As soon as I opened the page, I knew it wasn't an "official" piano collection soundtrack - S-E never has more than 1 disc/12-14 tracks on their Piano Collections.

Besides, while the quality of these tracks are quite good (in my opinion, at least), they're not quite the professional quality that S-E usually has on their albums.

EDIT: I still like it though. :D

solid is right, downsampling is an "end of the line" thing and should be done by the individual who needs it, and if you have an ipod you also have itunes which is capable of converting to AAC which is a "lossless" format which very small file sizes, i cannot vouch for the "lossless" part but it is definitely smaller than conventional mp3 at the same bitrate.

some of us dont have the luxury of owning high end ipods with tens of gigs of storage, and the loss of quality is not dependent on the bitrate alone but few encoders provide adjustments, and any mp3 is of inferior quality so it is usually not very useful to have anything higher than 128k, i personally have 320k VB for archiving my music but usually i reencode everything that goes into my mp3 players to 128k and even down to 64k cos through a headphone at "reasonable" volumes they sound fine. and the ipod headphones are of very mediocre sound quality, you woulnt notice the difference between my 320k and 128k through them, if you were to invest in say a $300 Sennheizer you would notice everything, i dont even listen to mp3s with my $600 JBL cos its just painful to the ears, i reserve those for watching DVDs and other equivalent sound sources, if i were to listen to mp3s on those i usually "process" them on a sound editor, which is what i do to my favourite songs and songs i burn onto cds(in mp3 format) for transport. depending on the amount of doctoring you do you can make a 64k that sounds almost as good as 128k.

i havn't tried the whole "lossless" AAC thing cos the easiest way to do that would be using itunes, and i have no love for itunes, its library structure has destroyed the idtags and folder groupings on 10,000 of my mp3s i still havnt recovered from that and probably never will cos thousands of those are in languages that i dont understand (like the ff musics) and i have no way of knowing what songs they are. i hav used the sony ericson's online identifying service(my sis has a w800) to identify some but i will never figure out where they came from.

i now use winamp and nero to tame my music library, and i have a panasonic diskman(extreme battery life, can gon on for days with 2 AA alkalines) and a PSP(bigger screen than ipod with similar quality, and very good battery life) for portable music, for everyday music listening i use a very old altec lansing(so old that the local altec dealer doesnt recognize it).

There isn't an Orchestral album for FFVII besides one little album: FF7 Reunion which has 3 orchestral tracks out of the 20 tracks while the rest was from the OST (minus a non-lyrics ver. of One Winged Angel). But as far as that, OCRemix possibly might have some.

Okay, there is something peculiar about this ff12 website soundtrack. when I downloaded the tracks, I thought some of them glitched, and gave me only a few seconds of the songs. so..On certain themese, you get like, 20 seconds of the music, so if you are wondering why, that is the way I got them. Please do not hate me.

Also, as you download these, You may have noticed that I did not use the standard .rar format. I did use .Zip because the compression that I've been using is better and .rar has hardly ever compressed anything for me. SO, use the latest version of Winzip to open these.

Thanks for the help, but I know for fact there is. I've seen it with my own two eyes at Toys and Joys. I wished I had picked it up then. And as for the Remix's I have heard them before. There is such an album. Its not just Singapore that has it. Toys and Joys used to carry it both in their online store and regular stores. Even the people atremasterd Toys and Joys know there is one. Its just out of print. It was a special release and more than likely went back into Square/Enix's Vault. There was an original FF7 OST that was out before this one. This is the remastered version even though it don't say. It was a special release and that may be why not a lot of people have heard of it. And no its not some remake of some other peoples work like Jeremy Robson's from OCremix. Or FF7 Reunion, etc... Its a lagit copy. But difficult to find.

Well, I was under the impression that "More Friends" is a different concert.
If you look at the link I posted in my previous post, they seem to be 2 concerts; "Dear Friends" in 2004 and "More Friends" in 2006. Both were held in LA. I don't know if the track choice is different or not, it can be that "More Friends" is repeat of the concert held 2 years ago, with the same songs ;)

I think that Dear Friends -Music from Final Fantasy was a one time thing and they did not record the music for it that way they did the more friends concert.

That would probably be because Windows Media Player (what I use, other than iTunes) automatically searches the internet to update any missing song info. so go into your options and turn it off, and it shouldn't bother you again.

Yeah, I hated that. I just found a tracklist on the internet, and using iTunes and looking at each song's position on the album, was able to properly name them. It took awhile...but it was worth it!

I really wish people would check that everything runs correctly before making it into a zip or rar and uploading it. Theres nothing worse than spending an hour or two downloading something only to find broken tracks and the like.

Hello, first time poster here. I would like to ask someone to check FFXII OST CD3 for me. I downloaded the files twice and extracted them twice. But for some reason track 10 You Really Are a Child… is always missing. I've checked the other folders, it doesn't seem like it got dumped accidentally in CD1, 2 or 4. Am I the only one who ran into this issue?

Um, I don't wanna sound like a newb or anything, but I had just downloaded the Xenosaga 3 gamerip, but my comp didn't have anything to open a raf file. Could someone tell me what a raf fil is and how to open it? I'm not too good with computers and programs. Also would there be some other way I could get the gamerip soundtrack?

Which file should I download the FFXII soundtrack from? There are about 10 different links, and I have no idea what "Lossless" means lol.

Also, I had heard the NES games had brilliant scores(perhaps even better than my all-time fave, 8). Which of the NES games had really good tracks? or maybe it was the SNES.

I know, there definitely are A LOT. Lossless means that when the tracks were compressed they lost no audio quality. Just google it and FLAC for more answers, it works for me. If you don't want to waste the time and don't care about the audio quality than just use the first couple of link options.

And if I may suggest, I like symphonic suite, IV, VI, and the concerts.

I was interested in downloading feel/Go Dream soundtrack under the Final Fantasy X headline, but I don't know how the download process works for the mediafire site. I see a blue bar with stripes moving, like a horizontal barbershop sign, but I don't know if that's the download request being processed or not because I've waited there for quite a while now.

Hey everyone, great links, thanks, but can someone answer a question for me?

While trying to extract the files from their respective archives, a few of them are giving me "Unknown Method" errors. (I'm using WinRAR, and set it to work for everything). Anyway, I noticed that the links to the files that were giving me these errors had things like "@ cbr" next to them, and I figure that has something to do with the files (Well, it obviously does).

Anyway, can someone help me figure out what I'm supposed to do to get the files out? (For reference, it's the FFTA Radio files that I'm most worried about right now).

EDIT: Well, I just checked, and apparently, it's only anything with a cbr afterwards that is not working for me. the other one (vrb, or something) works.

For the Final Fantasy VIII CBR 320 OST, Lunatic Pandora is cut short by some 2 minutes.There was also some minor static in Fisherman's Horizon.
