It's no wonder I like you, my friend, just as weird as I am.

Silent Running, I bought in on Beta, for $50 back in the 80's, then got VHS, and have had on DVD. I love the music, I first recorded it on cassette from TV, then bought the LP on green vinyl and finally got the CD. Love the songs. I always wanted to make a jacket with all of the patches on it, just never looked for the patches.

THEM, one of my favorite nuked monster movies. In the movie, the Utah State Police uniforms, are really the same as the real Police, so I found the patches on ebay, including the Red Cross patch as seen in the movie. Unusual that they used real instead of fictional.

Jonny Quest, excellent series in every way. I have the DVDs, of course, and the soundtrack. As always, they reused the music, heard in Space Ghost, and Dino Boy.

Weird is the best way to be! all the other people in my life are so miserable with there life, it's not funny! I guess that's why so many people think I'm weird, I love old movies, music (real music) sci-fi, computers and having fun with my friends (you guys) here and Star Trek. I'd rather hang out here then hang out with my family.

Hot damn AZ! I though I was the only one who tried to record stuff off the TV :) (I always got a low hum on the tape's) I took my little brother (he's 55 now) to see Silent Running at the theater when it first came out! I finally got the soundtrack here on the shire several years ago and still listen to it. That's when films were done right, even for a low budget 1950's film! It was cheaper to use the real patches then make up there own. I still love watching the TV show UFO from the late 70's, Space 1999!

I don't know if you can get the old patches anymore, must of what I've seen is the current NASA program (The ISS) patches, the old ones are all collectable and extremely expensive. I have a few from The Apollo Program and Viking 1 & 2 Mars Landing Programs thanks to a family friend that retired from NASA, he's been dead for a long time and had no children so he left them to me when I was a teenager.

Yeah I saw that Rasputin has the DVD first season for $15.00 not bad at all, I need the one from the 80's or what is called Jonny Quest: The Complete Eighties Adventures and do not want to buy what Amazon is asking $23.00 dollars! which is a rip off for a 30 year old show. I did not know they reused the music for other shows! makes since.

Mr. Scott, what did you think of THE H MAN? It was creepy scary to me. The 12 To The Moon's story makes sense, and it is cheesy enough to be enjoyable.

Hi, Pearlcorderman, long time it has been. I'm still kicking and screaming, in my nice white jacket. I have DVDs on shelves, in wallets, and stacked precariously waiting for them to fall on the dogs. To consolidate some, I put in paper CD sleeves, then put in cases in order to save space. Open case, find many DVDs.

And now back to, Godzilla the Series, brought to you by Jar Jar Bink's MESA DON'T CARE Jedi Surplus Store.

Yes, my wife finale gave the ultimatum. the shelves were too untidy and were two deep with the DVDs and Blurays. So I had to either 1) look for a new place for myself to live ;) or 2) Hide them away. The thing is, hiding them away is better as she never knows when I've been out to buy some more LOL, so it's a win win situation.

Pearllllllllllll! great to see old friend!

Doing okay, as long as the heat here does not kill me! it's 102 F (dry heat) today, lets go back to winter already! lol

Good to see you hanging out here again! we missed you, give my love to your family from me and a big hug to your boys :)

Unfortunately none of us well live long enough to see the day when we finally can see mass storage on a little crystal and all our movies and TV show's can be carried around in our pockets.

Scott

Also so good to see you back as well my friend. Your presence was greatly missed. I shall pass the wishes and hugs on.

With no wife, I take up as much space as I want to, I'm waiting for the day when we have a nice earthquake and they all end up on the floor or my body is found under all my DVD's, Blu-Ray's and bookcases LOL

Earthquake? I saw the 1974 movie in the theater with Sensurround, not impressed, the theater did not fall on me during the earthquakes.....then again, it was good it did not. John William's music is still awesome, as almost all of his music like, Lost in Space, Land of the Giants (50 years this fall), Time Tunnel, Jaws, Close Encounters, E.T. and some unknown movies called Star Wars.

As for TOS, I bought the re-mastered set last year, some nice FX, and my favorite is The Doomsday Machine, more intense with the new FX. Of course, I will keep the original un-modified set. too many good memories and closeups of the 11 footer just looks so much better than CGI.

The Theater I saw the movie had Universal Sensurround sound system too, it sure shook my innards! I can't thank of a movie or TV show John Williams did was bad!

I've done the same thing with my set of TOS too, one thing I do love about the Blu-Ray set is it has both the Original footage and the updated CGI stuff, music, and sound effects, which CBS was kind enough to re-record, so you can watch it either way. There's nothing like a real model! CGI just does not give that realizem and feel of something tangible, at lest not yet anyway.

Hi Guys, I was chatting with Scotty the other day and was talking about the new project my boys and I are working on at present, so I thought you might like to see a mock up poster for it. Trying to make the poster look like it comes from the era we a pretending the episodes are from. We are working on creating an alternate Doctor Who series based on the classic black and white era. We are busy writing scripts at present, but have finished the first episode, with two more to film for that story.

We are planning on doing a complete series, so it may take us a while. Here's the poster below.

Don't take this seriously, but the title gave me an evil though. Moon of Death....drop pants and fart. (Darth Vader laugh)

Scott, I would love to get blu-ray, BUT, after buying Beta, VHS. VCD, and DVD, time to enjoy what I got.

I remember going to see silent running while in the Army in Germany. I also have Battle beyond the Stars on DVD too and many others. I also ran out of space in my two DVD cabinets and have DVDs and Blu-rays piled up around my TV. Many of the old movies I found on E-bay. I tend to just watch news and my movies there is not much worth watching on TV.

The main reason I switched to a Blu-Ray player is because it plays DVD's too! so I didn't need to replace all my DVD's (a lot of the old movies well never be transferred to Blu-Ray) with Blu-Ray, and secondly my boys (which all 3 had already switched to Blu-Ray) could bring there movies over and we all could see a movie together. I still have my VHS tapes too and a player to boot, and catch all kinds of laughter from them, my oldest is still after me to trash them...not going to happen.

AZ I would pay real money to watch you do that on the moon! "and as soon as you dropped your pants, the vacuum of space would pull the rest of you right out too" zzzzzipppppppppp pop lol

Scott, you pay for the trip to the moon, I will put on a show for you. I would pay, it is just my mattress is getting too sunk in for take too much money out from under it.

Battle Beyond the Stars, good movie and soundtrack. Not a big fan of James Horner, but, he has done some real good new music in the movie, when he ain't recycling his other movie music (ST II and Wolfen). Speaking of Horner, it was a shame he could not do ST II, II and IV, then it would have had some continuity musically. Leonard Rosenman, who did ST IV, reused music from his Lord of the Ring score in ST IV and some Fantastic Voyage.

My Mattress is a little short as well, so both of us are stuck here on Earth :(

Yeah Horner music was differently different, personally I loved the music for Battle Beyond The Stars and STII, STIII (Stealing The Enterprise is my favorite), along with Krull and The Rocketeer...He did reuse a lot of his old music because that's what the director's wanted, unfortunately with his death (2015) well never hear anything new from him.

On a side note AZ I have been trying to find some of your old pictures but without any luck! thou I do see you found a picture, There's one page on Google for images on Planet of the Apes (1960's) but that's it...Sorry

Interesting site, adopt a dinosaur, get a certificate to print or share, posters and more. Like with with JW, I get into the promo sites for the movie. Also, downloaded from youtube the soundtrack, and other music inspired by the movie music. I love my music.

I rewatched ICE AGE. Such an enjoyable movie series. "I'm not fat, I'm poofy." My new avatar is from that movie.

That's another reason way we get alone so well, my Father was full blooded Italian, now my Mother was part Irish, part Prussian (probably the Russian side) and to top it off came from Texas (so part Rebel, but had a great-great grandfather that sided and fought with the Union...go figure) and she was a Rebel/Union women all rolled into one. I've been using Firefox v. 60 (it's 64bit) and it runs very well! I need to ask how much RAM is on your computer? and what version of windows are you running? plus it helps if your running the latest versions of Sliverlight, Java, and Flashplayer, all internet servers are set up for windows 10 nowadays and anything less and web site's won't show content correctly, just another way for Microsoft to control things and to force everyone to windows 10.

