Not a summon, he's the four-armed guy stalking you in Alexandria.

Dude my memory is failing me first part is right but isn't he just hanging out in Daguerreo?

The guy in Danguerreo is Gilgamesh. The other guy in Alexandria is somebody else, called Jack, and he teaches you how to play cards.

Gilgamesh is not a summon in FF IX, but was a summon in previous FFs.

Ooh, I think I can get this...

- In the weapons store in Lindblum, there is a sword that looks like Cloud's Buster Sword. Zidane comments on it.

- The band-members of Tantalus play "Rufus's Welcoming March"

- In the ending, there is the phrase "No cloud, no squall"

Okay, Alexandria Castle, Chocobo Forest, and Qu's Marsh?

There's a total of four instances in the game where the "Theme of the Tantalus" is played, what are they?

Sorry, can't think of anything else.

Arcanine
07-21-2009, 11:30 PM
- when marcus and blank get to Ruby's theater, downstairs from the alley you meet Alleyway Jack/Gilgamesh? in, and get scolded by ruby for being late.

- when Baku is wandering around at night in front of Alexandria Castle in the city of Alexandria and the river boat and crossing and stairs where Eiko dropped her love letter written by Dr. Tot.

-when Cinna refuses one of the Enero brothers his hammer in front of the Lindblum based Tantalus hideout.

- flashback when zidane is walking out of the Treno auction house and bumps into and meets for the first time Amarant as one of the guards.

????

in madain sari i think there's one too...it's a melody tune...

Zak
07-23-2009, 08:05 AM
Sorry Arcanine, only one of those is correct. Another is close but not quite.

Enkidoh
07-23-2009, 11:06 AM
Damn, it's been so long since I last played FFIX, but I do remember that theme played towards the end of disc 3, when Zidane is searching Alexandria for Garnet just before the launch of the Hilda Garde III airship.

There are of course other instances where it's played, but that's about the only one I remember.

Zak
07-23-2009, 02:04 PM
Well Enkidoh, I was expecting people to post four as a guess, that's why I didn't tell Arcanine which one of his was correct, much like Agent didn't tell us in our guesses in the last question since it was a "list" question, but since I didn't specify that I will tell you that that is indeed one of them.

One of the ones that Arcanine posted is another (but I didn't say which one), and there are two more.

FF1WithAllThieves

- the South Gate bundt cake tardiness incident between Cinna and Baku?

Zak
07-25-2009, 12:43 AM
Sorry, not one.

Shadow mage
07-25-2009, 01:47 AM
Okay, This is what I think:

-Rebuilding of Tantalus hideout with hammer incident.
-Scene in Alexandria when Tantalus try to 'cheer up' Zidane(start of disk 3)
-Scene when Steiner tells Tantalus abot how Dagger/Garnet is missing.
-???I dont know???Maybe the scene in Alexandria castle when you are dressed in a Knight of Pluto outfit searching to kidnap the Princess right at the start fo the game.

Zak
07-25-2009, 09:01 AM
Only two of those are correct, Shadow... as for which two, you'll have to guess again...

I'll note that one of them that hasn't been mentioned yet is rather tricky and I'm not sure I expect anyone to get it.

Arcanine
07-26-2009, 07:48 AM
tricky..as in it's a scene without a member of tantulus physically in it but could be mentioned by someone else in the scene?

- Rebuilding of Tantalus hideout with hammer incident.

- Scene in Alexandria when Tantalus try to 'cheer up' Zidane(start of disk 3)

it is kind of a slow tune, so dramatic scenes should be out? and I remember anyway that waiting in stolen knights of pluto outfits in the guard room during the kidnap Garnet scenes that it was silent like in the Tantalus ship (what's that things name? not Hilda Guard or Red Rose or Invincible...) board room when Baku asks you whether to kidnap Brahne or Garnet.

how 'bout:

- when its night time and Zidane and Garnet are in the bunk beds at Black Mage Village and Zidane tells her about his past? (about the beating and the blue skies or ocean having some instinctual effect on him which is because of Terra and Bran Bal and all.)

