I'm gonna have to say it's myth, unless someone has some other information?

No, it's not a "heart attack." :P FileFactory just does that. It's supposed to be incentive to buy their service. Their little message about no "download slots" is bull, to make you so frustrated with their free service you want to pay for it. Other file-sharing sites do it too. Really annoying way of winning their customer's money.

Unfortunately, it happens randomly, so there's no way to anticipate it; you can sometimes download all day and it won't happen. Other days, you're constantly thwarted. :(

Just install the fonts into C:/Windows/Fonts (or somewhere close to that) and they should work fine. I use some heavy cardstock paper to print mine (actually got them done at kinko's) made for some AWEsome models!

Was "Theme Of Tara" remixed for Ghost Babel's VR Missions and MGS2: Substance's VR Missions?

Someone added it to the Metal Gear Wiki, but I wasn't sure if it was true or not. I'm downloading the Ghost Babel soundtrack now to see if it's on there, but it doesn't look like the Substance soundtrack has it on there, and I don't remember hearing it in the actual game. I am confused, haha!

Great mega collections and threads like these make me really wishful that we will one day have a somewhat private torrent aggregation site for game music and game-related downloads. I suggest you will record the files in Heliport. Remember the three storage rooms and one of them had surveilance camera? Go to the middle one and there is almost no wind sound.

Ok folks. Lots of changes ahead!

- First up, the media updates. Got the 3 new in game iPod tracks added, as well as Podcast #2.

I took antti's advice and checked out Shadow Moses for a quieter recording environment. I ended up in the basement of the Warhead Storage Building, sitting in the elevator for about an hour... I re-ripped the old tracks and added the new ones as well. If the original BG noise didn't bother you, don't bother downloading the new versions. But if you want a cleaner environment, try 'em out!

- Second, I am currently in the process off creating DVD rips of the Legacy of MGS DVD collection found here (http://www.freewebs.com/legacyofmgs/).

This guy is hardcore. He's ripped absolutely everything Metal Gear and compiled a HUGE 19 DVD set. 4.5Gb a pop gets a little time-consuming though, so I'm doing you all a favor and ripping them to .avi. HOWEVER, if you like what you see (my version, or the original DVD set) PLEASE donate to the man. God knows it must have taken FORever to compile this. If you're interested in having a physical set of discs, they're available on his site as well.

- And finally, I am passing the baton of thread maintenance to my dear friend ileferru. He's been a HUGE help to me in the past, mirroring things, and re-posting links when I've not had time to keep up, and I know he'll do a GREAT job maintaining this thread for you.

Now, I'm not leaving forever. I'll be working on the DVD-rip set, and trying to get new content for the thread, but I simply haven't got time for the day-to-day "Please re-upload XX" maintenance.

So give a shout-out to ileferru and make him feel welcome, keep an eye out for a new thread location in the next couple weeks, and of course, keep playing Metal Gear!

Are you talking about the songs that you can choose to play when your playing the game? If so then you can actually find them in their original soundtracks as listed in the first page.

Well, there is one song specifically that I am looking for. When you have to update the game, there is a track that plays in the background. I was hoping there would be some way to get that track because I'm kinda addicted to it even though it is a rather wussy song. :(

On the MGO Premier Beta soundtrack, the XMB Song. The first 10 seconds of that song, does anyone know what full song that part is from, or is it not part of any specific song?

There's a little song when you cannot connect to metal gear online. It takes you to a Troubleshooting page with Otacon and MKII page. I don't think it's in the MGO online album?

I just downloaded ur MG Saga Vol. 2 today and the avi file inside of it was corrupted. I managed to extract it and fix it up, but I just wanted to warn you about that file being corrupted for it will be a pain for others who want it.

Well I think the name of the track you're referring to is "Debriefing" and you can probably find it on any torrents. Really not that hard to find an MGS3 OST torrent. As for "Enclosure" its part of the tracks not included in the MGS4 soundtrack. Wich sucks.

You can download it for the in-game iPod. It's a shame SwitchFreak doesn't seem to post here anymore, as I'm sure he would have ripped it for us.

