Springberry Symphony Orchestra needs your help!
Devotees will remember that I represent (and conduct) a 100-piece unregistered orchestra called Springberry Symphony. Well, I got together with a few people on the council and we decided to reward you guys for existing.

The orchestra would like to make a remix album of songs from all over the Pokemon universe. That’s where you come in! If you read down this far, please take the time to suggest one or two songs from anywhere Pokemon for our symphony to play! They can be from games, or the anime, or the movies, or anywhere! As long as it’s Pokemon, We’ll find it, we’ll arrange it, and we’ll play it.

This project is entirely non profit and we are not affiliated with the Pokemon Company in any way. We will reveal the final tracklisting after we receive enough qualified suggestions. The album will be available for download the moment it is mastered, right here on this thread as an exclusive to the purveyors of Final Fantasy Shrine.

Even with vocal remove plugins in Adobe Audition, it’s very hard to get a clean cut of the music. Besides, all that’s diffrent is removal of the drums at the beginning, a fadein, skip to 2nd verse, and notched up a semitone (they like to do that in pkmn movies). You can notch up the pitch in audacity. The drums can be removed (sorta) by cutting the low-freqs in traktor.

BTW, you can find a better version of "you and me pkmn" in the pokemon live! original cast recording album.

EDIT@Modda: don’t think it’s been released, but the closest thing you can get, is get "the time has come" from pokemon live! original cast recording and notch the pitch up/down. This dude’s vocal expression is a bit diffrent to the guy in the episode.

Also, while I’m here… when does the High Touch/Ashita wa Kitto single come out?

I understand what your trying to say, Junh1024. It is one of those differences that separate the full version from the film version. However, it is because of this difference that I want the film version: it has a sense of soft fadeout at the end that does it, whereas the full version feels like it leaves you hanging. Even so, I will never give up on the possibility of having that version.

No matter how you arrange it, Route 27’s music is EPIC. It was so amazing the first time I reached Kanto in Gold Version, I just sat there with my headphones and listened for minutes.

Unusually for a Pok???mon single, this CD does not contain a karaoke version of High Touch! It contains duet versions with only Ash and Dawn singing, but no track with neither of them singing.

That said, the Instrumental version you’ll find on the CD is in fact the excellent arrangement used for the preview clips at the end of the show. Get ready to rock out with it (and a special cameo appearance of an earlier season’s theme discretely hidden near the end of the track)!

I actually saw "Pokemon Live!" in-person back in 2000. This was a one season, nation-wide, touring musical written by 4Kids in the Pokemon universe involving all of the main characters. It was one of the few pieces of the Pokemon pie that was created independently in the US without Japanese supervision.

This thing was crazy. The story and book were done by a former soap-opera writer, and follow Ash, Brock, Misty, Pikachu, and the gang through a story arc that involves everything from Giovanni creating a "Mecha-Mewtwo" and trying to steal Pikachu to power it…to a pronounced secret crush Misty has on Ash, to (get this)…undertones of a former affair between Giovanni and Ash’s mom (before Ash was born). I’m not kidding. Of course the thing ends with the "real" Mewtwo jumping in out of nowhere at the last second and saving the day with a powerball of memories…like I said…this thing was WEIRD. The music came from the previously released CDs and was all essentially shoe-horned into the story at appropriate places.

As far as cast, most of the people were straight out of college, but interestingly, a few members of the cast went on to bigger things. Andrew Rannells, who played James, went on to star in the anime dub (4Kids) as Harley, Morty (gym leader), and other voices. Darren Dunstan, who played Giovanni, went on to actually be the dub voice director for the final few seasons of the show while it was under 4Kids. This is mainly the Advanced Challenge/Battle seasons. He did a really good job with those in my opinion.

Costumes were mascot style for the Pokemon, but there were a few cool puppet effects too. Mainly, it was for the kids and should in no way be considered in-cannon for the universe…unless you want to include it in your head. I think the fact that there’s so little written online about it is by-design. Japan would probably want this thing erased from humanity if they ever saw it. All the same, some of the singing is cool, and the whole spectacle was awesome for me as a 10 year old.

Along the line of suggestions, the original battle theme is always a fantastic choice, along with ‘Tears After Cloudy Weather’, the song that plays as Ash is reciting his dramatic and heartwrenching love of Pikachu to the angry Spearows in the first episode! Oh, and the RBY Gym leader theme. That one has always been a favourite!