Scott, my Uncle really uprooted our tree to find our roots, and noticed the skeletons. We all have skeletons, and then into the closet with them. My Great Grandfather immigrated from Spain, and my Great Grandmother from Italy. So, I do mean the old Country.

As for my PC, Windows 7, and Ram I really do need to upgrade. All programs up to date, and drivers, too. It was just Firefox that slowed me down, after version 56, slower than walking in the La Brea Tar Pits. It acted like there was no internet cache, loading anew each time. So far Seamonkey is fast, after a new site is cached. And, Microsoft, they make Death Eaters look like Saints.

Yeah I finally went with 10 too, after they fixed the original version! now I'm up to 17134 which is a lot more stable and plays my games without all the dropouts or BSOD's (Blue Screen Of Death) I like free too! I still miss windows 7, stable as hell but getting long in the tooth and about ready to join the long list of dead OS's. I'm going to have to build myself a new computer, the one I use now is about 6 years old and starting to show it's age. Just not looking forward to spending so much money on a new one! things have really changed in the computer industry and more and more games are requiring faster CPU's and $500.00 plus video cards, thought I'd never see the day when a new CPU would cost almost $1,000.00 or more! Just like the latest cell phone's! outrageous! but one needs a new one every now and then. I just spent $800.00 on a new Galaxy Note 8, I needed a new cell phone, my old one was one of the first generation smart phone's and it was only good for making call's on, none of today's app's would run on it, so when I got my new one I felt like coming from the stone age to the 21 century :) now I would not give this one up for nothing, and now I find that Samsung is coming out with the new Galaxy 9 series! oh well.

I'm shocked your cell phone works AZ! I thought all cell carriers switched to digital by now...amazing! I don't use my cell phone to play games, I use to text my friends and family, to do my banking and read some news. I still have my Apple Itouch for my mp3 music (better then the Zune I had) Yeah I play solitaire on my phone, when I'm waiting for my Doctor, other then that it stay's on my desk or in my pocket.

10 year old PC! I'm surprised it's still running your version of windows AZ! the longest I've seen a PC last is about 5 years, after that time things start to fail! Hard Drive First then the RAM, all HD's are rated for about 5 years (now with Solid State Drives [SSD] I give them about 3 years before they die, no moving parts, all very fast RAM chips and cost you an arm & leg) RAM chips when the unit is turned on the chips expand (Heat) and when you shut your PC down they cool off and contract, causing micro cracks, plus the tiny components on the chips go through the same thing, day after day. The biggest reason people need a new PC is Microsoft creates new software, that needs more RAM and faster CPU's to process all this, windows 8, 8.1 and now 10 have changed everything! My system has 4 CPU's (AMD Quad Core) with 32 Gig's of RAM and I know it is way out of date for windows 10! sad really! But what do I do? I can't even play any of the newer games because I don't even meet the minimum requirements to play a game and I would just waste my money! so it's either upgrade to a newer PC or play all my old games, which I have done now for several years...a catch 22!

Spectre, take care and come back when you can.

Scott, It is called the luck of the Irish when it comes to computers for me.

In 1986 I bought my Commodore 64, for 10 years I was happy, then support in the form of magazines and other stuff dried up. Then in 1996, got my first PC, now on my 5th PC. I only finally got online in 1999, was because of Y2K. After that, it did get better in this way, meeting good people like you and all of the others I knew and know here, and SHOPPING all over the World. Just this week, I got for the first time, a package from that far off land, Hawaii. From the Southeast, it is very, very far away.

I just watched the movie and now watching the extras of one of my most favorite Disney movies...20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. Being a hardware man, I love the design of the Nautilus. It is my 3rd favorite sub behind the Seaview and Flying Sub. And, let's not forget the music, awesome.

Love that movie! and still watch it! I did get to ride the Nautilus at Disneyland when I was a kid :) yeah even for me Hawaii is 3,000 miles away (my oldest son and his family) came back from there 2 months ago, had a good time but the weather was not in there favor!

What I do to keep older systems going Scotty, is I never turn them off so they aren't continually expanding and contracting. Love watching all those movies/TV shows too, real water is always the best, just don't say that to the special effect guys, they hated working in real water, could never make water size match the model size :) always a dead give away. Yeah it has stuck with me after all these years too, sadly Disney Land here in California it lasted until 1998, then reopened in 2007 as Finding Nemo.

In Japan, it was on Laser Disc in the 80's and that is the version I got, with Japanese subtitles, way better than my over the air recording I made in 1983, the only time on NBC-TV. Still the best version that follows the comics. Of, course, Buster Crabbe's version is my favorite live version. I just watched the Sam Jone's version, not a bad movie, just silly in parts. I love Brian Blessed's Hawkman, a real treat to watch.

I can't even find a Laser Disc player, because I have a bunch of disc's I bought but no player...sucks. I've tried looking at our local video store (Rasputin's) but nothing so far, so I'll keep looking for the classic TV/Move shows. His Hawkman was most notable for me too! Ted Cassidy did the voice of Thun :)

Earth II I know is on DVD, so is Probe. I've burn them too, but they never come out looking very good, so I try and buy them, sometimes Amazon prices are not to bad, but other times...good Lord they want an arm & leg.

I have always been an Empire man, they should have won (they had the man power, ships, resources, military training [thou some Admirals had the I.Q. of a womp rat] and P.R. Department that would have made the Roman Empire jealous as hell) but we can't have the bad guys win! and of course the Emperor was a idiot! he always had to hold all power in his hands, be a sadistic sob and most important "Revenge" was his guiding light! That was the reason for his ultimate down fall, it blinded him and his excuse for all the evil he gave to everyone else.

It looks like Men Into Space has never been released on DVD! that I did not know, of course it was only on the air for 1 season...to bad.

Ted Cassidy was also in Gene Roddenberry's TV Pilot Movies Genesis II and Planet Earth (on DVD from Warner Archives). Oh, I bet you did not know he was in a little known TV series call Star Trek. (I'M NOT A RED SHIRT, so put that Phaser down.)

Yea, Warner Archives (Earth II and Probe DVD) have lots of our favorite movies and TV on burned DVD, for the low price of an arm and two legs or your first born child, whichever you want to part with. Never bought from Warner Archives, but, the DVD are un-copyable, so I have read. The ones from Amazon, I think are arranged through Warner Archives.

The Emperor reminds me of another leader, that really should not be named. Dogs howl, babies cry, and men wet themselves when his name is mentioned.

Oh, do I miss the Squire's music, and the way he slapped Kirk.

Now that AT&T has bought Warner maybe (crossing fingers, toes and eyes...made myself dizzy..."I'm so dizzy, my head is spinning Like a whirlpool, it never ends") okay enough of that crap! maybe the prices might come down and they might release more of there classic movies! I am hoping and praying that Comcast buys 20th Century Fox! if Disney gets Fox we can forget seeing anymore classic Fox movies ever again...Disney will bury them so deep in there vault my Grandchildren will have to watch my copies until they won't play anymore.

the only other leader I know that does all that is Bob Iger! :) May his third leg fall off and wither to dust.

Yeah I do love those pilots that never made it all the way! Phaser Rifle at the ready, set to disintegrate ;) Yeah Amazon has them and cheaper then Warner Archive anywhere from $14.00 to 18.00 dollars each. Warner has them, the price is a few dollars more then Amazon, so it's dealers choice and there both MOD (Made On Demand) so quality is any ones guess...my guess is there the TV cut, so 35 millimeter has been cut to fit your screen and we lose half of what was filmed and it's probably the VHS copy to boot. You would have thought after Gene Roddenberry death Warner would have gone back to the original negative and restored it and put it them out on DVD and Blu-Ray! but Noooo! I have "The Questor Tapes" on DVD and it's the same (TV cut) and Universal did the same damn thing. I have "Colossus - The Forbin Project" and it's the same way too (love that movie and both books) I have just read an article that Universal is now going to release a ton of soundtracks from there older movies! way to go Universal! now that we are older then dust they release them.