- when Baku's conferencing and deliberating if anyone is going to search for Garnet after the crash landing in Evil Forest

- when you're attacked by insanely huge axe wielding Lani in the underground passage to Outer Continent from Qu's Marsh

...Not when Garnet's changing at East Gate with Steiner in an alley?

Zak
07-26-2009, 08:36 AM
No, not exactly, it does involve Tantalus.

And... you mentioned like, seven different scenes. It's preferred you guess four or less next time, seeing as there are only four and I haven't been telling anyone which of their guesses are correct, unless that was the only thing they guessed, like Enkidoh (so you should know that's one of them). Plus, it was hard to tell since you didn't denote everything with a line.

But anyway, all the scenes you mentioned above, only one is correct.

Shadow mage
07-27-2009, 04:51 AM
Does the first scene count when Tantalus are planning their scheme. Because the music there is the same tune but it is jus slower thats all.

Zak
07-27-2009, 08:57 AM
Yeah, it's built on the same melody, but it's called "Strategy Conference".

I'm looking for one where it plays specifically the "Theme of the Tantalus". A lot of what's been guessed are scenes that play "We Are Theives!" which is a very similar variation.

Arcanine
07-27-2009, 11:11 PM
-when Cinna refuses one of the Enero brothers his hammer in front of the Lindblum based Tantalus hideout.

-when Zidane is searching Alexandria for Garnet just before the launch of the Hilda Garde III airship.

-Alexandria when Tantalus try to 'cheer up' Zidane(start of disk 3)

-when Zidane catches up with Freya in a bar in Lindblum during Garnet's visit to Cid to stop Brahne from making war with anyone

:/

Zak
07-28-2009, 01:54 AM
2 right, 2 wrong.

Agent0042
07-28-2009, 02:04 AM
This has been kicking around for too long. Arcanine's question in 24 hours if nobody can do better.

Shadow mage
07-28-2009, 08:25 AM
-Alexandria when Tantalus 'cheer up' Zidane
-When Cinna Refuses to give his hammer to one of the Nero Bros.
-At the start when Tantalus discuss their plans.
-What about when Cinna is making 'coffee' after the team's escape from evil forest.

Zak
07-28-2009, 08:46 AM
Only one of those is correct.

Agent, is it alright if I get a little more time on this one? I mean, some guesses were close...

vorvel
07-28-2009, 11:20 AM
I'll give this a shot :D

Judging by the order of the soundtrack, the first time "Theme of Tantalus" is played is when you're in control of Dagger and join up with Marcus to search for the Supersoft in Treno. That is near the start of disc 2 so then I'm guessing no parts in disc one had this theme played.

I'm guessing the next time you hear it is after Linblum is attacked and Tantalus begins to rebuild thier hideout shown in an ATE where Cinna doesn't want one of the Enero brothers to borrow his hammer.

Judging by the correct guesses here, another time its played is when Zidane searches for Dagger before the Hilda Garde 3 launch. Near when she gets her voice back I believe.

Another I believe is an ATE scene with the Enero brothers talking to each other in the synth shop in Alexandria.

Agent0042
07-28-2009, 03:30 PM
Zak-- just so long as we get something going here soon.

FF1WithAllThieves
07-28-2009, 04:31 PM
I was thinking it was the one with the clavinet the whole time. No wonder I was so mixed up. Alright...

-When Cinna refuses to give up his hammer.
-When Zidane is searching for Garnet just before she cuts her hair.
-The reunion of the Enero brothers.
-An ATE in which Blank realizes he forgot to deliver Zidane a message.

I can't come up with anything better than this. Couldn't you have picked one that doesn't sound so much like another one? *grumbles in frustration*

Zak
07-28-2009, 07:18 PM
Vorvel and FF1, each got two correct.

And Agent, okay... just so you know, though, before I had thought that it's if whoever asked the question or whoever got it right goes inactive it moves on. I guess I could give it up if no one gets it, but damn, I want someone to get this...

