You really beat yourself up too much. I don't think you're really a bad person, I don't think there's nothing wrong with you really. I like your posts, I like when you talk, I like your gifs, you don't give us any problem. Your only problem is that you're a bit too sensitive so things like this happens. That's all. But now, directly answering your question, no, you aren't annoying because of your sensitiveness. We are your friends and we like you nonetheless so we bare with it with no problem. You aren't unlikeable because of it, it's you and as friends we learn to bare it and sometimes help you with it, we don't bash you or hate you for it. No one's perfect. And you don't have to worry about your "preferences" because it's really not an issue either. But if you're worried because you've seen sometimes people in this forum openly against it, you shouldn't let that affect you, the majority of people here doesn't really mind it and likes you anyway as a person. I mean, there's all types of people in this world and this forum is too big, so there's all kinds of different people. Just because there's two or three that are mean or judging persons do not mean everyone's like that. :)

This morning was nice, but a bit frustrating - for the first time since I've weekly frequented this particular Costa Coffee, the pretty barista behind the counter actually showed that she recognised me. When she saw me, she smiled and instead of asking the usual "What can I get you?", she asked "Medium hot chocolate with cream?", which was nice. :)

But frustratingly and somewhat typically, that was the last time I'll be going there for quite some time. I actually have no idea when I'll be going back. :sad:

I log on.
Black screen with a cursor.
CTRL+ALT+DLT; Task Manager.
I can use the command promt, but can't open any programs due to a "Side-by-Side Configuration Error".
To fix this I need to open Regedit.exe and edit a certain property, but I can't open Regedit.exe because of the abovementioned.
So, I'm stuffed. All fixes on Google are either fixing the black screen, or fixing the Side-by-Side error. I've got both, and nobody out there as far as I can see, haven't. I can't do anything.

That's how things work in this bureaucratic land, our so-called "Government" insists on "Austerity" which roughly translates to cutting corners on the jobs and the medical field.

For instance, my mother had an unusual tumor on her left breast at the beginning of August and we had to wait until the very end of the month to obtain assistance. Granted it turned out to be a harmless treatable condition that went away quickly but still, waiting 20+ days to treat a potentially mortal condition is nothing sort of pig-headed absurdity.

I've been kind of off the radar in terms of posting and PM's. From July 2014 to February 2015 I lost 170lbs (77kg) in weight through a mixture of diet, exercise and a mindset that probably lost me some acquaintances but allowed me to see who my true friends are. I just wanted the weight off and stopped at nothing.
The last two months have been eternally stressful. A lifestyle change like this bred a lot of resentment in my (former) girlfriend and woke me up to the fact that I never truly loved her. Through July and August I've gone through the mother of all break ups. I wrote off everything and left with nothing (apart from the clothes on my back and a 6TB QNAP server).
I have since met somebody else, who is going through near identical circumstances (including some pretty huge weight loss) and it turns out we have so much in common...our first date was a double bill of Interstellar and Inception at the IMAX in Waterloo. She loved every minute of it (although she's seen the films at home) and asked me on the way home..."do you like Hans Zimmer?"........so yeah :) She's a keeper x

Rather rotten. I've had a stinking cold for the last 24hrs, and my nose is still not drying up! I've gone through a complete crap load of tissues, and my nose is sore. Why won't it stop?!?!

Been feeling this way since yesterday afternoon. I forgot to take a claritin, I think that may be *part* of the issue. I took a nap and skipped dinner last night. Woke up in time for the Modern Family season premiere, fell asleep on the couch, watched Conan and went to bed. Didn't sleep great (though I thought I would given how tired I was, now I'm thinking I should've bought some nightquil to knock me out) and now my head is pounding and my nose is still running. It's 1:47PM, I only got out of bed 10 minutes ago. I don't feel like doing anything, but I feel like I should get out and get some fresh air. Maybe I'll go downtown and chill in the plaza.


