I have a queation. just downloaded ff8 pc demo. just wonderin’ why’s there stripes on the screen? the only time it goes away is when im in battle. my graphics card is: inno3d geforce4 mx 440 agp8x 128mb/128bit w/tv out. i also have the latest driver. can u figure out what’s wrong?

What version of Windows are using (if you’re using Windows) — sometimes that can cause problems. Did the demo come with a settings utility and, if so, have you tried adjusting them?

I’m using Windows XP Service Pack 1. yes it came with a configuration settings and i configured it.

you can download it on any games site… i even think on ffshrine itself.

i had the problem with the full game too, i think i cleared it out by putting the compatability to Win98

just rightclick the icon where you start it and choose properties, then go to compatability (or whatever it is in english WIN) and put it on Win98/ME

if that doesn’t help, try putting the video specs a little lower.

A friend of mine bought FF8 from ebay a while ago. When we installed it he had the exact same problem, lines or pixelated graphics all over the place that only dissapeared when either in a fight or on a cut scene. He solved it by getting an update patch for the game from somewhere, the patch was made specifically for the Geforce card though im afraid i cant remember were he got it from.

Dude I had the same problem, I solved it by getting a better video card, the problem went away. It might also be your screen. Is it new?
