There had been rumours before, but now it's official, apparently:
"Enterprise" Soundtrack Collection Coming Next Week | TrekCore Blog (http://trekcore.com/blog/2014/11/enterprise-soundtrack-collection-coming-next-week/)

I just got the e-mail from La La Land about it, 4 CDs, $59.98. Also, Danny Elfman 4 CD set of his scores to Batman and Batman Returns for $49.98.

I watched SCROOGE with Albert Finney, a really great movie. I try to watch it every year, like A Claymation Christmas, another great Christmas Special.

I tried beaming you over but all we kept getting was a dog! and she seemed content to stay with her master and give him lots of loving and kiss's :)

Blue was the color I turned after drinking something green! Sorry you did not catch one or two of those buggers, bet they would have tasted pretty good stuffed inside a turkey :)

Scott, now you beat me to it! Chasing those Tribbles has wore me out.

Spectre and Scott, It glad y'all had a good Thanksgiving. I was alone, except for my dog, and just cooked Turkey Sunday, too cold for the oven to boot up. But, it was still a nice day with the Christmas lights burning brightly. Don't feel bad for me, I still enjoyed being with my dog AKA Little Girl.

So that was my dog's problem was. I keep at her to tell me when things happen, she pulls her Cat act on me, "I'M THE BOSS AND DON'T FORGET IT! IF I WANT TO TELL YOU, I WILL!"

As long as you remember drinking the stuff....maybe it ain't good you did remember.

I don't know about beef flavored Tribbles inside a Turkey, and all of the hair...everywhere....worst than a shedding dog.

Ain't that the truth! but as soundtreakker said "La La Land is not going to shot there whole wad in one shot" got to build up the tension for volume 2 and as one of my favorite movie lines goes "The search for more money"

Ouch! I know how you feel, I too have a bad back and when it goes out I can't stand or walk, the only thing my doctor gives me is pain meds (Vicodin, which I hate to take for pain) and Demerol (a muscle relaxant) I do not like being not in control of myself.

You really should Pearl! you do excellent work and better then some of the so called professional's do! plus you won't be on your feet as much, which should help with your back problems, as long as they give you a chair with good back support and the real major point is, you like to do this job and your really good at it! that is what I have always told my sons! what ever you do in the work field or life, just make sure you love the job you do! If you do, then you well go places and be happy! if not, then you well do crappy work and end up getting fired or quit and be unhappy for years. Plus what's the worst they can say to you! Thanks but we are not hiring right now! they differently cannot say your work is bad, unless the person is a total moron or wants to steal your work (that's why you have to copy right it or at lest put your name on it, so they can't) I don't know what program you use but it has to have a add watermark option! if not then you have to print one out and find a way to add it to your images, this way your covered. I have used all your CD covers you did for Enterprise Soundtracks and keep all the others you have done (who knows, they maybe worth something to a collector one of these days and I can move to a nice island with a sandy beach with a Pia Colada in one hand and a pair of chi chi's in the other :) ) either way, you win and I win! Yeah, sure... but WTF? Just 1000 copies to be printed? There must be ten thousands of potential buyers for this product, which, if it's true what's been reported so far, may be the most accurate and objective account of the making of STTMP, just like the Cushman books are for TOS. That kind of marketing strategy is the reason for piracy, and since I'm not in a position to get hold of this in Europe (no amazon distribution!), I'm hoping for a digital pirated copy in the near future! Just saying...

I just transferred from cassette the soundtrack to Buck Rogers movie 1979. The real surprise was the new cassette out of the wrapper of Where Eagles Dare. It sounds better that the download I got of the complete score.

For Christmas, I ripped from cassette the audio book of Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol by Tom Mula, and it last about 2 hours. I was only released on cassette. I saw on Amazon that it was being offered by two persons for over $2,000 each.

Sorry to hear you don't get those programmes my friend. Have you never had the chance on seeing Inspector Morse? Such a great programme. It's not your fast moving action cop show, it runs a gentle pace, but is so good, with great acting and the music is a mixture of classical and Barrington Pheloung. Morse was played by the late great John Thaw Inspector Morse (TV series) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inspector_Morse_(TV_series)) . I have the 3 soundtrack CD's if anyone is interested.