Yellow has a total of 56 tracks, with at least two being new: the modified opening demo with Pikachu, and the appearance of Musashi & Kojiro.

Crystal has a total of 102 tracks, with 16 new tracks. The majority of the new tracks were created for the Battle Tower, as well as a new battle theme for Suicune.

I am still investigating the 209-track .minigsf rip of Emerald, but it is safe to say all the Battle Frontier tracks are new.

As I am able to convert these rips, I will try to make them available for you all, if that is acceptable.

I really wish someone had it… it’s super rare. Only about 1000 were released.

By far the upload I am anticipating the most is what may be a first-of-its-kind project: a full-game rip of Pocket Monsters: Platinum Version.

I have said it before probably, but this project combines the exclusive tracks of previous Platinum rips with my own converted Diamond/Pearl rip to form a full-game soundtrack for the Platinum Version. This is not only based on what I know about the music from D/P, but also my own gameplay experience. I hope to upload it by Memorial Day weekend.

I am also opening my Pokemon music collection to requests; game rips, anime singles, OSTs, and everything else you could need. Ask away!

And finally, I myself am a retired Pokemon trainer with a career dating back to 1997. I retired after mastering Emerald, but with Platinum’s release, I’ve decided to come out of retirement and resume my training lifestyle. O yeah, again; anyone can fill in me(or the rest of us) about the project’s progress?

"Advance Adventure – To Forina!!" – from Pokemon Jirachi Wish Maker, a very powerful fanfare that I would love to see extended into a longer more complete song. This song has been used a few times in the anime, and is part of the Japanese opening song "Advance Adventure" (To a degree)

"Oracion" – from Rise of Darkrai. I personally highly enjoy this song and have the hopes that it will be thouroghly considered.

"Aaron 1" – from Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. Powerful, amazing song, in my opinion, and I wish that it will be included.

"The Guardian’s Song" – a personal favorite from Pokemon 2000 – The Power of One.

Other suggestions include "For Manaphy" and "Depart! Towards a Voyage" both from Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea and some of the theme music from Destiny Deoxys.

As you can tell, I highly enjoy the music from the movies and hope that some of it might be included in the final cut. Also, I have plenty more suggestions, but these are my top few. If anyone doesn’t know which song I am reffering to in my post, respond to this message and I will try to clear it up.

Finally, I apologize again for just walking into the conversation, but when the music is arranged, can you, Latios, or anyone else that might be involved in the project post the scores (sheet music) for the selections played? I play multiple instruments and would love the ability to play some of the music from this series.

I can confirm it; 86 G/S tracks, plus 16 Crystal Tracks….I have the same rip myself, and am teaming up with GoronMoron to turn it into MP3s.

People who are "special"; would include cast members, people who helped work on the movie (though maybe not all of them); and perhaps close friends and family of those people…. and on rare occasion, people they are trying to impress or get to fund their next little project.

And I know you can Rip them using listentoyoutube.com…etc but the conversion process lowers the sound quality so unless some one can tell me a site that rips original or highest quality sound quality from youtube please let me know.
The reason I want these are because they mostly instrumentals of some of my favorite tracks that are quite better than most remixes out there.

Thank you! I remember frequently going to #pocketmonsters a long time a go. But when I logged in the other day, did !rules, I didn’t see how you could get a voice to have access to the XDCC server. :\

Sadly… vixy doesn’t work as well as it used to. Mostly converting any stereo format to Mono…. and they aren’t offering any form of links; so best bet may be a cheap recorded version from youtube… but they aren’t even offering all the tracks.

So no bashing it till we hear it… than if it’s really that bad, I may consider buying it… though I will utterly feel stupid if I buy it and a real CD rip ends up online before mine arrives; or the same day or a few days later (that isn’t obviously a copy of mine… ).

And than if it’s not that great and the above doesn’t end up occuring; I can try out my new ripping program. I haven’t had anything to whirl it out on… and I’m too lazy to re-rip things I’ve already ripped from my CDs. >>;; I know I shouldn’t be… but at the moment as long as it sounds decent enough and works, I don’t really care what bitrate it is.

Umm…I hate to cry foul more on this than I already have, but that’s not how compression works, you know. You could re-encode to whatever you wanted off of YouTube, but you’re just re-encoding what’s already been compressed. You’re doubly degrading the quality, since YouTube compresses anything uploaded. So from a CD, that’d be AIFF–>MP3 on YouTube –> MP4 video (if you do it the right way) –> MP3 again, or just to worse MP3 if you do a straight stream-rip off youtube.

