Welcome back! ;)
Right now we are trying to figure out which Vincente's version is which...
The Sound Of Blade Runner 2008 Edition 2008
This is my personal review of Blade Runner music.
Basically it consists of a compilation of all the music that we can hear throughout the film, chronologically sorted. I've only added some little sound effects (no voices) taken from the same scene where the music sounds in order to create a continuous flow. You'll be able to hear subtles variations of well known themes with added extracts from the surround Dvd channels.
Nothing new, in fact, but for me a great oportunity to hear all the music in the film's way.
Specially difficult for me has been to create a version of Dangerous Days and Wounded Animals tracks. There's a lot of variations, including the last official BR trilogy that convert it in a little chaos.
I've tried to respect the film version but i asume that maybe people prefer longer Gongo or Bootleg versions. End titles are official 1994 version (for me the best sounding) and Main Titles are from final cut Dvd.
In Sushi Bar I've mixed "If I didn't Care" that it can briefly heard on rear channels of the scene.
Basically the sources of the music i've used proceed from the final cut an workprint DVDs with a few addition from the different musical sources (Gongo, Esper edition, Deck Art, outtakes...) in order to complete some tracks
I've mixed them using Audacity and Cool Edit Pro with a Creative Xfi 24 bit sound card at 48 kHz. Using music from different sources I've tried to normalize the sound but not manipulating it so much, trying in all cases to get the best quality.
I hope youll like it.

The Sound Of Blade Runner vol 1 2008
The Sound Of Blade Runner vol 2 2008
It consists in a "cronologically ordered" soundtrack without adding tracks or "alternate" music, with subtle sound effects and no voices at all. Actually, it tries to be a complete and strict musical version of the film.
Greetings.
An "enhanced" version of Esper enhancement track you can find on "The Sound of BR vol 1".
I hope you'll like it.

The Sound Of Blade Runner 2009 Edition 2009
Hi to everybody.
Adding some news to this amazing world of Blade Runner soundtrack I've made some changes to my personal review called "The sound of Blade Runner".
In this, more musical, new 2009 edition I've changed several tracks of my previous version cleaning the sound in some cases, making longer versions and trying to eliminate not desired sfx.
When possible I've chosen only the best lossless sources mixing them if necessary with unreleased parts, in this case in the best format i could find.
There are also some incidental unreleased music taken directly from the DVD sources.
Specially difficult for me has been the "Dangerous days -Wounded Animals" track mixing.
In the previous version i added some scene background effects like thunders or the "japanese" female voice in order to recreate the dark atmosphere.
This time I've rearranged all and now you'll listen to only music including the "cat howl " scene mixed with several parts of Wounded animals, Deckard And Roy's Duel and Dangerous days trying to respect the film sequence and without voices or sfx.
I've avoided the distorsioned bass sound parts of bootlegged "Wounded animals" in order to create a 10 min 15 sec "sound clear" version.
Most changes on this 2009 version are variations from 2008 edition but I think they worth it. Finally I've put all of this in three separate volumes with a new cover.
For those who downloaded the 2008 version i'll put an archive with only the new adds in rapidshare.
If somebody want the entire 2009 edition tell me and i'll give you the new rapidshare links.
Greetings.

Well, first of all, thanks for your comments. I'm very happy knowing people who have listening and enjoying with my little contribution to our favourite soundtrack.
You should know I'm only an spanish guy from Barcelona with a domestic Pc, some music software and really devoted to Vangelis music. Maybe a little perfeccionist with sound quality and that's all.
Answering to Sbastien, I edit all the sound with Adobe Audition.
With DVD cues I use the typical cut, copy and mix paste, fade in and fade out tools. I don't like an excessive sound editing with stereo expansors, equalizers or similar (they usually get sound a little "dirty" ). Maybe a litlle amplification avoiding high pics distortion and if necessary a standard deHiss.
All those new musical cues who you can listening to in TSOBR 2009 come directly from surround channels of "The final cut" and "The workprint edition" Blue Ray and standard DVDs. I extract a 5.1 Wav only track
from each chapter with Eac3to and then I begin to work. I've noticed that non English film versions (Spanish in my case) have a very musical background rear channels with no voices or sound fx included. (i.e Morning at the Bradbury or Prodigal son brings death prologue).
I only have to choose different musical passages and edit them with Audacity, mixing then with the other musical sources i've used (mainly Original Gongo Bootleg, Trilogy, 1994 official cd and (what a pity) my only mp3 copy of BR suite Outtakes.
Originally TSOBR 2008 was a more "filmic" oriented version ( you'll specially find it in tracks like If I didn't care or Pris meets Sebastian) but lately i changed all to a more musical oriented suite. Nevertheless i've decided keeping some of those "atmospheric" 2008 tracks. Simply I liked them.
And answering to Mark, Why three Cds? Well, just a litlle caprice.
My personal Trilogy ;-).
Ok guys, thanks again. I'm waiting for more new surprises. Maybe from Vangelis this time?
Let's hope so
Greetings.

Today I've just made a little discover. I have found a special version of Manufactured skin and Taffy's club on the Blu Ray DVD soundtrack. I think that the main difference with the other versions is the absence of people voices (specially at Taffy's club ) and a little music variation (lenghth is practically the same). Maybe they're well known versions but I didn't find anywhere.
Greetings.