I'm really looking forward to watching them again.

I never saw Father Ted.

Two British Sci-Fi I discover last year were Star Cop and Moonbase 3. I really like both very short lived series. I'm amazed how the effect in Moonbase 3 holds up so well, and the strained relation of the crew, very real, to me. Star Cops, had great potential, a shame it was killed off. And, I love the song by Justin Hayward.

Yes, I totally agree AZ, another two great series. Moonbase 3 was written by Barry Letts and Terrance Dicks, who are best known for their time in Doctor Who in the 70's with Jon Pertwee. Problem was it was too realistic for TV of that time and didn't please the audiences, a real shame as it was a super programme. I think Star Cops suffered from the same issues, and was prematurely axed as well. It is a cool theme tune.

Joan Hickson was the best Miss Marple ever, and likewise David Suchet is the best Poirot.

Just bits and pieces! my mother loved to watch them, at that time I had not been long on the force and my first child was on his way so I had little time to watch almost anything. I'll check to see if I can still get them here or have to order them from somewhere else. Yeah losing so much just sucks, that's the main reason I opted for a NAS, and low and behold it burns to the ground taking everything (years worth of pictures, scans and music) with it! what I would not give to have isolinear chip memory setup :)

Those that burned George for what he did (to his own creation by the way) stuck with him, that when Disney made an offer he could not refuse, hell he took it...Who wouldn't want 3 billion dollars! (yes I know he got 5 billion) but he really only got 3 and the other 2 was preferred (which only owners or those on the board of directors get) stock (you and I get what is called common stock, so no matter how much you own, you will never get control of a company) which put Mr. Lucas on the board of directors of Disney, since they had an opening (Steve Jobs seat was open) and he still gets script approval (it's in his contract) and he no longer has to deal with all the hate mail and comments...JJ will! ha ha ha so if JJ fucks up Star Wars (which is a given) it will be on him. The question I have is what happens to Indiana Jones films? does Paramount just have disputation rights? or do they own a piece of them? Update: Disney does indeed own the franchise! damn!! but Paramount owns the disputation rights! There goes that.

I have a suspicion the new flick will be less rewarding than "Howard the Duck". Maybe all folks want these days are 'cool' special effects. I dunno. At 20gbp/ticket, I won't be tempted to discover how bad it is story-wise.

Lens flare? That old chestnut? No way! I never would have expected. :)

It's clear we're not going to be rid of this guy. So I propose in an open letter to Mr. Lucas, to please lock up JJ Abrams his dungeon and teach him the basics of filmmaking. For starters he'll need to write out ten thousand times "I will not use lens flares" every time he uses a lens flare. Also I'm available to swing by with a heavy duty cattle prod a-la THX1138 to administer behaviour correction measures (ie give him a good poke) whilst wearing a Jar Jar Binks costume and saying "Yusa no yusa lens flare".

More then we know! what helps is the US Government force's every internet company, cell phone manufacturer and software company to give them back door access to there products! very covenant, just part of doing businesses with the good old USA. Of course only Great Britain (that includes Canada) is given access as well, since all the transatlantic phone lines go through Canada (US law only goes to the border) and Australia (because of the Asia phone lines go through them and Cristal Springs being NSA Download link in that region of the world) have access. The rest of the Western world has to find out there own way, unless it is an National Security situation, then they will be informed...we do have treaties and have to inform them, as they with us...good old CYA. Mr. Scott is happy. Engines are purring, a stack of Technical Journals to read, and a full bottle of Scotch, I never seen him so happy.

I'm still watching The Real Ghostbusters. Over 150 episodes to watch....WHO ARE YOU GOING TO CALL?......I need to see my Brain Care Specialist.

It looks like Mr. Scott is not over his SHORE LEAVE. Dr.McCoy must be having a really rough time helping the recovery.

I just finished watching all 54 episodes of the 1st Season of Digimon on VCD. These are the Japanese version with Japanese songs, but dubbed in English. I prefer the FOX KIDS version. I became a fan of the show, and I have the toys to prove it.:)

I was organizing my CD collection, and found out that some Soundtracks I bought from Monsters in Motion are burned, not manufactured. They look like they are, but, looking at the playable side, and I can tell they are not. Has anyone else noticed?

