Bootleg seems like such a wrong word. I do not feel there was any bootlegging involved. Here it is at long last: the complete score to Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. I've worked for longer than a year on perfecting this score and even only last week, I was still editing out loud SFX on several tracks. This also means that I have been working on finalizing tracks a lot recently and did not in fact go through one more final review. So if anyone catches what could be an error or mistake, please tell me.

I will guarantee that there are no tracks missing and less than 20 seconds of music missing total from the movie. I don't expect people to leave many comments that could lead to discussion, so at least say thank you.

This is by far my best score, and it also happens to be one of the Holy Grails I am searching for. I believe that no one else could produce a better-sounding score for this film apart from the release of the true complete score. I think I might have just issued a challenge.

Heck yes, and it is...well, it's tricky. My version is only going to be expanded due to voice echoes that reach everywhere except for the back right channel. Of the 44-track list I came up with, I made myself a not that at least 7 of them wouldn't be in my score. However, I've already mixed the first versions of 2 of those 7...Where there aren't echoes from dialogue, there are some painfully unremovable SFX. So, it's coming along, there may be more music in mono than in the other two score, and I may decide to take requests for people who want the missing tracks.

And as an official announcement, yes I am working on an expanded score for Curse of the Black Pearl. It may not be complete but I can still include the tracks that have dialogue that can't be removed. I suppose I could post a tracklist here, if anyone was interested.

Because I don't know where else to post this: I just have to state I had probably one of the coolest dreams in a long time! I dreamt that I received something in the mail notifying me that a true complete score to this movie had either been leaked or was now available to purchase (it was a dream so none of it makes sense now). There was a catalog that listed a lot of Hans Zimmer's complete scores, and it even included track lists. I flipped through it to find that a soundtrack I want to have was there: Inception. The only problem was that they could only be bought from Africa...which is where I am not. Just before I woke up, I remember wanting to post on this site to see if anyone had gotten the scores yet. It all seemed so real.

Yes, I know they all exist--I just don't understand why none of the top folk will let them out. I've talked with someone else here who claims he knows a guy on another forum who has one or all of the complete scores (I can't remember what he said). Thanks for your confirmation though. "Who is this little birdie?"...is something I am tempted to ask.

@Nightmare27: I've been wondering if Uga2 existed on the FFShrine Forums, and now I know. After downloading the expanded score for AWE that was posted on Le Blog De Chief Dundee, I continued searching for better versions. Then you posted your expanded scores to DMC and AWE, and I had more material to listen to. This is, of course, before I obtained DVD audio extractor. I'd like to thank you for your expanded scores, as they inspired me to try them myself. And, well...here they are. :)

Also, I've read on the Wikipedia page about this score (see it yourself: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (soundtrack) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirates_of_the_Caribbean:_At_World%27s_End_%28soun dtrack%29#Soundtrack_Production)) that Hans Zimmer claims he wrote five freaking hours of music for the third movie.

Dude, I just wanna say this is by far the best edit I've heard, (And I've heard a lot ;)
I'm curious though how you got some of the sfx free stuff in the bonus tracks. Such as the pirate lords and their each individual theme?

The Dimensioner
01-06-2011, 02:55 PM
Here is a complete list of the tracks that were aided by Bonus Features DVD, which for some strange (but very fortunate for us!) reason, was formatted in 5.1 surround sound, and also happened to use music that was not on the score:

Singapore
The Pirate Lord of Singapore
Who's He With?
Think You Can Outrun the World?
Sao Feng's Death
Choosing a Side
...Tracks 17 through 22
Maelstrom
The start and end of "What Shall We Die For? - Soundtrack Version"

That last one is worth a listen: the end of Calypso is no longer audible at the start of the track (which is also the same for film version of the track), and the end is not cut off like it is on the OST. Under the Alternate/Bonus Tracks:

Track 09
Track 16
Track 21
Track 22
Tracks 25 through 36

And don't forget secret track 37!

