I just finished listening to this compilation. If you have anymore of this great lady,I'd love to get my hands on it.
The only other item in my collection is the soundtrack to It's Always Fair Weather � easily the most overlooked of all the great M-G-M musicals from the 50's � and she is so delightfully obnoxious and brassy in it. Here's a like to Daniel's copy if you don't already have it: Thread 169578

1960 Pepe - VA (Andre Previn-Johnny Green) - Colpix/Columbia - MP3 @ 320

Why isn't this out on DVD? It's a stinker, an obscenely overlong movie, but with so many great cameos, who really cares? For years it only existed in a pan-and-scan VHS copy. Not long ago This-TV ran a letterbox copy, so they obviously have it remastered. Sony probably doesn't see much money in it. Cantinflas was embarrassed by how big of a flop it was and most Hispanics would rather watch the films he made on Mexican soil rather than this bloated Americanized portrait of their hero. I made my parents take me to see it when it opened. Not for Cantinflas, or Frank, or Edward G., or even Cesar Romero. I was in it for Jay North whose work on Dennis the Menace was must-see TV when I was 5.

I credit a few entertainers with starting me on the path of cinematic salvation and alongside The Marx Bros., Jerry Lewis, the Three Stooges, W.C. Fields, and Bugs Bunny stands the incomparable Mae West. Jerry, the Stooges, and Bugs were there in the delivery room while the other three were introduced when I was 9 via late night television. She was a feminist before it became fashionable and no woman from her generation had the balls to buck the censors like Mae. An expert at smuggling innuendo, if you can tap into the era they remain some of the bawdiest comedies of the pre-code era.

What follows is not an album. It's a collection of songs that I've gathered over the years. They're all mp3, but the rates vary with mileage. If you should happen to have any of her recordings � particularly the ones that came out in the 60's � please share.

Of late I've been a bit remiss in thanking peeps for their obvious 'brill' postings. The laptop's been quarantined to the downstairs lounge table for proper use (like report writing and such )- with no internet connection capabilities (yes - I'm one of those that won't have anything to do with wi-fi radiation - and believes smart meters and stuff is harmful and certainly isn't in OUR best interests - so it's hard wire connections for me.) Been no chance for a bit to download and listen to anything that's been offered. Anyway I ramble.

And then there's a thanks needed for Guido & Maurizio De Angelis - Sandokan (TV) from supaglam (a bit of a quiet and under the radar post). Appreciated.

Aldo Ray's nadir and The Standells?! Now we're talking rarities! A laff riot masterpiece that I'm proud to have in my DVD collection. Fans of another world-class Sam Katzman stinker, Hot Rods to Hell, will note the presence of Mimsy Farmer and Laurie Mock. Hell is my favorite bad movie of all time, a picture I've probably seen as many times as I have Citizen Kane. Were it not for these gals and the Hell connection, I might never have taken a ride on the Strip.

The OST to this very funny classic movie has an incredible Hefti score IMHO. Too bad the origial stereo masters are lost. This abbrieviated studio re-recording isn't on par with it but has good quality surviving stereo sound. It has some different tracks not used in the film but is still pretty damned good!

That problem about rep points has been there all the time. I'm constantly getting it when I try to give rep points to you guys. It's something put there, I image to stop 'favour' or 'mutural backscratching' by forum members (a bit like how Freemasons tend to behave) - in tit for tat manner. In a way it's not really a bad thing. The like button was probably better, but now it's gone.

Harry Einstein, who went by the stage name Parkyakyarkus, collapsed on Milton Berle's shoulder and quietly passed away. Einstein was the father of Albert Brooks and Bob Einstein. The record opens with a tribute to the deceased.

FYI - just noticed that ITunes didn't put all of JC Surferstar in one folder but split them into not only 2 folders, but 2 sections. So uploaded the second disc to correct that.