No idea on that, AZSneed. But I do know ST Next Gen is on tv again here. And, they're airing the remastered version. Tonight's episode was the one where I fall asleep while the Enterprise and the Ferengi ship are caught in an energy-draining force field.

I am halfway through season 2 of Enterprise, I like a few of the episodes so far but still not sure if I want to pick up the other seasons. I just watched the repair station episode and found it "very interesting" but several episodes seem too similar to TNG, DS9 and TOS. Also the time line seems screwed up compared to other series. I like the music and Capt. Archer seems alright.

AZSneed
02-05-2015, 05:47 AM
I like Archer and the crew, too. My guess, is that Berman was trying to create a replacement to TOS, by showing events that could not have happened, like the Romulans. We don't see the ship until BALANCE OF TERROR, except now they show up BEFORE the episode in Enterprise. I don't like season 3, the full war season. Archer is so changed, I did not like him that season. I hate the main theme song! The rest of the music, I like.

Spectre8750
02-05-2015, 05:53 AM
I agree Max and AZSneed. I was disappointed in the way they ended the Series, they could have done so much with it. Aside from the Zendi Soap Opera period and the screwed up timeline, the next step would have been the Romulan War, but that's CBS for you. They've screwed things up ever since.

max_stein

AZneed, Just started season 3 a few days ago but I have to say that between the last few episodes of season 2 and what I have seen of season 3 so far I have to admit that I am getting more interested in Enterprise and enjoying it a lot more and have already pick up season 4.

AZSneed
02-10-2015, 07:33 AM
NO..NO..NO..NO..NO...NO......! You are now addicted to the series. I knew it would happen. Well, at least until the last episode. Then you will say, was it worth with THIS ending?

Like I said, I like the series, more as a sci-fi series, than Star Trek. I just can't except it as Star Trek.

max_stein
02-10-2015, 07:57 AM
Well if I was a Star Trek purist, I would have a lot of trouble excepting all the Klingon activity and Romulans showing up and don't even get me going on Vulcan Zombies but as you said looking at it as more of a sci-fi series and clearing my mind of my "Star Trekkie" impulses I found that I can enjoy it :)

I would never get in the way of someone enjoying watching videos or movies by spoilers.

I bought last week the complete series of Cowboy Bebop. I had it on an over compressed set, but, this one I really enjoyed. It was like seeing it for the first time, very clear detailed picture. It was like moving up from VCD to Blu-ray, when comparing quality.

I also bought the anime, Halo Legends. I really enjoyed it, even tho I didn't even know about the game Halo. And, I bought Orson Welles's Citizen Kane. I have heard how great it is, well I enjoyed it, but, nothing real special about it, to me.

max_stein
02-11-2015, 09:41 PM
Citizen Kane was ahead of it's time but now it doesn't have the same "power" it had back when times were different. I bought a 60 inch flat screen and a blue Ray player two years ago. Major improvement. I went through my entire movie collection. Really made a difference with movies with a lot of "eye candy" in them.

AZSneed
02-11-2015, 11:49 PM
I guess you are right about Citizen Kane, I can see it.

It is true about Blu-ray. Now, I don't have Blu-ray, I can't afford to upgrade everything, but, from what screen grabs I have seen, I wish I could.

I hate to keep re-buying movies. I bought Silent Running with Bruce Dern on Beta, VHS, and DVD. And, the Beta costed me $50.00 in the early 80's.

max_stein
02-12-2015, 07:17 AM
I know exactly where you are coming from. Beta-VHS-DVD-Blue Ray. I did the same thing plus bought a Tandy series III computer in 1982 with a 48k memory, cutting edge at the time. (+ chasing 0 across the screen firing -) That was what the games were along with pong :) I sure spent enough money trying to keep up with technology over the years.

