I'm not sure that the midis are meant to be played or if they are just the control files for the notes that the player has to play.
I thought something in the vein of this quite some time ago, that's why I've never attempted to play back MIDIs from any RB installment or DLC until now. But maybe they're still meant to be played? Anyway this is not very urgent for me to find out, I guess I can lay these *.mid files off for a while.
Goodbye!

I've downloaded Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for PS again. With a new method I checked some of the WAD files and noticed that my old method skipped some of the tracks inside the archives. So, this re-rip is next on my list.

UPDATE

I'm currently taking a look at some original Playstation titles because I feel like it. (No I haven't forgotten about Harry Potter)
I just had a major breakthrough with those pesky XA streams that most of the PSX titles utilize. They are interleaved by 0x930 bytes (raw structure) with each layer either with and end marker or several segments inside. I wrote a script that detects the layer count, searches for segments and correctly extracts them with an according header. This will get me SO far in terms of ripping speed! If you have any suggestions, what PSX title to rip, be my guest. ;) I'll take a look at some of the bigger titles for now and continue with something else later.

I think creating new threads for different formats would be more organized, giving shorter lists to navigate instead of one long one. Although, it might make it harder to maintain different lists.

As for requests:
Rugrats in Paris
Rugrats - Studio Tour
Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire

And if PS2 is allowed, Fairly OddParents: Breakin' da Rules.

To be honest, that would be really SOME risk. You see, XeNTaX always had problems with posting copyrighted files and they almost had to close the forum. That's why Luigi left and made his own forum with free postings. If he starts to allow music releases, that's a bit much I think. Also, the forum is for research and music is only a very small part. I think it's best to leave it like it is. Just my opinion.

I NEED HELP

Dear faithful users and fans of the VGMPP. I really want to open requests again to provide you with the most requested streamed rips out there! However, it's sometimes hard to find ISO images. If I find one that is not a torrent (forget torrents when searching older games...) it is usually hosted on a site that only lets you download with a very limited speed. For this reason I've decided to create an account on Zevera, a nice multi-hoster premium service. To get the most out of it, I'd just take an acount for 730 days so I don't have to fear I'm running out of time any time soon.

The problem at the moment is, that I don't have the money to pay for this account at the moment. I'm currently even getting social welfare as I'm not able to work.
I really don't like to ask for money but the conflict between needs and wished demands a solution. If you want to help, please contact me via PM and I'll send you further instructions.
I hope you know how uncomfortable I feel doing this because I like to keep money completely out of the ripping community and I refuse to take money at any other time than the current.

Thanks for your help.

UPDATE

I'm currently downloading the whole archive from Knurek, to be found here: https://hcs64.com/mboard/forum.php?showthread=26929
Please give that man a like, he does so much for the community by sharing all his and other rips for free! I once uploaded my whole collection to him, so you might find it somewhere on his servers.
Now, as soon as I've finished downloading, I will also download zophar's collection to archive: https://www.zophar.net/submit-music
So yeah, that will keep me busy for some time.

Why not earlier? Well, I always ripped myself because in many cases, music was missing in the rips. Right now, I'm trying to minimize the effort in ripping, so I'll rip anything that is either not found in those two archives OR is definitely incomplete and somebody wants a re-check.

For backup and archiving. The whole point of this thread is to PRESERVE video game music in it's native format. So while it may already be "safely uploaded", it doesn't hurt to have another backup. Besides, nothing is ever safely uploaded. What if the owner of the server falls into some rough times and can't afford to keep that server running anymore? Alphas backup could save the day.

I had an easy time with Ravioli Game Tools (http://www.scampers.org/steve/sms/other.htm) getting out audio from the Destiny 2 PKG files. But whilst it can't get them out with names (Naming them "File|No.|"), it seems to be able to keep their grouping intact, meaning if you find something you recognise, you'll likely find the rest of it's collection next to or near it. When performing the process, just select the "w64_audio" packages (You'll probably have the best luck with "w64_audio_0215-0249" packages, if not any that lack a localisation like 'en', 'mx' or 'jpn'), tick "Create subdirectory for each input file" (To make sorting just that little easier), "Convert Sounds to [OGG]" (MP3 is not supported and the variably low bit-rates do not necessitate WAV if it's even supported) and let the tool do the hard work. I don't know if the folks at XenTax will be able to bypass the encryption and/or figure out a way to export the audio with names, but this is the best we got as far as I'm aware. Wwise sure is one tricky blighter for us that hunger for our music collections or dialogue banks.