I have been heavily bogged down with homework this semester. I don't have as much time as I did last semester to work on scores--and considering I have like 5 scores that I started and still haven't finished, I have even less time. That's not true...I've pushed them all off to the side to focus on another Hans Zimmer score. I think after that one is finished, I'll return to Curse of the Black Pearl--which will only be an expanded score, not complete.

Like I've told others, I had longer than a year to work on the other Pirates scores before I decided I wanted to share them with other people. So..you've got a while to wait, especially since i have diminished time to work on them.

Very much thanks for the thread link, it explains a lot. Great info. I really dint know all that. I used to do a "Voice cancellation" from AvRack and then record the .wav's. Then convert in mp3's. But it sucks, so I started doing scores with SFX.
It's a lot of hard work that you've put in to provide us with such wonderful scores of Pirates. Hats off.

Few ques: Who are your top 3 favourite film composers? :)
And why do you think these CD makers don't give us the complete scores?! I really think the Special Edition discs is all money-making. First you make people buy the 1 disc OST, then make them look stupid by releasing such additional music (in which you have to buy the earlier discs again, like in TDK!). More than giving it to the listeners, it's a business... :(

And for discussion on complete scores: http://forums.ffshrine.org/f70/wanting-more-pirates-caribbean-music-76749/#post1602443

Just to clear things up: that bonus DVD was formatted in 5.1 sound allowing me to extract 6 separate channels as I would on a regular DVD. The differences are:

only the talking and noises appear in the center and front left and right channels
the back channels don't have decreased quality like they should (apart from a weird static that was difficult to filter out
And there is a plethora of unreleased music on the bonus disc that is obviously noticeable, almost a manner that says, "Haha, there's music here that wasn't on the OST! What're you gonna do?"

The download count went from 386 to well over 16,000!!! Now I don't know how long it took to get there but it would be nice to know who let it leak.

There will be a problem here now. It was amazing to see Charlie Clouser didn't work with James Wan in Insidious but even more amazing that I couldn't imagine the movie now with his music in it. I will admit I was highly impressed with Dead Silence but that's about all of his work I can actually sit through. Glad James Wan didn't go with Michael Wandmacher. He's a very talented composer but tends to turn up the ante on his horror scores and they end up sounding very noisy and almost cheesy. Plus his electronic scoring is pretty bland. There's only 1 track on My Bloody Valentine I could sit through.

Thank you for all your effort with this - you did a great job! This just so makes me watch the movie over again ... I wonder can one wear out a dvd? :P

Personally I would have seperated track 6 into two - the 'love' theme part and the Davy Jones part as they convey very different feelings an emotions. I can see why they are as one, with the 'love' theme being repeated towards the end, however, I also realise that the love theme used for Jack & Elisabeth is one of the main themes of the movie, so it is repeated quite a bit.

I look forward to listening to your other works - keep up the good work!

I just wanted to have as few tracks as possible I guess. I kind of based the arrangement off of the unreleased tracks found on Le blog de Chief Dundee. Recently, I've been doing a bit of work to look at how many separate cues there really are. Track 6 actually contains 3 cues.

@theeaglesfan005: not really sure why there needed to be more album covers, since all of my scores come packaged with complete album art, including track lists for the back side of a CD case. I worked really hard in PhotoShop to get them all to look good, but you can leave yours here.

I've just re-downloaded this and it says it's corrupt. I already had it from last December, and that opens fine.

Hi! I'm new here... Actually, I registered only in order to download your complete scores:-) I've been looking for ages for an application I could use to extract the soundtrack, and filter it to eliminate voices and background sounds, and I was curious to know what is it that you use... If you can tell, me of course:-)
Congrats on your job and thank you!