AZSneed
02-12-2015, 10:14 AM
YOU CAN'T KEEP UP WITH TECHNOLOGY! I had a Commodore 64 from 1986 to 1996, I really enjoyed that computer. Then in 1996, I got my 1st PC, now I'm on my 5th PC.
I just don't like how computers are getting smaller, with my eye sight getting worst with age, I need big. I have a 19 inch monitor, just right for me. Of course, If I had a big screen TV, then it would not matter, just view PC on it. I can't afford to upgrade, hell, I can't even pay attention anymore.:)

Anyone here ever watched episodes of the 50's TV series, Space Patrol? If not do a search on youtube, and you will find many episodes. Watch out for episodes from the other Space Patrol from the UK, a puppet series, different series altogether. The series is about Buzz Cory, Commander-in-Chief of the Space Patrol on the man made planetoid, Terra. The series has episodes on various planets in our solar system and beyond, and our favorite..time travel. So far I have downloaded 45 episodes, and have about 25 on DVD. Since it was live, they made copies of the episodes on film, from a camera aimed at a monitor, so the quality varies. It is considered cheesy now, and I like cheezy.:)

I just finished season 3 of Star Trek Enterprise, a lot of action and Captain Archer did change but I certainly can understand why. On to season 4, I have to say the series is better than I thought. I suppose I will have to consider picking up Voyager after I'm done.

AZSneed
02-13-2015, 11:26 PM
Sure Archer had a reason in the story, it is that it was not need to create a story like that. It was the whole season story that doomed the series to die, even season four where they got more on track could save the series. It is a shame that Berman messed it up, and got new people in season four to TRY to save the show.

Season four has the Mirror Mirror like TOS episode and the TOS Defiant. A real wicked episode.

Voyager, I liked for what I saw. It is the only ST series I have not seen much of. I have the first season only. I liked that they got back to seek out new worlds to contact, and new peoples to meet. Robert Picardo (the holo doctor) is the only ST actor I ever saw and heard in person. I sat across the isle from his wife, which I just found out he divorced in 2012.

I have never seen any of the Star Trek series actors in person. :( The 3rd season reminded me of DS9 during their war with the Dominion. The nice thing about seeing only a very few episodes of Enterprise and Voyager is that it is all new to me. I usually watch TOS, DS9 and TNG once a year. I enjoy it but no surprises when you seen them several times before.

theone2000
02-20-2015, 12:36 AM
Ah the eye-rolling thing. You get that too. I'm actually watching it on terrestrial tv of all places. CBS started showing season 1 a couple of weeks ago along with TOS. With respect to TNG, the space scenes with the Enterprise have been significantly cleaned up, and the planets look like they've been re-done with CGI. Nice. Even so, personally, I'm not convinced it's worth an urgent upgrade from DVD to Blu-ray.

They guys in charge of remastering addressed an issue in Encounter at Farpoint where Data and Riker are walking behind a bush on the holo-deck. Originally, two shots were overlapped where they enter and emerge from the greenery, with a simple blurring that didn't work very well. Now it's seamless. Looks like that scene annoyed someone other than just me.

Also starring DeForest Kelley as the taste testing judge whom complains he's a doctor not a taste testing judge, and Leonard Nimoy as the Food eating contest champion challenged by the innovative James Doohan. Who will eat the most tribbles and live to eat another day. Special voice appearance by Barbara Babcock as the witty sarcastic replicator. Rated R for language, violence and extreme carnage. Spectre8750 are you referring to the FCC new rules for the internet?

Spectre8750
02-27-2015, 01:22 AM
The FCC has decided it and the U.S. Government will now regulate everything on the Internet and charge billions in new taxes as though it is a Utility. They may now regulate what is posted and said on the internet. And Obummer is now going to make Ammo for weapons illegal, starting with the 5.56mm for AR-15's. I think it is nothing but the elite ruling over us and what we say and our ability to protect our selves. WE ARE IN THE DARK AGES!
One more step backwards away from any type of world Gene Roddenberry could ever think of except on some planet ruled by tyranny!

AZSneed
02-27-2015, 03:12 AM
Well, if the Internet providers were not wanting to give Netflix and others special deals, Obummer and the FCC would not have interfered. As always, WE are the losers in the deal.

Let me make one thing clear, we will not have taxes on the Internet, it will be fees. Of course, we are not stupid, fees ARE taxes, no matter what they say.