Soundtrekker is a one of a kind man! I hope he comes back!

Scott, if AT&T is like other companies, it will let Warner Archives alone to keep ripping us off, since AT&T is good at that already. The reason Warner is selling burned DVDs, it is cheaper than regular ones, and they say that they did not expect to sell the enough old videos to warrant a regular release.

I had received an email announcing UNIVERSAL PICTURES AND LA-LA LAND RECORDS LAUNCH “UNIVERSAL PICTURES FILM MUSIC HERITAGE COLLECTION”, so maybe we might see some we would have killed for (figuratively speaking) when we younger. I find a lot of the soundtracks I want are from Warner, and I doubt I will see them, like the complete soundtrack to the 80's Thundercats.

I have the Gene Roddenberry movies The Questor Tapes, Planet Earth, Genesis II and Spectre. These are burned disc recorded from VHS, and came as a set with Strange New World, I bought from ebay many years ago. Spectre video I have is the UK theatrical film with additional footage that includes nudity. I would love to have the soundtracks from all of those movies. Except for two tracks from The Questor Tapes on the Kolchak: The Night Stalker soundtrack, I am not aware of other releases.

We talked about the "too many DVDs storage problem", so I have started to consolidate my collection. I have may unused DVD cases, and found one that holds 5 DVDs, so, I put all 5 original Planet of the Apes movies in one case which is as thick as 1 1/2 regular cases, instead of 5 cases. Then downloaded a new DVD wrap, printed it on photo paper and it looks like I bought them that way. I am looking on ebay to see how many DVDs can fit in one case, and planning to buy a few. As I create more DVDS from VHS, Beta, and downloaded videos, I need all of the room I can get. If a set is in a slipcase, I probably will keep them that way, if no case, WATCH OUT!

I found out Saturday that some of the old movies Universal did are now on Blu-Ray!! Yes :) [Colossus: The Forbin Project] and at a reasonable price ($22.00) and keep the original aspect ratio! You can get all three films on DVD for around $50.00 dollars, all three have there original Aspect Ratio: 1.33:1! thou there is a downside, Strange New World is missing 3 minutes! City Beneath The Sea is on DVD, Crack in the World, I can see Amazon is going to own my credit card!

Yeah I just hoped AT&T would kick Warner's in the butt and get the old movies rolling out on normal DVD or Blu-Ray and straighten out the DC universe before they squaw that up any more then they have already. Lets hope La La Land gets everything from Universal and neither one squaws this up too.

I took it with me laddie! and looks like you did a good job cleaning the old girl!

I did a search and found a few on Amazon "Maxtek Black 8 Disc DVD Cases with 3 Flip Trays and Outter Clear Sleeve, 10 Pack" <---this on holds 5 DVD's per case for $15.00 dollars. I was looking for the larger ones! I have the first 4 seasons of Blue Bloods and it comes in a large case that holds 24 DVD's would be great for all the old sci-fi movies! but so far I can't find the empty case. I did find the paper selves which is crap and storage hand case's, so some one has to make them!

So at the end of my searches all I've found is Amazon (the largest is 10 DVD's in one case) or something on ebay...madding!

City Beneath the Sea, I forgot I had that one on DVD. I love the city, Pacifica. I still have the View-Master reels for that movie, reel 3D.

I saw one DVD case on ebay (I don't shop Amazon unless no choice) that holds 16. I would go to the thin cases, but, I keep losing them in between the regular ones, unless laying flat. I noticed that a lot of the DVDs I buy are in cases that have center clips not used that will hold insert (page?) that I could buy that would increase by 1 or 2 DVDS that are in the case. I remember buying some of my first DVDs in CD cases, I liked that at first.

With the program that I am using to convert mp4 videos to DVD, I will be burning on one of my favorite 50's TV show, Space Patrol. I have over 30 episodes I downloaded, and so far only got 4 on DVD. I just burned 4 episodes of Tom Corbett Space Cadet, another good 50's series. The 50's had some of the best Sci-Fi, I'm guessing because of the optimism and fear for the future in the 21 Century and beyond. And we know how great the 60's were for Sci-Fi!

I came across that when I was just searching for Earth II this morning, what a find! Can't wait to get that one, if one looks close enough you well see the Jupiter II model in the background when it shows Pacifica city...That's the last time the original model was seen until 1992 (search on youtub for jupiter ii original model) and someone trying to restore the model. It really was in bad shape, you'll see in the video.

The 50's was the best, at lest for us kids (at the time) your right AZ both where in full swing! I had so much fun and imagination when I was a kid, I tried to do the same for my kids! all three do love movies but only my middle son has gone to collage for high tec learning and works for a high tec company. So all in all I think my kids had a great childhood too...none have said otherwise!

I forgot, did anyone check the Matter-Antimatter Mix Chamber to see if Mr. Scott was finish calibrations before going to warp? So, where is he?

I watched some real classic movies, The Thing From Another World in Color, and the only King Kong, AND The Day of the Triffids movie, to me better the the updated versions.

I'm here laddie! had a wee bit to much at the last party! I woke up on the chamber (I'll talk about that later...may be) the inter mix is set right or I'll eat neutronium!

All great movie's AZ! The Thing From Another World did they colorize it? because I remember it in black & white! which for me makes it more scary and suspenseful! I still remember when they colorized the three stooges shorts and Laurel & Hardy shorts and they all looked horrible! Freaken Ted Turner should have been shot for doing that...thank God turner does not own any media company's anymore.

You got me worrying again about you!

The color version was a Ted special, and I liked them. Ray Harryhausen supervised colorizing some of his movies, and the disc can be switched back and forth, I sill prefer the colorized.

If you like Kung Fu movies and sort of bloody Horror, you might like Tsui Hark's Vampire Hunters. It is a very good movie, and I just watched it again last night (when Vampires are out), and it is not your typical teeth in neck Vampire movie, lot and lots of action, it is about a Master and his four students hunting a Vampire Master.

we are having high humidity here (which is not normal) so I have a problem breathing (COPD) and need to stay indoors, AC going and on oxygen and all this makes me sleepy and slow to want to do anything. I'm doing better today, thanks for caring my friend :)

Yes I do like movies of bloody Horror! along with Zombie movies (the good ones anyway...which is a very short list) I'll check that one out, sounds like John Carpenter "Vampires" which I really like...Thanks for the advise on movies! most of the ones others (that would be no body on this thread, but my family!) recommend are real stinkers and yawners!

On the colorizing of B/W films....I don't know AZ, the ones I have seen just don't look right! something about it just does not look natural! maybe it's me? I don't know! but for me it takes away to much from the story, the feel of the film, drama, suspense!! like I said maybe it's just me...I'm a Originalist! Yeah I know, real life is in color but some films just look and feel better in B/W and some films look and feel better in color! I can't imagine watching Ben Hur in black and white! or any of the other classic 50's and 60's film's in Black and White (at lest the ones originally filmed in B/W) re-colorized! like I said, it's just me.

I understand and will wait until you can post, and not worry, even tho I always worry. We, once again, have heat index warnings of 105, not use to that, AC feeling good now.

I too, feel some of the colorization is off, but, I still like to see color. For Sci-Fi and fantasy, colorized seems to fit. Take on how they did The Wizard of OZ, started in sepia tone for reality and color for fantasy, that is the way I feel about colorizing.

How do you like the Resident Evil movie series? I really like them, except for how they ended the series in the last movie. Really gross and really action excitement.

Thanks my friend!

Today is going to be 105 here to! unfortunately we have some overcast so the humidly is going to push the heat even higher, not looking forward to that. It's 10:20am here and it is already 93, yeah AC on and running! the major problem here is we live in a valley and the air quality goes down the toilet real fast and those with asthma or COPD really struggle to breathe...sucks but nothing we can do.

For some reason the Wizard of Oz works for me! I think because the fantasy scenes where filmed in color not shot in b/w then colorized. The technology just is not there yet that can turn a b/w film into a natural looking color film. Kind of like taking a 35mm film and up scaling it to Blu-ray then to 4K, just looks like crap!