That doesn't mean a thing. They can't shut down the process of someone sending an email to someone else on a site totally unconnected to theirs. They could possibly be scrubbing the forum of any evidence those track lists were there. It's not like they know who Mr. Jones and Jimmer are or where they live. Yes, it was not a good choice for them to post in about the worst place possible but it has already happened. And it is the admins' fault for not removing those posts sooner.

Alternatively: sometimes sites just go down like that. I remember once when the Shrine went down right around the time something big for me was going to happen. The Zimmer forums may have been down for a time in the PotC4 Demos were first starting to appear as well. They can't stop anything--besides that place is only a fan site.

EDIT: And as I was typing my post, cheese came in and said what I was trying to say in much fewer words.

Well, you should please stop. You can't possibly work out the remaining SFX--especially if you don't have the original audio to work from. You should take a look at my guide on how to make complete scores. One point I may or may not yet have in there is that you always need to have original sources. Do not work off of an mp3 that someone else has already edited. Besides, do you think with me spending over a year working on this that I didn't try my hardest?...Yes, let's hope that something better comes along.

@the gus bus, you should also check out my guide. Just for ease of access, here it is: http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/how-make-complete-score-detailed-guide-84885/.

That's fine. I don't mean to sound harsh. There's just some basic rules to understand in editing music.

EDIT: It's a bit late to edit this post but I thought I would save space by just editing this one. Just so everyone knows I've already made up some artwork for the music we may be receiving shortly. But much like the album art's legendary counterpart (the music), I don't really see much point in posting it unless the music actually comes out. Otherwise, there would be this decorative album cover floating around and everyone might be saying, "Hmmm, I wonder what that belongs to..." I am just thinking aloud...and writing down my thinkings.

Sorry for the delay guys. I know you all have been waiting to hear from me concerning the possible new AWE Complete Score. I have run into complications with the .rar file and now it seems that Mr. Jones from Hans-Zimmer.com sent me the wrong link. It was to another score by Klaus Badelt. However, he is currently working to re-upload the correct .rar file and he's going to resend me the link, hopefully soon. Just thought I'd update you all here. Also, I am going to take everyone's advice and not post anymore updates on Hans-Zimmer.com. Thanks for the advice and hopefully late tonight or tomorrow afternoon a review of the score and a possible upload will be on their way.

If the file was labeled as AWE-complete, then he surely did it on purpose. It seems odd that you would be the one to start the conversation in the first place and that he would be the cheater.

On a side note, I'd like to speak with you in private, Jimmer, but you need more than five posts for me to do so. I think it is important for you to listen to my advice.

Is that a compliment [EDIT: @theeaglesfan005]? I guess I have this problem where I leave out lols and such. I don't mean to sound rude or sound like I'm superior to others (as a few people on here feel). I just like to be as clear as possible so there is not any confusion, and sometimes I guess that comes off as snobbish or PWN-ish. So: no offense meant.

I have not heard from 7 at all, but since he was an elite, I suspect he may come back at some point. He may already be back and we just don't know it--pure speculation.

724921 harrassed a guy who came on here demanding a more complete version of the demos. He was relentless, but also the guy was a total newbie and it seems like he had some real problems. But believe me: before that guy came along, 7 really did want to share the score. It's just that he hadn't thought of a way to do it without getting in trouble. He probably didn't want to deal with it and got himself banned on purpose.

Also, his version of the demos was far from being complete. It only had around 15 more
tracks than what we have already, and it was no match to the track list momentarily posted on the HZ forum.

Eagles, did you miss out on his whole mistreatment of CaptainJackSparrow? In the midst of all his horrible name-calling and harassment, at one point he said, "Look, I'll upload the first two tracks that people request to prove I do have more music." And then people requested tracks, and they just so happened to be the demo versions of the second half of the "Battle Montage" and a slightly shorter version of "Jack & Gibbs (A Pirate's Life for Me)". For reference, those cues were 6m59A and 7m67, respectively. They should still be in the thread that it all happened in. I want to say it was zero_flyer's thread with something about [CMD] in the title. They were on like page 7 or 8.

