I have a couple things to say, and yeah, I know, it's all your choices what you watch, and I commend you for it. Remember, these are MY opinions. So, here goes. Naruto is the stupidest shit ever. Great graphics/artwork, but the voice-overs are terrible! Naruto sounds like a dude getting his nutbag sent through a meat grinder. That cartoon is just... stupid. Anyway. Even though I don't have it, but know I damn well should, I watched Cowboy Bebop on Adult Swim for the umpteenth time. I should have watched Skinamax or some other tits and ass show, but I chose CB. I guess I like it too much. Greatest anime ever, says I.

claymore eps.1 and is a good anime and i like it so far
All in all, Madhouse's anime adaptation of Norihiro Yagi's manga was top-notch from episodes 1-19; however, eps. 20-26, especially the last few episodes, were done in a piss poor fashion. Coincidentally, the story starts to divert from the manga at episode 20. Quite frankly, their original take on the series was shoddily produced, so if you're not aware by now, you'll soon find that you were setting yourself up for disappointment.
If you haven't already, I suggest you read the manga. I highly recommend it!

Oh, the last anime I watched must be either School Days or Lovely Complex. I can't remember which.
As you can see, I was really into the school-life-romance genre. I cannot say that I would recommend School Days though. The characters are annoying, they don't develop, and there is alot of hentai portrayal, which I don't like. Although, watching the entire series for the ending may be probably worth it. It's a complete doozy.
Lovely Complex, however, is a thumbs-up fun anime! What I really like about it is that there's a mix of every genre: comedy, drama, romance, etc.

last anime was death note. i'm currently on monster. both are by far the highest standard of anime most would agree i think. is there anything that could top death note on quality of artwork, music and story?
I'd say that lots are better in terms of story, considering that Death Note starts off strong, but settles into the all-too-familiar routine of slowing the pace to draw it out and milk the cash cow. The animation and music may be high quality (I don't know if it stays that way until the end), but that's never enough to salvage a bad story.

I'm a little slow when it comes to watching new stuff. I think I've only randomly decided to watch an anime series I don't know anything about twice. Once being Exel saga and the other was, err well I can't remember it. Either way I haven't been happy with the choices I've picked so I usually wait upon a review or see some screen shots that make it look really appealing. I've just started watching Wolf's Rain in my attempt to watch everything Studio Bones related. And now that I've started I can't believe that I put off watching it for so long its great.
I don't think I've watch anything other than this and Cowboy Bebop that Yoko Kanno has done but I'm starting to see why every one holds her so highly. I love Maaya Sakamoto's song Gravity? Mind you, I've had a soft spot for her ever since Tune the Rainbow. (RahXephon movie)

The most recent anime would have to be Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. I kind of like the combination of science and magic in the series, and it's also my first "Magical Girl" series (I'm too young to have caught Sailor Moon). Aside from the over-long henshin sequences, it's a good show.

I wasn't flaming, nor do I see any response that would warrant such vulgarity. I merely asked how old they were, because I'm 16 and I've viewed I believe 3-4 seasons of Sailor Moon. Then I made a guess on the persons age seeing as I started watching SM at the age of 4-6. It's not as though I was trying to offend or condescend, I just wanted to know.
If there was no offense intended, you should choose your words more carefully. 99 times out of 100, when someone on the internet says that, it's intended to be derogatory.

How old are you? 10?
When I say young, I'm kind of exaggerating, so I'll explain. My parents were one of those old-fashioned couples who didn't get cable for the family until about '98 or '99: a year or two after Sailor Moon went off the air. Actually, I didn't even have my own TV until about the time G Gundam went on the air. So, in a way, I am too young to have caught Sailor Moon.
Now, since Transformers G1 went off the air a month after I was born, I'm too young to have been a part of the original Transformer's fanbase. Make of that what you will.
And don't worry, I'm not offended. It was kind of a weird sentence.