P.S. I have no problem with a YouTube rip for everyone else’s sake. But if someone finds a real rip, pleas post that too. Thanks.

track 2 ok very year we hear this song the world of pokemon and most years its the same song but not this year it very good its remixed piano bells this track will make you fell good 5/5

track 3 we also hear this every year ask ketchum his theme and this year it also been mixed same with bells and piano so 5/5

track 4 Awakening is a creepy tracks engergetic its what you exept in a pokemon movie so 5/5

track 5 the title theme this year they took the destiny deoxyz theme and remixed it the opening are always great and this year is no different 5/5

I think they are trying to bring the "cuteness" factor back into Pokemon… it’s been a while since they’ve had her sing anything. This could be their attempt to bring back their older audience… but probably not.

Now it’s difficult to see what I’m trying to get to; mmm what I actually want to ask of you guys is if you can tell me if there are arrangements of the themes I’m looking (Lucas Theme and Lucas Battle Theme), or if I can get a little more orchestrated versions of them.

I’ve got Pok???mon Battle Revolution but haven’t had the time to play it, so I thought maybe a remix (or arrangement) of the Lucas themes might be included in the soundtrack of the game.

Since the Pok???mon music spectrum is so wide, I’m asking this of you guys. Some of you may have heard more of the Pokemon soundtracks that exist out there (anime and games alike) and will be in a better position to answer my question. 🙂

Actually, Shinji Miyazaki has very little to do with composing any of the music used in any of the video games. That’s all done by employees of Nintendo and Game Freak (Junichi Masuda and cohorts), then those tracks are arranged for console by the respective composers on those games. Miyazaki only deals with arranging those tracks and composing new ones for the TV show and movies.

The games you describe might have the theme you’re looking for, but you’ll have to dig through them. There’s not all that much that’s hidden Pokemon-wise. It’s either already on a soundtrack, in a game rip, or it’s never been released or does not exist. Sorry.

Hey… You’re right! I haven’t done proper reaserch, I guess! I just don’t know why I thought Shinji Miyazaki was the person behind the music in the pokemon games; I just checked, and every game has "Junichi Masuda" credited for the original music in the main games of the series!!!

Even so, I think Miyazaki’s work is not at all a simple task. I mean, taking the music composed for a video-game (sometimes very basic tunes) and convert it for scoring a movie…? That’s quite an accomplishment!!!

And, about the other thing you mention… yeah, sure I can dig through all of the games and pokemon soundtracks that have been realeased… I was just hoping someone would help me with that… 🙁

Oh, I’d argue it’s very hard to capture the essence of something in composition too (as a bit of a learning composer myself).

Music is something lots of people can enjoy, but it is not an easy task to deliver. I think Miyazaki’s work is great, he takes the same recognizable melodies we listened to on our Game Boys (or Nintendo DS), and expands on them.

Though it’s still background music, I agree in that the instrumentation is very accurate. I already said this a few pages back, but the orchestral pieces in the anime sound magistral!

…and regarding mediaright (http://forums.ffshrine.org/member.php?u=113741)’s comment, a bigger challange (I suppose), is to compose music specifically for a concept. Not just ANYONE can create a Mario Bros. Theme, or a Zelda theme, that fits adequetly to the concept of a Mario, OR a Zelda. Now THAT’s a REAL challenge.

That’s why musicians like Koji Kondo or Nobuo Uematsu are memorable, because the music blends so well with the concept it was created for. 😀

Would you be willing to upload your fa-dub project of that? I found a few songs from that pretty cool, but knowing they were dispersed across different albums, I just didn’t have the patience for it…

I think the only part I might NOT have the music for is "Amber’s Theme". Everything else was completed or WILL be completed by re-arranging the 2nd version of Route 1 and Victory Road on these discs. There’s no "mostly" actually, they’re all game-based… In a recent interview (I think it was last year), Shinji Miyazaki stipulated that the fans have to say they want more BGM CDs, which is obviously imply the sales. So really if you can get a copy of this soundtrack, please do (come on it’s not that expensive: 2700yen, plus it’s coming with a deluxe box). I’m pretty sure Shinji Miyazaki was worried about including anime-only BGMs while the game-based ones would probably interest the anime fans as well as the games fans.

Anyway, it sucks we don’t get OK!, but Advance Adventure’s orchestral version is already on a disk, and I’m happy with the rest of it.

