KH's remix-version of the famous classic FFVII song, also used for the hidden battles with Sephiroth in both games, though it only appears on KH2's OST. It's more like the original rushed with stuff cut out than a remix, but there are some parts that sound different.

This upbeat twinkly theme is actually one of the Gummi route themes for KH2, for the "Storm" routes, both of which actually happen to be far apart from each other unlike most common pair routes. They both bridge the way to the "dead end"s like Colosseum and Pride Lands.

Another boss theme, one from KH2. This is the one mainly for the "Heartless" bosses, it's like KH2's Shrouding Dark Cloud (kinda sounds like a remix of it a bit), but used for those kinds of bosses like the Hostile Program (probably what it's named after) or the Grim Reaper, etc.

Here I'd go with The Corrupted.

This time the gummi theme dominates the boss. KH2 boss themes just aren't all that popular, it seems.

Another KH2 boss theme, sort of. It's used in some boss battles, but originally in battles with a bunch of Heartless or Nobodies, I think the first time is the Nobodies in Hollow Bastion with Leon. Sounds a lot like "Dance to the Death" which has yet to appear... pretty much an alternative to it.

Another version of "Hand in Hand" (the original already won this round), played at some point during the ending sequence of KH1. More orchestrated, except it doesn't loop since it's an ending theme and all.

I vote for Desire For All That Is Lost. "Reprise" is my least favorite version of Hand in Hand. KH2's HH is coming up soon and that's basically a better version of what this one tries to do.

BTW: This battle puts us halfway through the first round! lol, yep, 56 battles, hard to believe we're only halfway through round 1. Hope we make it to the end before the site closes.

I personally liked all the boss battles in KH2. However, "The Corrupted" vs "Cloudchasers"... I chose the better of the two, IMO.

Yeah... the main theme of KH for both games on the main menu and probably has other versions of it in the end or whatever. But keep in mind when voting that this is the ONLY version I'm using in this rumble! The others aren't all that drastically different anyway.

Kairi's theme! Another classic, played in scenes or flashbacks involving Kairi, used in both games. One thing I didn't understand though (someone here can probably enlighten me), while KH2 just has a track called "Kairi" (which is this as well), KH1 has "Kairi 1", "Kairi 2" and "Kairi 3". Well, after exercising my ears to try and spot a difference, I keep listening to 1 and 2 and they sound exactly identical! Am I missing something? Well, anyway, this represents both of those and the one from KH2, but "Kairi 3" is different and will show up sometime later separately.

Tough call... well, hmm, actually pretty easy. I vote Kairi. Yeah, definitely.

Both versions of these songs are actually a bit different in both games. But since you lumped them together, it's definitely going to be difficult to select one over the other.

I actually prefer Kairi in KH2 over KH1's version (all three), as well as Dearly Beloved in KH2 over KH1's version.

I think I'll go with Dearly Beloved for this one since I adore KH2's version of this song.

My vote is easily for Deep Drive. One of my favorite battle music, and might I add that Traverse Town numbs my brain after a while to the point where I couldn't listen to it anymore, Deep Drive didn't exhibit such a phenomenon.

Special theme from the staff roll of KH2. Long piece consisting of many parts, perfect for a parade. Also almost entirely original, you'd expect credits to have a medley of other KH songs like Dearly Beloved or Hand in Hand. Original epic end credits theme... well, at the end there is a operatic theme which sounds a lot like Destati, followed by a little bit of the O13 themes and DB. Okay, I lied, there is a medley at the end, followed by an orchestrated closure.

Here we have a very classic Disney theme that goes way back. Ah, The Mickey Mouse Club. While in KH1 you just get a minuscule taste of it during the beginning scene at the Castle, it's more utilized to it's full potential in KH2 when you can actually visit the Castle. So yeah, basically the theme of Disney Castle. Which oddly doesn't have battle music, as there are never any battles there anymore at all after you visit it the first time. And when there are, the battle theme stays even after you clear all the monsters, like there is no music change in and out of battle mode.


If you know me, you know that despite my colorful unbiased description, I'm not a fan of long-winded ending related themes unless they actually get to me somehow. Mickey Mouse Club March it is. Though I was kind of disappointed with the Disney Castle world, had a total of what, four screens?

Well, it was up against DB, so fair enough. This is a special version of Kairi's theme composed with bells. KH1 exclusive, it's used in the flashback scene with Kairi in her house.