Quick question for you Vicente just to make sure: the only tracks you made changes to in the 2009 version are the eleven tracks included in the "2009 edits" downloads, the remaining tracks are identical to the 2008 version? I downloaded only the 2009 changes/additions and not the full version since I already have your 2008 version and didn't want to hassle with downloading something I already have. Thanks!

Yes, it's ok. I've put them separately for those people who had the 2008 version. You should only add (or replace) Taffy's and Manufactured Skin I added yesterday. These are a really new addition (for me too)
Greetings.

I'll put the other ones little by little...

The Sound Of Blade Runner 2010 Edition 2010
Well, like I promised, is time for little news.
First of all, for people who got my previous TSBR editions, I've to say that there are only a few new adds this time but I think they worth it. I'll begin to put only the new one tracks here with a little explanation of changes in this new 2010 edition. Basically they are new sounds I've found searching in BR workprint and Blu-Ray edition.
I know they are minor changes but I think this is the way to spice things up a bit specially now there's no news about Vangelis and his music...
Greetings.
Vicente, Sun Jan 10, 2010
Well, This is the first add: 06 From Police Headquarters to Tyrell Co.
It's a new version from TSBR 2009 Tyrell Co., vol1 track 6. Now is 2' 28" long and you can listen to new Vangelis an ambient sounds located in police headquarters (interview with Deckard scene) now without any voices or distortion. Clear sound and in flac version.
This is the link : 06_From_Police_Headquarters_to_Tyrell_Co_.flac
Well, tomorrow another one...
Second track for this 2010 edition: (The seventh from disc 1)
Rachel new edit: Now you can hear amazing new Vangelis sounds hidden in surround channels from Workprint edition. Wait for the last seconds of this track...

Waiting for the new BR addition lately I put a new piece of my Grand Suite series for those who enjoy like me with Vangelis music and for people that are just discovering this great artist.
Here you are GRAND_SUITE_PART_8.mp3
Well, now is the time. The third add to TSBR is the fantastic "Chew's Lab" theme (11th track in TSBR vol 1). You all know that it appears with crystal clear sound in BR trilogy. That's why the only thing I've done with it's an enhanced mix with background sounds and Vangelis music effects that appear inside the surround channels. It seems the same track (only 15 seconds longer) but there's a lot of "hidden" new sounds that you'll discover if you pay attention. Look at the sound spectrum differences with original.
Not an spectacular addition but I like it. 11_Chew_s_Lab_2010.flac.
See you tomorrow.
Regards.

The next track is not one of the main themes of BR but I think it's very Vangelis style one. It's the small "I'm the Bussiness" theme now with a new introduction.
Tell me if you like it.

Next track is an extended film version of " Rachel sleeps ", now 3' 45'' long and with a windy introduction like you can hear while Rachel is sleeping (not while Roy Batty is waving goodbye, Mr Rousseau). Enjoy it and please, tell me something about these new adds, I'm a little sad these winter days and I need some positive feedback. ;-).
The best news is that our friend Jack will do the Cover art for this "definitive" version of TSBR. He put me some previews and I think it's an awesome work. In a few days all this stuff will be finished, don't worry.

The Sound Of Blade Runner Definitive Edition 2010
Ok, this is my last post with new music for TSBR project. I think all my contribution to this wonderful soundtrack is really over now. That's why I've decided to call it Definitive edition. With these four tracks you'll have my complete version. You all know my original idea was to compile a soundtrack with music in the way that we can hear inside the film and that's what I've been trying to do.
Last additions are four.
1. Pris Meets Sebastian : A re-edited version with BR blues intro and music inside Bradbury's building.
2. Dangerous days Raw version: Music directly extracted from Blu Ray 28 and 29 chapters. Minimal edition and only without human voices.
3. Wounded Animals Raw version: Music from BluRay, 30 to 33 chapters. Rain, lightning, doves and another sound effects but always with original film music.
4. TSBR intro: A brief introduction mixing some amazing BR Sounds TSBR intro
And now we only have to wait for the great Jack's contribution who is working onTSBR Definitive Edition covers.
Best regards

Thanks Vincente, for this wonderful work.
It has been very interesting following the progress. Both hearing the tracks, but also reading about how you made them.
I already have a folder... The Vincente Blade Runner Edition, a title I think I keep since I think there are a lot of versions out there called Definitive.

Thanks Mark. I agree with you abot the "definitive" title but in my case I can say that is true... at least until a new Scott's and Vangelis Blade Runner version. Maybe in 2019? Who knows...
Thanks again Mark and enjoy music!

The Sound Of Blade Runner Score by Vicente is awesome and it was a pleasure to work on this project!!!

I am inclined to think the version posted by JacKc should be the Definitive Edition while the one you upped on br2019 should be the 2010 edition... but we need to wait for Zhora's kind contribution to the current investigations to solve the mystery!
Hi DC
I am almost totally confused now ;)
On JacKc's 'Black & White Workprint' version the first track TSOBR Intro is 3:29 long, but on Vicente's '2010 definitive' version it is only 0:51.
Am I missing something here?
