2 questions: (1) where is the METAL GEAR 20th ANNIVERSARY - Metal Gear Music Collection in FLAC, see it's on the main page in Archival Lossless but I can't seem to find it in the FLAC link.

(2) I'm not too familiar with MGS music, not before Brawl anyway. Can you recommend me some albums that you personally find appealing? I currently have "SNAKE EATER" SONG FROM METAL GEAR SOLID 3 and METAL GEAR SOLID 4: GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS.

I got my confirmation email from Play-Asia (yes, everyone reading, I bought all of these albums to get you the best quality rips possible... and cause I'm a bit OCD and must have them all!) and the first part of my order shipped yesterday. It includes the 20th Anniversary album, Portable Ops, MGS3, and MGS2. (MGS1 is back ordered, but should ship by the 14th) I also snagged a copy of the MGS3 First Bite CD on ebay (it's an official release, no bootleg!) and it shipped from Japan early this week.

Albums I'd recommend... MGS3: Snake Eater (when I get it posted) and Metal Gear Mix (SSBB). These are the most played on my system here. Though I'm sure MGS4 will rise to the top once I get my hands on the game!

I have a question. Does anyone have a rip of the Metal Gear victory and failure jingles? For example, the "game over" jingles and the "VR training - mission complete" jingles. The only Metal Gear album I have that has the victory and failure songs is Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. Anyone have the others?

The way I've done it is running my PS3 audio into my TV then running a cable like this (http://www.cablewholesale.com/specs/headphone-to-rca-cable/10a1-12206.htm) from the TV audio out to my computer's line-in jack.

Recordand edit the tracks with Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) and export the tracks as .wav files.

Then grab EAC (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/) and convert the .wav files to FLAC, MP3, and whatever else you wish!

A better tool to convert the .wav files would be dBpoweramp with the FLAC & Apple lossless plug-in installed. It's work's like a dream and it's fast!

Thanks for the support remblue! Honestly Tito_2000, if you don't like the scans, there are a couple other options open to you:

1.) Ask POLITELY, if it's possible to get a better set of scans.
2.) Stop being a CHEAPSKATE and BUY the book on EBAY!

I didn't scan these personally, but honestly with all the other THOUSANDS of files I've posted here for the community, I glanced over these and thought they got the point across... It is, after all, a FREE book from GameStop. Not exactly hard to come by. ($8-$15 online)

I'm not trying to single you out, but I can't tolerate rudeness. Especially when it's something you're being given without asking anything in return. Just be grateful, and if you're unhappy with something, just be kind... you know that old expression about the flies and honey? It's true!

But I already downloaded a MGS4Artbook a while ago but in my oppinion the quality is terrible and I hoped you would upload a better one, that�s why I was disappointed. I�m trying to get this MGS2 artbook (physically) for a long time now and now im searching for the 4 one, too and it�s not easy to get it because I�m living in Europe and the shipping costs from the States or Japan arent low you know. But if you would scan the MGS4 Artbook for us all I would be very thankful to you...that would be great !

I know it wouldn't be an easy task, but I haven't been able to find it in its entirety anywhere. There is no such thing as an artbook for MGS4, if you get my meaning. Not one with Shinkawa's artwork, anyway. There is only the one with screenshots of the CG renders. Which sucks, since we didn't get a Shinkawa artbook for MGS3 or 4...and I love Shinkawa's art. It's a shame.

I'm wondering if I missed a specific track from MGS3. I also wonder if anybody can find this track, it's the version of snake eater that plays during the last half of the fight with The Boss.

It begins with the instrumental version of the song, then continues to the lyrics after the instrumental bit is finished. Anybody who could find this track, i'd really appreciate it. IF it already has been posted, can somebody direct me to it?

I'm doing this post to help you and the rest who is trying to set the alarm on the Otaclock. It's just impossible.. at leas as it comes when you download it. Check this site for the full explain (http://scawley.wordpress.com/2008/04/09/mgs-otaclock/) and read it all because it contains quite interesting info about the Japanese first version who have the Alarm working, and how to make work the English version of Otaclock. That site also provides translation for the Japanese version, Macintosh versions too, and even the sound of the Codec for those who want to use it as the Alarm sound on their Otaclock ;]

I'm seriously thinking about disable the S.O. clock and enable just this one, it's funny as hell. The only thing I don't like about it is that it leaves a Task Tray icon, unfortunately.

Between, I've a METAL GEAR SOLID ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK that seems to be pretty unknown on internet. It's like a promo edition of the official one, it only comes with 20 tracks (the normal one comes with 21). For the rest it's almost the same, but it's strange that doesn't appear on VGMdb for example.

I won it with the pre-order of the METAL GEAR SOLID on the times of Playstation 1. Some of you could have it too for sure, it's with gray box cover.

Man, I've been busy here of late...

For the rip portion, apparently you have to be at certain skill levels to unlock different music sets in-game... as I get silence when I play the MGS4 musics online. So I've been playing LOTS of MGO trying to boost my levels.

And yes, I completed MGS4 and it was glorious. Though on repeated playthroughs I could finish the game in around 4 hours w/o videos, so it IS a rather short game... it is still LOTS of fun. I've got various save-points to try out new DL'd camo and songs.

Anyway, when I get all the music opened I'll get a soundtrack together. May take a little while yet, as Star Wars: The Force Unleashed came out last night and I doubt I'll get much of anything done until I've beat the crap out of it!

For anyone interested in the MGO rip I started... well, I'm not sure how good I have to be to get all these tracks unlocked... but I still can't listen to them all, and quite honestly have been too busy to get any better!!

If anyone has access to all the songs in the online matches, please, please, PLEASE, let me know and I can mybe enlist you to help record and shoot me some files to compile.

Also, the iPod soundtrack looks to be on it's way to completion. Keep an eye on Cloudstrife1989 thread here (Thread 58634).

I'll more than likely rip the downloadable tracks and release them here one-by-one until they quit releasing them. Then release a collected version. Working on a system that will keep everyone from having to re-download them as a set down the road. (i.e. number, title, sequencing, etc.)

Between, I've a METAL GEAR SOLID ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK that seems to be pretty unknown on internet. It's like a promo edition of the official one, it only comes with 20 tracks (the normal one comes with 21). For the rest it's almost the same, but it's strange that doesn't appear on VGMdb for example.

I won it with the pre-order of the METAL GEAR SOLID on the times of Playstation 1. Some of you could have it too for sure, it's with gray box cover.

I believe what you've got there is the CD that came with the MGS Premium Pack in Japan? If you could get me some pics I could tell better. If it's something totally awesome I could get you a how-to and you could rip it for us and we'll get it posted up here!!

Even so, I had a question. Do you plan on making the iPod tracks from MGS4 available as a compilation (a .rar file, or something) once the collection is completed? Because I can stand waiting a month or two to get the whole thing, as opposed to downloading the tracks individually. ;)

As far as the iPod tracks go... Absolutely. BUT, if you grab the tracks individually, you won't have to grab them again once I make it a collection. I'll simply design the artwork and post it up, then you can drag the pic to your music player of choice. All the tagging will remain the same for the final release as it is in the individual tracks... You're welcome to wait, I'm just not sure how long Konami is planning on releasing these bad boys. :)

Everything is back on FileFactory and I added a new papercraft model. A Colt Single Action Army as used by Revolver Ocelot so enjoy!