It looks like it won't be happening. A swindler on the HZ forums going by the name Mr. Jones or AgentJones posted a track list to a complete At World's End score and even uploaded like eight cues to YouTube showing that it is real. A guy named Jimmer traded the 66-track version of the PotC4 demos (your version, right?), and then Jones "sent the wrong file." Jimmer hasn't heard back in over 24 hours. The last couple pages of this thread account the events fairly well, but also be sure to check out the On Stranger Tides page in the HZ forums.

Are you kidding me?! Well, here's his YouTube page: ‪agentjones006 (http://www.youtube.com/user/agentjones006). It's hard to tell if he's a fake or not because under the Transformers 3 thread, someone claimed he swindled them saying he had the complete score to TF2 and they traded a $50 iTunes gift card for the cues Magic Box Music has for the movie. On the other hand: look at the tracks he posted on YouTube and also his track list on the HZ forum!!

However, while his tracks are convincing, some borrow almost the exact same track lengths and identical track titles as some tracks from my score (the topic of this thread).

I was quite skeptical, especially of when I first saw the tracklist on the Zimmer site. I will bet that if / when a complete surface it will have reel + cue numbers in the names. Its rare that when a true complete first surfaces it doesnt have those. Often its suspicious if it doesnt. Promotional distributions are a whole other story tho.

You're going to work on, though, right? Still having a (possibly incomplete) promotional release is better than how much material we have right now (although I guess a lot of people are happy with what I've produced on this thread).

TBH Im not very interested in things like that. I doubt its even a promotional release, probably some fan made BS or otherwise more people would have it if it was a promo.

I'll make sure to mention if something real surfaces.

Finally an update and probably not the one that everyone wants to hear. Let me start off by saying this: Mr. Jones, a.k.a. AgentJones is a hack, a con, and a complete swindler. I will never trust him again on this forum or any other like it. Mr. Jones made a promise and obviously he never intended on living up to it. After more than 24 hours of silence from and email after email from me pleading for him to live up to his end of the bargain, I think it is safe to say that AgentJones was just a charade. I am glad though, that I took the leap of faith, as it were. A find of this magnitude is worth the jump, I'd say, but in the end it was just a fool's hope, as Gandalf the White would say. But to end the growing anticipation, Mr. Jones gave me 2 tracks from his supposed At World's End Complete Score, to which I traded him the 66-track version of On Stranger Tides that has been floating around. No cash incentives were involved. After he eagerly offered to send the .rar file of the precious AWE score, I sent him the links to On Stranger Tides. After some confusion and mix ups, all I ended up with was the complete version of Klaus Badelt's K-19: The Widowmaker, in .flac I might add. All that said, blame must be put on Mr. Jones for not living to his end of the deal or for making a claim that could never be met. I will be watching closely, still, for more news of an AWE score in the future, but unfortunately all hopes have been dashed today. Sorry gentlemen, the wait for this gem goes...

So, we're back to square one again...

Thank you all for your support and I will continue to update you on anything else I hear. Thanks.

It is a shame that someone would be this dishonest, especially with the nature of material he was dealing with. But what's done is done and I am not ashamed for taking the plunge if it would have somehow given me a true complete score for AWE. However, the 66-track version of On Stranger Tides can be found on this forum. Follow the link:Pirates of the Caribbean Stranger Tides CMD Custom Complete (Thread 92875)

The Dimensioner

Well, that does add up to 66 tracks, and that guy who started the thread compiled it himself...I thought the music you were talking about included the other fourth of the score that the 41-track version is missing.

Jimmer
08-05-2011, 11:07 PM
Negative. I didn't really follow the On Stranger Tides discussion too closely, seeing as the music for that score is nearly all subpar compared to everything else Zimmer has done. I enjoy some of the cues from the 66-track, compiled version, but I am not really seeking more music from that film. It was all kind of rehashed mixes and cues from the previous three films anyways. Nevertheless, I hope that makes more sense.

