OK, got a question for OrangeC/O.J. since he ripped POP2008... did he combine most of the layers? Because his XBOX360 rip comes up to only 84 tracks, and when I tried using DecodeUbiMusicSounds to extract the music myself from the DataPC_StreamedSounds.forge file, the total number comes up to more than a 1300 files...
And most of the files cannot be decoded by the DecodeUbiMusicSounds, it gets cracked/popped in certain places, plus songs like the main menu theme and the End Credits are not included... :(

What do I do? I'm desperate to finish the complete Prince Of Persia 2008 soundtrack before July 10th...

Well most of those total files could be sfx/voices/ambient files. Might want to post on xentax in zench's ubisoft thread.

as far as I remember, there was no music layers in this game (prince of persia 2008) just separate "songs"... mixed with sfx and voice tracks thou. I mean mixed inside the archive.

I have a question, since most of the people here know how audio... stuff works. I'm doing a rip of a PSP game's music, and have the WAVs converted from the AT3s with the SMPL archives/loop points injected. Is there a program I can use to make them, say, loop twice and fade out on the third loop? Because if there is, it'd be a godsend for my ripping projects. Sorry to bother you all, and thanks in advance.

Probably because playable lossless from unplayable lossy is better than playable lossy from unplayable lossy... If it makes any sense.

Transcoding to lossy format from a lossy source technically degrades the quality, so the lossless conversion of the source material is the closest thing to the original that is playable with standard media players.

I searched the forums, and found nothing. I checked Alpha23's forum threads (http://forums.ffshrine.org/search.php?searchid=924649) and posts (http://forums.ffshrine.org/search.php?searchid=924648) as well as searched the entire forum for Republic Commando (http://forums.ffshrine.org/search.php?searchid=924652). He does have a game with the word "Republic" in it, but that is the RPG, not the shooter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_Commando). Well, even if he did, all of his megaupload links are dead anyway XD.

But I'm not here to start a quarrel here, just saying that I do search the forums before making a request. Path of Neo is a different story though because I don't want to encode the .xadp files myself, but it's better than nothing.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to MGS2:Substance, would have been my choice as well.

Well if your still looking for a complete one of Republic Commando, if you have it on PC the music is in .ogg i believe, shouldn't be to hard to sniff out from the game's files ;).

Truth to be told, I indeed have it for PC. The only problem is that I don't know what I should name the tracks. I know that a few tracks from the movies are included as well (which star wars game hasn't?), but I don't have the soundtrack of those. In other words, it wouldn't make sense to name them unless you're a Star Wars specialist, which I aren't.

I've never heard that VGM Legacy members rip music and name them as if it was an original soundtrack from the composers themselves. :\ even Kataah and pie didn' do it in their time. original gamefiles' names - yes, but nothing else. And it's great I think

There's unfortunately no way to go from lossy to lossy without loss of quality, and both AAC and MP3 are lossy. :(

Just scanned through all the tracks for Shadows of the Damned and noticed that the songs for the loading screens and the scrolling shooter levels aren't in there. Are they part of other tracks that maybe I just didn't catch, or are they not in the rip? I really like the shooter theme. Very silly, very Suda51.

What I did :

I extracted the 677 Wwise RIFX files with OGG extension from Music.PSARC with PSARC tool.

Then I converted each Wwise RIFX file with hcs64 tool ww2ogg to get the 677 files with Vorbis OGG extension.

It's actually uploading, but if you prefer posting yours, I won't post mine.

First off I'm happy to join the team. I'm willing to take requests but for now (until further notice) only Wii, GC and DS games are the games I can currently rip.

Seems flameupload changed to 10xupload, so far most of our uploads on there are useless now. A sad day for the legacy. So if people want to help re upload as much as they can id greatly appreciate that.

That sound really bad.

I suggest using Mirrorcreator - Upload files to multiple file sharing sites (http://www.mirrorcreator.com/) next time for spread and file "safety".

OJ, if you are looking for FTP, Bluehost provides site hosting for $10 a month, with a $40 startup fee. I am using it for a Guild Wars 2 related site and found it to be a painless process (not speaking money wise).

I personally think the FTP would be a good system, and if I get better internet I could also help you out and host my own 1TB FTP from an external OJ but until then I'll begin reuploading my rips to Mediafire.

To other VGM Legacy members, to save you all future messages saying "Links are dead" or something, I'm removing all of my links and replacing it with the following text and you should probably do the same:

EDIT: All our upload links are now dead because the mirroring site VGM Legacy used (FlameUpload) changed it's domain host name and our links are no longer valid. We are currently in the process of reuploading all our rips to a mediafire account and also to an FTP that O.J Simdicks will be hosting on his 1TB external.

