Welcome to the Mega Man/Rockman thread, a place for you to get you fix of the various incarnations of the Blue Bomber's tunage. No matter what name you prefer to call him, I think we're all in agreement that his music is all kinda of awesome.

NOTES:

-As of 3-3-2010, this thread has undergone it's 2nd overhaul. As such, it will be organized differently from before.
-Soundtracks with ** next to them indicates my own personal work through conversion and such.
-Over the last few years, Capcom has started to crack down on anyone looking to make a profit off of doujin albums so a few of them may be more difficult to come by because they may not even exist on the net. Just something to keep in mind.
-Most of the music is hosted on Mediafire because there are no download limits and of all the hosts I've used over the years, it's the most convenient for me to use. A few mirrors exist for some soundtracks thanks to the generous forumites here. They are given credit if a link is used.
-Everything is mostly MP3 but FLAC formats are supported when available.
-Due to mysterious editing issues (Jessie also ran into a similar problem in his thread) not all of the music will be listed in the first post but rest assured, all of it is on the front page.

Music is listed under five main categories.

Official Releases: All albums that have received an official release, physical or digital, will be listed under here, including doujin albums. A link to VGMdb indicates track listing and when the album was released. You can usually find scans that came with the physical copy included with these downloads.

Openings/Endings/Commercials:
You can find the opening, ending and commercial track albums under here. Look in the third post to find these.

Fan Soundtracks & Game rips: These aren't official soundtracks but they exist because sometimes the official score is messed up (see Capcom's Rockman 7 OST for a good example), or there isn't a full blown soundtrack to begin with (Mega Man Powered Up and Mega Man Maverick Hunter X). Also music that has never gotten the official release treatment can be found here. Look in the third post to find these.

Fan Games & Rom Hacks: In order to give you even more Mega Man/Rock Man music, we have a selection of music from the numerous fan games and rom hacks. With Mega Man's popularity increasing by leaps and bounds, music from the fans continues to grow. Look in the third post to find these.

Misc
Stuff like wallpaper and other things that don't fall into music can be found here. Look in the first post to find these.

If anyone knows how to convert NSFS into multiple mp3 files could they do so for the following Mega Man hack music games?: Rockman Deus Ex Machina, Rockman 2DX, Rockman Exhaust, Rockman 2 MIN, Mega Man Ultra, Rockman no Constancy, and Rockman Exile?

I have them in NSF form but they are all in one file and I have no clue how to convert the songs so they are single mp3s. The NSF downloads are below in one download.

Its not that hard Get Foobar2000 its an experimental media player get a plugin that will play nsf format heres the fun part foobar has an option to convert files to whatever convert them to wav files then use windows movie maker to make them into avi files then convert then to mp3 using a avi to mp3 converter its time consuming but if your like me you dont feel like paying for it i did it with FF VIII and IX soundtracks using foobar and I know it works for super nintendo im sure theres a plugin for any systems sound format its the were in the year 20XX for christ sake

Sounds like Foobar my be the best ripping/converting tool. Last time I tried using it I didn't get far so I just gave up.

I've upped The Mega Man Mixtape, which is by JYoung.

All the rom hack music from completed games is also up. Have the fun with the music from those games is spotting a familiar tune in 8-bit form. Out of all of them, I feel Rockman 2 MIN is the weakest in music, but it still has some good tracks.

Thanks. I've had a lot a free time on my hands over the last few months so uploading things I have hasn't been a problem. Some of the more elusive sounds like Rockman Strategy and such could be a pain to get but we'll see if we can get 'em.

BTW, guys, that Super Famicom version of Rockman & Forte is done in stereo, I believe. I can put one up that's non stereo if you like.

Also, the Saturn rip for Mega Man 8 outside of having the exclusive tracks has slightly different some from the OST. Not a bad thing, but the OST also has some tracks that the Saturn version doesn't have. Basically, what I'm saying is, it doesn't hurt to have the OST and the Saturn rip for MM8.

The music for MMX1-3 posted is free from the errors that the Rockman X1-6 Collection suffers for anyone that's interested.

Ultra, Exhaust, MIN, Deus Ex Machina, Exile, 2DX, and Constancy are all done in 8-bit NES sound format. So if you like 8-bit MM music, I'm positive you'll enjoy those. I personally feel that MIN is the weakest of the bunch but it still has some good tracks. Most of the MM hacks have 8-bit versions of Mega Man music or 8-bit versions of other game songs.

As for the rest, it's pretty good stuff. Road to X sounds a touch MIDI, but it's still a good listen. I'd give it a B-. Mega Man GB Arrange has a lot of good stuff on it, even if some songs do sound the same. Maverick Hunters is only 4 songs long but it really freaking good. You can't go wrong with R.O.C.K.MAN.

In Japan, they released Remakes of the 6 Megaman CLassic Games for the PS1.
There's Rockman Complete Works from 1 to 6.
RCW 1 and 2 doesn't exist because they used the same 8 bit tracks until RCW 3.
Oh and thanks reg ;), i downloaded all the Hack Roms soundtracks, i didn't have them in my collection.

Happy to help. Thanks also goes to the dude who converted the NSFs to mp3s. I've wanted those in mp3 form for the longest time. If I can shorten the length on them or get someone who can I'll re-upload them.

