i see you ahead
in a dark cave
silent and black
waiting for me
to show myself
to let you know
that you’re not alone
just like I promised

to you I walk
but seem to go nowhere
as if everything
is in slow motion
i reach out to you
but get nothing in return
do you push me away
or is it i that pushes you

i look to your face
for an answer to the question
but it is blank
with no emotions to draw from
this cave that we are in
is filled with darkness and fog
the kind that is cleared
only after a rainstorm in the eve

so i leave you alone
only to hope i’ll return another day
when i can finally see
your smiling face like a sun’s ray
