I've tried to ask around how to clean the audio from movies (blu-ray) from sfx, but no one has answered. so here I ask: where I can find the "expanded" (not just traditional) scores of the pirates of the caribbean movies?

No one has answered? Maybe that's because your blu-ray thread has only been around for four days and you also put it in a place that barely anyone ever visits. http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/how-make-complete-score-detailed-guide-84885/#post1624755

Also, you can find the expanded scores for Pirates literally everywhere. By your phrasing, it sounds like you aren't terribly informed on this whole situation. I tire of explaining it over and over again; perhaps someone else could help out in the shortest, simplest way possible.

None of the expanded material exists in true lossless. A while back, someone started a PotC resources thread, but it bombed horribly when I was the only one contributing to the thread, and further back from then, someone else started a collection thread, but she was just posting links to scores that she found elsewhere on the web, including one of my original edits. I guess maybe I need to do a better job by doing it myself. I already did a resources thread for Inception and was planning to do one for Transformers. I guess since the Pirates scores are my holy grail, it wouldn't hurt to do one for that, as well.

no need to be so stuck-up. I made a question and you answered, thank you very much. There is no need to frustrate any idea of contributing to the community because you can do it better. all of us have to start somewhere.

you might tire, but this is the first time I hear that rip from dvd is not lossless, I still think it's better than the average mp3. and on top of that, a blu-ray rip can actually make me listen to part of the score that the OST has NOT in the disc.

define "everywhere". I looked on the web and all I can find (with the notable exception of the "treasures collection posted here, a real gift) I can't find any expanded score in flac/apple lossless/wav. if you can provide links, I'd be most grateful.

You can't find any expanded score in flac/apple lossless/wav because they don't exist. That's what I said. I didn't exactly say that DVD rips are not lossless, but I do believe that is true; if I could get Sparktank down here, I'm sure he would have a blast explaining everything to you.

Just the same as blu-ray rips, DVD rips also give you a chance to listen to unreleased music. There are plenty of those out there, especially for the first film.

I can, however, direct you to a plethora of links for expanded scores that are not lossless.

if you can direct me to these expanded scores I'd like that.

There is absolutely no guarantee that any of the links found in the threads I post here will still be active, nor that the original thread-starters will be willing or even available to re-up dead links.

Thread 95115 The resources thread that I dominated; it could use some updating.

Thread 50556 The first DVD rip I can find for PotC1.

Thread 90445 Another DVD rip for PotC1.

Thread 94839 I believe this one is the most current one of the abundant supply of edits that takes advantage of the unreleased music on the DVD menus. If you know how to use Google, you can find probably five other slight variations on this particular sort of edit; weirdly I don't see any of those on this site's search results.

Thread 90331 This is the collection that pulled from elsewhere on the web and it may feature links to some of the PotC1 edits I described in the entry just above this one.

Thread 95736 This one is, without a doubt, the best expanded score presently available for PotC1. In addition to utilizing most of the DVD menus, it has probably close to 10 tracks (if not more) that were not previously available anywhere else.

Thread 100007 This is a modification of the last edit that jacksparrow900 posted which uses the new material available in the above link.

And that's all I can find on the Shrine's search results for Curse of the Black Pearl. I can come back later with a similar post for the other films...that is, unless you feel like trying out the search feature for yourself. ;)

I used the search term "Pearl" to find results for PotC1. And considering that movie came out before we knew there could be sequels, many edits/DVD rips might have just referred to the movie as Pirates of the Caribbean so some results may be missing. I am using the search term "chest" for PotC2. Here are the worthy results:

Thread 83047 Four additional tracks for both PotC2 and PotC3. These tracks are still available on Magic Box Music's Virtual Resume

Thread 79042 This was a bundle of everything ripped from Geoff Zanelli's (another additional PotC composer) first website. I believe he posted three additional tracks.

There's, of course, the Resources thread and Isabella's collection which contain info for this film as well.