Spectre8750
02-27-2015, 04:20 AM
All they would have to do is regulate business from unfair practices. It's an excuse to regulate us, not the internet. I feel like we live in China for a while now. It just keeps getting worse!

max_stein

Yes, worst. Both parties are the same helping us, by controlling us. If we have the freedom of choice, then let us decide.

Unrelated or not, you decide. In Alabama, the Republican Governor is going to raise taxes because they can't stop over spending, and to do it with out us voters having a choice, because we would NOT approve more taxes. And, they wonder why they need new voters, because us old ones have more sense to NOT vote for them.

As for the internet story, I've not heard of any of that. Wow. It sounds to me like the internet is getting a lethal injection.

We are gathered here today to pay final respects to our honored dead. But it should be noted that this death takes place in the shadow of new life, the sunrise of a new world; a world that our beloved comrade gave his life to protect and nourish. He did not feel this sacrifice a vain or empty one, and we will not debate his profound wisdom at these proceedings. Of my friend, I can only say this: of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most... human.

Damn it, he's dead. I was hoping the remaining actors would be around for the 50th. Such is life.

Here it is a little larger. please excuse the crudeness of the composition, but I only really put it together for an avatar.

I was going to start watching the 1st season Star Trek Discovery which I just pick up but instead I am watching TOS so I can spend some time with an old friend Mr. Spock. I always thought that Leonard Nimoy would be the last TOS actor to die. I suppose it was because he played a Vulcan and they live long lives-kinda silly of me to think that way.

Yes, we think of them as larger than life, and they are just like up.

They had a nice tribute on NPR radio yesterday.

I too watched an interview some years ago with him explaining where it came from. Fascinating. But when watching The Search for Spock when the team is assembled on Vulcan, the symbolism in the production background design / wardrobe appears unusual. Perhaps even Illuminati-esque.

Tonight's episode of TNG Remastered was Conspiracy. I wanted to see if the end scene where Remmick is hosting a number of parasites has been re-worked. Unfortunately, no. It's still got the hilarious stop-motion animation. That scene really could have done with a CGI update.

Another thing I'm starting to find annoying is that the original 4:3 aspect ratio has been kept. Fair enough for a Blu-Ray release. It would have been nice to see a cropped 16:9 version on the tv like they've done with TOS which is really filling the screen nicely. Incidentally, today's TOS episode was Who Mourns for Adonais?

max_stein

I really wish they had improved TNG when they remastered them, sound like they miss plenty. With the special effects today you would think they could do a lot to improve the series. I suppose the cost were a factor.

AZSneed
03-07-2015, 06:24 AM
Is that not like remaking it by changing the FX, like they did to TOS? Sure some effect were an improvement, except the 1701. I DON'T LIKE AZTEC PATTERNS.

Spectre8750
03-07-2015, 06:32 AM
Anything done to the Bug zipping across the floor the way it did would be an improvement. That scene still cracks me up! Did they use marshmellows with sprayed on food die to make those? And why were they missing after Shatner was seen on stage?

That "bug" scene did look like it was made by a group of high school theater students. I remembered being disappointed by it and thinking that B rated old monster movies did a better job. The episode itself was good with a great plot only to be let down but poor special effects.

Indeed. I think they could have gone a bit further and fixed a few things without 'Lucasing' it.

On 'Net Neutrality', the only breakdown I could find was done by Alex through the medium of rant on his Friday show. http://rss.infowars.com./20150313_Fri_Alex.mp3

There wasn't any coverage in the UK about this NN business, but that maybe because it's a US thang. Although I wouldn't be surprised if someone decides to spring that nonsense on us here.

My sympathies, chaps. Fortunately I'm not subject to the FCC. Here we have occasional laws passed through parliament that are enforceable by police authorities. Funnily enough nobody from the government has been arrested for bulk collection even though it was ruled as illegal by a judge.

I read that Obummer likes the idea of having mandatory voting. He has no clue, people don't vote because the poli-tick-ians don't listen/care about us, so why vote for them.

max_stein
03-21-2015, 06:20 PM
Obama believes that most of the uninformed voters who don't vote now will vote for his party. Instead of forcing people to vote-people should be better informed before they vote. Low information voters are dangerous to our future they have no clue who really they are voting for. Only that they belong to one party or the other.
