You need to use WinZip to extract it and a couple other ost's on here. Just use the free trial version.

You need to download and use WinRAR to extract it. The free trial is good enough. I don't know about the battle theme, but there's a track list right below the download link so try that.

Kind of feel stupid for not putting this in my above post, but here it is for future reference. For any archive you can't extract with WinRAR you need to use WinZip. If that doesn't work then try redownloading it.

Does anyone know the release date of Final Fantasy IV (NDS Version)?

Neither the game nor its soundtrack have had their release dates confirmed. I suspect at Tokyo Game Show, which starts I think on September 20th and goes for the weekend, the release date for Japan will be revealed.

I'm guessing that it'll be released in Japan sometime before 2008 (I'm guessing mid-November), but that's just my guess, so I could easily be wrong.

I agree with you there! I've been looking for the FF Series soundtracks for, what seems like, forever and I found this site yesterday morning. I must've found it literally at the same time all the links were taken down. I am gutted.

On a sidenote though, is there anything I can do to help for the files to be reuploaded? I know I don't have any of them on my computer but maybe there's a tiny way I can help?? I don't know... Meh. Bad News: It takes me at least an hour to upload each, so it's going to take a while. Also the site I use www.sound-test.org appears to be nonexistent anymore so I can't even tell you to download them individually there. And last, Snake hasn't been around since early July, so the first post can't be updated.... You can try www.bluelaguna.net for the usual ones. They don't have ones that are hard to find though.

Now, I have a request of my own: just yesterday I noticed I was missing the first four tracks of Final Fantasy V OSV. For some unknown reason they were missing from the torrent already when they were released. Finding them was no problem, but in low quality only - I prefer 320 CBR, the same as the rest of the soundtrack.

I notice there was an incomplete FFV OSV here in 320 CBR. Might someone here have it, or at least the four tracks I'm missing? Get them for me, and I can upload the soundtrack in its entirety in the same high quality.

I'll upload a little bit of the deleted stuff next week - suggestions regarding a good free file hosting site are welcome. As of today megaupload and mediafire are probably out of the question. Sendspace is getting very slow lately, so I wouldn't like to use that one either. Divshare maybe?

Megaupload IS out of the question but mediafire.com never is. mediafire.com is the be file uploading site ever. everyone just about on these forums use mediafire.com (crap even i do). so the_solid_snake please try to rethink your strategies properly.

Are those 2 the same thing? I know that 'White Melodies' is an arranged album, so would 'Final Fantasy Tactics Advance Arrange' (google only brings up 8 results) be the same thing but simply misnamed? Can someone who's downloaded both speak to this question? Thank you.

The problem is that I can't open the compressed files into those two .zip archives. I use WinRAR 3.70 and I've never had a problem like this before, while trying to uncompress (or decompress, sorry for my english) the files both albums give me the same error... "unknown method".

I've read that this could be due to any algorythm used on the compression that WinRAR 3.70 could not have but this is the latest version of WinRAR. With the other compressed albums I have't had any problem opening the compressed files.

Anybody here have open those compressed files without errors with any software different from WinRAR 3.70?

I have the same problem as well.

You need to use WinZip to extract those. I use the trial, seeing as how I don't know of any other free programs that will open them.

And thanks for uploading Axersia.I've downloaded the FINAL FANTASY TACTICS ADVANCE Arrange download to check it, and it's the CD 2 of the old FINAL FANTASY TACTICS ADVANCE Original Soundtrack, at least it have the same sound, same tracks and same lenght for each track.

But who knows.. maybe there's a promo outside called FINAL FANTASY TACTICS ADVANCE Arrange that is just the CD 2 of that album I've told you before and we don't know that it's provided as a single promo CD, hehe. I tell you that because isn't the first time that I've seen both CDs from that album as single downloads...

EDIT: I've finally found a solution for the two .zip files, and was follow the megzilla618 suggestion (thanks really). I've used the trial version of the WinZIP 11.0 and I finally have the content of the two .zip.

loveydovey, I think it's a corrupted case, it's just a case of files compressed with a WinZIP algorythm that WinRAR doesn't have (first case that I've seen in my life, honestly).

So happy now with my two new FINAL FANTASY albums, thanks one more time megzilla618 for the idea.

I honestly don't know if those compositions were new for FINAL FANTAS VII or just old and Squaresoft just used them on there because they were unreleased audio productions or anything like that. I've seen the CD 4 of the FINAL FANTASY VII INTERNATIONAL (playing I mean) and it uses the song Opening ~ Bombing Mission, but also uses songs that didn't appeared on FINAL FANTASY VII as the amazing song that sounds on the MAKING FILE section. Anyway those tracks are not vinculated with the rest of the FINAL FANTASY VII sound or ambient and I didn't know if they were Nobuo Uematsu works.

Hey the_solid_snake, just wondering, why didn't you add Subarashiki Kono Sekai (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subarashiki_Kono_Sekai)? It's a Square-Enix game y'know. Developed by the KH team. Never heard of it, I guess? You also forgot Vielen Dank by Masashi Hamauzu. He often teams up with Hitoshi Sakimoto to do FFT music. Vielen Dank is an album of his arrangements of Squaresoft games.

Also, what is Rogue Galaxy doing up there anyway? Seems a bit of a stretch. So it's developed by a developer that also did DQ8... In that case, you should also add Shadow Hearts series, Breath of Fire series, Dark Cloud series, and even the Earthbound series. It's pretty much endless.

It *is* the OST (as in ORIGINAL/OFFICIAL SOUND TRACK, so it's NOT a gamerip), like it says so in my post. I've also stated they're at 320 kbps CBR. How picky can you be? Do you want everything in lossless format? Well, good luck at finding anything.

If you have all of the parts and run the .exe file of part 1, it'll extract all of the songs into a folder. At least, that's how the FFVIII one works; it looks like the same deal to me, though.

i'm only suggesting torrents cos i like them ok, and i dont wont to argue this, i just want to share file so more people can enjoy,

i would never have access these music if not for communities like this, so i only want extent its reach. with torrent/p2p i could make sure its available till my hard drive kicks the bucket, and i'm sure i wont be the only one seeding since bandwidth is getting cheaper.

and zerocool51, i havnt done this in a while, but back in the day(before napster,etc) we used the irc channels to make direct connections to each other to share files,
irc is a dinosaur but if you dont mind i could do that and i could eventually have your collection and share over p2p or torrent so that more people could have access, i have a T1 connection so i dont mind, and i could just post the torrents on a forum and people will be able to download them.

PS: before you ask, yes i was on the mp3 scene before napster, i was on the sharing scene before mp3, that probably makes me a dinosuar, RIAA has been promising extinction for a while!

the file "FFVIOSV.part2.rar" appears to be corrupt i'v downloaded it four times and each time track 60 cannot be extracted, all the other tracks are ok.

About Final Fantasy I & II Dawn of Souls: I have the entire soundtrack, if indeed you can call it that. It isn't an official release but a game rip, and a bad one at that. It sounds bloody awful, even the original audio in All Sounds of Final Fantasy I & II is better. Unless you're a completist, I can't see any reason why you'd want it. It's essentially the same as the Final Fantasy I & II Original Soundtrack anyway, only in lower quality. Get that one instead, you'll miss nothing.

erm i kinda needed to post this here, the Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Soundtrack has recently been leaked out fer some odd unknown reason. i've popped in the IRC channel #gamemp3s and i saw that there was a Torrent out for it.
