hey kenny, if getting the MP3 version of "how to succeed in business without really trying" makes you feel like dying then i hope getting the FLAC version will make you feel like living cause i have the lossless version..it was put out by RYKO the same music label that put out "a bridge too far" that you just posted here urself..its too bad RYKO is long out of business..they were the big movie soundtrack label back in the 1990s..i also hope this lossless version wont bring christmas to you even sooner..we first have thanksgiving to get done with..

I'm currently at over 850 versions, with at least 180 known ones missing...

kenny - its hard to imagine that same david rose went from doing the stripper LP in 1962 to then doing the music for bonanza (TV series) in its last few years ad then doing the music for little house on the prairie during its entire run..

Nelson Riddle did not have all that many original compositions compared to his contemporary composers. In many respects he was in The Conrad Salinger mode,excelling at making the music of others sound much better. He did score this TV series and it has fantastic stereo sound. Probably my favorite Riddle title. The master recording of this soundtrack LP has been well preserved. If one had never heard of Nelson Riddle,I would have them listen to this title to find out just what that Nelson Riddle sound is about.

A collection of 8 Nelson Riddle vintage easy listening albums from the late 1950's and very early 1960's,at the dawn of the commercial stereo record era. I believe no longer available on this forum so here it is again. Unfortunately in VBR but that isn't much of a problem listening to the mono titles. Stereo sound better than one might think. Not the typical Riddle sound,this music more suited for in front of a fireplace on a cold winter night with a warm drink in your hand.

IMHO,one of John Barry's very best film scores.

This soundtrack LP isn't as good as the complete original score to this film but still one of the better re-recordings in overall terms of musical content and one of the very best in terms of sound quality. The track "Playing with Dynamite" not as good here as the original track (too short).

For me music does not get any better. This "bootleg" compilation probably my most valued out of my choice of 4,000+ soundtracks,even though this isn't a soundtrack. Listen to this and 60 minutes goes by very quickly.

PPKA, in regard to ur posting of leroy anderson that comes from the jasmine music label i can tell you a couple of things..first this label is based in the czech republic and the quality level of the music they put out isnt very good..probably at the same level as the collectables label is..its also interesting to point out that alot of titles from jasmine seem to be all over the internet at the same 192k bit rate that urs was at..i cant recall ever seeing a jasmine title in FLAC or even at 320k.. i think all their music that you find online was meant to be at the 192k level for some reason..

here is the suite from Lonesome Dove..this was the mini series that was on TV back in the late 80s..for unknown reasons only about 13 tracks have ever been released officially but there is enough music from the Lonesome Dove saga to take up 3 CDs..so you have a a few bootlegs out there..this suite has some official and not so official stuff on it..but great in FLAC either way !!

i think it was last week when daniel was nice enough to post Meet Me In St. Louis..but it was the lossy bootleg version..not the official RHINO FLAC version that he had previously posted on a seperate thread a few years back..i was fortunate enough back then to get the link from daniel for that RHINO version..so i figured it was the sensible thing for that RHINO official version to be posted here and now..obviously it would be better if it came from daniel himself but i get the impression that he would rather not post in FLAC on this thread..so anyways this comes from daniel originally and im just posting it here on his behalf..i think i can speak for everyone in saying thank you daniel for sharing Meet Me In St. Louis - the official RHINO version in FLAC !!!

the film was actually shot entirely in japan which was very unusual at the time since it was only 20 years after the war..in addition this was the very last film that cary grant ever appeared in..he retired after this movie and led a very quiet life till he passed in 1986..

The Radio broadcast that panicked much of the listening audience of United States on Halloween night in 1938.

Welles's' "War of the Worlds" broadcast has become famous for supposedly tricking some of its listeners into believing that a Martian invasion was actually taking place due to the "breaking news" style of storytelling employed in the first half of the show. The illusion of realism was furthered because the Mercury Theater on the Air was a sustaining show without commercial interruptions, and the first break in the program came almost 30 minutes after the introduction.

Hollywood Squares is an American game show in which two contestants compete in a game of tic-tac-toe to win cash and prizes. The show piloted on NBC in 1965, and the regular series debuted in 1966 on the same network. The board for the game is a 3 � 3 vertical stack of open-faced cubes, each occupied by a celebrity seated at a desk and facing the contestants. The stars are asked questions by the host, and the contestants judge the truth of their answers to gain squares in the right pattern to win the game.

Although Hollywood Squares was a legitimate game show, the game largely acted as the background for the show's comedy in the form of joke answers (called "zingers"), often given by the stars prior to their real answer. The show's writers usually supplied the jokes. In addition, the stars were given the questions' subjects and bluff (plausible but incorrect) answers prior to the show. The show was scripted in this sense, but the gameplay was not. In any case, as original host Peter Marshall explained at the beginning of the Secret Square game, the celebrities were briefed prior to the show to help them with bluff answers, but they otherwise heard the actual questions for the first time as they were asked on air.

In 2013, TV Guide ranked it at No. 7 in its list of the 60 greatest game shows ever.

daniel, i have alot of supremes stuff and in FLAC..if there is something ur looking for let me know and i would send it over to you..

Daniel, this one was copied from 2 reels from my uncle who lived at S�o Paulo City.
He received them from mail on March, 1966.
I think it was from the Detroit FM that aired live on January.
The weird thing is 2 reels (7 inches, 15 ips, 1800 feet)
The paper box is written only the adress of my uncle.