JDow13
08-05-2011, 11:24 PM
Actually Jimmer, that guy isnt better off than the rest of us, since he's still missing the other 4th - if that's any consolation...But yeah. I feel you.

Really sorry to hear that dude. Its my personal conviction to not purchase scores from online sellers who arent official. Yeah, but do you know how hard it is to be able to talk to Hans Zimmer? I mean, come on, lol. Also, Jimmer was trading. He gave Mr. Jones some music in exchange for Mr. Jones to give him some music. And Mr. Jones hasn't followed through. The tracks he uploaded to YouTube are very much legitimate, though.

Those Youtube tracks are great though, I always wanted that missing bit of "Hoist the Colors" in the Sao Feng attack! Too bad the sound quality was obviously watered down.

What section of music are you referring to timedome? I worked fairly hard to include every single bit of music present in the film and am only missing a few seconds here and there in the score that is uploaded here. I can't recall hearing the Hoist the Colours theme in the "Attack by the East India Trading Company," but I know it is played just prior to that cue.

As for the quality of the YouTube tracks, Mr. Jones must have done it on purpose because he very well could have uploaded them in HD or HQ or whatever.

I...still don't know the music you're talking about. I may know the soundtrack well, but I don't have it memorized to the point of what musical cues go with what on-screen cues. Is the bit of music you're talking about on my score or not? I worked pretty hard on "Who's He With?" the action music that occurs near the end of the Singapore scenes and it has very little SFX--I used ALL the resources I could find in perfecting it. On Mr. Jones' score, I'm fairly certain this cue is named "Attack by the East India Trading Company."

I think it's just the ost album with the extra suites.

The Dimensioner
08-28-2011, 01:47 PM
StarWarsFan is right, Dak. They've just taken the OST and rearranged it a bit and renamed a few tracks then threw in the suites from the fourth disc of the Soundtrack Treasures Collection. I think this came out before Magic Box Music posted their awesome Maelstrom cue so it isn't on there. The track titled "Into the Maelstrom" was originally named "Just Good Business" and--it makes me mad every time I see this--it was originally an alternate version for what is named "It's Just Good Business" on this album. How can everyone get it wrong? It even says on the Wikipedia page where it was originally supposed to be used. It's got Beckett's theme throughout the entirety of the track! Beckett isn't even in the Maelstrom scene!...sorry about that.

Also, Calypso might be the film version, ripped from the incomplete cue posted on Geoff Zanelli's site and combined with the OST version.

And they've substituted the Singapore suite in for the OST track Singapore, so that one's even missing. Sure this is a nice arrangement, but disc three of my score (this thread) is a more accurate arrangement of all there is available in terms of SFX-free material.

Who here shared the link to this score to the rest of the internet?! I know I never specified not to share it but I just thought it was common courtesy not to steal other peoples' stuff without their permission.

The download count went from 386 to well over 16,000!!! Now I don't know how long it took to get there but it would be nice to know who let it leak.

There will be a problem here now. I won't be able to search for unreleased music without running into my own score as its going to be popping up everywhere with retitled tracks and different score covers--and maybe even some re-editing! I just find it hard to believe that that many people could have downloaded the music from here and not left a single thanks!

ha, i was lying in bed having a lazy day and had all POTC movies lined up on a VLC playlist and it got to the point where "26-Escape from the Flying Dutchman" is playing and it always really bothered me that one of the best tracks was left out and never made available.

I once again googled "worlds end missing tracks" and got some stuff but nothing helpful... but i thought i might spend more than 2 mins searching this time and came across this further down the page after altering the search. I was annoyed that after all this time these are still not commercially available but glad to see this thread.

I clicked, registered, downloaded and continued to read the thread, I saw your post and wanted to come out the shadows and say "thanks", i would otherwise be one of 16k+ of these faceless lurkers.

