No one's forcing you to download the whole soundtrack, first of all streaming is an option and also most of them you might already know from playing the game what they sound like unless the title doesn't mean anything.

EDIT: I might have misunderstood what you meant, cause it's obvious you can stream to listen if you don't know what one is. If you mean you can't nominate unless you download it, then... not obliged to, perhaps just mention a few from memory!

For the record, I personally disregard what's going on in other ones and rather look at what's been done for that game. Hitoshi Sakimoto deserves some attention for once.

I am currently unavailble to use my home PC. So i have come to the libary to check my email etc. I have not forgot about this for the record. I just updated votes with some more. And i will continue to listen. However, I had to find a site that i could just listen to them on. And I am not sure if all the names are correct. " near the water" for example. I dont remember seeing one called that on my OST i have at home on the pc.

ThroneofOminous - It is indeed a great track. i recognised it straight away, im sure its the one that plays near when you collect the seclam shells. But i may be wrong. Either way it is a great track.

I'll give this one more day, I think. I was hoping to be started by now, but there haven't really been enough nominations to really establish anything close to 32 clear winners. I'm going to have to pick names out of hats for those which are level on votes, but hopefully we'll be started soon, just bear with me for now. Hopefully DL will get back to me in the next 24 hours with his votes.

This is why I suggested doing 64, takes a lot faster to get things started and shouldn't seem like too many if you wait as short as I did or as you've been doing. The whole rumble would probably take 2.5 months on average which shouldn't be too long, after all didn't the mark one take that long? I'm using 64 in X... but heh, I guess it's obsolete to consider by this point.

Just a last-resort suggestion... but if you're already set on 32 which you probably are, then don't let me stop you.

To be honest, I'm surprised you've even gotten this many nominations -- when I ask for them at my rumble(s), there are lots of people that simply don't nominate. I'd be wary of considering nominations or lack of as a reflection on potential turnout.

Just a quick note to say bear with me guys - I'm about halfway through counting the votes (which I have to do for each track in turn because of the way I decided to do this) and I've also been a bit disrupted by the site not working much in the last couple of days.

Oh, Ceidwad, I'm with you, I'm pissed that "Final Fantasy" isn't in there. For that matter, I'm also disappointed at the lack of "The End of the Battle." Other than that, I'm generally happy with what's been included.

In any case, it's certainly popular with fans of the game, jointly scoring the most votes in the preliminary round. A rousing battle theme.

It uses one the many variations on the game's main theme, and generally is a kind of medley of tunes from the game.

Clash on the Big Bridge. I prefer identifiable tracks rather than ones that are blends of many of them, like most of the "Ending Theme"s. Opening Movie has some cool parts, but if it didn't change every 40 seconds and as an individual OST track rather than an FMV, that long drum beat could have been cut.

I was happy that there was a variation of "Battle with Gilgamesh" in the game, but I think I actually prefer FFV's version.

My first vote in this rumble goes to Opening Movie. I think COTBB is a little over-rated, personally, but I do like the variation of the main theme in the Opening Movie, even if I didn't actually vote for either in the preliminaries.

Clash On The Big Bridge ~FFXII Version~ cause this one is better than AKHT's versions. Opening Movie is pretty, but that's it.

I think all my votes will show I'm a sucker for themes found in battle and in field maps. I tend to spend most of my time in such areas, and have more memorable moments out there, so those songs tend to carry more emotion for me. Gilgamesh was one of the more challenging fights in the game, at least for me, and as such that song became more exciting than just a simple homage to an old game. I also support what Zak said a few posts back.

I like both tracks here, and Cerobi Steppe was pretty close to making it onto my list in the preliminaries, but I have to go with Eruyt Village, even though both are fairly similar, possibly because the amount of time I spent grinding on the Cerobi Steppe made me grow somewhat tired of its music eventually.

I like both, but definitely Cerobi Stoppe. I'm not sure if Eruyt Village was on my list of nominations. In any case, Cerobi Stoppe has a very interesting and unique feel to it -- a great tune for a location theme.

Clan Headquarters gets my vote. Esper Battle was fine for a couple of minutes, then made you want to tear your hair out at its repetitivity.

This is painful because I really quite like Penelo's Theme, but given that I'd actually rate them about equally, I'll vote for Dalmasca Esterstand as it's obviously going to win anyway. Oh, and nice use of the main FFXII theme in this tune.

Well, not gonna argue over something like this, but it seems like a pretty big statement which leads me to wonder: Are you thinking about the part played in Archades? Because hearing that part over and over again does drive me crazy, and I couldn't care less for it, but many seem to have the misconception that that's the theme, when it's only less than half of it. In fact, I don't think at any point in the game does it play the whole thing. The other half that's played in the Draklor Lab (without the Archades part) is where I think all the hype comes from, and I don't blame them. Unfortunately that's the only place it's played and you get to only go there once, and you spend a long time in Archades and hear the boring half, which is why it gets so little recognition.

I don't know about you, but the opening and first half (that are played in Draklor, so without the Archades half) I could sit through for hours. Can't say the same about the Archades part. If these were two different tracks, the second half (Archades) wouldn't make it very far in my book, but the first half I wouldn't wanna see lose.

Btw, it IS the Balfonheim music as well, not a variation. If I'm not mistaken the track known as "The Port at Balfonheim" is actually something completely different. Unless bluelaguna is mistaken. Probably in the FMV arriving there. Confusing, I know... listen for yourself.

"Secret Practice" is the same thing that's played at the beginning and on Balfonheim (as for why, probably because of the footracing). "The Port on Balfonheim" sounds nothing close to it, and it's certainly not played when walking around there.

No, the bluelaguna version of Balfonheim Port is basically correct, but in the actual game you can hear the opening part of 'Secret Practice' played on the loop before the bluelaguna part begins.

So they are different, Square just took the opening part of 'Secret Practice' and tacked it onto the start of TPAB.

A Speechless Battle is actually my favorite boss theme out of the ones that made it in. Secret Practice is good too though.

Not fussed on "Hope", so Sochen Cave Palace gets the gong this time.

That version of Hope is actually a compressed version of the symphonic poem that plays during the end credits; thus why it changes pace a lot. It's inferior to the proper version but I'll be voting for Symphonic Poem “Hope” anyway, since the proper version isn't in the rumble. Plus at the very least it made an awesome BGM for what is one of my favorite game trailers of all time.