I really have my fingers crossed for An Adventure In Atlantica. It's quite good, overlooked by all those other Atlantica songs. And I'm not so much a fan of this version of Kairi.

The funky psychedelic battle music of Space Paranoids. Its main theme lost already, how will this do? This is also used for an event in Hollow Bastion when you battle Space Paranoids monsters that appear there that indicate that the "virus" is spreading and the MCP is taking over.

Not to be confused by the title, this is not a theme for a boss. This is actually a 30-second background theme for the scene where Xehanort and Mickey taunt each other, right before he summons the 1000 Heartless to fight. Sinister Shadows already won, quite deservingly... this serves as kind of a lead-in to that. Epic buildup to an epic theme.


I'm happy with Sinister Shadows in the second round as it is. Byte Bashing for me. Plus I'm not all that into 30-second themes, especially ones with a misleading title...

Like Miracle, it seems the short-tracks can't seem to win, but this was a very close battle! Byte Bashing is a pretty interesting piece.

One of them boss themes from KH1! It's one of the last ones you get to hear, the first time you hear it is very late in the game, I believe when you're fighting Ursula for the second time close up, hence the name. While that was a hard battle, it seems the pattern of bosses is which this theme is used, is that they're all very hard and challenging bosses! The Ice Titan, Kurt Zisa, Malificent's Dragon... all bosses that drive you off the deep end.

This happy theme is played in, guess where, your starting point, the Destiny Islands. Yeah... racing, walking around looking for supplies, finding secrets... KH1 had a great start. There was also a variation of this theme at the end of KH2, and it'll show up later...

This is a very hard choice. I like KH1's Destiny Islands better obviously, but I'm gonna have to vote for The Deep End. It reminds me of why I liked KH1 boss themes better than KH2's, as well as the challenging feeling of some of the battles that you don't get very often in the sequel, and I'd rather see it in the next round (if we ever make it that far)...

I love the battle themes for KH1 (mostly), but even so, Destiny Islands gets my vote. I love to pop the game in and start over just to hear it.

So... I vote for A Twinkle In the Sky. Sure it would suck not to have either DI in the next round, but I'm not a fan of this version. I'm satisfied enough that the other one put up a good fight.

So, this battle wasn't as much of a blowout as it was for Precious Stars, but still, the map wins again. Oh well, bad luck for Destiny Islands, too bad it missed both its shots. At least it put up a good fight in the last battle and we still have plenty more to go!

The theme for the Beast's Castle, a world introduced in KH2. They did an amazing job with this place... especially the waltz music. The battle theme for this place already won this round in a tie break, let's just see how this will do. I remember this being one of the places I spent most of my time harvesting items for synthesis. That's mainly what this theme reminds me of... all those creepy gargoyles coming to life.

The 100 Acre Wood's mini-game theme. The main reason it's not on the KH2 OST is because the OST has the sped up version for the honey mini-game (which I didn't include in this). Anyway, yeah, seeing as the 100 Acre Wood doesn't have battles, it's gotta have some alternative music, so this is it, for mini-games. Some of them were quite something, especially for you completionists trying to complete the journal in KH2 or get Sora's Cheer in KH1. Pretty catchy music... too bad the main theme for the wood lost.

Bounce-o-Rama is is on KHII's original soundtrack, but they used a sped-up version for that game and it's that version that's on KHII's soundtrack. Anyways, Waltz of the Diamond, though that's a mistranslation and the proper title for that piece is "Waltz of the Damned."

Are you sure about that? MANY sites I've been to list it as "Diamond" and I've only seen "Damned" about twice. I guess it makes more sense... who knows. Also I meant the original Bounce-O-Rama is not on KH2's OST, the Sped-up version alone is. But the original version is used in the GAME, but isn't on the OST.

Okay, I get what mean on the second part. As for the first part, yeah, I'm sure. Just Google it, using quotation marks. Not only will "Waltz of the Damned" get you more hits, it's the name that's used on Amazon.com, KH2.co.uk, Wikipedia and the Kingdom Hearts Wiki, to name just a few sites.

This nice piano/string theme is used in the Destiny Islands flashback scenes in KH1 from when Sora and Riku were kids. Tough choice... meh, A Fight to the Death I suppose. Though that theme has potential for being better than it is, but it'll get my vote this round.