I like the Resident Evil films, have not seen the last one yet, waiting for the price to come down more before I buy it and complete my collection...have the rest on Blu-ray. I heard that Paul W. S. Anderson and his wife Milla Jovovich are starting a new franchise based on capcom's "Monster Hunter" video games, we shell see how this goes!

Take care of your self AZ and stay under the AC like me :)

I checked out about "Monster Hunter", and in a sort of way it reminds me of my favorite video game, "Diablo". So, it look to be a good choice for a live movie to me, and I noticed it is an anime series, too.

I am watching Gerry Anderson's UFO now, and I still haven't seen any strings coming out of the heads of the actors, nice job.(LOL!) So far, I have never found a Gerry Anderson produced show that I didn't like, even the unsold pilots.

Scott, do you like anime? I remember my first, Astroboy, and since anime is from Japan, then would you not call Rankin and Bass's THE HOBBIT and 80'S THUNDERCATS anime since they were animated in Japan?

Hmmm I never heard or played "Monster Hunter" I'm reading about the game now! interesting story. I played the first Diablo, but never got the chance to play any of the others (work).

UFO is one of the best shows I ever saw as a teenager! never missed a episode and still watch it too. I've seen some of the other Gary Anderson shows, but Space 1999 and UFO are my favorite's. Every now and then "Comet TV" will show Thunderbirds Are Go or Thunderbird 6 movie's! which is nice to see again, oh they (Comet TV) has been showing "Flash Gorden" films! which has been nice seeing them again.

I watched Thundercats (my kids wanted to see them) along with all from the 80's and 90's anime, some where really good and we all 4 enjoyed watching them, but then my kids grow up and everything changed...school, girls, dance's...the normal teenage things. Now they still watch these shows but with there kids and my grandkids don't like them and want to watch the newer stuff "Not this old stuff" as they put it or play with there phone or ipad LOL things never change.

As for Diablo, started playing it in 1997 and last played last year. I lost count how many times I won the game, and love the Tristram town music. Diablo II has better play, just don't like how you clear out an area and next time you play you have to clear it out again, unlike Diablo.

Kids and their phones, I'm glad I never got one.

As for anime, the older stuff is better, when they started mixing cell art and CGI, not too good. Some of my favorite one are, Robotech, Hellsing (vampires), Captain Harlock, The Slayers(sword & sorcery comedy with Lina Inverse) Tenchi Muyo (comedy with teen boy and alien girls) and Record of Lodoss War (more sword & sorcery serious).

"Not this old stuff"! I have always loved "old stuff" starting as a teen, and prefer it still. Give me Dragnet, The Lone Ranger, Flash Gordon, movie serials, Bugs Bunny, and so on.

Some games are just so much fun to play and I count how many games I have won and still continue to play them today! I'm just amassed they still run under windows 10 and still play great.

Most people don't have a home (land line) phone anymore! I don't and my oldest son and middle son doesn't have one either! we all use our cell phones, my youngest still has a land line phone at his house.

We love the old stuff too! much better then the CGI crap they use today, yeah I love the old TV shows you mentioned above as well, plus 1 Adam 12, hell you can't find the old Bugs Bunny cartoons from World War II (to political incorrect for today...what a load of BS) I love those from that time period! luckily I found them on YouTube and downloaded them all. I just finished the 1st season of Hercules with Kevin Sorbo. I only bought the 1st season, now I wished I bought the rest.

Also, watched one of our favorite Star Trek Animated episodes, YESTERYEAR. Somewhere packed up, I have the storyboards from the whole episode I bought from Lincoln Enterprise.

Speaking of Lincoln Enterprise, when I bought stuff from then in the 70's, they sent as a freebie, a black and white photo of the cast of the TV series Search, and a color photo of Asmodeus from Specre, and I still have both.

Welcome to the thread Thief! Yes we discuss Star Trek and just about every sci-fi related TV show, Movie...you name it!

Mike Okuda and his wife are okay, there just 2 people that have been around longer then the others (most have passed away) and star trek has now fallen to JJ and we all have seen what he has done to our beloved star trek. Most of us here have watched the original show since the beginning (1968) and yes I am a old (60) and do not like what JJ has done to it. But all in all we try and keep the original idea alive...anyway welcome and have fun.

I'm doing okay, staying indoors as much as I can...another 108 today, that makes 23 straight days of double digit heat! Can't wait for winter lol!

Hercules was a good show! just could not get into it, I occasionally watched it. Same can be said about Xena warrior princess! for what I have seen at my local Rasputin store you can pickup both series fairly cheap! If it goes to Blu-ray all bets are off :)

Majel Roddenberry made a killing off of Lincoln Enterprises! I know I had there catalog too and bought a ton of stuff off them! I still have one of the film cells of the Enterprise blown-up, framed and hanging on my wall! I still have one of there Exploration patches "science" framed as well, most of the other stuff has been lost or taken over the years...sadly. The film cell I bought a long time ago is starting to show it's age, the others I keep in a strong box so the sun light has not gotten to them yet. I guess the only way to preserve them is to put them in very expensive display case's that cut out the infrared light (which is what destroys pictures, film and all the other stuff) I just take them out when someone wants to see them.

I'm about a year older then you, because my birthday is in September too! this year I'll be 61, damn Klingon's is right! they will prematurely age a person in no time.

I'm not to keen on the idea of Picard being in jj universe...a bad idea as far as I am concerned. None of the original crew will be back, and the whole change of the time line means everything is different so Next-Gen did not happen (at lest the way we know it) and we have seen the episode ("Tapestry") were Picard was wounded by a phaser blast and Q granted Picards request to change his life and in the end Picard was nothing but a lowly no nothing lieutenant. Some of the rumors I have read, Picard is on his family vineyard retired so this would take place in the early 25th century? so what is he going to be? a roving Ambassador for the UFP? A retired Starfleet Captain they jam into tough situations? (he'll never get any rest) who knows, but I still stand by my comment "A bad idea" and one Star Trek fans are not going to like! plus the down side is not a lot of viewers because of the CBS access crap (more money we have to spend) adds to less viewership then doing a National TV show...Nope this is one Star Trek show I will not watch, well make that two! I don't watch Discovery either! I've had enough of JJ's universe crap and bastardizing a great idea from Gene Roddenberry all in the name of "Lets change everything we know and love about Star Trek because we are in the 21st century and Star Trek has to change! because we have changed" what a load of crap

On a side note, has anyone checked the box office take of the last 3 JJ Star Trek Movies? No! well they have not done very well and I wonder why! It seems there may not be a 4th one, since Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth are asking for major motion picture actor salaries (something like Dwayne Johnson 40 million a picture) and Paramount Replaying No Way In Hell! Scotty, old friend, just saw you came back! Have you, again, been in some kind of transporter buffer for the last, what, three years? Anyway, it's good to have you back on duty, we have been in dire need of our old miracle worker!

Now I have to catch up on all the posts in this thread from the time you came back earlier this year (3 months ago). The reason I wasn't aware of the return of Mister Scott (sounds like a monster movie title from the fifties, doesn't it?) was my permanent ban just about three weeks before you rematerialized again. Well, banning Trelane didn't work, at least not permanently - General Trelane is back, with a vengence, just got rid of my old name. The machinery behind my mirror here on Gothos is working again, got a new one from my parents, so I can play again in my little castle, and have fun again! Hip, hip, hooray - TALLY-HO! :)

Have to go for now, will be back soon!

Oh, and good to see you again too, AZSneed, Pearlcorderman, and Max Stein!

Mister Scott won't say it, but, I think he was hiding on the Shore Leave Planet, until Spock found him and back in Engineering he went.

I just finished the complete series (all 6 episodes) of the BBC/20th Century Fox/ABC TV (US) TV series of MOONBASE 3. It is from 1973, made by people who worked on Doctor Who. I like the serious tone, and the good stories. The base is European and Moobase 1, the US and of course there are other counties, like Russia and China that have bases. The series is on youtube, no US release on DVD.and the DVDs are hard to fine, I got lucky on Amazon last year. As with BBC series back then, they erased the tapes and the series was lost, until they found the episodes in the US.