So this is NOT a request from me for now, but is it possible to make a real Gamerip of the Game Fracture?
I just found this old rip from pie in his old gamerip thread and saw, that the rip is a Xbox 360 Rip!
But that cannot be, because to that time there was not even the XMA-Format cracked. I believe that this rip is just a Line-In Record.
So, please guys, could you perhaps keep that in mind when the problems with flameupload is fixed and you start ripping again?

A good rip is worth the time
What makes you think all music is captured as it is in the game with a direct file conversion

There's substantial quality loss basically with Line-In compared to direct file conversions. - If you have a shitty sound card, understandable, but if you do the line in direct to a standalone cdr and convert the cd to WAV you lose nothing!

Only really get noise if the soundcard is not great and if the source is lossy! then you wont lose anymore quality from a direct rip as the source for that is also lossy!

Dont get me wrong, i am not trying to mock direct rips or anything that has been done by the VGM legacy and anyone else that does direct rips - Each has it benefits and flaws -

For example - I have just ripped Crysis 2 which turned out to be 10 cds of in-music 1 cd of the movie music (which was not apparent on the VGM Legacy direct rip) and 2cd's worth of unlockable music, which is more or less the same as the LLL release! I also added the trailer music both with Dialogue and found every track used with no dialogue! so in total a 13 cd set of 15 hours of music! the main difference being, as i am sure Orange will agree (as he has a few tracks from it already) is there is no clipping of music, the music; being dynamic in the game, gives you a (from my own opinion) a better tasting of the music AS it is heard in the game WHILST you play it!
The secondary factor is that you hear everything in chronological order and I (although tastes may differ) have called the tracks something that would give the listener something to associate with the track!

For those, However, that have not and perhaps will never play the game, will not appreciate the extents taken and the time taken to produce something in a Line-In rip fashion - But for me personally - As Double Hex as pointed out - You listen to it in chronological order and a file name to suit the scene -

Everyone is different and as far as i am concerned that is what makes the world go around - To put it quite simply and possibly extremely bluntly - If you prefer direct rips, stick to them and not complain and vice versa - Dont download a Line In rip if the sole intention in doing so is to complain about quality and such - By giving the listener both of the scenarios; A Direct and Line In Rip; allows options - IOf nothing more, use the line in rips and the file names given to file name the direct rips and put them in chronological order! See, choices - Better than having no choice!

and dont forget that many game was unripable in file extraction but possible in line rip (when the ps3 and 360 codecs where not yet cracked) and today, some game still more easy to rip in Line-In, btw as say Scoreman "i am not trying to mock VGM legacy team who bring us the possibility to take a listen on a lot of games scores (bless you O.J.) so this is just a question of choice, some (like me) didn't know really how to do a direct file extraction, but i love and i think to do a old school Line-In Rip.

*Note: I haven't been able to make the 7.1 FLAC tracks play in Winamp or foobar2000. However I did get them to play using VLC or Media Player Classic.

Additionally, all my rips will now include a 5% recovery record in the archives. So if you have a corrupt archive, instead of redownloading, you should be able to repair it :)

Interesting. I assume you'd need some program burned onto a disc that once loaded dumps the system files to a memory card, which is then copied to PC for examination. Oh well.

Well guys here is a special one i've been working on these past days. Thought id do it this own update since this game is really popular. :)

Wow this game was very hard/time consuming to rip and i had to do alot of redos and it was just a complete pain extracting and parsing everything out of eido's bigfile, another thing is the 360 version did not use fsb so therefore i couldn't get the tracknames leaving me to deal with the ps3 version which uses fsb mp3, so i copied over the names to the demuxed MUL XMA's, Also extracted the Cinematic music which was a real pain as well. Since now there is no real working extractor for eidos bigfiles which has deus ex support, even the bms script i posted couldn't deal with the console versions. Anyway this score is plain awesome! Michael McCann did it again!! ;) Layered music as well so did some mixes. Barnaby you will thank me, Saved you quite a bit of headaches here. :)

Special thx to hcs for the deblocker which helped with the MUL's.

Though this request is very unlikely, coming from me and also period. Phineas and Ferb the 2nd dimension for the PS3.

The game surprisingly features a fully orchestrated soundtrack (Either that or insanely good synth) and the later levels music get very..dark for a disney game based off a cartoon show. Considering how youtube and sales are holding up a rip from someone else as well as an OST in general seems....98% not happening.