Technically thats why the msn option was added to profiles, so people could email or transfer stuff to other people. but ive never seen a mgs website, plenty FF music downloads but none for mgs.

I keep hearing/reading about MGS4 Another Side, but am a little confused.
Does anyone know if this is a fan soundtrack, or an official soundtrack published by Konami?
Also, I haven't seen it around here.
Does anyone know if it's been released as of yet?

Now I am not an audiophile by any means, but the rips provided by that Youtube guy don't sound that great. Maybe that's just the way they are in the IG iPod aswell. 'Enclosure' requires perfection as it's very dear to me. Here's hoping the inevitable Cloudstrife/Switchfreak-rips will sound better.
The Expanded Score version is all fine and dandy apart from the few seconds of Otacon & Naomi panting in the beginning.

Additionally; thank you kindly, switch and cloud for making this great thread happen. It has expanded (and, I guess, completed) my collection of MGS Soundtracks.
Also, I noticed the track "Next-Gen Control (Altered Version)" (track 85) is missing from the Expanded Score's tracklist on the first page of this thread, and track 90 ("The Death of an Immortal") seems to be acting up for a lot of people trying to unpack part 3 of the 320kbps-version.

What do you mean, my sound rip isnt good? Its capture directly from iPod and that was the best way to listen until now. Thats the reason for your "inevitable Cloudstrife/Switchfreak-rips" dont rip for us.

Wharever, the best way to listen theses musics is from download, not in youtube video.

I just downed your Enclosure, and yes you are right. It is better than the one I had.
My bad one and the youtube vid sounded very similar, slight crackling in the background and such. Maybe that's just how sound deteriorates, I don't know about that kinda stuff.

I'm dying to know; what is the difference between the MGS2: SOL Soundtrack and its US RE-PRINT version, besides the media device ID? The music is identical? Is it re-mastered?
Why would someone choose one over the other? Is one the JAp version, the other simply an identical US release version and music identical, just different media code and cover?

You mean Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for PSP. Kojima is saying it's a true sequel for the 'series' and that it takes place in the 70s (which is very interesting because the 70s had more global political tremors than other decades, at least the 60s).

Okay theirs something seriously wrong with FLAC files. Thats twice now that one of the downloads failed to extract that RAR file, twice its screwed itself up on seperate rars. Whats wrong with OGG or MP3?

Is there a good quality rip(no sfx) or enclosure from MGS4 ? I found one on here, complete with no sfx but a lot of hissing(along with same quality rip of view of deep snow, love theme hum version, battle of highland). Im looking for a good clean rip.

Don't know The file has almost finished downloading so I'll have an opinion later.

The Director is a Metal Gear fan though so I know at least he knows what would and would not work and what could and could not be done based on the limited funding that was had for the project.

They even got one of the vocalists from the Metal Gear Solid series Aoife Ferry who sang "The Best is Yet to Come" so that in itself tells me that they were being serious about the project at least.

Can't wait for the Peace Walker Soundtrack. I was wondering if you could upload the MGS3 existence disc on here. It's not music based, but it's the MGS3 cutscenes edited together by Hideo Kojima. It's a on PS2 disc though.

MGS2 (US Reprint) doesn't seem to want to work. It'll download, but the files won't play.

I use foobar for playing flac-files. It works perfect.
And you can convert the files into mp3 there...

Hey, try to look at the first post's date :D Back then FileFactory wasn't bad for free users, even with the wait times. Oh! Since we're on it: waiting in order to get something for free is never bad, in my humble opinion, obviously. Meh! Some of you should really learn to be grateful and patient.

I've taken the liberty to rip the two songs that I've requested: Bon Dance and Love Theme action version.

Unfortunately my methods are archaic, by which I mean that I recorded the tracks from the in-game iPod straight through some composite cables into my Line In jack.

Quality may be dissappointing. This also means there is background sound bugging the tracks.

I chose the 'follow the resistance' level to record as I thought that was the quietest level among them. If someone can direct me to a more quiet location, please tell me and I may rerecord the tracks.