I'll give a small hint: Even though none of the guesses have gotten more than two correct at a time, a total of three of the correct ones have been said, the fourth hasn't. That should help narrow it down based on what's been guessed so far, if you're good at logic and deduction.

FF1WithAllThieves
07-28-2009, 10:51 PM
Is one of them an ATE in which Baku realizes he forgot to deliver Eiko's letter?

Zak
07-29-2009, 12:01 AM
Negative.

vorvel
07-29-2009, 02:13 PM
perhaps one time its played is when cinna can't find his hammer. (I think that happened, I can't clearly remember.)

the only other part I can think of is where they go to Ruby's theatre in Alexandria disc 3. I think you're in control of Vivi and Blank invites you to go there.

hmm... But honestly I am sure its played during the first time you enter Treno with Dagger. k... what happens there. If its not in the time when you enter Treno and before you see kuja in the auction house, then it could only be somewhere near the southgate/railway thing near when you fight black waltz 3. I think you meet Cinna and Marcus there at the station.

wait wait wait... maybe its also played when Baku enters the castle in Alexandria and this is also where Eiko gets caught on the rail and the letter drops and gets Baku to give that letter to Zidane.

Or or or or or when after he drops the letter near the river and later on laughs when he can't seem to find it on him.

So I apparently have two... what about these?

You're really testing my memory and fan capabillity D: I no like you.

Zak
07-29-2009, 02:28 PM
This time only ONE of the ones you just mentioned is correct.

vorvel
07-29-2009, 02:34 PM
so... I have three? o.oa

Zak
07-29-2009, 02:44 PM
No. Your first post had two correct answers, the one you just made had only one, that doesn't necessarily mean you had three.

vorvel
07-29-2009, 02:53 PM
Oh I see. Then I'll try with four complete answers this time. :p

The scene where Cinna doesn't want one of the Enero brothers to borrow his hammer.

When Zidane searches for Dagger near after the events in Mt Gulug and before you set off on the Hilda Garde 3.

Maybe the scene when Marcus keeps correcting Baku for saying Dr. Tot's name wrong.

I'm recalling that its Eiko's theme playing when she drops the letter... so I'll have to go with the scene where Baku drops the letter near the canal and later on laughs when he can't seem to find it on him.

Quite the challenge. XD

Zak
07-29-2009, 03:23 PM
Back to a total of two correct. Heh.

Arcanine
07-30-2009, 11:09 PM
1.
so like..these are all at least the same one, not that you can mention if it's correct or not.

-Scene when Steiner tells Tantalus abot how Dagger/Garnet is missing.

-when Zidane is searching Alexandria for Garnet just before the launch of the Hilda Garde III airship.

-When Zidane searches for Dagger near after the events in Mt Gulug and before you set off on the Hilda Garde 3.

2.

are these the same?

-The scene where Cinna doesn't want one of the Enero brothers to borrow his hammer.

-perhaps one time its played is when cinna can't find his hammer. And then he argues with one of the enero bros. on a ladder about how lending his hammer is like lending your ____. and he can't find it because it's in the players inventory haha.

or he has the hammer and doesn't want to give it out?

either way its a scene eh.

3. (checked the previous posts it doesn't look like there's been three mentioned altogether..)

-
3.? - Judging by the order of the soundtrack, the first time "Theme of Tantalus" is played is when you're in control of Dagger and join up with Marcus to search for the Supersoft in Treno. That is near the start of disc 2 so then I'm guessing no parts in disc one had this theme played.

THIS IS SAME AS 1.: Judging by the correct guesses here, another time its played is when Zidane searches for Dagger before the Hilda Garde 3 launch. Near when she gets her voice back I believe.

1.
so like..these are all at least the same one, not that you can mention if it's correct or not.

I normally wouldn't, but I will in the end now since I'm being kicked off.

Those actually aren't all the same, the first is different from the other two it takes place in Lindblum. The other two are the same though.

2.

are these the same?

-The scene where Cinna doesn't want one of the Enero brothers to borrow his hammer.