It was also able to pull audio from the following packages just so you don't miss anything:

- w64_client_bootstrap_unp1_0.pkg
- w64_sandbox_01da_en_0.pkg
- w64_ui_bootflow_unp1_0.pkg

Here's some examples of what I stumbled upon:
- A sublime theme from The Farm: http://www.mediafire.com/file/vqwo5lfibpn4nge/File1363.ogg
- A civilian's comment, presumably to a player: http://www.mediafire.com/file/xywgwugwud741cs/File0380.ogg
- Shaxxual Content?: http://www.mediafire.com/file/adzgjn6r3lrck2a/File0383.ogg

I've also spotted a decent amount of Destiny audio either for reuse or just simply left in, with one such delight being the Jukebox music from the old Hangar Bar.

- w64_client_bootstrap_unp1_0.pkg
- w64_sandbox_01da_en_0.pkg
- w64_ui_bootflow_unp1_0.pkg

Here's some examples of what I stumbled upon:
- A sublime theme from The Farm: http://www.mediafire.com/file/vqwo5lfibpn4nge/File1363.ogg
- A civilian's comment, presumably to a player: http://www.mediafire.com/file/xywgwugwud741cs/File0380.ogg
- Shaxxual Content?: http://www.mediafire.com/file/adzgjn6r3lrck2a/File0383.ogg

I've also spotted a decent amount of Destiny audio either for reuse or just simply left in, with one such delight being the Jukebox music from the old Hangar Bar.

How do you use Ravioli GUI for Mass Effect 2 files?

How do you use Ravioli GUI for Mass Effect 2 files?

I've never used Ravioli for Mass Effect 2 myself. In fact, I've only ever tried it with Destiny 2 & briefly tested it with Killing Floor 2 (Although I think I was indecisive between it & I believe wem2ogg for the latter, as one would extract the audio in a organised manner, while the other one would extract it with file "numbers" that corresponded with the XML data & let you trace the actual name down).

I ended up using Gibbed's Audio Extractor for Mass Effect 2 (audioextract_rev27) to extract my Mass Effect 2 audio data: http://mod.gib.me/masseffect2/audioextract_rev27.zip. It can even get the audio out of the .AFC files for the base game with names, especially the music.

I am sorry for asking this, but I am trying my hand at game-ripping. Right now I am attempting to convert Fairly Oddparents: Breakin' Da Rules for Xbox and SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature From the Krusty Krab for Wii. I used VGMToolbox and quickBMS to find the audio files, but I cannot understand how to convert them: .wav files that are around 1 KB and .wav.str files that vary in size. Winamp can't play any of them and I do not know what values to use to convert them to .genh files (if that is an advised method at all).

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Not that easy. You'd have to write your own script to convert these. I'd do it but I don't have the time right now...

I have the game file that might contain the music cues from Spider-Man: Edge of Time, the file is a dat file yet I don't have anything that would extract it.

Well, I finally found Trauma Center: Second Opinion somewhere. I kinda already PM'd Alpha without reading this far down the thread, but since he's kinda busy, I figure I'll ask here if anyone happens to have a copy they could reupload. The only working option is some paywall site (which also just closes itself once in a while).

Hi @Alpha23, could you reupload the Amazing Spider-man videogame Rip or soundtrack please ? Thank you !

I second this, their first game soundtrack was epic, the second one only had 1 or 2 memorable cues.

If I am allowed to make a request, is it possible for anyone on here to make a game-rip of spider-man ps4?

Just discovered this thread, and I finally found a complete gamerip of some Skylanders soundtracks!
Can the Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure and Skylanders: Giants soundtracks be re-uploaded to MEGA or something similar?
Or does anyone have the downloaded files that they can upload?

Note 1: had its own kind of audio container with the headers stored at the beginning of the archive. Additionally, the RIFF headers were wrong or incomplete in the PC and X360 version. All cases respected in the script I wrote. :)
Note 2: The files of the PC version sometimes have a zero block at the end, which is played as a millisecond silence. Keep that in mind when combining the segments. Anyway, the other platforms have better quality. ;)