The Squire, f.k.a. Soundtrekker

As soon as I saw your reply in my morning email my heart jumped with joy that you had returned! Hip, Hip, Hooray!!!! (see I said it :p ) I had no idea you had been band! Who in there right mind would permanently ban a great man such as your self? as long as I have known you, you have done nothing wrong, hurt any person and have uploaded some of the best music!! Someone has a major screw loose!!! Thank God you have returned old friend! We have all missed you and your music, so strike up the orchestra and play my favorite piece "Roses from the South" (which I'm listening to it right now in celebration of your return!!!!!)

WELCOME HOME General Trelane!! Hip, Hip, Hooray :) (see I said it again) and yes using my name like that does sound like a movie from the fifties LOOOL

If you need any work on your machines let me know I am always available and can work miracles!

When you catchup some of my reply's might help explain my absences! I'll PM you and we can talk, until then take care my friend

Scott

Wow! The Squire is back! So you misbehaved again, and your parents gave you a timeout, and then they forgave your impish ways and turned you loose on the Universe again. Hip, hip, hooray!

"A Wee bit of to much shore leave laddie!! canna not like that Vulcan nerve pinch thing, blast that pointy ear man!" "but I'm fine now, in engineering and getting the old gal into shape again!"

I did a little checking AZ and that series is going for $66.00 dollars on Amazon for 6 episodes! and it's PAL format, which we can't play here. Yeah I'd use YouTube too!

Scott, I paid $20.00 June of last year for MOONBASE 3, and it plays with no problem on my PC. It is one of those times, the right time, right place.

Vulcan Nerve pinch, be glad it was not the Vulcan Death Grip or victim of Pon Farr :erm:

Speaking of Spock, I saw at Target a two figure set of Kirk and Spock from MIRROR, MIRROR and a TOS Sulu figure. Still putting out TOS figures.

And, also at Target, LP records of Pink Floyd and other Classic Rock groups...LPs! Nothing ever goes out of style, next up....8 Tracks. LOL!

The toy company Mego is back in production after a 30 year absence! so that's why we are seeing these figures once again! looks like a hell of a great year for Star Trek (the one we all love and remember!!!) and Mego is releasing 2 new figures! so I predict several people well be broke when 2019 rolls around LOL and yes that includes me :)

LP's are differently making a come back, not like the old days (there are 20 pressing plants in the US! that's it) plus no one make's the press's anymore and the technical know how to operate them is difficult to find and every pressing the press's have to be cleaned...so there is going to be shortages of vinyl for some time to come. 8 Track would be much easier to make then vinyl! but I bet we don't have the machines to make the players anymore! CD's have really squared the music industry.

Personally I much prefer Vinyl over CD's...nothing sounds better then vinyl!!, thank God I have kept mine all these years, along with my vinyl 45's! I still have a turntable setup hooked into my computer system so I burn the vinyl to my system and put the vinyl away. I even have a few laser disks, now all I need is the player :)

Mego back? News to me, and not surprised, now a days old is new, even company names. I saw at Wal-Mart the new Harry Potter figures(dolls) and for $20! I remember buying G.I.Joes for $1 in the 70's, oh how inflation has killed us!

I know that LPs are better than CDs for sound, for sure! I won't buy LPs now, unless I find one that has never been released on CD or can't find on youtube.

I have videos on the CED discs but, no RCA CED player. I have been transferring LPs and cassettes to PC. I find cassettes at flea markets and thrift stores cheap, transfer them, faster than downloading them with my dial-up. LOL! (crying, too)

Yeah they just went back into Business and bring there old line back to stores! They have a facebook page but so far I can't find a corporate web page. Yeah I sure wish my dad had not cleaned out the garage after we left home, he throw out so many of our toys that could have made us millionaires today lol

The store I use is Rasputin Music & Movies, try http://www.rasputinmusic.com/ they sell LP's very cheap! Unfortunately they are only in California, but you can order on line, thou there on line catalog is smaller then whats in the store. There CD's (at lest in the store I use) is huge! I could spend all day looking through there CD's and not get through them all. I even try the thrift shops (great place to find DVD's, CD's, and LP's) and way cheap!! sometimes I even find computer games, just can't find a Laser Disk Player...I'll keep looking. The CED player I've seen on ebay $60.00 to $300.00 and people selling the disks as well, check ebay AZ could not hurt. Yeah I do remember dialup! Sorry DSL has not come to your area yet or cable, you don't even want to know what we pay for cable...makes my stomach ache! but we only have two options in a city with 500,000 people in it...DSL (AT&T) or cable (Comcast)...sucks!

I looked at the TOS figures at Target again, and yes, Mego.

I have access to DSL (AT&T), just can't afford it. Besides, I hate, really hate, despise, loath, and so on, AT&T and the harassing calls to save on bundles.

I have been watching episodes of Doctor Who, the 3rd one, Jon Pertwee from 1970 and 1972. He is one of my favorite Doctors, along with Tom Baker, Peter Davison and Sylvester McCoy of the older Doctors. I enjoyed seeing the series on my local Public TV station in the 80's, now a few episodes on DVD. When the newer series came on, I was thrilled to again see K-9 and Sarah Jane Smith from the Tom Baker era.

I know that feeling AZ on both counts! I use Comcast, it is expensive, the only good thing is they don't call! there is no dial-up service anymore in our city...either DSL or Cable...sucks and only 2 carriers here, oh you can get over the air wireless (DSL) but it costs more then the other two!

I was a my local Rasputin store yesterday and all there Doctor Who series (DVD) are priced way to high! Yeah I watched the new doctor who series as well and the spin offs, but when David Tennant left (at lest for me) the show went down and I lost interest in the show and things changed for me. I still collect the music from Murray Gold, but now he is leaving and they have a new doctor, a female! When the show comes back on I'll check it out, I don't have much hope for it, but one never knows.

Mego figures so far look really good! I'll be getting a few for myself for Christmas this year and locking them away! by the time my grandkids have kids they may be worth more!

David Tennant was the best. You know, he is the Son-in Law of Peter Davison, regeneration of the weird kind. He also, made one evil Death Eater in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

I didn't get to see Jurassic World:Fallen Kingdom in the theater, so on the 18th the DVD/Blu-ray comes out. I need to find a way to see Fantastic Beast in November. How about seeing if Captain Pike's motorized chair comes up in Star Fleet surplus sale. I have some aged Scotch if you buy it.

I did not know Perter Davison is David Tennant father-in law! Yes he did a wonderful job on Harry Potter! he is a really good actor, I was just sorry to see him go.

I have not seen the movie at the theater, as a matter of fact I have not seen it period. Laddie if I can find it both you and I well ride in style for sure :)

Howdy, everybody
Scotty informed me that I was hangin' 'round the old-old-old forum, not this new shiny one. So for those who don't know Marc Cushman is working on THESE ARE THE VOYAGES #4. It's about Roddenberry & Star Trek after TOS. Supposedly we are going through the first movie or two, but I worry that the book would be too heavy to lift! Right now we're about 5 or 6 episodes into TAS, covering each episode the way the stories in the first 3 books were done draft versions, acting, comments from the media, etc And yes, I'm polishing Marc's words again diligently.

The Jacobs/Brown page for the book (with bare-bones announcement) is: http://www.jacobsbrownmediagroup.com/these-are-the-voyages-gene-roddenberry-and-star-trek-in-the-1970s.html

September 22, 1968, 50 years ago, LAND OF THE GIANTS debuted on ABC-TV. For me, one of my favorite Irwin Allen series, and for most episodes, it still looks real good, with the effects and giant sets. And, John Williams themes, and the 1st episode music, pure gold. So, off to watch the 1st episode in color, where as when I was 10 years old, I saw it in black and white.

I do remember the TV show! I was 11 when it was first on :) man has time flied by! I saw it in color, we had a color TV then and the first on our block, boy that TV weighted a ton! I enjoy watching those old shows when we were kids, sure better then what my own kids watched when they were kids, and today there is nothing worth a crap for kids to watch! what a shame! Time tunnel, Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea, Lost In Space, Batman (1966 show), Star Trek, The Green Hornet, so many shows for kids and the Saturday Morning Cartoons...boy we had it great back then!