-perhaps one time its played is when cinna can't find his hammer. And then he argues with one of the enero bros. on a ladder about how lending his hammer is like lending your ____. and he can't find it because it's in the players inventory haha.

or he has the hammer and doesn't want to give it out?

either way its a scene eh.

Yes they're the same.

3. (checked the previous posts it doesn't look like there's been three mentioned altogether..)

- (vorvel's quote)

Nice deduction there, the "SAME AS 2" is correct, and since your 1 is actually two different ones, his third answer is same as part of your "1". And yes, the Supersoft thing would be a new one so far so I'm taking it that's your "3".

4. Checked scripts online for ffix and there's actually one but the text is in french XP. But it is intelligible that it's right before Cinna wants to make coffee after exiting evil forest.

Okay.

So... seeing as your "1" covers two different things, that's actually a total of five guesses. But nice job, you're the first to mention a total of three correct. I'd love to keep this going, but I guess I will give it to you since Agent's kicking me off :P

But anyway, these were the answers I was looking for:

1. As most of you guessed, the hammer incident ATE in Lindblum.

2. An ATE in Lindblum where Steiner goes and tells Tantalus about Garnet being missing and asks for their help, also at the construction site (some of you got this).

3. Alexandria when Zidane is searching for Dagger right before she cuts her hair and the boarding of Hilda Garde 3. A lot of you got this one as well (Arcanine I don't know how you got that this was the same as the second one I listed, ones in Alexandria and one's an ATE in Lindblum).

So the above three were all mentioned a lot, but Arcanine was the first to mention all three at once. There is one more, though, which has not been guessed by anyone, and I'm not surprised as it is tricky! This is it:

4. During your third time in Lindblum, right before you get the Blue Narciss, at one point in the Business District there's a scene where Quina is eating the Gysahl pickles from the stand (this isn't it yet). Zidane ends up being forced to pay 100 gil for it. BUT, if Zidane doesn't have 100 gil (which would be absurd and unlikely to happen naturally, you'd have to purposely spend down to below 100 gil to do this), then someone else must suffer. If this happens, around when you leave Lindblum, you get to see an ATE called "Give Me My Money" where Baku has to pay for the pickles instead. Our very own "Theme of the Tantalus" is played during this elusive ATE.

I didn't know this ATE existed until my third playthrough where I was using walkthroughs and letting myself watch every scene in the game (of course I didn't save after having seen that ATE for obvious reasons). Did any of you who have been guessing know about it?

BTW, a lot of you kept guessing the gate coffee scene and the stuff in Alexandria at the start of Disc 3. What plays then is "We Are Thieves!" a variation of the Tantalus theme.

Anyway, go on Arcanine.

Shadow mage
07-31-2009, 11:01 AM
Oh Snap! That was a tricky(but good) one. Well Done Zak on picking that one up!

Arcanine

the question is..did Agent know??

poll:
I didn't know this ATE existed until my third playthrough where I was using walkthroughs and letting myself watch every scene in the game (of course I didn't save after having seen that ATE for obvious reasons). Did any of you who have been guessing know about it?

Not I. Don't have the game or system anymore and didn't do any extra stuff before losing access to it, or my only sister has it and is another thing she'll never tell me for the rest of my life.

08-13-2009, 02:33 AM
Fine, okay, sorry I'm late, couldn't thing of anything better, so another music question (groans in the background) but this one is easier! I promise!

If you look at a list of the songs on the "Plus" soundtrack (I won't consider that cheating for this question), it's apparent that most of them are mainly for FMVs. There are a few exceptions, however, like some non-FMV scenes with dialogue, and such. So which one is not only not an FMV, but also not a scene, i.e. the background for an entire location, where you control? Specify the said location as well.

You may look at a list of them, and even listen if you want, just no youtube.

Shinra Parade Millenium version? It plays inside part of the theater ship only during an ATE.

Zak
08-14-2009, 03:57 AM
That's indeed one of the exceptions. However, I specified I was looking for a place where you control. By that, I mean... walk around in, and stuff, not just press X to go between lines of dialogue. Sorry if that was unclear. But usually when I say a whole location, that should mean not a "scene" not part where you just press X and read dialogue, thought that was clear enough.