I have since met somebody else, who is going through near identical circumstances (including some pretty huge weight loss) and it turns out we have so much in common...our first date was a double bill of Interstellar and Inception at the IMAX in Waterloo. She loved every minute of it (although she's seen the films at home) and asked me on the way home..."do you like Hans Zimmer?"........so yeah :) She's a keeper x

I feel of late this site has gone to... well shit. People have gone (spark tank, lockdown and helix. Lets face it we have not heard from them) and well to me it feels as tho this place is no longer a fun place to be. Some members bully others and think its oaky, funny . But its not. And now some member have left because of it. It is becomeing a lonely place here

Its a horrible place to visit, now and that is sad i used to enjoy the talks and laughs, but that seems to be gone now (granted most are busy with work/school/college ect) but when people are on it now feels like the fun is gone. I'm not a big part of this site conversationally, and obviously I was at the center of the whole sparktank thing, but I hope you understand that the reason I challenged him was for these exact reasons, to keep things light and fun as opposed to oppressive and dark. I certainly didn't want him to up and leave, just take it easy with the delete button. I don't think lockdown leaving had anything to do with this, but maybe more to do with the horrible things going on behind the scenes more than anything else.

I'm feeling rather annoyed. "The Judge" OST automatically synced to my iPod last night, but when I tried to play it just now it threw up the following message:

"While your membership is inactive, your music and playlists will remain in your library, but cannot be played. You can remove them in the Settings app. Renew your membership?"

I never signed up for an Apple Music membership, nor do I want to. So what's all this about?! Anyone else having this trouble?

What does that have to do with Apple Music if it's one album you have on your library?

I honestly haven't a clue. I bought the album on iTunes Store like normal and it automatically synced to my iPod Touch. But it won't play.

I'm feeling strange - no longer a teenager. It's a good feeling. My first birthday at uni. Gonna Skype with a friend who shares my birthday in an hour or so, maybe go for a walk later, and then meet up with a friend and go watch Ridley Scott's next space epic in 3D. Can't wait!

I heard rumors/blatantly false reports of Mothersbaugh and Danna, but never Beck.

You mean, that you think I'll never watch the movies? I could, easily, download full BDs and such. Or the great Despecialized versions, if you're talking about the original. I'm just too lazy and need my speed and I have many, many movies in my list to watch.

I bought the Saga on bluray a few Christmas' ago when they were dirt cheap.
Just don't have the heart to actually watch them.
The Despecialized versions, I've read through the forums for what they do and believe they can do so much more.
But, they've put so much work into it, there's no point in trying to correct some things.
If they did things differently, probably wouldn't really notice a differnce between the different formats.

It was more or less the process of decoding/encoding.

The codes they used are largely upgraded and more accurate today.
Plus, they were working film celluloid captures.
I think film cell is meant to be a different color gamut/colorspace than typical digital formats.
Keeping everything BT.709 is just digital default.
But a colorspace conversion would have helped.

A lot of forums and sites default to the excuse that "they know what they're doing".
But, I can't see celluloid film being BT.709.
Setting it BT.709 would look dry and delapitated.
Setting it higher then downconverting with high-end Avisynth filters would give it the accurate colors it needs for average computers/tv we have today.

Blu-ray uses BT.709 for the colorspace.
It's severely limited, so appears satured when converted from "theater" colors to "bluray/dvd" colors.

Same thing I saw with the "Jurassic Park" preservation project.
But, no one thinks to ask because everyone assumes the Project Leader already covered that when all the details they post don't prove they did.

Film is not called the "Silver Screen" for no reason.

Home video doesn't need a silver TV.
Just a black one.
The colorspace/gamut is much narrower.

Just some things most don't consider.

Terms like "Director Approved" don't ammount to much.
Everyone wants things to look like how it was presented in theater.
But, I think that's where the directors fail: They only make movies for the Silver Screen and not for the home theater (which plenty of people spend thousands on each year).

Blu-rays look excellent because the colorspace has been confined to a minimal space.
Just enough before it gets destroyed and very bland (VHS, etc).

Those sort of things.

You could (and should) learn a lesson or two from him.

The mirror thread is just to let you know what's going to happen.
So doing things my way "anyway" is really based on the collective information I've gathered from a majority of users who wanted something new.
When some creates a new thread, we don't need people posting "another X thread?". All those endless Zimmer threads.