I take my collection of Tom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny cartoons over for my granddaughter (she is 14) and her mom and dad watch them with us and we laugh our butts off!! next weekend I'm taking the Three Stooges collection over (I have all the years) to watch. I sure miss those times AZ! life was so simple, just have clean fun, no worries, no violence what so ever, oh we had an occasional scuffle with one of the neighborhood kid's but nothing like today!

Right on Brother! All good TV shows. Now, the 66 Batman, loved it as a kid, now it is too goofy to me. How about, the Man From UNCLE, Wild, Wild, West, Mission: Impossible, Hogan's Heroes to name a few more. So glad we can watch them again.

I feel sorry for kids today, with the junk to watch, video games and smart phones. We really played (outside), watched awesome cartoons, and real games (board). Of course. NOW, all of the stuff I wanted to buy that was not made for my favorite shows you can buy. Some of the toys I had like, vacuum form machine, plastic goop, both with a real heating units (never burned my fingers), not light bulb came out in the 90's, and some of the dolls...I mean, action figures, are always being re-released, so nothing ever really dies out, it usually come back around, like Mego.

P.S. I did not get to watch Land of the Giants, my PC DVD player would not play the disc, I need to buy a new player.

My oldest son bought me the complete collection of the man from U.N.C.L.E. (United Network Command for Law and Enforcement) I've watched that collection 3 times lol I still get laughs from my kids when they call or come over and see me watching those shows, but I don't care there funner then the crap they have on TV today! Just last night I was watching the old Dean Martin Roast from YouTube, still funny as hell today! Have you seen the new version of that show? Good Lord it is so vulgar, nasty and just down right crude! not to mention Not Funny at all.

Yeah I could go broke buying all the toys they have today, tho I will buy some now that Mego has returned :) I guess your right! I get email for a site called https://www.anovos.com/ they sell just about everything to do with Sci Fi shows and movies, great site but what they want for some of the costumes would make a billionaire pass out!

(at lest we still have the Sears Tower) like the others that proceeded Sears they didn't keep up with the times and relied on just there brand name...sad! This is what happens when we get comfortable about life, family, business...just about everything! Life has a way of coming up behind us and biting us in the butt when we lest expect it. Mark make sure you educate your girls that life's road is not straight an level, that life throws us curves, that there are valleys and mountains we have to climb, I've raised my son's that way and so far only my middle son paid attention, the other two, well just did not listen and I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop...and it well drop hard, it always does, sooner rather then later.

Hi, Olafolaf, good to see you here.

Halloween is almost here, and in the words of Garfield the cat....CANDY, CANDY, CANDY.....and watch out for Werewolves, since it is full moon time, and carry some wooden stakes...no, no, stakes, not steaks....and hammer, for the vampires. No worry about zombies, they are slow, just don't trip, or you will be brainless.

Visit the families on Halloween...The Addams Family, and The Munsters.

While one of the grand-girls tried to out together her Mega Blocks Monster High set, I played BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN in the background. The only thing that got her attention was the ending creation of the female monster, plus then I did a frame-freeze to show that Dr Frankenstein bi-located. He and Elizabeth escape the exploding laboratory tower for a final clinch and fade-out. But if you freeze-frame the explosion sequences INSIDE the lab, you can see him still there. That's because after the big-bucks explosions were filmed, including Frankenstein's death with the monster and Pretorious, the studio decided a happy ending was in order and re-shot the ending.

FRIEND … GOOD!

BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN is my least favorite Universal Monster movie, I don't care for the scenes of the mini people, too silly for a monster movie. But, you got to love her hairdo.

DVD/Blu-Ray's help us to find the bloopers we missed on TV, that and watching them more than once.

One thing I enjoyed as a kid at Halloween, was the all night Shock Theater (insert name used in your area) of monster movies. Now it is DVDs and I create the playlist.

We used to have those shown in the city I live in, but not anymore! To much gang violence and to many buttheads. I hope everyone had a great and safe Halloween last night!

The old Universal Monster Movies were the best! just clean fun and as a kid scared the crap out of me LOL

I understand there is a online petition wanting to change Halloween from the 31st. to the last Saturday of October, I think it's a great idea, not only for the kids but also for the parents.

Perhaps due to cold and rainy weather, we had only 23 trick-or-treaters last night. Our biggest night was 1995, when we had 109. Yes, I keep track!

While I waited patiently, I had THE GIANT CLAW going on the old viddy. So much cheesiness! Actually, if not for the poor fx of the giant antimatter bird, this would be a passable 1950s movie!

Happy November to all!

I watch my last movie for Halloween, the last Underworld movie, I like the battles between the vampires and werewolves.

Mark, I love the cheesie movie, The Giant Claw, bad FX and all. I went after Halloween shopping today, got a pet dragon, test tubes, pumpkin juice bottle and a broomstick.

Now Turkey month, gobble-gobble.

AZ I love all those movies, sometimes it can be heard to watch all the ones I love...not enough time in a day or life to watch them all.

It sure does...build character! My oldest son complains about Halloween (taking his daughter out) and the 2 hours he lost. How the hell did we raise a generation of lazy kids? and now the younger generation wants to get paid (a living wage) and not work for it? I'm to old for all these cry babies!!!

My parents let us go on our own when we hit 11 or 12, of course we were raised with enough fear that if we did anything wrong we know we here dead meat and our parents had every right to bury us in the backyard! The calendar has to be adjusted every now and then same with the clocks. Daylight savings times saves money and energy we use and I know it's left over from World War II which is left over from World War I but in the end it works....oh well, by the time the next generation takes over I won't care.

Well no surgery is good! The less they have to cut into a body the better that is, good to hear your back to walking. Hopefully both doctors visits were in the same building! I've had that before but both were on different ends of the city, talk about doing code 3!! I had something like 20 minutes to get to the other doctor's office and people in this town drive like idiots! Needless to say I made it with about 2 minutes left on the clock and then sit for 25 minutes waiting for them to call me. AZ you can always have your yearly Christmas video watching now! No one is going to say a word (phaser in hand set to stun, pointing it around looking for the first person that opens their mouth he he he) Kong on Skull island! Damn I have not seen that in years!! I don't know if you heard but Ken Berry passed away the 1st. Of December...sad :( anyway your right it is still a funny show. I watched the first 2 episodes of the new doctor who! Give me the old ones!!! She stinks!! And the music is horrible! For now, I'm done with Doctor Who, I'll stick with the old ones. Take care of yourself AZ :)

Oh I agree 100 percent Mark! I do have a few ebooks but need to get a newer ebook reader! Cataracts are starting to set in for me, so in a few more years will have to get it fixed. But real hardcover books are still a big deal for me and the only way to read. Loved Tom Clancy books! History (ancient), Military (all centuries), Presidents (well not all, just the ones that are not knuckleheads) Sci-fi, the list goes on, never could get into western books and of course love novels. For some reason Mark I never know you lived in Oklahoma! My middle brother lived and passed away there! I agree, AZ. THE ORVILLE is like watching a new installment of TREK. Character conflict, interesting "new civilizations," and so on. It's also interesting during the opening credits to sit and thnk, "This part is imitation Goldsmith. THIS part of fluttering French horns is imitating James Horner's TREK music," and so on. A fun show.

In contrast, the 30 seconds of DISCOVERY I saw made me want to never watch it again. Dark screen, angry voices. Who wants STAR TREK in a coal mine of grumblers?

Mark, I noticed in the episode IF THE STARS SHOULD APPEAR, music that was similar to Goldsmith's trip through V'ger. If you don't have the soundtrack, go to La La Land, and listen to the sample track, "Exploring the Bio-Ship" and you will hear what I mean. You mentioned the opening credits, I like how they make it like the opening credits scenes like in ST Voyager.

Discovery, like Enterprise, miss the target of pre-dating TOS, they never learn, so no Discovery for me.