FF1WithAllThieves

Enkidoh
12-06-2009, 10:08 AM
Ships, as in 'airships'? Or boats that float on water?

Because you weren't clear on this, I'm going to list both (due to there only being one actual 'boat' card):

Hilda Garde I (85), Hilda Garde III (82), Invincible (83), Red Rose (86), Viltgance (88), Theater Ship (Prima Vista) (87), Cargo Ship (84), Blue Narcissus (81) and Airship (FFV Airship) (100).

Technically, Ark (67) could also qualify as an 'airship' of sorts, but it's card is officially classed as an ediolon card, so I guess that doesn't count. ;)

impudent urinal

It makes it dusk (sunset), then as you move closer to Treno, it becomes night time.

Enkidoh

That's incorrect.

I'll give a clue: the beach I'm after is on the east coast of the Mist Continent, and does something to your characters if you fulfill a certain requirement. ;)

And the name of this location hints at what it actually does to your party in the right circumstances. ;)

Shadow mage

The Healing Shores - it heals your entire party for full HP/MP (and I think status, not sure on that) if you've gained Choco's restorative ability by previously having had him visit all the beaches in the world and pressing square.

Red Mage. I'm like 99% sure.

Enkidoh
12-12-2009, 03:03 PM
That's correct Smarty. :D

Red Mages only appear as NPCs wandering around Alexandria, Treno and Lindblum (they're even identified as such in the dialogue box if you speak to them). Interestingly, they appear to be Burmecian too, but I digress.

Go ahead and ask a question when you're ready. :)

Smarty
12-12-2009, 04:26 PM

In Burmecia, the first time, you save one man from a falling statue. Later in the game you meet him again with his family. When and where do you meet him again?("When" as in before or after what.)

Unusual potion, Beautiful potion and Strange potion with a ratio of 5:2:3 repectively.

Darth Revan
12-18-2009, 11:17 AM
The rewards you get, depend on when you give each stellazio to Queen Stella. Rewards range from gil (1,000g - 30,000g), to items like Phoenix Pinion, Rosetta Ring, Black Belt etc. The last item you can get from her is a Hammer I think... which allows you to witness an extra scene when you finish the game.

7alentine
12-19-2009, 03:09 AM
You need to buy and re-sell the Rats Tail, Doga's Artifact, Une's Mirror, and Lions Heart, then go to Diugerro and talk to the scholar, he asks for the Magical Fingertip, return to the Treno auction house and purchase it. Then trade it to the scholar for the Excalibur.

Darth Revan
12-19-2009, 08:34 AM
Close, but not fully correct.

Agent0042
12-20-2009, 12:24 AM
It's the Griffin's Heart, but 7alentine can have the question. I'm about not about to poach it when he got everything else right.

Darth Revan
12-20-2009, 02:38 AM
The question I asked was one with multiple questions in it, aka a trick question of sorts.

Name the four items needed to obtain Excalibur; the four NPC's who you sell them to; what item you need to buy from the Treno Auction house and who you have to give that item to receive the weapon.

I'll break it down so it's easy for people to read.

Name the four items needed to obtain Excalibur
Doga's Artifact, Une's Mirror, Griffin's Heart, Rat Tail

the four NPC's who you sell them to
All in Treno:
Doga's Artifact to the Scholar in the Synthesis shop, Une's Mirror to the Nobleman outside the Cafe Carta, Griffin's Heart to the Adventurer outside the Cafe Carta, Rat Tail to the Adventurer outside the Cafe Carta

what item you need to buy from the Treno Auction house
the Magical Fingertip at the Treno Auction

And finally
who you have to give that item to receive the weapon
Old Man outside of the inn in Daguerreo

Then the Old Man will give you the Excalibur.

