With so much wonderful Fried music suddenly thrust under our hungry noses, it’s possible to overlook some. I hadn’t played I WILL FIGHT NO MORE FOREVER since it was first posted, and just the other day I realised there were big differences in the volume levels - most of the action music is extremely quiet while other tracks are at max vol.

I spent a little time fixing the volume levels, and I also trimmed the long silences at the start of tracks. If anyone wants to download it all over again, it’s available here:

I had not heard a lot of Gerald Fried scores until you posted all of these, and I must admit that Fried is one heck of a composer. His melodies are amazing. I think my favorites are "The Silent Lovers" and "Survive!"

I see that he worked on an album called: Orienta ...

An album by The Markko Polo Adventurers released in 1959 on RCA Records. The album was produced by Simon Rady, arranged and conducted by Gerald Fried and recorded in stereo in Hollywood, California. The album uses a combination of sound effects and Asian-inspired music to tell humorous vignettes.

Thank you once again, sadsack, for acting as a conduit for, and host of, this incredible collection of Fried's work!

As we slip further into the Fall and rapidly approach Halloween, is there any chance that more of Fried's work will be posted? In particular, I am wondering about his scores for "Curse of the Faceless Man" (1958), "The Flame Barrier" (1958), "The Spell" (1977), and "Maneaters Are Loose!" (1978). I only know of these films/scores through IMDB's listing of Fried's film work, thus I recognize that they may either be unavailable or possibly of lesser interest. Then again, much to my surprise, you have posted an immense body of work that I never thought I'd see or want! You've hooked me on Fried :)

First, let me say THANK YOU immensely to sadsack for your love of the man and his music to keep posting this treasure trove of material that we may never have been able to have access to if not for your determined work here.

I'd like to offer all of you who admire Mr. Fried some links I just happened onto today which just absolutely made my day (year?) ----- and hopefully yours as well.

2 FULL HOURS !!!!!!!!!!!! of Mr. Fried talking intimately about his work, inspiration, compositional & orchestration techniques, life story + him actually playing 3 of his Star Trek cues (from Amok Time & Shore Leave) solo on his oboe at his home in New Mexico and even showing the score sheets he's playing from.
He talks at length about many of the scores listed in this thread.

The videos are hosted on Youtue - BUT are NOT indexed in Youtube's main search results (what they call restricted links) - only accessible if you get there from the originating website.
In this case The ARCHIVE of AMERICAN TELEVISION.
