As mentioned by some others (and if you go on Kenji Kawai's VGMdb entry), this is Kenji Kawai's first anime OST.
The music from the OVA is alright, but imho there are better albums out there that he's made. One thing for sure
is that this album really needed an upgrade in terms of sound quality...

I also wish Victor Musical Industries could've added in the two missing BGM tracks from the OVA into the OST...
there was plenty of empty space left on the record so it really confuses me as to why they didn't add them.
Maybe we could've also had an extended version of some sort of the short title logo...heh. It's really catchy!

Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon?


Never released the soundtrack or even FYC.

I've just watched Detective Dee 3 this morning in theater, the music was really good !! I just can't understand why they don't release anything...The other movies of Tsui Hark have OST, the ones Kenji Kawai too...a question of rights ?
Need to wait the blu-ray for ripping the end credits again huh...and sadly the EC music is not that enjoyable as the one in the music.
Globally the film is great, better than the 2nd one in my opinion, they also improved their CGI and reduced the shots with it), and the 3D looked really perfect, never seen such a good 3D !

Kenji is the best when it comes to stuff like this. Now all that is left in my collecting from Blue Seed (i'm a completionist of a sort) are Blue Seed - Yousei Yori Ai wo Komete Act. 4 : Sakura Hen and the Blue Seed Super Variety Pack. I know these are difficult to find, but I'm still having hard luck finding these last two albums.

Does anyone have the Bakuretsu Hunter OVA Deluxe album in 320k or FLAC?

I'm looking for the Red Spectacles in FLAC. Either the original or the more recent "Complete" version.

K30X-7103 = Original 1987 version
KICS-1337 = Complete 2007 version

EDIT: I may have found it. Will post when verified.

There seems to be something up with the releases of Red Spectacles. All the literature says that the "Complete Revival/Edition" version that came out in 2007 is the original soundtrack, but with extra songs. But looking at the MP3 version of the original soundtrack, there are a handful of songs missing. I thought maybe the files I had weren't really part of the original album, but on the K-Pleasures box set, there are 2 songs from the Red Spectacles section that are not in the Complete Edition, but are on this original version I have. Tracks 1-18 are the same, but then 19-24 are different, with the original soundtrack being much better a selection.

So with that being said, does anyone have the FLAC version of the original album? I can't find it in any of my sources. And all the ones I find saying it's the Red Spectacles soundtrack is actually the newer version.

Now i know what that "K-pleasues?" was. I thought it was folder or something. So i was looking for "Le temps de Reve" on there, knowing I know that track for sure.

A bit of... research was just easy to get that info. K-Pleasures, shows in VGMDB in each track a in parenthesis what movie the track is from. So if you know the track was in K-Pleasures, were you not already seeing that is not Akai Megane? Not knowing Japanese is no excuse. You just look at it and you see something different. :/

anyone has Tetsu no Hone Flac, or better mp3 rip? I know i asked about it ages ago, but i dont even remember if someone said anything. The one I have and share is full of noisy frequency. :/

I am very sceptical of it, old albums (all pre-renewal stuff i think) have been *remastered* and the waveforms doesn't look good (sound compression (loudness war)). I decided not to keep it.

'Remastered' means going back to the original multitrack master tape (usually 2", 24-track), and mixing it down to 2-track stereo (usually digital these day) from scratch, with any processing/cleaning up/additional effects done at the same time. This may be done to give a new 'feel' to the overall sound (different engineers have their own preferences as to how a record should sound) or maybe because the original stereo master was lost/damaged/degraded over time. it does not mean tweaking the EQ/adding reverb etc., to an existing stereo recording/CD/whatever. In other words, no one who contributes to this forum (unless they're a professional sound engineer with access to original multitrack masters) can offer a 'remastered' recording here.