Not that I know what those words mean, but this be the mainstream battle theme for Hollow Bastion, both of them. While the world's main theme is different in both games, this stays pretty much the same. Pretty cool battle track to go with it...


It'll probably lose, but I'm gonna vote for Tricksy Clock. It brings back the good times of having just started KH for the first time, and landing in the first Disney-themed world.

One of KH2's challenge-battle themes, usually when you're pitted against a group of Heartless, but also rarely some bosses, much like "Desire For All That Is Lost" which it sounds a lot like and already won. It also sort of as the main battle theme for Disney Castle, except there are no battles there anymore after it's done, and when there are, the music is still heard after you kill all the heartless, and played constantly in rooms where there are encounters. Catchy and somewhat memorable.

The Colosseum... which is more used to its full potential in KH1, in 2 it's overshadowed by the underworld, but still there sort of. This is the theme you hear there. Unfortunately its battle theme didn't make it past this round, but how will this do? The Underworld themes also have yet to show up...

One from the first, and one from the second. This is a theme used in most event battles with a bunch of Heartless, an alternative to Dance to the Death which just one. This one's got more of a catchy memorable tune, and has had some mixes made of it.

Pretty much the main theme song of KH1, the top song it's commercialized for mostly. Sung by Utada Hikaru, this is the regular version of it played at the very end of KH1. It's got a couple remixes that have yet to show up here (I know, the round's almost over, but believe me, they're in this). This is the plain simple and clean version (pun intended obviously).

The KH2-original Organization XIII boss battle theme. An alternative to "The 13th Struggle" which came from CoM, this one originated in KH2 and is used in more of the O13 boss battles, mostly the harder ones.

I vote for Simple and Clean, easily. The 13th Dilemma is no 13th Struggle, in fact it's a disappointment in comparison to that, they should have just kept the 13th Struggle in all the O13 boss fights.

This is it, the final Atlantica song in KH2's last level. Also the last shot for it making the second round. It's completely original to the game, which is pretty apparent by the lyrics. The level itself is rather tricky, though!

Yet another loss for KH2's Atlantica... wow, even their original finale song couldn't make it! 'Tis a shame for them... but Monstrous Monstro is a great battle theme and hard to compete with, so it's certainly fitting that it won.

Another one of the Hikari's, the main one just narrowly one. This is the short instrumental version played during one of the key parts of the game, after revisiting Hollow Bastion and getting turned into a Heartless, this is used during Sora's transformation back when he recovers his heart. A very fitting song for that scene.

So, a while ago both the Colosseum theme as well as "Go For It!" the battle theme lost this round, it seemed like the Colosseum was getting shafted... well, it actually has one last shot (well, there's also the two Underworld themes coming up). This baby right here is the challenge theme, used during Phil's training games with the barrels. It's also used in KH2 (but like I said, not on the OST for some reason) during Phil's challenge of that game, that being collecting 1000 orbs while whacking around. Ever accomplish that?

Agrabah... Aladdin. Huge very long stage of the game, very nice Arab style music. Sounds kind of like a combination of FFX-2's Guadosalam and FFVIII's "Only a Plank" Unfortunately this is the only Agrabah track in this rumble, the battle theme wasn't included. Like I've said, it's been hard to decide, can't make space for everyone.

I think I'm a go with A Day In Agrabah, it's pretty good once it picks up. I'm a fan of anything middle-eastern sounding. Plus Aladdin was the first movie I ever saw in theaters in my life. haha

I'm not sure about the title, but this can serve as a sort of King Mickey's theme figure. In KH1 it's heard as Goofy and Donald are setting off on their journey before leaving the castle, and in KH2 you hear it when you're reunited with Mickey in Ansem's study. There's probably other times too... yeah, this sounds pretty cool.

So... Halloween Town, with the main theme song of The Nightmare Before Christmas, appearing in both KH games. I was kind of expecting there to be new music in Christmas Town, but oh well, the only thing that changed was the menu scheme. Also, ironically, the battle theme for this appeared in the FIRST battle... and lost. Now perhaps its time for Halloween Town to make a comeback at the end after this long haul of a round?

Or Daring, whatever you want to call it. The battle theme for the Beast's Castle, a KH2 exclusive world. A perfect speedy contrast to the main theme for that place.

So we just had a main world theme battle between a KH1 and KH2 exclusive world... now the exact same thing with battle themes. This time Dance of the Darling gets my vote.
