@ostgems: as far as I know there are no official CD releases of Excalibur (despite Amazon goes on offering all those "sellers" sets) but only bootlegs using the official poster of the movie Excalibur (1981) - IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082348/) and other images. In soundtrackcollector (http://soundtrackcollector.com/title/8282/Excalibur) there's one from the label "Dandalf The Dragon" that escaped their Bootleg section below, and entered also discogs (http://www.discogs.com/London-Philharmonic-Orchestra-Excalibur-Original-Motion-Picture-Soundtrack-Millenium-Edition/release/640107) attributed to Flying Dutchman, a real label that released LPs in the seventies and is no longer active.

I've uploaded five images for the bootlegs OldWorldMusic and Lancelot (same tracks) in the Custom Covers thread.

Yes, Gogo1406, those are same the images I put in the Custom Covers thread and linked in my previous message, that seem to be scans of a physical CD, but like the set of tracks they refer, they're not official. There are lots of bootlegs like that, made from sound leaked from recording studios and artwork expressly made for it that is later printed on paper/discs and eventually scanned. I uploaded there too a second take of another artist for the same album (very common in bootlegs).

I guess that in many cases the artist was just playing, trying to emulate the work of proffesional graphic designers for personal use or simply for the fun of it, as you see often humorous names for inexistent labels like "Johnny Records" for something of Williams or "Cat & Mouse" for the soundtrack of a movie about a mouse that wouldn't have been the first options for cheats (besides the honest self-crediting added by some artists in their creations). But, if there is demand, cheaters will offer them for purchase with the existing artwork or with new one.

Some investigation on the "album" can make it clear: you can't find any reliable info about that label. For example: all the entries released by that "Old Wold Music" label listed in this site (http://www.discaffinity.com/en/label/old-world-music) are just one: this bootleg. Zero entries for such label in the extensive list of musicbrainz (http://musicbrainz.org/search?query=old+world+music&type=label&method=indexed).

They are so many and so many users unaware of them, that they not only thrive in eBay but also infiltrate Amazon and are submitted to other online databases like discogs or soundtrackcollector, despite the editors do their best to add them to the proper "Bootleg" sections. For this case, the bootleg is rightly classified in the page of soundtrackcollector.com that I linked in my previous message.

Lately they even sell DVDrips with SFX, lol. Hard to believe? Look at this page of amazon.fr (http://www.amazon.fr/Daddy-O-Original-Soundtrack-John-Williams/dp/B00HR82N7G/ref=sr_1_46?s=dmusic&ie=UTF8&qid=1397220156&sr=1-46&keywords=%22john+williams%22). It's the DVDrip made by our buddy aescalle (Thread 115725). They added some artwork et... voil�! An official release!

So, as a rule, one shouldn't trust that an album is official (normal release, promo, FYC) just because there exist some scans of covers and discs claiming it. I try to be careful about that, and many of them are very obvious, but even so, from time to time I discover such cheats in my collection. The fix is easy then: I rename the set as Bootleg and share it again.

I am very grateful to everyone who shares ANYTHING, be it scans or digital booklets.

I may not show it expressely very often but I indeed appreciate every contribution. Big thanks to all who share anything here or have the will to do it, and to those who contribute good mood to the thread with their appreciation or comments.

For what I've seen, the subject of this thread has been always the official artwork for both kinds of releases. Since digital are much less abundant than regular ones it's natural that after some time the proportion to scans decreases. I don't have a lot of them, but nothing prevents anyone to share big chunks of their gorgeous collections, either as a means to prompt others' shares or as a pure gift to the community, like some users do from time to time.

Besides, anybody interested in fulfilling pending requests of digital booklets on the last months may save time by having a look at this list and then scan the thread forward.