I just bought the first season of Orville too, such a wonderful show, I can't get enough of this show. The only worry I have is what is going to happen to Orville now that Disney bought 20th Century Fox and 21st Century (that's fox's television network)? I have heard Orville (Seth McFarland) wants to do a third season and is trying to find a new network, which tells me Disney does not want the show...which just sucks and is one the most stupidest things Disney has done, and they have done quite a bit in the last few years. STD is just that! And the only cure is Orville :)

I agree with the both of you! I saw about 30 seconds of that show and have never watched it again either. First Paramount does JJ crap-prise (now canceled...thank God) then CBS puts out STD....what the hell is wrong with these people!! Now I watch fan made Star Trek on YouTube and Orville. Paramount and CBS need to hire these people to do real Trek, especially the ones doing Prelude to Axanar! If you guys have not seen it yet, man you got to! It is great and true Trek alone with some recognizable actors from Trek and BSG! There in the process of doing 2 other parts to continue the Four Year's War. I highly recomend seeing this!

Agree about Orville. I love it - it has the heart and spirit of Trek. Despite its obvious TNG homage, it feels very TOS to me because it's open-ended - it's not dragging 100s of episodes of canon around, it doesn't take itself too serious and it's focused on telling an interesting story each week. I watch the first STD ep, and half the second one before I had to turn it off. May be interesting sci-fi, but felt nothing like Trek...

LOL

Disney has differently blown up Star Wars and just about everything else they have touched. It is starting to come back on them, just look at the box office draw they had for Solo and the New Mary Poppins (130 million to make and brought in 169 million) movies today have to double their budget to make a profit. I have heard Disney, brought in George Lucas to help cleanup the mess of the next Star Wars movie to try to get it back to something that resembles Star Wars... Good Luck there! All the main characters are gone now (character either dead or dead in real life) with no new characters worth a damn and the stories suck! Disney is heading down that worn out road.

So...........I'm here. I watched a movie I thought would not be that good, and I was way wrong, Kong Skull Island. It is awesome, and now my second favorite Kong movie after the original 1933 movie. He will be back next year with Godzilla. Also, thought I would try The Orville TV series season 1 box set, another surprise, just like the old Star Trek, to me.

Anyone that disagrees with me, I will take back Spring and give you Winter, again!

On a sad note, last week my dog died, and she just turned 14 last month. She was with me for 13 1/2 years, I do miss her greatly, my little girl.

Sorry to hear about your dog. They really become a part of your life, emotional and in all ways. Hold onto many happy memories. BTW my Record Round-Up blog is named after our first dog, Spock. My parents wouldn't allow me to have a dog, as soon as we got married we acquired one. Spock lived from 1978 until our last child was about one year old, in 1991. What a comfort our pets are!

I had a cat named Spock (don't all Star Trek fans have/had a pet named Spock), he was a good cat, except when he followed me on a walk, then I had to carry him back.

I see Scott has visited here lately, just had nothing to say, I guess. Must be a major rework going on, again. that Kirk knows how to damage a ship!

AZSneed, Sorry to here about your dog. I have two labs now, one is a puppy (1 year old) and the other is going on 13 years old but still thinks he is a puppy but gets wore out playing with the puppy. He is near the end but doing well with few health issues. We had a sheltie that lived for almost 18 years. He was a rescue and we got him at 6. The last two years he was blind but was able to make his way around the house. Great dog and friend right up to the end.

Dogs, friends, cats, the boss. I miss the old pain in the butt, my nickname for her.

I re-watched the 2014 movie, Godzilla, so to get ready for the sequel, Godzilla King of the Monsters, with guest stars, Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah on May 31. And, next year
Godzilla vs. King Kong, with Kong of Skull Island. I like the Godzilla movies, and I also, re-watched the first Godzilla movie, Godzilla vs. Raymond Burr.

Scotty, after fixing the engines, how about fixing the water leak in my cabin, OK?

It's time to remodel and there being two of us now we want to change a few things :) Like a new TV (70 inch 4k) going on the wall and a new sound surround system and it would not be complete without dual theater recliners, new carpet, paint and new lighting.

Yeah I had my pain in the butt to! I still miss him (KC was his name, a golden retriever) I called him butthead for short, he was like Marmaduke, always triping over his paws or running into things lol

Were 2 of a kind AZ both love watching the old Godzilla movies, they show them on Saturday afternoon on "Comet" TV Station and if not I always have my DVD's of them...I always got the two of those mixed up! You know which one is Godzilla or Raymond Burr!! ;)

Well ladie if there is that much water I'll just turn your cabin into the ships pool and give you another cabin...hows that?

You are getting a home theater that I always wanted, except a projection on a screen instead of a large TV. I could still get a projector for my DVDs at Wal-Mart for about $65, I already a a screen.

A dog is not a pet, it is a family member. My brother's dog keeps me busy picking up stuff she is always knocking down, that is why I call her Pest Pest.

As for Godzilla (TM), I have been buying at Wally World, figures from the Japanese movies, and now from the new one coming at the end of the month. I found at Target, Godzilla cartoon series DVDs, the old HB and the 1998 version Godzilla, or as know as Zilla. I also, bought last year, the HB old cartoon of King Kong.

I will keep my cabin, and my pool, just get me a raft to sleep in.

My son and I looked at a projection system but the living room is not big enough for it! 65$? We were shopping in the wrong store! We looked at Best Buy, the projector we saw was almost $2,000.00 (it was 4k) and the others were higher! And that does not include the screen.

Oh! I agree As a kid we had our black lab until I was in my late 20s and when he died it was like losing a brother. I still miss that old fart!, we could never keep him in the backyard, and we even got an angry neighbor came over one day complaining that our dog got his female dog pregnant! We asked him if he wanted child support? He just stomped off lol

Looks like Godzilla is coming back with a Roar once more :) my youngest son collects (movies, action figures...you name it) on Godzilla too! I had no idea that showing them the old Godzilla movies when they were growing up would affect them so much! I just tied to show them what I watched when I was a kid and have fun with them! My 2 younger brothers never liked going to see Godzilla movies with me, guess that's why my brother below me never had kids and my little brother had 2 girls and I had three sons LOL I remember the old Hanna Barbera cartoons as well my youngest son has them too, and we watch them now and then.

LOL from what I understand Toho had a rep on the set at all times (unless Godzilla eat him or her he he he) and they had script approval.

Yeah, just fine, from where I live to Ridgecrest is 222 miles, did not feel a thing and did not even know about it until I turned on the TV! What can I say my friends, I live in a valley, surrounded by mountains, if all of southern California and the bay area dropped into the ocean tonight, I would have beach front property by morning! There are some very big mountains for the ocean water to climb over and a lot of land before it reached me.

I saw the same thing on TV, Mark you're so right! :)

The nearest fault line is about 70 miles, and the last time it became active was almost 20 years ago (not a lot of damage here), after that it is the San Andreas fault, which is about 220 miles from me (South/West [the L.A. Area]), the same fault runs up toward San Francisco (North/West of me) 188 miles from where I live, the water would have to climb over the Grapevine Mountian (8,750 feet high) Pacheco Pass (to the North West) is 1,368 feet high and 105 miles away, so beach front property!! surfs up!

Thanks, I'm glade I missed it too...

My youngest son bought the whole Universal Monster Collection on Blu-ray (if that's the one you're talking about?) a few months ago, and we have yet to enjoy it...(drum roll) because we are still not finished with the remodeling!! (Surprise, Surprise) the walls & ceiling are textured, the main problem is the original floor, it is covered (the whole house, except the kitchen and bathrooms) in a black tile that was made out of asbestos. This being California they have a ton of regulations about it and the cost is in the thousand's of dollars to have it removed, so we have found an alternative and much cheaper! My son has to do it because of the fumes I can't be around any of it (I have COPD) and he works so much it is slow going. We have to prime the walls and ceiling (two coats), paint (two coats again), and then use a heavy-duty paint/sealer on the floor tiles, and last but not lest have carpet put in...what a pain in the butt. Eventually we will do the rest of the house, if I live that long LOL

I have the complete Lost In Space Box Set (seasons 1-3) I bought at Walmart for $20.00 dollars! I hope that's the one you're talking about, if it is then HELL YES it's worth it! It has all 83 episodes in one box, fully remastered, plus a ton of special features and the unaired pilot "No Place To Hide" all in wide screen.