Thread 91769 Chronologically, in the list of results, this is the first decently expanded score for PotC2. What I did not find anywhere in this list of results is the edit that is commonly referred to as "The Extended Experience". This particular edit appears to be a slight variation on the EE.

Thread 94848 Yet another variation of the Extended Experience, which, I believe, features YouTube rips of DVD rips (a nightmare in terms of quality and a thing referred to as "doing your own work"). Personally, I would just seek out the Extended Experience if I were you--since that's one of the edits that got me started. In the Pirates resources thread, I think you can find my analysis of the sources for all the tracks that were not included on the OST. Still...many new cues have been released in the time since the EE surfaced, but none of the updates of the EE have quite all the new cues.

Thread 112412 This is a bundle of most everything that is available on Geoff Zanelli's new website. Unfortunately for PotC2, he did not post anything new that wasn't on his old website.

Thread 78896 This is the most accurate and extensive edit [that was once] available for PotC2. It features two full discs of music straight from the film plus two more discs full of alternates and soundtrack versions of tracks--utilizing the OST, all music that was available from additional composers (at the time of its posting) as well as DVD audio to fill in the rest of the gaps.

Aside from the Extended Experience, there are two more edits that were fairly important in fulfilling my needs that I cannot find here on the Shrine. One, I think, may have been made available in the time before the EE and I call it the 29-track bootleg. It uses the OST and then it also selects a random group of unreleased music, utilizes only a single rear channel of the DVD audio, clips out certain SFX with no rhyme or reason, and over-amplifies that audio to a point that makes it sound worse than how the OST for PotC1 was mastered.

The other edit originated from our own member Nightmare27, known as uga2 on his blog and elsewhere on the web. I cannot remember the total contents of the edit, but it was my first encounter with actual material extracted from DVD audio (because with the 29-track bootleg, I didn't quite understand yet what I was listening to). He made a selection of the biggest action tracks of the score but utilized only the rear channels of the DVD audio and didn't attempt to equalize volumes between sources.

One more thing: Lorne Balfe has a short cue on his website misnamed "Wheel of Fortune" that I don't think is on any of the above edits. The most likely places it could be are the Extended Experience variations; but considering the timing, it is not so likely.

At World's End does not have as an expansive list of threads dedicated to it as the previous movies did. I can say this: Magic Box Music, Geoff Zanelli, and Lorne Balfe all have additional music on their websites (still available), and even Atli rvarsson has an alternate orchestration of one cue on his site. For this search, I used the term "world", but that was clearly a bad choice. Off the top of my head, I know of three big expanded/complete releases for this score that are available on the Shrine. They are:

Thread 84037 This was, at one point, the most accurate extensive edit available for PotC3. At the time of its release, it utilized all available materials including: the OST, the additional music from Magic Box Music, portions of unreleased music which were used on the special features disc that was oddly formatted in 5.1 sound, and of course DVD audio to round off all the gaps in the score. See below for an updated edit.

Thread 94838 This is the absolute must-have for a person who does not like DVD rips. Aside from a few anomalies, defects and redundant tracks, this is a gloriously expanded version of the score, but I am guesstimating that 30-50 minutes of music are still absent from it (not counting untold-of unused and/or alternate cues).

Thread 94868 And this is the revised version of the first listing in this post. It incorporates minorly revised edits of tracks from the older version, updated quality, and all of the new tracks from the Takeshi share, with tweaks where necessary.

Off the Shrine, you might be able to find uga2's edit of this score, done in a similar style as his PotC2 edit. And like the abundance of edits for PotC1 that center around the music found on the DVD menus, I believe you'll be able to find several slight variations of PotC3 which attempt to arrange the OST in film order, and then randomly throw in the suites from the Soundtrack Treasures Collection. As far as I know, none of them utilize the Magic Box Music or other additional composers' works.

If absolutely necessary, I can gather links for PotC4 as well.

no. after trying I can't find any single stream without voices. Either I'm doing something wrong or simply there is none.