Also, most of my uploads took several hours to get uploaded completely, and now all that's gone. I understand. But you do know that MU was shut down not because of content specifically, but because the owners were part of a massive pirating scheme, right? I don't think it had anything to do with MU not doing anything about Copyrighted content hosted on its site.

There are genuine concerns by uploaders that their efforts can be undermined for whatever reasons. It's their right, and is not subject to a show of hands over the matter.

I am still re-uploading, but am very wary. I used Gigasize for a while without realising that they have stringent quota restrictions that annoy many, whilst general consensus here was that RS was the way to go. I avoided them, cos I can still remember what they were like when I first joined the forum. In fact true to form, they are heading back that way now.

My current preference is now Peeje.com, who don't seem to have any downside issues when the general consensus seems to be mediafire is the way to go. I like mediafire, but am conscious of the fact that they are a big target for the authorities.

I concentrate on re-uploading other people's files, where the original uploader cannot (babydoll), or who have "gone away" (mad777, and Porko), and sometimes where the original uploader does not want to but does not object to someone else doing so (Arial). I do not have everything but help where I can. That said, I do not wish to re-upload in cases where the original uploader wants to keep control of the distribution of their work (JonC or Wimpel), or where the item has become a target of those who get files removed.

I also avoid re-upping, when it has become obvious that others are simply trawling to find threads to request re-ups for no other reason that that they've realised that it happens.

It can be soul-destroying to have half a dozen new requests, for each that I satisfy.

I also don't respond to those who request something, that I then send them a link to, and who then reply with a list of further items that they'd quite like.

I'm starting to ramble now, so I'll leave it there.

Suffice it to say that Dimensioner is entitled to refuse to re-up for whatever reasons he wishes, regardless of whether it makes sense to someone else or not.

Understood. I've never had to reupload anything, so I've never had to be especially concerned over the fate of uploaded files.

So I guess this means that there is no way to download this amazing complete score ?

That much I know, but the Dimensioner pointed out somewhere else in this forum (cannot rembember where) that he will not be re-uploading his work nor give the right to anyone else to do that in his stead...

Well that's a shame. I guess everyone who doesn't have it is screwed then. Why is no one else permitted to upload it?

Who told you that no one is permitted to upload it? Where did you see this? The Dimensioner never stated that. There is absolutely nothing from preventing me or anyone else who has this from uploading it. But nobody who has it will, out of respect for The Dimensioner. People have stolen his hard work and put it on YouTube and claimed it as their own. I wanna say that it's copyright, but I can't, because this is technically Zimmer's work, not his. But you get what I mean. The Dimensioner put a lot of time (A LOT) and effort into this, and then he sees it on YouTube...imagine, how you would feel?

Yes I did. Not in this thread but in one of the others. I can't remember which since I pretty much had to type the same thing four or five times over and after a while I got lazy.

Most people say "Grow up you big baby," whenever I present that argument. I spent a bare minimum of an entire year working on this score and within a matter of months or weeks it's up on YouTube, changed, altered, and with no credit given to me whatsoever (this and DMC, although this one may have been taken down through the help of another).

I stand corrected. I don't recall this, I can't keep track after any more than 2 pages.

And lo! For it was at that moment that he began to wonder whether his time in this realm was truly finished. All his works and writings rapidly descended into darkness and oblivion any way. Then for him to be attacked so violently and with such fierce anger and unexplained vengeance, he questioned whether he was overstaying his welcome. It was a long and troublesome journey, but maybe it was for the best. Perhaps forevermore, shall he never share another work again.

Well there's this, which comes from my profile and was written after I lived through a waking nightmare. But here's where the real beat down comes in: http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/dead-mans-chest-complete-bootleg-score-78896/2.html#post1957220 (which actually happened before the nightmare. The nightmare was just what drove the nail into the coffin)