Take care old friend! Hope you're not in too much pain.

I had fun today, Dental Surgery to remove a broken tooth. Will be better when I can eat again, tomorrow, and having not much pain. Had to wait 5 months until I could get it removed
when my Brother came home, and it didn't bother me, as long as I did not eat on the side with bad tooth. Also, insurance DID NOT cover cost. I am changing insurance company.

Hope everyone else is doing well. I know Scotty is about to suffer another shore leave, so another visit to Doctor McCoy!

Since, this heat wave started that's what I have been watching. You never answered if you found the complete Lost In Space series? I have watched both series and now working on Netflix "The Crown" just finished season 2 (waiting for season 3) it's about Queen Elizabeth II from a young age, to her taking over the throng to so far tell the 1960s. My God I had no idea she had no higher education (yeah she went to Eaton College) but she had no classes, she just studied the Constitution of England, that's it! The shit she had to put up with from her husband (Prince Phillip, the affairs he had), the Prime Ministers (love the parts with Winston Churchill, John Lithgow played him and did a wonderful job) and her mother, sister and all the staff (the ones taking care of her) man what a mess! It's a miracle the people of England have not gotten rid of the Royal Family...I would have if half of what this show has said is true.

Dentures are something I never want! Way to many horror memories from my grandparents LOL

I'm afraid you are stuck with me and I'm stuck with you :) I'm glad you are not getting the high heat, hope it stays that way. How is your back doing?

In this heat I can't walk (which helps me lose weight) can't hardly breath, I can't eat fresh fruit (diabetes), so what is left is vegetable diet and all that does is lead me right back to the head aches etc, etc, etc...BS I know I need to lose weight but it is a *hitty road, so I do what I have too, smile and say good things and smile when my kids say how good I look (knowing in the back of mind that one day they well go through the same thing I have to, laughing my butt off because I'll be dead and done with this life and not have to think about it anymore LOL)

Damn if we were not separated at birth, I watched the first season of CSI (love that show too) a few weeks ago. I've got Married with Children (seasons 1 & 2), Sliders (seasons 1 & 2), Warehouse 13 (Have all 5 seasons) to watch.

Take care old friend!

Hello All,

Well we got the floor taken care of (went over the tile with a sealer) the walls, ceiling are painted, next is carpet. After that is repainting the kitchen, front bathroom, hallway, new carpet down the hallway, paint, then all three bedrooms and hall bathroom. I'm tired already! Take care of yourself's....

Scotty, no wonder you are tired! That is a lot finished, and I know you are happy on how it looks. After you finish, you will have deserved a trip to the Shore Leave Planet, so make sure you go, even if you have to steal the Enterprise.

Today, September 1st is the first day back at Hogwarts School, the Hogwarts Express left at 11 am this morning. Back to school for Harry's and Ginny's kids and for Ron's and Hermione's kids.

Finally bought today Godzilla-King of the Monsters DVD, and just about to watch it.

Scott, take care of yourself!

Sounds good, Mark. I still would have like to have seen the Phase II series, but, we did get some cool movies.

Area]), the same fault runs up toward San Francisco (North/West of me) 188 miles from where I live, the water would have to climb over the Grapevine Mountian (8,750 feet high) Pacheco Pass (to the North West) is 1,368 feet high and 105 miles away, so beach front property!! surfs up!

Yes, I remember having read the news about your Earthquake on Independence Day this year (no fatalities, if I remember correctly). Incidently, just 2 or 3 weeks ago I managed to obtain the BluRay version of the movie "Earthquake" (1974), starring Charlton Heston, and that movie starts with a few minutes of footage from the San Andreas fault, with spoken comments about it's importance and inherent danger for your people on the West coast, before the action starts (the character played by Heston running down a street). That footage of the fault was very impressive!

BTW, my first name given to me by my parents is.... ANDREAS! (LOL) Hopefully, my namesake will keep sleeping many more years...

I'm a big fan of 70ies disaster movies (including Poseidon Adventure, Towering Inferno, the Airport series, and a few others), and I'm also collecting the scores to these movies (many of them by John Williams and others). Just great scores, all of them, from a time long lost, sadly...

Hope you're all fine, my friends! :)

Salutations Squire, so good to see you my friend (tho Kirk is not). Earthquake on Independence Day..ALIEN ATTACK!

I too, like 70's disaster films, having seen them in the theaters, TV and DVD. I remember the "Sensurround" in Earthquake, more rumbling, less tumbling. There was a track on the
cassette of the soundtrack with the Earthquake Sensurround track. As a fan of John Williams music, had to get the disaster soundtracks, like Jaws.

I'm in a coma now, so doing not bad.

Hello Old Friend! Missed you around here, hope all is well with you? I to love these disaster movies too from the first time seeing them at the theater, I do love the scores as well and have quite a few of them myself. If you need any General Trelane let me know and I'll send them your way. Since I live almost 4 hours away from L.A. and if it went active I would have beach front property and my house would be worth millions...let it fly :) j/k

Good to hear you okay AZ! The Earthquake soundtrack (CD) I have has the Sensurround quake nose on it to! Would not recommend using headphones when listening to it, because I did, about lose my hearing over it lol Kirk (James) was banned several years ago (not sure if it is still in effect or not) but he used to pock his head in now and then, but I have not seen or heard from him in months now. Good to know that you can still function when in a coma ;) you never know when I my need someone to clean the plasma conduits out :) Take care my friend...

Brains.....Brains.......sorry, my inner zombie speaking out of turn. Bad zombie. Well, I'm still here...kind of, maybe....

I have been listening to Halloween specials on Public Radio. One featured Hollywood movies music like, Psycho, Harry Potter, Ghostbusters, and others. Then a show called Snap Judgement that had Ghost stories.

Also, today I got in the mail, La La Land's 2 CD set of the soundtrack of The Invaders. I so wanted this for so long!

I have not had the chance to watch Halloween movies this year, but, did buy and watched Monster House, the cgi horror movie. I liked it alot!

I hope all are doing good, and that Scotty FINALLY finished the house.

Here's my annual Halloween joke:

Q: What did the butcher say to me when he sold me the empty hot dog?
A: HAPPY HOLLOW-WEENIE!
...And to all a GOOD fright!

Scotty, not going to finish by Christmas, I see. I guess the Replicators are down. Keep at it, just don't over do it!

Since I am an independent, I don't get bothered by NPR, I just have fun with shows that are not news, but, I do listen to them, too.

Yes, I am still round. :)

For The Invaders soundtrack, it is missing the Pilot, because of license issues, but, the music in the episode was temp music mostly from The Outer Limits.

Now, for Star Trek, I took the soundtrack from TAS and recreated the episodes, Beyond the Farthest Star, Yesteryear and More Tribbles,More Trouble, in all music. It was a job to edit together, and I did enjoyed doing them.

I had the Replicator's working for a few minutes, bloody hell! Sorry about that all of Star Fleet Rations taste like chicken for some reason! I'll get on it as soon as I can laddie!

It's been so long since I watched the Invaders, thank the powers that be, MeTV is showing the show again!

I wish you could upload them here, so we could enjoy your work! I'm glad you enjoyed your editing work, I did not know you were a music editor!

Take Care old friend!

But, the chicken taste like fish...YUCK!

When I do get faster internet, I will upload the TAS stuff.

As for Music Editing, I have been doing it for years, I enjoy it. I use Audacity, and it is free, also, open source. I also, have a paid program/app called DVD Audio Extractor, that I
use to rip DVDs, then edit the tracks. I have ripped movies a TV audio, and made suites of music, with some Sound FX mixed in. I did rips on the first DVD of The Invaders
just to listen to the music, now no need.

There is one soundtrack that is missing, and that is the TV series of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. I notice in some episode they used some of Bernard Herrmann's music
especially the theme to Gort. So, hopefully La La Land still might put it out, like they did with the Star Trek series, Lost in Space, and Land of the Giants.

Scott, you take care, my friend!
