possibly a new version), in FLAC format, courtesy by Zhora.
The original edit (extra seconds removed), added as a bonus in WavePack format, courtesy by DC.
For a better flow you might want to omit the pregap on track nine when burning a tampered version with the original edits.
Original artwork courtesy of the makers or someone connected with them.
Alternate artworks courtesy of TGWTG, Pendor and JacKc.
Burn as it will best please you. Standard two seconds pregap cue file also included. See Blade Runner - 2019 Edition (Expanded Score) for that.

Ooppss... They were extremely fast this time.
I'm afraid this might need to be re-upped on a different host to justify the free exposure given the music included in the mix... read (them): people will eventually buy that if they will be interested or haven't already done it. If not that will be equal on listen to the very same music on BBC radio streamed for free...
I wonder how long will it take to pay to listen to music on the radio and in clubs. Oh... They do that already perhaps, but not 0.99 every single time. Not much into the Spotify thing when I am having thousands items of the real thing in technicolor.
And I have already the Future Sound Of London discography for the records so I should be entitled to enjoy it in the context I am best pleased to listen to.
End of the rants. :)

Gave a listening to the "Reimagined" yesterday. Fantastic piece WillDeckkard!! Started listening to it again today.
Also great art used for the CD case. Although is the page numbering of the booklet off?

Excellent to hear your feedback and very glad to hear that you are enjoying it!
I don't think I messed up the page numbering? Booklet-1 is the front(page 1), Booket2&3 is page 2&3, and so on. Booklet-10 is the last page and back of the booklet. "Back" is the back of the CD tray. *Hope that helps*

Just tried downloading, no problems even though it was a bit "round-about"

Hmm. When I click on DOWNLOAD it gives me 2 choices....download or import. I click on download and it gives me 3 choices of purchase prices for downloading.
Nothing has been downloaded to me. I'll have to try something else.

Once you clicked on 'download' you can see a timer that starts counting down. Once the 25 seconds have counted down your download will start.

It counts down from 5 seconds and then gives me the 3 choices of purchasing 1 month, 3 months, or 1 year. I see nothing about counting down for 25 seconds. :/

Close the popup window, click on download (at the top it will say preparing download) and then you have to answer the captcha and click download again. This captcha is above the 3 different purchase choices

Wow. Very strange. THe only thing above the 3 different purchase choices is an ad. Nothing to answer to, or to click download again. I can't close the ad.

Not sure why some of you are having trouble downloading. I clicked download, was prompted for a captcha (three numerals) then the download to my computer dialog came up.
Wow, pretty cool project and enjoyable music, thanks Otty. :)

Don't know why I'm having trouble. The 3 numerals are 3 choices that cost to download files. Nothing is "free".
I've downloaded many times with no problems. ?!