That was the answer I was wanting. Give the question to whoever you want

Agent0042
12-20-2009, 03:51 AM
See, I didn't even try because I knew the basics of the answers, but as far as the specific people, I go for those by trial and error (except for the last one-- that I know offhand), so I couldn't have gotten the specifics. I say give it to 7alentine, he got most of the details.

Darth Revan
12-20-2009, 07:59 AM
Seems a bit... no, I won't say anything else, as it could be construed as starting an arguement and tbh I can't be bothered. Like I said at the end of my last post, give the question to whoever wants it. I couldn't care less, just when a question is asked which does ask for specifics, not generalizations, it'd be nice if it was answered with the specifics in mind.

My question did ask for specifics, not a broad generalization but w/e, can't be bothered going into detail about why I asked the question the way I did etc etc etc.

Free question to next poster imo.

feralanima

She has assumed three forms: a young girl, a grown woman and a snow fairy.

Enkidoh
12-25-2009, 04:32 AM
Correct. According to the Eidolon Wall, with Shiva's changing appearance the summoners theorized that the eidolons adapt their forms to the myths and legends current to that time, rather than myths and stories originating from the eidolons.

Anyway, Feral got it. Go ahead and post a question when you're ready. :)

I don't recall that being possible (?). Highest I've ever heard of is 99 with a flawless instant speed game. You can get a high score on whatever try you want, it should just depend on your skill in the scene.

I could be wrong. I hated that scene.

Okay, this could be a toughie (I only found about it myself recently), but let's give it a try-- when you first visit the trunk of Cleyra, there is a treasure chest that you simply cannot reach. It's only possible to obtain the contents of this treasure chest (which contains a Silk Robe) by completing certain events in town. So what do you have to do to get this treasure chest?

Seru_Kai

Agent0042
01-04-2010, 06:33 AM
Actually, by the time you've saved Puck, it's already too late to trigger the event that gets you this. Though, in a certain way, you're actually kinda close with that answer. Not gonna say more than that at this point, though.

Seru_Kai

I may be thinking of a different game, but can't you save a kid or two from falling? (it's similar to Kilika in FFX, where you can save a kid from falling, then go back and get a treasure). That's pretty much all I got, I really need to play this again.

Yeh that is a hard one i think.. It would have to have something to do with saving, or letting people die.

im going to say you use the ATE where Puck is running up the trunk?

Owen Sanchez

It's the one where Quina goes in search of food and you have to save 'em. "No Munchies" or something like that the ATE is called.

Agent0042

It does have to do with Quina, but there's more to it then that.

Szczepan
01-05-2010, 12:12 AM
First you have to watch No Yummy-Yummies and There A Mushroom! ATE's, in order to find Quina near the sand whirpool ( where later there will be Antlion boss fight ). Quina will jump into it thinking it's an ice cream and Zidane will jump right after to save her/him. Thanks to this they will land in an area that was unaccessible before with two chests - Silk Robe and Magician Shoes (hidden). That's all, i think.

Agent0042
01-05-2010, 12:29 AM
You got it! You got even more than I asked with the info about the hidden chest. Your go.

I'm not tossing out accusations, Szczepan, but that's a lot of very specific stuff to recall. I don't mean to suggest that you couldn't possibly have remembered all of that (I remembered that you had to watch the ATEs and then jump in the quicksand, but you beat me to the punch) but is it fully clear to everybody here that you aren't allowed to look up the answers? Szczepan, I will trust you if you say you weren't cheating.

There are a lot of answers in all the trivia threads that sound like they'd be found in a walkthrough somewhere. It's the negative side of a trivia thread. It's hard to proove if someone looked up their answer or not, but I learned to just not care anymore, if they want to take the time to look it up just so they can ask some obscure question, let them.

Owen Sanchez
01-05-2010, 12:57 AM
Also, I got it right. How specific do you want me to be at all without being a cheating bastard? I only remebered because I played through that part like three days ago.

You got the name of the ATE's wrong and you didn't mention anything about fighting Antlion (or any mob). You weren't correct.