Of course, I would totally support buying the actual CDs if they weren’t so expensive to ship overseas. In my experience, I’ve paid more to have an item shipped overseas than I did for the actual item itself.

When I heard that these CDs were coming out I was really excited like the rest of you. I do confess that I did in fact download Disc 1 (THANK YOU SO MUCH BY THE WAY GOLDEN DARKNESS!), but only to tie me over until my own ordered and payed for copy comes in the mail!

I love the arrangement of "Eye Contact! Rocket Gang!" That theme, and the expanded version for the Goldenrod Radio Tower Takeover, was my favorite theme from Gold, Silver, and Crystal, so hearing it orchestrated is amazing.

I have to say, I could’ve posted my remarks on this DL alot sooner, but my ears were so happy that I didn’t get any good night (what’s left of it) sleep…
It is, as one of the judges in the Pokemon contest says; Remarkable! The one track that I have longed for decades is here, Pokemon Gym II, complemented Kanto’s Gym Battle perfectly. It made waters come out of my eyes! The best Pokemon Soundtrack yet! Even 2 of the 3 jingles are present!!!

Altough it has the best pieces, I can still think of some that could’ve made the it. Also, even though they were never orchestrated, I actually wanted to hear (more like still waiting/having high hopes) the skipped Trainer Battle Themes (specifically Hoenn and Sinnoh). I’m curious of what instrument he would’ve choose for the drums synth, either bongos or drumsets (I voted for the bongos). And I felt that Last Road/Indigo Plateau was overly done (too much instruments playing at the same time) at the end. But I digress, this still the best one yet!

P.S.
For the poster who said that Pokemon Gym I and II are (sounds) the same earlier… Forgive me for being rude, but you need to get your ears waxed, you can clearly hear the difference.

Obviously I was exaggerating about the decades part. Andif you really can’t hear the difference in those two tracks, let me give you a heads up, Gym I uses a distinct synth while Gym II uses a cue-by-cue of electronic guitar and violin riffs, heck even the intro sounds very distinctive from each other (one is smoother while the other is blown in your face)

I forgot to say this before; this man combines 2 of my favourite music genre in to one awesome mash. Rock & Roll and classical orchestra, I just adore it!!!

The Japanese Amazon site now has a listing for the recently announced soundtrack and has revealed some information about the upcoming set.

* The first "TV Animation Pocket Monsters Original Soundtrack Best 1997 – 2010" apparently broke sales records. The site doesn’t make it clear if it means "broke sales records for music in general" or of it just means "broke sales records for a Pocket Monsters release."
* The listing confirms that this second set will focus on the stuff Miyazaki Shinji composed specifically for the TV series.
* The set will be composed of two discs and have more than 100 tracks. The previous set, for comparison’s sake, had 88 tracks. The tracks will be digitally remastered just like the tracks in the first set.
* I might be wrong on this, but it seems like the listing is saying that if you take all the tracks from Vol 1 and Vol 2, you’ll have all the music that’s been used from the beginning of the original Pocket Monsters series all the way up to Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl.
* The booklet that comes with the set will contain an interview with Miyazaki Shinji, director Yuyama Kunihiko, and others who have worked on the animated series.
* The first printings will have special packaging.

I have a very specific request, though, and that is does anyone have high resolution scans for any of the covers of the movie soundtracks for the 8th-13th movie soundtracks? (i.e. greater than 700×700 pixels in size)

– The original TV Anime Pocket Monsters Original Soundtrack Best 1997-2010 set broke sales records, probably why a second set is being released.
– TV Anime Pocket Monsters Original Soundtrack Best 1997-2010 Volume 2 will focus on the tracks Miyazaki Shinji composed for the TV series and the movies!
– The set be two discs but it will have over 100 Digitally Mastered tracks from the original source like the first set.
– If you collect Volume 1 and Volume 2, you’ll have gathered ALL the music from the TV anime and the Pok???mon movies from the very first episode up to the Diamond&Pearl series.

It’s hard to believe that it will be ALL of them! 😀

The only orchestra I can think of (and it may not be right) is the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. They’re the only major orchestra there that I’ve heard of.

The only reason I’m saying all of this is because we were lucky that we found volume 1 in FLAC, seeing as how nobody re-uploaded it because nobody on the forums had it except for a few people who registered just to get the links and then never came back to the forums.

I second this… but mostly for the battle theme version of OK!