I enjoyed listening to the wily wars songs, but I noticed that the zip is missing one tune from megaman 3: its the all stages clear tune when you defeat wily. Since Sherlock also has the wily wars tunes, I'd light to ask if he has that missing tune.

Mega Remixes 4-13 have been added to the front page. These are compilation remix albums I did a while back. Remixes come from New Grounds, OC Remix and various other sites. If you downloaded the Mega Man Mega Mix albums, you've probably already heard some of these songs, but you may find some you haven't heard before. When I made these, I tried to focus on compiling tracks of MM music that doesn't get remixed that often.

Rockman Battle & Chase is down already? I didn't up it too long ago. Maybe Mega Upload is just sucking. Anyway, I'll reup it at Gigasize. If you guys don't have this OST, I highly recommend it. It's different from the usual brand of MM music, but in a very good way. It's one of the few games in the classic series that doesn't use old themes from previous MM games.

Rock-X thanks for getting that All Stage Clear from Wily Wars MM3. I'm adding it to my album now and tagging the whole OST.

I got's a question: is the Rosenkreuz Stilette which is posted the same from Rockman Perfect Memories? I love the rip but I find the silence is too loud and the songs can appear choppy at times. The soundtrack is killer, but I'd rather a clearer version.

Yeah, it's the same one. That's how I found out about the game and the music. If someone can do a better rip then by all means.

Fun fact about MM9's music: It may sound like NES music but it wasn't made using the NSF format. As a result some notes in MM9's music are out of the range of the NES's capabilities.

So what would MM9's music sound like if it were made with the NSF? Mathew Valente has recreated the entire score score in NSF form. It sounds similar to the actual MM9 ST, but if you have a good ear, you can tell the differences. I've converted the 34 NSF files that were in winamp to mp3s. Give it a listen.

I've listened to it too. This confirms what I always suspected. Even when I played the game the 1st time, I could tell the differences from the Soundtrack and actual game. The beats that stood out the most were the title screen tune and Wily Stage 2's tune. The beats in the game were closer to the ones Mathew Valente's Not Safe For Soundtrack than Capcom's, believe it or not. Thanks for the upload.

Mega Man R is up. This soundtrack consists of songs I've picked out from 20A3.org's music archive for a Mega Man game I'd like to make reality some day. A few of the tracks come from existing NES games but most of it is from the hardworking chiptune lovers at the aforementioned site. The info list included tells what track is what, but if you prefer to be surprised just listen to it without checking the info list out.

Rockman 9 NES 8-Bit Sountrack [TSSF]

Could replace the Mega Man 9 TSSF link with this? If not replace add our version.

The link they have up is not our version, that's just a cheap NSF Stereo Emulated copy (NES only outputs in Mono). Anyone can make a WAV file using an NSF emulator.

Also our release is larger file size as it was encoded with high quality LAME VBR (q=0/100). We matched the timing on the OST (even based our artwork on it), it wasn't a "thrown" together copy like the link they have up in that thread...give it a listen.

I've had the same problem. Don't know what's wrong with the site.

Not a problem. The rip you guys provided is in much higher sound quality than the wave files I converted to mp3s for tssf's MM9 NSF soundtrack.

FYI Matt (TSSF) said that the emulated conversions was an older set too, some of the NSFs are out of date...I also included his final NSF in that release. As soon as I get my cart back I'll work on those others...prob be next week (I hope).

Well I haven't found much new outside of some more 8-bit Rockman music. Unfortunately, it's in pttune format and I have no clue how to convert it to mp3. Sucks because there's a good a mount of 8-bit music in the file I downloaded. If anyone knows how to turn pttune to mp3, that would rock. I would but Rockman Unprecedented isn't finished yet and I don't have the NSF file for it. Mega Man Returns is also unfinished. I've been trying to contact the author of Blood Plasma's music but he hasn't replied. I've had no luck getting Rock Beat 2.

No need for apologies. I love Mega Man/Rockman music. It's clear everyone in this thread does. I think everyone should have or at least be able to hear all the Mega Man music that's out there so I try to find whatever I can. Of course it isn't all me. Members have helped out and I've really appreciated it.

This is the first in a series of huge compilation albums that I've begun working on. This is basically my love letter to Mega Man music. Spanning 6 discs, it has music from the MM games by Capcom, remixed tracks by Capcom and music from fans. This is not a small download. I made this with the intention of it being able to fit on a whole CD-R. It weighs in at over 680 MB when it's unzipped/extracted. I've also packed it with over 400 pieces of fan art. So if you got a ton of HD space or you're planning on just throwing it on a CD-R or whatever, download and enjoy. This was a lot of fun to make.

No prob. The album released on Christmas day and the people over at the DoujinStyle forums already had it up. A few days ago it was only in torrent format but someone thankfully put it in mp3 form. I just tagged it with the mp3 art. It's a good album. I really dig it.

There is adjustments for playin on the phone, as well as Roll being unlockable after beating the game once.

But I gotta ask if anyone has the Mega Man 3 remixes by OCR's Disco Dan. He used to have a site containing all of them, but it's loooong since been deleted off the face of the web. And the only one I can find online is his Snake Man "Get Down" track.

Yeah, I've got 'em. I was actually thinking of posting a single download with all of Disco Dan's MM stuff. I can do that right now, actually. His work is more than deserving of having it's own album.