Owen, relax man, next time give a little more detail and you'll be fine. But for now its Szcezepan's turn

Ok, now something different. In japanese ver of the game there is an attack called Jihad. It's not a completely new attack, but just a different name for a one, known from english version under different name. It was changed during translation, probably because of controversial background of that word. Jihad can be understood as a holy war against enemies of Islam. It is a word, that fundamentalists use as an excuse for terrorism. Just give me a name of that attack in english ver.
Hint - this attack is dangerous, if you don't know what you are doing:)

btw

I did indeed, took a peek into guide for exact names of those 2 ATE's. It's been years since I've re-played FFIX, so it's impossible for me to remember name of every ATE in the game. As for the scene with Quina jumping into a whirpool after eating a (hallucinogenic:) ) mushroom - well...it's hard not to remember it;P If I did broke rules here, I apologize. You can ignore my question, if you think i cheated.

I've never played any Japanese version, but an attack that I can think of that is deadly, even to yourself if you don't protect yourself, would be Vivi's Doomsday. I had used it without equiping something to protect my party against darkness once, big mistake on my part!

Agent0042
01-05-2010, 07:31 PM
Szcz -- no, you're all right. I didn't even care about the specific names of the ATEs, just the particular sequence of events, so as long as you knew about that without checking the guides (which you did) you were fine.

I think what you're referring to is the Crusader Esper in FFVI (which randomly attacks either the enemy or your party), as it was called 'Jihad' in the Japanese original. Incidentally, it was also the origin of the 'Holy War' items in FFVIII (that give you limited invincibility).

But as this is the FFIX section, I digress (as I have no idea what attack in FFIX was called this in the Japanese version).

Szczepan
01-05-2010, 11:39 PM
@feralanima
Correct! Vivi's (and Ozma's) Doomsday was known as Jihad in japanese version. It went faster than i thought:) Perhaps hint was too obvious. You're next, feralanima.

@Agent0042
Thanks:)

@Enkidoh
That's true. Both Crusader and Doomsday are known under the same name in the original ver. btw Name "Crusader" is closer to original intent than "Doomsday", I think

Szczepan, thank you for your honesty and willingness to clarify how you came up with your answer. The names of the ATEs were, in fact, the reason I thought it was odd that you remembered it exactly, and it makes perfect sense that you looked only those up. As Agent said, you didn't really do anything wrong.

Alrighty then! Right after you get out of Evil forest you can walk over to North Gate and a woman will give you potions, but upon entering, the group asks where they are, what is the other name for North Gate?

FF1WithAllThieves
01-06-2010, 08:44 PM
Devil's Arch? I remember the line of dialogue in which it's mentioned, but I just can't think of the name for sure.

feralanima

No, not quite. It is an Arch, but Devil's isn't it.

Enkidoh
01-07-2010, 06:20 PM
I think it starts with a 'b', but I'm not sure. Boden's Arch?

I admit, I'm grasping at straws here, so it's most likely wrong. :p

Getting closer, Bohden Arch is one of the South Gate archs.

It's been so long that I played FFIX that I can no longer remember the individual names for those gates - the crappy Brady strategy guide was no help in that regard either, fittingly.

I could fire-up an old save on my PS2 to find the answer but I'm too lazy. :p

I thought that's what someone was doing since it was taking awhile for anyone to get it!

Thank you FF1, does this mean I have to give the answer now since no one is getting it?

The other name for that South Gate is Melda Arch. Bohden Arch (North Gate) was the closest answer given, so Enkidoh can ask the next question, if not then whoever wants it.

Okay. :)

What is the popular dessert sold at South Gate's Summit Station (which Cinna apparently loves to eat?).

South Gate Bundt Cake. I remember really wanting to eat one.

Enkidoh
01-10-2010, 04:21 AM
Correct! :D

I can't even remember how to unlock that hidden ATE event anymore either. It's a funny scene regardless. :D

Anyway, go ahead and post a question when you're ready.

Alright, I have a somewhat academic question:

What two literary figures are the source of the name of the moogle that travels the world throughout FFIX?

Yes, Rumplestiltzkin.

Has nobody really heard Rumplestiltzkin?