Well, I finished two series yesterday evening and this morning: This Ugly Yet Beautiful World, and Genshiken (2nd season).
The first one left me feeling pretty sad at the end. but Genshiken was not a let-down, other than that I felt it should keep going. I was really quite irritated with Genshiken for a few episodes until now. Sasahara's bad fortune and dreariness was getting on my nerves. I say again, however, it was an excellent ending.
I could definitely tell that Kono minikuku mo Utsukushii Sekai was produced by the same studio as Mahoromatic from the eyes, hair, and faces, but it seemed they did a much better job with environmental details. It was an excellent production.

Did you watch it in chronological order (manga order) or in the messed up order the anime was released in? I heard if you watched it in anime order it is really hard to figure out. I watched it in chronological order and it made perfect sense.
If it is in anime order and you want it in an order that makes sense wiki the show and it has a nice chart that will order it for you at a click of a button.

Carvon
01-11-2008, 07:27 PM
Lucky Star. I broke my tradition of watching one ep a day, and somehow haven't gotten back into that.
Both ways have merit. While it is more cohesive if you watch it in chronological order, it also ends on a rather low note. The episodes were scrambled so that it could end with the first novel's climax instead of the lesser material from the short stories that followed. Anyway, the main story is still presented in the proper order, just with other episodes dropped in between them.
jewess crabcake
01-11-2008, 07:58 PM
I'll watch it in this order now then if I have the time I'll watch it in the other order. Also which is better Subbed version or Dubbed, I'm currently watching Dubbed because it's less straining on the eyes.
It has a pretty good dub for the most part, so you might as well stick with that if subs give you any problems. I would give the edge to the Japanese version, but just for the slightly malevolent edge in Haruhi's voice, and people who typically watch only dubbed anime probably wouldn't detect that anyway, so you're not really losing anything.
Erebus Wraith
01-11-2008, 08:23 PM
it also ends on a rather low note
Yeah that is true, having the big ending at like episode 6 was kind of a drag but when I watched it I noticed that in many episodes referenced the "last" episode. I personally prefer to see what they are referencing before they reference it instead of waiting till the end and thinking "Oh, so that's what they were talking about".
But you are right Prak. The "last" episode in the anime work have been a lot better if it was the actual last episode instead of mid-way.
I have been reading that they are making a second season. Other reports say they are doing some type of movie-thing. Do any of you know if any of them are true?
They're doing a new season. It'll probably be formatted exactly like the last one since it's being built around a book (The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya) and a few short stories.
On another note, the books really are worth checking out. You can find them translated here (
http://www.baka-tsuki.net/project/index.php?title=Suzumiya_Haruhi). There's no harm in skipping the first if you saw the anime, but I especially recommend reading the second one. It tells about the filming of the movie shown in the first episode, which is more bizarre than even the anime episode would lead you to believe.

I'm going to admit to some disturbance in my moral conduct, I've been watching Bleach for the past two days because my other stuff isnt done torrenting and I'm pretty damn bored. Stone me later but I'm starting to enjoy it ;_;;;;
Characters have grown on me, some more than others (Byakuya and Yachiru ♥ ) but still a large enough group to keep me watching. Bleach is really good, I don't know what season you're on but all I can say is Ichigo gets further developed character wise and in terms of sheer will and strength. Any way I'm not saying it's perfect but it is a bit addictive.

What I mean by huge anime is the amount of episodes. I like to own (whether boxsets or downloaded) my anime. Naruto was easy to get because a friend had them all in .avi on his computer. Bleach would be more complicated to hunt down all the episodes. I also have been trying to steer clear of torrent sites. *shrug* Perhaps I will download some episodes of Bleach and see if it's worth the effort to hunt it down.

Yeah this episode was really good. It's some intense action but Naruto is outta control. I have been wondering how Naruto will get out of the 4 tail form. He is so angry. I don't read the manga so I am pumped to see how this all turns out.
