Well, I haven't gotten around to downloading Daydream Nation or In Absentia because I have SoulSeek and SoulSeek takes forever to download anything.

Buuuut I have Fear of a Blank Planet and I was pretty amazed. I was half-expecting something I wouldn't like but I can say that Porcupine Tree might become my latest obsession. They are really goood.

Ok, I finally got to listening to Sonic Youth and I definantly would like to put a vote down for this one (if I can still, that is). Sonic Youth is good - I liked the album and everything that you recommended buuuut they didn't capture me from the beginning like Porcupine Tree. I mean Porcupine Tree made me zone out just listening to their music - it was wonderful wonderful bliss.

So my vote goes for Porcupine Tree.

excellent. at least someone actually bothers to check new stuff out and not be a douche like Shoden. Porcupine Tree are close to my favourite band, Wilson is supremely talented. Anesthetize is like, the best song ever. i can give you a ton of stuff to check out if you like and maybe become a prog freak like me.

Loose question. I can't vote in a presidential election because I'm on the wrong side of the Atlantic, but if the question stands otherwise then no.

But I stated I'd heard of the bands, I said I was spoonfed the stuff, I'll go into a little detail: I have unfortunate friends with diverse tastes in music who've sent me songs via MSN, some of the songs feature the selected artists. I didn't like the sound of the music so I didn't get any of their stuff otherwise, unless you want to introduce a rule stating how many songs of each artist are to heard to be accounted to "hearing of them", the point walks tall.

I'm pissing you off aren't I? Well, I just wanted to explain and doing so has it's prices.

For This round I'll vote Faith No More to me, the more decent of the 2 artists. Now what I predict here is Animal Collective overtaking FNM, they seem more popular here.

Ok, I feel like I've really made a huge arsehole of myself with that post.
But to be honest, if I hadn't deliberately come out of the blue and actually admitted and exemplified the issue, which has been pointed out before, who would have? Who's to say no one else sheeps, votes blindly, moves along? It's easily possible to vote and move along because you don't HAVE to instate a reason to your vote, it's very tight and nazi like to demand it but to do so is to get a fair contest, I remember Moonlapse contemplating the idea before in the earlier bouts.
I've screwed myself over here by admitting first, suppose there's always a price. I've portrayed myself as a massive wanker doing this, I'm sure some of you are pissed off at me, but think; I'm not the only one who's done it or does it. There's victims and criminals in this issue.

Yeah, Trent I just think - where I live it's really gimmicky and cool to like the Kinks, and I generally don't like the production and sound of retro rock guitars and vocals.


Either way, obviously, The Mars Volta; personally I find them admirably ruthless, genuine, individual, charismatic and mind-blowing with an all-round brilliant sound [not that it's possible to say it has a specific "sound"].

And for my two cents on the National was merely that they didn't do much for me, very few bands do nowadays.
