MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. 1965-1967, 1983 GERALD FRIED
23 episode score contributions, and partial soundtrack from reunion TV movie "Return Of Man From UNCLE" (1983). Because cues are usually short, they are grouped in 5 minute suites.
These are original recordings (though not 1st generation tapes so dont expect perfect sound). This also means they are not the final episode versions where cues were sometimes edited, deleted, or had substitutions from earlier episodes. Some short cues are overlays (eg a drum roll), but I didnt mix them with other cues. Pickups will be edited in when I notice them.
Source cues, extra takes and bridges ("whip pans") will usually be placed at the end. Any interesting source cues, and identified whips, will be put in film order.
Mostly unreleased music, wave in Flac format, no artwork.

Return Of Man From U.N.C.L.E. Fifteen Years Later Affair (1983) INCOMPLETE
27 tracks, 32 mins. I left in studio chatter in some source cues. Track names include placement within movie since many cues are not included.

FFshrine member feedthecats worked tirelessly to figure out the most likely film order for the unused DEADLY QUEST score, as indicated below. Cues in recording sessions are not entirely in film, cue sheet, or slate order, hence the confusion of what is what. The upload contains cues in slate order with the exception of putting all the Main Title alternates at the end. The first Main Title was used in the FSM cd as the 4th season Main Title alternate, so we're going with that one. The remaining Main Title alternates might include End Title alternates, but no way to determine this.

Whips are the short music clips for scene-change bridges (known as "whip pans").
Pickup cues are partial replacements for a previous cue, usually indicated by "pickup" in the slate. The UNCLE sessions never indicated this, so one would have to deduce if the partial was another track or pickup by playing the video. Since this was an unused score and no film version for comparison, I left possible pickups as they occur rather than edit them into previous cues.

Here is Fried's cue list which is presumably the film order, with exceptions such as the End Credits not being at the end. It seems to be more in film order than the actual slated tracks, so the tracks have been matched to the cue list. There are fewer audio tracks than cue names; possibly some cues were re-used tracks, like the "whip" cues.

This is wonderful! I spent many hours as a kid trying to piece together a soundtrack for this show, editing (analoguely!!) music from different episodes together to avoid gunshots, dialogues and punches. The official soundtracks were terrific, but by their nature missed some great tracks, so good to have some of these through these uploads. Are there any more?

Just to let everyone know, there are some guys over on YOUTUBE that are taking old, mono recordings from the 40's and 50's, and ripping them apart, and re-recording them in stereo. I have no idea what programs they are using to do this, but if they can rip one instrument out of a mono recording, then someone should be able to rip the music out of the DVD episodes, and save it in stereo HD! Just an idea.

Thanks for your fast reply, once again. Just started burning a couple of these as wav to CD, very simply with Audacity and Nero, so nothing very special there at all. Comparing your (friend's) offerings that I know so well, like the Monks of St Thomas, to the actual cd set, I'm much surprised that I really can't hear any difference in the sound quality at all. They both sound equally great to my old ears. Which makes me wonder: exactly what is it that that the engineers named so prominently in liner notes actually do? In UNCLE's case, it would seem like they just edit the beginnings and ends of the cuts and arrange the orders. Of course, in many other cases producers and engineers add their own artistic tastes and judgements, which is why we have Sonic Adventure here undoing what they've done and turning their alterations back into something listenable.

Seriously, I am sure there are engineers who do much needed engineering and restoration. But your offerings here are certainly not in need of much or any of that. Great stuff! Thank you!!
